Ollie sits down at the table and puts xis feet up on the table. Xe watches as Leah swipes on her phone and Travis eats. Ollie sighs. Travis's hair is getting in his food. Travis, distracted and thinking about his dog, doesn't even know that his hair is in his food. Leah chuckles at the orange cat that is seemingly unable to drink water. Ollie clears xis throat.

"Alright guys, we need to get started on the project."

Leah huffs and puts down her phone, without her attention really ever leaving it. "What project again?"

Travis continues to eat.

"The science project? Our sixth period project?"

"Ollie, that was due last week."

"No, it's due tomorrow."

"One week ago tomorrow."

Travis looks up, annoyed. Why do I have to be the only sane person here? he thinks. "Guys, it's due Friday."

"Yeah," Ollie replies. "Tomorrow."

"Today's Tuesday."

Ollie holds up xis phone, showcasing the date. "Thursday."

Proven wrong, Travis slumps deep into his chair. "Tuesday, Thursday, same difference."

Leah mutters something along the lines of "Gosh darn it all to fricking heck." Approximately. "It was due last Friday. Neither of you were free last week because of your camping trip."

"Heh, yeah..." Travis remarks stupidly. "I almost got eaten by the blue-tailed skink."

"For the last time, Travis, blue-tailed skinks are small lizards. They can't eat you!" Ollie harumphs back into xis seat.

Travis squints back at xim, his face full of skepticism. "That's what you think..."

"Mosquitoes on the other hand, can kill you super easily," Ollie continues. "injecting you with sicknesses so foul you couldn't even imagine them. In fact, they-"

Leah cuts xim off. "Sci-ence. Pro-ject," she enunciates carefully, imagining them to be monkeys or very small children. "It's really late and we can't waste any more time." She opens her phone, ignoring Ollie and allowing xim to become background noise along with Travis, grumbling his conspiracy theories. Opening the calendar app, she sees the science project, due Friday, aka, tomorrow.

"See guys?" she announces. "Science project, due tomorrow. I told you it wasn't due last week." We really need to get back into soccer again, she thinks.

Types of stupid: Ollie: Easily caught off-task, thinks xe's sharing valuable information. Leah: Always wrong, but never admits it. Travis: Conspiracy theorist. Narrator: Makes everything as confusing as possible. All of them think they're the only sane person there.
