the thing about buck expanding his social circle is that it's a realisation. and also it's a reaction. he and eddie have never been apart. for seven years, they have never been apart for a significant amount of time. they have never had to truly consider and reckon with just how much time they spend together. just how intertwined their lives are. until now. literally this is a shock to the system. suddenly buck is left with so much space in his life. and it's more than he ever could have imagined. because you don't realise just how much space someone fills until they’re gone. so now he's left scrambling, trying to fill it. expanding his social circle. to fill that eddie-shaped hole. it's a realisation (of how much time he spent with eddie) and a reaction to that (trying to fill in that time). it's something he's never had to think about before now because eddie was always there. but now he can do nothing but think about it. and well, all the while he's living in eddie's house. without eddie. he's living in a constant reminder of what that space used to be filled with.

I know this has probably already been pointed out a lot, but I’m still relatively new to the fandom and I haven’t personally seen anyone talk about it, so forgive me if this is repetitive.

Every other main character has found their permanent love interest EXCEPT for Buck and Eddie.

Chim + Maddie, Bobby + Athena, Hen + Karen.

Buck & Eddie’s lack of permanent partners that are well developed…seems a little bit intentional to me. I know it’s probably not, but it’s hard to see it any other way.

At this point, I don’t even think a well-written love interest for either Buck or Eddie would compare to the slow-burn potential of Buddie…And this is coming from someone who got to binge the show in a month, not watch it episode by episode for YEARS.

I know that technically both are in relationships as of present, but I’m almost 100% certain Eddie won’t be for much longer. His relationship with Marisol was never going to last long-term anyway, regardless of the cheating storyline. Buck and Tommy? I don’t see them working out long-term either. ‘Buck, Bothered, and Bewildered’ fully convinced me that Buck has misplaced his feelings for Eddie onto Tommy (the workout scene while Eddie is on the phone… you’re telling me he wanted TOMMY’S attention there? Tommy wasn’t even there! Plus the little quip by Maddie about Eddie’s plans being ‘circled’ with a heart). Anyway, my point is that I don’t think either of their relationships will work out long term. but

EVEN if they did, neither relationship would be as satisfying as Buddie. Buck and Eddie have BEEN THERE for each other for yearsssss, caring for each other, coparenting, generally having each other’s backs.

Even introducing a new, well-written love interest with stories outside of being a love interest and a compelling narrative would still not be good enough for either.

Just some silly Saturday thoughts, I guess.

not gonna lie i really hope that the blue eyes super sonic is 1 just a temporary thing (which it probably is im not expecting this to be a permanent change at all) and 2 isnt like. Super Sonic But More Powerful Or Whatever. obviously i think transformations are fun but imo they should mostly just introduce fun new abilities that sonic wouldnt normally have or show what would happen if he used the power of whatever important objects/gods/etc are in that game. not try harder and harder to be stronger than previous transformations each time. super sonic is Already supposed to be the strongest most powerful version of sonic and in my opinion introducing other forms that are just "super sonic but better" makes super sonic feel kinda. pointless? weaker? idk if what im saying makes sense at all.. to be clear it wouldnt be the end of the world to me if they did this its just not something i really Want them to do
