If you often forget where you left off and can't remember at all, then you may want to know how to improve your memory. Sometimes simple changes, at first glance, can greatly help to change or improve memory. In the elderly, memory loss is usually caused by poor blood circulation in the brain. But memory loss can be due to other factors such as anemia, depression, malnutrition, and excessive alcohol use, be it Alzheimer's disease. Prevention. Poor blood supply can be reduced by moving for at least half an hour a day, and quitting smoking. Eating as well as anything else in human life and playing a crucial role here, healthy eating is a factor in improving memory. What kind of food do you consume? Eat smaller meals multiple times a day to maintain a normal blood sugar level. This diet is extremely good for good brain function. Consume as many whole grains, nuts, seeds, fruits, and vegetables as possible. Food is important because it contains high amounts of calcium, copper, beta carotene, folic acid, magnesium, manganese, zinc, essential fatty acids and vitamins B, C, and D. These ingredients are very important for brain health and good nutrition and good circulation of the blood. The best foods, vitamins, and other memory enhancing ingredients you can read in the following. Blueberry and coffee. Blueberry is a great fruit which among other benefits is great for improving memory. Coffee as well as blueberry is a great choice to remember, especially in the elderly, speeds up their reactions. Fish. Fish has always been known for its effects on brain function, and thus on memory. One can of tuna is enough to improve memory, which is our main goal. Omega 3 fatty acids are key to improving and maintaining brain cells. Vitamin B1. This vitamin is important to have a good memory. The lack of this vitamin leads to changes in our brain and loss of memory. Good sources of vitamin B1 are beer yeast, ham, and peanuts. Red wine. To be exact, red wine is a great ingredient for improving our memory. Apart from red wine and beer, it can help with a similar effect. Curry. Scientific research has shown that curry has a positive effect on improving memory and Alzheimer's disease. Its action stimulates enzymes that protect our brain from oxidative damage. Sage tea. The benefit of using this tea is that it increases the level of acetylcholine, an ingredient that improves memory function in our brain, and also facilitates the process of digestion. Spinach. We all know the cartoon about Popeye the sailor, how he gets spinach, now and science confirms it. One studies on mice for eight months, with their diet supplemented with vitamin E. Results showed a 500 to 900 percent increase in brain and nerve tissue, as well as an increase in dopamine release in the brain (a "pleasure" chemical that is responsible for swelling of information to different parts of the brain). Therefore need to eat spinach to improve the memory and motor skills of our brain. Nuts. If you look closely at the nuts resembling our brains, perhaps mother nature is showing us their purpose. In 2009, a study showed that adding 2% nuts to a non-nutritious daily diet prevented the mice from aging, improving their ability for brain function and data processing. Another study in 2010 presented at the International Conference on Alzheimer's Disease reveals that mice that were nuts fed and diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease had improved concentration and memory. The main reason for this is probably the fact that nuts contain antioxidants. Some researchers claim to fight DNA damage brain cells caused by harmful free radicals in our bodies. Carrots. Carrots have long known how good they are for our eyes, but research shows they are also good for our brains. Luteolin is the reason for this. This great ingredient reduces the deficiency that occurs over the years, as well as Mice, have shown excellent results in improving their memory. Apart from carrots, large amounts of luteolin are also found in peppers, celery, and olive oil. Folic acid. Folic acid can prevent, preventing memory loss, by maintaining a normal level of homocysteine (amino acid) present in the body. This acid deficiency can contribute to brain damage in two ways. a variety of cardiovascular problems can occur, secondly,

as we have said homocysteine turns into an amino acid that at normal levels stimulates brain cell receptor function, whereas if the level is too high cell destruction can occur. Sources of folic acid are dark green leafy vegetables, sunflowers, peanuts, and others. Folic acid can also be purchased as a dietary supplement. Choline. This vitamin is said to be the most important for the good functioning of memory. It is extremely beneficial for our memory. Exercises To Improve Your Memory
Exercises To Improve Your Memory
By Helena Reimer
Your memory is like a muscle that needs regular exercise in order to function at its best. The more you exercise it, the more you will be able to remember, and the easier the process will become.
Mental Exercises
But how can you exercise your memory? The answer is simple, you simply make a point to remember things that you normally wouldn’t. This can include things like the colors of a sign that you just passed while driving, or a phone number on a billboard. Reading books and trying to remember whole paragraphs word for word will greatly enhance your memory.
There are many mental exercises that you can make a part of your daily life, and the good thing is that they do not have to take up a lot of time, as you can work on them when you are doing mindless tasks.
Meditate
Meditation can help you to clear your mind and focus on what it is that you need to remember. In order for you to remember something you need to be able to focus on that piece of information for at least 8 seconds in order for it to be stored in your brain for long term use. Therefore meditation can help to build those muscles so that they are ready for when you need them.
Take Clear Pictures
Practice to take in all pieces of information, and pay attention to every little detail. You may not need all this information, but it will stimulate your brain and make it easier for times when it is crucial that you remember every little detail. You can do this with pictures, or with scenery as you are driving along the road.
Recite Poetry
Reciting poetry or songs can also help you to improve your memory, as it stimulates your brain and strengthens your memory muscles.
Do Things out of the Ordinary
If you have a routine and you are able to do things without thinking about it, consider switching up your routine so that your mind has something to concentrate on. This can include doing things with your non-dominant hand, like writing, brushing your teeth or holding your fork and knife in the other hands which you are not used to.
Physical Exercises
Physical exercise is just as important as mental exercise as it helps increase the flow of blood and oxygen which is needed by the brain and helps in the process of storing and retrieving information.
Physical exercise can also help you to reduce stress and help you to sleep better at night. Studies have shown that stress and fatigue can interfere with the process of storing and retrieving information.
