This week I feel about as much use as a chocolate tea pot ……. After years of doing everything I can for James to keep him in education and work a roof over his head subsidising him with money and fags helping his travels to Indonisia his wedding and having him and his wife live here I now feel surplus to requirement I don’t feel like I am wanted anymore and although I want them to move on with there lives this feels like leave dad mum is offering something much better all hail the most benevolent mum and Owlie has no concept of what mum has done or better not done for James over the last 16 years. I am just yesterdays news, my wonderful sister is now the best all and end all around my parents and I don’t count anymore cause she is so wonderful it’s like look at me the hero of the day I saved mum I got dad to sort stuff out I apparently do and have done nothing to help not even sure why I need to be around to be honest Spencer is never home anymore and has done nothing to pay back any money he owes for over 6 months even though I have done all the work to get the details of his trust fund he has done nothing to sort it out for over 6 months at work I am the only person who didn’t get a nomination for the staff awards Lucy was proud to have so many nominations at the foyer but she didn’t nominate me but as the only support worker who isn’t a senior I guess I don’t count. Every time I do try to do things somebody goes no we don’t need that or I don’t like that or just no thank you leaving me feeling very undervalued and as for my marriage well that is rapidly going the way of my first one and to be fare it’s probably my fault I mean why would anyone want to stay with a worthless old cunt like me I wish I could just disappear and not be anymore like I said nobody needs me for anything anymore except as a money bank to give them money obviously maybe I will just go with my mum and enjoy the life after death thing cause it’s got to be better than what I have now

Disinformation:

I think Ben Shapiro’s video, “The Myth of the Tiny Radical Muslim Minority” is a good example of disinformation. In the video, Ben calculates the amount of radical muslims by poll data from every muslim country in the world. The reason I think this is disinformation is the method he uses is preposterous. He takes in the percentage results from a poll with questions such as, “Do you agree with radical islam?”, or “Do you believe 9/11 was caused by Israel?”, and calculates that number based on the whole population. For example, he implies that “One 2009 poll” from Indonisia states that 50% of muslims support restrictions around the world. He then calculates that percentage to the whole muslim population of that country and comes up with the number of 143 Million muslims are radicalized. The video doesn’t inform us of what poll was used, how many people participated and what were the questions asked. It’s intended to create harm towards muslim communities. It’s deliberately spreading false or misleading information with the intention of causing harm or achieving a specific goal.

Misinformation:

Last week on Twitter, the number 1 trending topic was UFOs. I was curious to why this specific topic was trending and found countless people posting images and videos of what looked like a long rod in space emanating lights. For a second I was convinced that it might be UFOs, until I read the replies, users were mentioning that this isn’t a UFO, but a unique satellite called Starlink by SpaceX. I think this is an example of spreading false or inaccurate information unintentionally, often due to a lack of knowledge or understanding.

Malinformation: 

An example of malinformation is the unauthorized sharing of personal messages or private information with the intent to cause harm. Recently, a photo of wrestler by the name of Nash Carter was posted online depicting him posing in a humorous manner while mid-shave, mimicking the mustache of  Adolf Hitler. Unfortunately, an ex-partner of Blake's obtained this photo and shared it widely online in an attempt to damage his reputation and career, falsely implying that he was a Nazi supporter. This situation serves as an example of how malinformation can have serious and lasting consequences for individuals.
