hiiiiiiii!!!!!!! i've been roleplaying for about 14 years, and i've written my darling nicolette on and off since the very beginning! she was the first character i ever wrote, and the first oc i made, so you can imagine she means the absolute world to me. i've put my very heart and soul into her.

writing is my biggest hobby next to gaming. my favorite game(s) of all time are bioshock and alice madness returns, but my current fixation is genshin (don't let me play anymore gacha games i have terrible impulse control!!!) honorable mention to bloodborne too (pc release...bLEASE). i also like to read, but i consume a lot of fanfic primarily. favorite childhood book series is the sisters grimm!

anyway, i'm very happy to be in isola! while i haven't necessarily extended to all corners of the group, i've felt very welcomed by the circle of friends and writing partners i've had the absolute pleasure of meeting. i've been in many rp groups (aurp, aod, kny, ama) i have also been in indie spaces for many years and my experiences have varied! it can be difficult to write an oc, especially a female oc, and have others give you a fair chance. so i feel super grateful to all the people who have done so in this group and allowed me to to continue my ongoing journey of fleshing out nicolette and exploring every aspect of her character. i adore the relationships she's built.

4. which muse of yours is your all time favorite? if you stopped writing them: why?

for canon muses, probably b.ucky b.arnes, honestly. i connected with his story a lot & for almost three or four years he was my dominant solo muse that i focused all my attention on. unfortunately the fandom really made me move away from marvel in general & each time i've tried to revive him in some sort of way, it makes me too anxious & it's hard to enjoy. it's taught me a valuable lesson on fandoms & being much more selective of who i write with / protecting my writing space, but still. it does suck sometimes when i think about it.

7. describe your favorite relationship dynamic. (can be any kind, platonic, romantic, familial, antagonistic, etc.)

romantic tends to dominate if i'm completely honest. as much as friend dynamics & friend dynamics are fun, i ten to really lean toward shipping for the fact that it can expand my muses stories & so many plots can come of it. there's just something about really screaming about a ship & making them your own that can't be beat.

9. when you look at a new blog, what is it that makes you press the follow button? is it the muse, the aesthetics, the writing–?

writing & muse are the main things that make me hit the follow (outside of rules being followed, if i think we can mesh based on rules, etc). i don't think you need to be the most aesthetic blog on the planet to be able to write & have a good characterization. sometimes i don't want to use icons or aesthetics either, so i get it. usually if i know your character & can see our writing mesh together, i hit the follow. sometimes though the writing is really good but i don't know your character at all & there's no verses where i can see our characters mesh. or if i see a ton of my character on your blog (seven go.jo's, five s.ukuna's, etc.) i tend to be a little more hesitant –– mainly because i don't want to be collected, i want to be able to build connections.

12. what roleplay trends do you remember from the year you started tumblr rp? how did you feel about those trends?

urgh. i've been around for a while & started in rp groups, so i was part of the whole giant gif & nothing but dialogue trend of rp. which some people still do that i suppose & there's nothing exactly wrong with it, but i much more prefer getting into my character's head & exploring that way. i tend to hate leaning just on dialogue & i'm kind of glad that trend is gone for the most part. i'm also just glad i do multi-muse indie rp instead of in a group –– it's much less stressful & there's much more development.

i dont feel comfortable roleplaying a gay character not only because I'm not a gay man (I'm actually a non-binary queer who is mostly attracted to women) but also because i get extremely uncomfortable when another male muse wants to only have sexual threads and connections with my male muses. it stinks of fetishism and most of the times the mun is female, acting like all gay men think about is sex.

i'm not a vampire but i still play one in a group... so the i'm not a gay man thing doesn't make any sense to me like i don't... play myself... so why would that matter when it comes to a sexuality? if i can play characters with whole different backgrounds and even a different species because i love fantasy and supernatural rps, i can't do the math on why i wouldn't be able to play someone of a different gender and sexuality?

hmmmmm....

anyway i totally agree that fetishization (what you just described) is a problem. i simply don't roleplay with people who only want to have sexual threads and connections. if you're not interested in exploring a relationship beyond that then i'm not interested in you. if we're in a group and i think someone is fetishizing my muse i will ignore them and plot with other people who aren't weird and/or tell the admins if i really think it's that much of a problem. if i was in a 1x1/indie i would simply block.

don't roleplay people you're not comfortable roleplaying of course, but don't forget to do some self examination on why exactly you'd be uncomfortable writing a gay man. if it's about other people's fetishization? fair enough. i'm sorry that you feel that way and i hope one day you find a group/space that makes you feel comfortable enough that your muses won't be fetishized. but make sure there's nothing deeper going on... respectfully <3

i usually write for trigger heavy fandoms (asoiaf, kingdom & others) and may incorporate some of it into my writing, muses' backgrounds and overall characterization, everything properly tagged so you can avoid it with xkit or other extensions available for tumblr for free. if that's an issue for you, perhaps my blog isn't for you. i try to tag everything, however if you need an specific tag do let me know and i'll make one for you (something like: "[MUN NAME] don't look" or similar). be aware that there may be mentions of death, gore, violence, consanguinamory/endogamy (asoiaf: lannisters and targaryens | naruto: kekkei genkai clans like the hyuga and uchiha), rape (kingdom: ashin's backstory and asoiaf as a whole, though it obviously won't be written) and cannibalism (hannibal and kingdom), as well as unhealthy relationships and dynamics alongside with powerplay and other bad behaviours. it's obvious but necessary to say that while i reserve the right to write/mention these problematic and toxic topics, i as the mun do not approve/support or condone any of these actions or behaviours — i merely am capable of separating fiction from reality. as long as everything is properly tagged, under read more and with mutual consent of all adults/parts involved, i support the right of consenting adults exploring dark fictional topics in a safe and fictional environment with other like minded people. remember, random people on the internet aren't entitled to know your traumas and how you cope with them, be considerate.

「THE INTERACTIONS」

OC/DUPLICATE/MULTIMUSE/CANON DIVERGENT FRIENDLY.

as far as interactions go, i always tag the url of the moot i'm writing with as well as potential triggers (if necessary) that occur on the thread. my tagging system is simple: i tag triggers as "tw; x" and content warnings (such as images) as "cw; x". sometimes i give titles to threads just to organize myself. you can further see how my tags work by taking a look at my tag dump post, just search ‘tag dump’ on my blog and you will find the most recent one i’m using. i shitpost a lot and talk oocly constantly, but you can blacklist my ooc and shitpost tag if you want. i love talking with my moots, but it's overwhelming sometimes. also? when i'm doing drafts, i usually don't chat much bc it makes me lose focus. i am slow and don't like to be rushed, so please be patient - i'll never pressure you for replies and expect the same curtesy in return. this is a new addition but if i ever so catch you vaguing about me or keeping a ‘woe is me’ attitude in order to manipulate people - or especifically me - into writing with you be aware that that will count as a strike ( and i have a strict baseball policy regarding that:  three strikes and you’re out ) and it will most likely make me not want to write with you. also ? if i happen to spot any form of fetishistic behaviour as a driven force to a rp blog and if it makes me uncomfortable i will most likely not follow/write with at all - while i am an adult and have no issues with nsfw stuff, i am not a willing participant in any form of fetishes and would like to remain like so thank you very much. you are free to do whatever the hell you want on your blog, no judging here, and i am free to do the same with mine - pushing fetishes on other people is also another form to get a strike here. i’m going to admit that i don’t really like or feel comfortable with those fandoms whose art style is mainly the wrongly called calarts ( which nowadays is known as the art style with the bean mouth; noodly arm that’s become mandatory in american cartoons ever since 2010 ) and thus won’t feel inclined to write with characters from or with fcs that use this art style - if we click however, i’d be more than happy to write iconless rps.  plotting wise, i prefer to just wing it with only a faint idea of where to take the thread, but i'm cool with anything. on an important note: please be considerate when formatting your replies, i have a bad eyesight and if i can't read it, i won't bother with it. my muses ramble a lot, but you don't have the match the length - just give me something to work with. on that note this also goes to plotting, please at least try — nobody likes to try and plot with a door. i make most of my graphics, and if we write together chances are that i'll make edits/tag you in stuff so lmk if you don't like it and i'll stop.

「THE FLEET」

MOSTLY BI/PAN MUSES, MULTISHIP AND MULTIVERSE, SMUT FRIENDLY

although i love my ships as the next person (and practice self indulgent shipping), i like them to be devices to move the plot/dynamics/muses forward. however, just because i ship certain pairings, don't presume that my characters are approaching yours with second intentions. most of the time, i like to reblog those relationship memes so anyone interested can send them in and we can talk about it (either that or just sending me a message). as mentioned before, there will be some triggering content here, ship wise as well (the lannisters, for example t.ywin/j.oana and c.ersei/j.aime, and the potential inter clan ships as well, especially the ones who have kekkei genkais that they want to keep within the clan), they may be reblogged/mentioned from time to time and/or be played with trusted friends — but will be tagged so can be blacklisted and avoided at will.

quick note about some my characters in specific:

my j*ime is and always will be in love with c*rsei — like it or not that is a core detail of his character and i do hc he is her valonqar ( which makes the betrayal way more painful ), therefore i wont write anything romantic with other muses with my jaime, and yes that includes briennes ( i personally do not ship br*ime either so 🤷‍♂️) and major trigger warnings apply;

similarly, my t*win’s one true love was j*anna — however, contrary to the previous case i am willing to write shippy stuff as long as they go along the lines of ‘he marries again since he needs more heirs bc he doesnt wanna leave casterly rock to t*rion’, as it is trigger warnings apply and do expect heavily triggering hateful things from him ( especially about his youngest son ) because he is a deplorable man;

general trigger warning regarding consanguinamory and endogamy around my targaryen muses because…they are targaryen and thats kinda their thing??? i cant believe that at this point ( since we all know the source material ) i have to point this out but it is better if i do. anyway, major triggering warnings apply;

while i tend to lean more on the books canon, i did like the show addition of t*rmund being fascinated/attracted for br*enne — especially considering it makes perfect sense for who he is and what values are deemed useful and sought after in the freefolk culture ( skilled warriors and strong, capable, women ) which goes against what most southerners ( or anyone from the other side of the wall from him ) is looking for and as such, i write in this fascination in my interactions. he will not be interested in the traditional ladies;

my alc*na is not shipping based — while i get the appeal ( and even joke that she is a ‘tall vampire mommy’ ) and all that, if your muse is a woman in her service she will see you as nothing but the help or as a food supply;

i write my j*raiya still in love with ts*nade — regardless the verse, yet there may be some shippy interactions for him, though ooc plotting must come in first given his lewd nature;

my j*raiya also has a love-hate relationship with or*chimaru, it is both romantic and platonic and i keep this in my portrayal.

i ship d*ctor x d*nna both platonically and romantically — i dont know why tf people act like its such a war crime to do so but i am just letting it be known here. by default i write them as best friends, and i do not write them having any sibling relationship of the sort;

none of my d*ctors will ever be shipped with r*se t*lers or cl*ara osw*alds ( or any of the far too many versions of that character ), and i do reserve the right to decline interactions with these muses. nothing against the muns or the ships but its a personal preference of mine since i do not like these characters.

most of my muses are either bi or pan, those who are not will be specified. don’t be afraid to reach out to me for shipping right off the bat, honesty is always a good policy though some plotting might be needed to see if there's chemistry.

as an adult, my blog is smut friendly and heavily partakes in sexual sunday/sinday because some of my muses are lewd in nature.

When I was looking for new creative writing outlets back in 2012-2013, I stumbled across what was then a very small Pokemon RP group on Tumblr. I joined up with an elderly Gambler Trainer OC and immediately took a liking to the scene. The group was full of insanely talented writers, artists, and creators--some of whom I still talk to today!--and I noticed that nearly all of them played conflicted or super serious characters (there’s nothing wrong with that btw!) What this group could use, I remember thinking, is a character who’s an blindingly bright ray of sunshine. And so, enter this blog right here. Enter Barry.

When I first started playing Barry back then, he was a total clown and an absolute meme, not meant to be taken seriously at all. My main goal with him was to farm Laughs. I was perfectly fine making him the butt of every joke, or injecting him into the most ridiculous AUs. No seriousness was allowed.

However, over time, I got inspired by my group to write serious hcs, explore Barry’s conflicts more, and create a more multifaceted image of the character. I still love writing Barry’s sheer amount of positive energy and bright-eyed enthusiasm, but I think I’m also careful not to let him devolve into just a “gotta run fast gonna fine you meme man” or some clown caricature of a portrayal (even if I sometimes gleefully toe that line.) I know that there are people in the fandom who think my boy’s too annoying, too hyper--but I like to think that I’ve developed Barry beyond those stereotypes, and he’s still growing in unexpected ways (PLA verse hello!!) thanks to many great people in the indie space. I can’t wait to see where he goes next, ‘cause I’m not planning on stopping. :)  

I’ve kept Barry around for so long because writing him honestly has proven to be a great stress reliever for me. Like Barry, I’ve always set my mind on one goal after the next--breaks be damned--and, as a result, my life has changed so much over these past ten years (no crap, lol.) I’ve always loved writing, but my first job was at a newspaper, where my writing was regularly axed with red pen. I worked at PR agency, where I felt like I was creating supremely fake content, not my own words. During my master’s, my final project was revised over and over again by others before it was approved. Even today, my job requires a lot of “business speak,” so I have to constantly monitor my language. When I RP, I have full control of what I want to say and create. When I write Barry, I can write silly, heartfelt, unfiltered things and just express myself without someone always looking over my shoulder for once! Ironically, writing Barry (+others) helps me relax (while also still serving as a really fun creative outlet/escape!)

I took a small break from this site from 10/2019 to 05/2020 because of said IRL stuff and adjusting to That One World Event, but I’m so glad I took the leap back into this scene. As overwhelming as the indie space can be sometimes, I’m grateful for the people I’ve met here/have interacted with so far! So, even as I continue to pump out novels for posts, I hope people are still enjoying Barry too. We’re gonna keep shining a light around here. :) ]

TRIGGER HEAVY, PROPERLY TAGGED AND TAKING NO CRAP

i  usually  tend to write for trigger heavy fandoms (such as asoiaf, kingdom and others) and may incorporate some of it into my writing, muses' backgrounds and overall characterization. if you're bothered \ squicked \ triggered by that, i kindly encourage you to reconsider and not follow me. no amount of rp fun is worth your mental health.  i try to tag everything accordingly and i fully expect the same courtesy for our followers' sakes. be aware that there may be mentions of death, gore, violence, consanguinamory \ endogamy (especially when it comes to the lannisters and kekkei genkai clans), rape ( kingdom, though it will only be mentioned on the character’s backstory ) and cannibalism ( hannibal and kingdom ) , as well as unhealthy relationships and dynamics alongside with powerplay, and otherwise bad behaviours.  for all that is sacred, please, do note that i, the mun, do not approve, support or condone any of these actions or behaviours !!  i simply am capable of separating fiction from reality. as long as everything is properly tagged, with mutual consent and there are no minors involved (muse and especially not muns), . i support the right of a consenting adult to explore these awful dark topics in a safe fictional environment with other like minded consenting adults, people shouldn’t have to share their traumas to strangers on the internet to explain why they write what they write, be considerate. if that notion bothers you perhaps you might not want to interact with me, for both of ours sakes. fair warning, most of my graphics and aesthetics might trigger those who have xylophobia/hylophobia (phobia of trees or wooded areas), and considering it is a main theme here i will not be tagging it, i'm sorry. but its too many. however, if you want me to create a special tag for you, there's no issue! it will be either "[your mun name] don't look!" or "[your url] don't look!", whichever you prefer. QUICK EDIT/ADDITION: i do not believe that aging up fictional characters is inherently a bad thing - from what i understand, the whole appeal of aging up a character is that while you like their personality but you do not want them to be kids (for whatever reason) but insteasd adults. if you are one of those who think that aging up a character is automatically something bad (without even knowing why it was done in the first place) don’t bother following me because i do think that opinion is quite silly.

i love shipping but i like my ships to be devices to move the plot/dynamics/muses forward, every once in a while though i partake in some much loved self indulgent shipping. just because i ship a certain pairing don't presume that my characters are approaching yours with second intentions, please.   most of the time i like to reblog those relationship memes, so if you’re interested in a ship the best way (other than  sending me a message ofc) to let me know is by sending ones. there will be some triggering ships here ( like the lannisters, both cersei x jaime and joanna x tywin are my otps, and potential inter clan ships, like with the hyugas - i mean how the hell you think they keep the byakugan in their family?? ) that may either be played with trusted friends or be mentioned/reblogged sometimes, all properly tagged so you can easily blocklist/avoid it.  most of my muses are either bi or pan, those who are not will be specified. don't be afraid to reach out to me for shipping right off the bat - i'd rather have you to be open and honest with me about the interactions you want than lying to me, just know that there will be needed some plotting and threading first to see if your muses match. as an adult, my blog is smut friendly, i partake in sexual sunday a lot because some of my muses are very lewd in nature, you can blacklist my tag if that bothers you as well.

🌺 - How much do you draw on personal experiences when roleplaying?

Sometimes a bit too much. I've wondered before if this blog has become too self-insert. In my more self-aware moments, I deliberately take a step back.

🍀 - How much do you think you have achieved with your blog?

I did quit this blog in 2017, and it lay fallow for a couple of years. At that time, I thought I'd ticked every box on my list, and honestly had reached a point of burnout. It's interesting now to read my farewell message. Now? I don't have goals. Kisuke and I just exist here. It's probably for the best...

🌼 - Do you think you could ever stop roleplaying now?

I've tried. I honestly have. I quit for a few months once. But there's something about this creative space and creative mind that keeps luring me back.

🌻 - What do you do between replies?

Other than attending to the necessary demands of life, I enjoy chatting with mutuals!

🌸 - Have you ever been in a group? Would you do it again?

Not a closed group, no, and it's because I don't like the idea of limiting my options. As frustrating as it is to have mutuals come and go in the wild indie RP lands, there's always a sense of new possibilities that come with that constant change, and hence the potential for new inspiration.

🌹  - Have you met true friends through roleplaying?

I absolutely have! There's someone I meet up with IRL regularly, and that never would have happened without roleplay. We've been part of each other's lives in tangible ways for several years now. There's another dear friend an ocean away... and people all over the globe I chat with often. Even if we're online-only friends, that still means something to me!

🍄 - What’s one bad habit you know you have in writing?

Ooh, this is tough. I think I can become too indulgent in my own prose. I do love wordplay and rhetorical devices like assonance and alliteration, and sometimes it's probably a bit too stilted and overdone. But I like doing it! It makes writing fun for me!

🍁 - How do you want to explore your muse further? Is there a wishlist?

Well, that's the million-dollar question, isn't it? I'd like to say there are no goals, but I do want to see him grow. I'm not content writing a static character. I'd like to see him learn how to do the hard work in a relationship, when it's not easy or fun; to stop retreating to focus on outward things rather than push through the wall and address his own avoidance. I will confess here that while I'm leery of writing him in romantic situations, there are times when it would be nice to let him have some softness. He does miss the comfort of it sometimes, and he tends to be so detached. I feel he is learning to take ownership of his mistakes and become more responsible in his relationships by allowing himself to be more invested in them... maybe it's not a smooth or general progression, but I see encouraging signs and I'd like them to continue.

the physical stuff

    what i think about their url: short and simple is always better. seperating your words using x’s are a smart technique. overall pretty cool url!    what i think about their aesthetic: there aren’t many ‘aesthetic’ things on your blog which is cool because you aren’t a very big fan of those things. i’d definitely say the presence of a muse / universe page is pleasing.     what i think about their theme: minimalist but organized & compact.     what i think about their organization: very organized. definitely a step from the previous formatting of your page where there weren’t many links.     what i think about their tags // tagging system: tagging system is coherent and makes sense. there isn’t too much complication so things are easy to access. 

the emotional stuff

    how close i am with them: we are decently close!! we talk from time to time and it’s always nice!    what i think of the mun: nothing short of amazing!! very creative & dedicated. good at storytelling.     what i think of their muse: muses are amazing, always true to themselves & their nature, but there’s space for growith within a pairing. i like that they seem to have become their own people with the ocassional nod to canon stuff.     what my first impression was: interesting and different. i was new to indie when you first approached me and curious to explore new things. i’d never even heard of your faceclaims but decided to give them a try anyway. i’m happy i did!

So I did what I had to and I... left ^^; Yuju: And y’stayed away for a whole of 8 months, almost a whole year. So I’m here to ask ya the golden question: why did ya come back? Mun: first of all- the bro-squad chat. I was still kind of in there here and there and one of my ooc friends is in it too so I was never not rly up to date with what was happening? And then I watched pd48 with a friend and it gave me muse for the idol theme again. I had my muse and I just needed a face. I picked Yuju at first but I fell in love with Yena throughout the show and she fits perfectly to my muse. So here I am with this little whirlwind~ back on stage for a good show! Yuju: you got it! Jieun: I’m curious though- Jackson: not just you, Jieun. Jieun: if you could bring one of us back? Would you do it? And who would it be? Mun: Jieun’s arc in rookies is over. Bub you’re happy with your career and your life right now. You function as an npc for Yuju anyway since you guys are cousins. Jackson your arc is over too. You’re happy and big in the model business right now. Jackson: you got it~ Mun: dork xD Soyeon is happy as well. She’s successfully making her degree at university and has been working on building up her own studio to teach kids martial arts. So.... JKook: me? Why- Mun: I feel like I left your story unresolved in many ways. I always had a lot of fun writing for you. If given the chance I’d like to explore it a bit more. Yuju: but for now all yer attention’s on meeee, right?! JKook: YAH! Yuju: >P fyte me! JKook: you wanna go?!
