Been both getting and seeing a few asks about “well the Cream comic was pretty bad, no matter how long ago it was Jakei should still be held accountable for it if she wasn’t” and OH MY GOD I’m gonna scream.

Y’all. She was. Trust me, it was addressed around the time it first came out.

That’s why it’s so hard to find it, it’s been gone for a long time because the situation was handled a long time ago. This comic was made almost 7 years ago and was removed less than a month after it was posted (if I remember correctly).

It’s been a thing of fandom legend since I joined, an over and done with mistake of the past. Jakei has grown, the comic is gone, and she was never super comfortable making the damn thing in the first place. THAT’S why it feels so ridiculous and heinous to dig it up and harass her with it, because accountability has been taken.

Yes the comic was bad, but Jakei has done all she can to remove the harm caused. There is no point in maintaining malice.

Also I feel like boiling Jakei’s retirement down to JUST being about the Cream comic is very inaccurate. There have been various kinds of harassment and situations she’s faced that I’m sure have taken a toll on her.

Like remember all those lies Peaches and Lio told back in October? Remember how most of us fell for that like way too easily? I can’t imagine the level of emotional and mental damage that did to her.

I think it's good for everyone to really invest in a character that is to some degree a self-insert because there's no better way to safely analyze your own impulses, habits, and traits. Some of them are easy mode things you might know already. (e.g. Why does X avoid eye contact?) Some of them are questions which require some thinking, and if it's somewhat unpleasant work you can more easily forgive a character you've created than yourself and then over time accept and work with something that was otherwise invisible to you. (e.g. Why does X vehemently refuse to accept help without terms or payment?) Incomprehensibly mortifying, in a way, but man. Maybe I am governed by a billion little unspoken rules, and I should like. Write them down and see if any of them need to be revised. Maybe Valentine should let someone take care of her for a bit without her frantically promising undying service in return.

what makes a good horror story for you?

ooh ummm...i love it when horror can take me by surprise (NOT jumpscares. i mean unconventional stuff or the subversion of tropes/expectations.) and when there's good emotional and psychological horror. i prefer horror to at least scare me a little bit if i enjoy it so i end up being incredibly picky about what does and doesnt work for me sometimes. there's usually a good story and bad horror or vice versa and that sucks too :-(

Yeah I actually think Tom will cut his hair a little shorter than what it is now. I think he won’t do it until he gets the all clear from Nolan that extra filming or reshoots won’t be needed. But as a girl, I can’t imagine having long sweaty hair to deal with under a mask. I think about the same thing with sports players who have long hair
