And then they found out that she's sick 🥺
Daycare Dilemma
Tumblr media
Word Count: 1.2k
A/N: What a precious idea 🥺 I love older brother Peter & I love that you guys do too 💕 I changed up the request just slightly but I hope you still love it!! 💕
The day started just as well as any other day. You had breakfast with your family at the kitchen table, one of Steve’s records playing softly in the corner of the room while Bucky cut your pancake into bite-size pieces. Peter’s spoon chimed against his bowl as he shoveled sugary cereal into his mouth. The sun was a bit bright on your sleepy eyes, but aside from that you couldn’t complain. The mornings were your favorite part of the day anyways.
Syrupy pancake bites scratched down your throat, but you chalked it up to having just woken up. Even Bucky could tell you were taking a bit longer than usual to perk up that morning, and he rubbed your back reassuringly as you took some sips from your water cup. You usually sat in your own chair, but today you ate breakfast in Bucky’s lap. He and Steve had some business to attend to at the compound so he soaked up every moment with you before he had to go to work.
Thankfully, the compound had a daycare center not far from the meeting rooms, so they knew you and Peter would be in good hands while they were busy. Mr. Stark had spared no expense on all the amenities a kid could dream up and then some. There was a massive indoor playground with swirling slides that led outside the building into the courtyard garden, a motorized swing set that took you far higher than the swings at any park you’d been to, and a trampoline built right into the floor, surrounded by soft plush barriers to minimize injury. Staff members were always available for the kiddos that needed more hands on supervision, while F.R.I.D.A.Y. kept track of the more independant little ones.
You often looked forward to getting to spend time there, but today, all you really wanted to do was stay curled up in Bucky’s arms. Steve could barely keep Peter’s hand in his as you all approached the daycare entrance, the boy’s excitement practically propelling him towards the door. Yours and Peter’s backpacks were slung over Steve’s shoulder, while Bucky focussed all his energy on carrying you. He could tell you were quiet, and clingier than usual; he assumed you were anxious about being separated from your daddies so soon after breakfast, and he wanted to drop everything and stay home with you. But it was a very important meeting, and a rather short one at that, and he whispered reassuringly in your ear that he’d be back before you knew it to snuggle on the couch for the rest of the day.
Bucky sat you down in the younger kids area, correctly assuming that your lack of energy today was an indicator of a smaller headspace. This area had a big tent full of pillows and blankets, a big tv, and some soft toys and stuffies strewn around for you to crawl and find. Steve came over with the backpacks, puting Peter’s in a nearby cubby, and removing the pacifier and bottle from yours before putting it in the cubby as well. Peter was long gone already, climbing up the playscape as high as he could go. You took your things from Steve with a soft smile, immediately putting your paci in your mouth and leaning up to tap it against your daddy’s lips. Then you reached out for Bucky so you could do the same for him.
“We’ll see you soon, okay lovebug?” Bucky said softly, tugging his thumb across your cheek.
“We won’t be long, promise. Love you, babydoll.” Steve added, and the two stood up, leaving you in the baby room as they went back out into the main room towards the exit.
“Make sure to keep an eye on your sister,” Steve called up to Peter, who was perched on the top level of the playground with an arm stretched out towards the ceiling, “And no webs indoors!”
Peter lowered his arm dejectedly, rolling his eyes as your daddies turned to leave for their meeting. At the last minute he called out “Bye Daddy! Bye Baba!”
The tv was playing Winnie The Pooh, which you liked very much, so you gathered some of the pillows and blankets to make a little nest for yourself. You weren’t hungry for your bottle yet, so you set it aside as you got yourself comfortable. The daycare felt colder than usual, and your toes were feeling like little icicles in your socks, so you pulled as many blankets as you could over yourself, just your face peeking out to watch the tv screen. Your blinks got longer and longer until eventually you were snoring softly in the confines of the tent.
It didn’t take very long for Peter to get bored of playing by himself, and soon climbed down from the playscape to look around for you. He might have missed you all hidden in your nest if his spidey sense hadn’t suddenly picked up your raised temperature and raspy breathing. Peter bounded into the tent and couched by your side, not sure if he should wake you up and ask what's wrong, or let you rest. He looked around the room for a daycare attendant or someone he could ask for help, but he saw a familiar face instead.
“Hey, Angel!” Steve greeted, entering the baby area while Bucky signed you out at the entrance. “Are you checking on your little sister?” The meeting had been just as short as they’d promised.
“Baby’s sleepin’,” Peter replied with a shrug, making Steve’s eyebrows furrow.
“Again? Did she sleep the whole time?” He asked, softly brushing aside the blankets so he could caress your face. He could tell from the moment he made contact with your skin that you were running a fever.
“Everything alright in here?” Bucky asked, joining his family. He could feel Steve’s tenseness as he entered the room.
“Looks like we’re gonna have to give this one a little extra loving when we get home,” Steve answered, scooping you up with the blanket still wrapped around you so as not to disturb your slumber. He’d wash it and return it when you were better.
“Oh? We have a sick baby on our hands?” Bucky asked nervously, mentally kicking himself for not noticing when he was feeding you breakfast.
Bucky gathered yours and Peter’s things while Steve rocked you back and forth in his arms. Then the four of you made your way back towards the elevator up to your home floor. When the metal doors were within sight, Bucky gave Peter the ‘okay’ to run ahead and press the buttons for all of you, one of his favorite duties. When the kid was out of earshot, Bucky leaned over to whisper to Steve, hoping you were still asleep so you wouldn’t hear his insecurities.
“I should have noticed, Steve. She sat in my lap all morning and I just thought she was tired.”
Steve shifted you over to one arm, your slumber undisturbed as you were pressed comfortably into the side of his chest. With his now free hand, Steve reached out to hold his husband’s.
“There’s no use worrying about it now, honey,” He rubbed a reassuring thumb against Bucky’s hand. “All we can do now is give her all the love she needs. And I happen to know you’re very good at that.”

Runaway Baby
WinterWidow x Daughter!Reader
Summary: The Avengers take a trip to an indoor playground with a baby that loves to climb and hide.
———
It was a sunny weekend, and the Avengers decided to take a break from their heroic duties and enjoy a day out with their families. Bucky and Natasha had obviously brought you along for the fun. The indoor playground was bustling with activity as the Avengers' children ran around, laughing and playing.
While the kids explored the colorful play structures, the adults found a spot to relax and enjoy some lunch while having the children in eye view. Bucky and Natasha sat at a table, keeping a close eye on you, while you crawled away as fast as your tiny hands and knees could carry you.
Natasha sighed, reaching out to pick you up and bring you back to the table. "Come on, sweetheart. You can't climb up there. It's not safe."
Bucky chuckled, watching your determined attempts to climb on the high equipment. "She's got your adventurous spirit, Nat."
As Natasha held you close, you were wriggling and squirming to get back down to set off on your little mission. Tony who couldn't resist making a funny remark. "You guys should specialise in baby chasing, seems you have quite the experience."
Bucky rolled his eyes playfully. "Yeah, thanks for that, Tony."
Natasha made the terrible mistake of putting you down to go quickly grab a high chair for you. Just as your little knees hit the floor, you were off, scurrying down over to the play equipment to hide away from your mama who in your mind was rudely trying to confine you like a prisoner.
Just as Nat set down the high chair, she was already heading over to the playground, now realising what she had done.
“Y/N/N my love, where did you go this time, come back to your mama”
Spotting you hiding under a slide, she quickly makes her way over to you and scoops you up. Holding you close to her chest, she heads back over to the table with an amused expression on her face. You who, despite being very irritated with your mamas choice in actions, ended up settling into Natasha arms.
Natasha then placed you in the high chair, and strapped you in securely to assure you don’t break your way out. But once again you continued to wriggle and attempt an escape.
Chuckling, Natasha leaned closer to you and began to talk to you. "Now, Y/N, you need to stay in your seat. We don't want you getting hurt, do we?"
With your tiny hands resting on the high chair tray, narrowing your eyes at Natasha, pulling off a classic Romanoff-glare. Natasha couldn't help but be amused. "Don't give me that look, little miss. You're just like your mama."
The other Avengers couldn't help but comment on the striking resemblance between you and Natasha. Thor smiled warmly and said, "She truly is a miniature Black Widow."
The day at the indoor playground was filled with joy, laughter, and the delightful chaos that comes with raising superhero children. And amidst it all, Bucky and Natasha cherished you, the spitting image of your mother, whose fearless spirit only added to the charm of their extraordinary family.

Prompt 11: Coffee shop AU
Wordcount: 1000
@wolfstarmicrofic
Remus had trouble finding work. He put in applications everywhere, for any position, because he was desperate. Despite passing all his courses and gaining the required GCSE’s, he bombed his interviews. So he had told his parents that he would take a gap year instead and get some work experience. Only no one called him for an interview and the few that had, turned him away within minutes.
After nearly two months, Remus finally came clean to his parents about his lack of employment. His mum had to hold his dad back from giving a few of the places he applied a piece of his mind. Never one to allow Remus to give up, Lyall decided he would open up his own coffee shop and hire Remus as an employee.
Everything moved quickly and soon The Full Moon Cafe opened its doors. A small quaint little hole in the wall shop that mixed coffee, library, and children’s playground together. One corner of the shop held a little indoor climbing structure, slide, and foam floors for children. The other two walls were covered floor to ceiling in books that people donated. The last wall housed the single unisex toilet and the tiny kitchenette space. It also had the counter and display case that showed off the day’s delicious baked goods that his mum made fresh every morning.
It took Remus some time to get used to the position and how to make all the different drinks, but everyone was patient with him. By the time his gap year was over, Remus was a pro and asked to stay on instead of trying for university again. He had learned all the regulars names, memorised their orders, and even went so far as to have them ready for when they walked in. Remus hadn’t encountered a rude customer or a confusing order once, that could also have to do with the fact that it was a fairly small town and everyone knew everyone. No one came into the cafe that didn’t know Remus was autistic, at least not until Sirius Black.
The bell dinged over the cafe door and the prettiest guy Remus had ever seen walked in one after the other. Remus had never seen anyone like them before. They were total opposites yet so oddly the same.
“I’ll have an iced Ristretto, ten shot, venti with breve. five pumps vanilla, seven pumps caramel, and four Splenda poured not shaken, but placed into a trenta cup so it doesn’t splash out the top.”
The look on Remus’ face must have betrayed him because the man looked at Remus and immediately changed his order. “On second thought, I’ll just have a tea.”
Remus nodded and rang the man up, asking for his name.
“Sirius. Yes I am serious. Sirius, like the star,” the man said while pulling his hair back into a scrunchie he apparently kept in his pocket.
Remus wrote the name on the cup and poured the hot water into it, placing the loose leaf tea into a disposable tea bag and setting it into the cup to steep before handing it to Sirius, the star.
Sirius nodded his thanks and set up at a small table near the entrance.
For the following four days later Sirius came back, once again ordering a tea and nothing more. Remus didn’t work weekends, instead his friend James took those shifts. James played football with the local club and attended courses at university during the week, so he took all the weekend shifts.
Remus couldn’t get Sirius out of his head all weekend and when he showed up for work on Monday, Sirius was there right at opening.
Another week went by and Remus and Sirius had started to talk more, just general pleasantries and small talk. Sirius never ordered anything more than tea and sometimes a pastry. Remus knew he could make complicated orders and he knew Sirius knew after two weeks sitting in the cafe and listening to some of the complex requests from customers that came in, but Sirius never asked for his original order again.
That third week, Remus had Sirius’ tea ready by the time he walked in every morning, not unlike the other regulars. Yet what Remus never said was that Remus practised at night after the shop closed up. He was determined to get Sirius’ original order right. It took him another week to manage it, and when he did he cheered and danced around the shop.
Monday of the fourth week, Remus handed  Sirius his order when he showed up. Sirius looked at the cup confused.
“Remus this isn’t a tea” he said with his brows furrowed and his nose scrunched up.
Remus shook his head no with a grin, “no its not.”
Sirius took a tentative sip of the drink and his eyes widened in surprise, stormy grey meeting golden.
“You made my order.”
Remus nodded, proud of himself.
Sirius took another drink and moaned as if he was drinking the best thing he had ever tasted.
The noise was absolutely obscene in Remus’ ears and his ears turned dark red and his cheeks flushed.
“Remus this is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. You remembered something I told you like a month ago and you, you practised this didn’t you?”
Remus simply shrugged like it was no big deal.
Sirius set the cup down on the counter before leaning over the counter and wrapping his arms around Remus in the most awkward hug Remus had ever experienced, and he experienced a lot of awkward hugs.
When Remus didn’t return the hug Sirius dropped his arms and stuttered through another thank you and practically ran to his usual table, forgetting his drink on the counter.
Remus looked down, seeing the cup, and bit back a laugh before walking it across the cafe to him.
“Oh fuck thanks,” Sirius mumbled.
“Hey SIrius?” Remus asked, “can we try that again?”
 Sirius smiled and nodded.

for the baby el au, what if one day (when el is much older like 4-5 years old) el breaks her foot or some bone and is crying and jack and mama and literally everyone else get really really worried
it came to no surprise to me that Jack had El on the ice as soon as she was 3 years old. Jack and his brothers had officially deemed her old enough that summer and took her to the indoor ice rink in Michigan at least twice a week. by the end of the summer, my daughter was skating circles around me.
and the following summer, at 4 years old, she was learning the family business; how to play hockey.
we’ve been to the indoor ice rink enough times this summer that i’ve learned the best thing to do is sit on the sidelines while my husband and his brothers do the teaching. so twice a week, at the least, i come to the rink equipped with a book, my camera, and snacks.
“alright, c’mon El-Bell! grandma is expecting us home for dinner soon!” Jack’s words echo throughout the practice rink, but it’s not a surprise when two seconds later the word “no!” is replacing his own.
El is most definitely a Hughes. ever since last summer, she’s lived and breathed being on the ice. she never wants to leave, never wants to stop skating. she’s just like her father.
“El, you gotta listen to your dad. if he tells you it’s time to go, then we gotta go.” Luke tries to help, but his attempt makes no difference to his niece.
“no!” her high pitched voice bounces throughout the mostly empty rink, everyone else having gone back to their homes already. i watch from my spot off the ice as my daughter starts to skate away from her uncle as fast as she could.
“El, baby! slow down! i don’t want you to get h-” i trail off as she trips over air, her body twisting as she lands on the ice.
her scream pierces my ears, making me jump to my feet. Jack, Quinn, and Luke all rush over to her as i run to the ice, stepping on without skates and shuffling as fast as i could over to her.
“shit, i think her arm is broken.” Quinn confirms my worst fear as i finally reach them.
“daddy! it hurts! make it stop!” tears roll down her cheeks, her face red from her sobs. my own tears well in my eyes at the sight of my baby in pain.
“i know, princess. i’m sorry. i know.” Jack appears calm, but his fidgety demeanor and the pain in his eyes lets me know that this is affecting him just as much as it is me.
“okay, daddy’s gonna carry you to the car and we’re gonna go to the doctors, okay?” i run my hand over her hair as i speak. El nods through her sobs as Jack slides his arms underneath her and picks her up, careful of her injured arm.
i let out shaky breaths, my heart pounding on the way to the emergency room.
“what if they don’t think it’s an accident?” i whisper to Jack. Quinn drives the car with Luke in the passengers seat as Jack and i sit in the back with El between us.
“what?” Jack asks, his head snapping over to look at me in my frenzied state.
“what if they don’t believe us and they call child protective services or something? what if she gets taken away from us? we didn’t do anything wrong!” my breathing picks up, bordering hyperventilation as my mind races with ways that this could go wrong.
“baby, between us three boys, we’ve probably broken hundreds of bones, and that never once happened with us. i promise you, it’s a first time ER trip, we were right there watching her, they’re not gonna think anything other than what it was… an accident.”
Jack’s hand slips into my shaky one, his thumb rubbing the back of my hand in soothing circles.
“mommy.” at the sound of her voice, i look down at El. “do you think i’ll get a cast like Lilah?”
i let out a weak chuckle at her bravery through this, and at the mention of her friend from the playground, who had a hot pink cast on her right arm.
“you might, baby.” i confess with a sigh.
“that’s so cool! uncle moosey can write his name on it! i like his name.”

Drug Dealer! Kenny x Stoner! reader
This was requested by @mccormickgf ! I hope you enjoy it!
TW! MENTIONS OF WEED AND GETTING HIGH, IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THAT SORTA THING PLEASE EVACUATE NOW!
Tumblr media
Kenny never thought he’d be in a situation like this, both romantic and work wise. I mean, yea, he does drugs, but he never thought he’d be slinging them for extra cash to be able to take care of Karen. But he really never thought he’d fall in love with one of his regulars either. You knew he wasn’t doing this for fun, he was doing this because he had to have the extra money, and of course you admire him too much to buy from anyone else. Weed was the only drug Kenny would sell, just straight bud and carts, and that was the only drug you would do. Truly a match made in heaven.
You had been buying from Kenny since high school really, you were the only girl who understood and was willing to buy from him instead of using your body as payment. You thought Kenny was attractive, but you would never stoop as low as that, and you had a good paying job so it wasn’t a problem. You and him had planned on meeting at his house when he got off work at the mechanics shop and picked Karen up from the babysitters, (it was really Kyle who said it’d be a good idea to have Ike and Karen play together). You got off work a little bit early so you swung by your house real quick to put comfy clothes on to be able to use the product as soon as you buy it.
You got to Kenny's house just a few minutes after he did, you opened the door and braced for impact expecting a little ball of sunshine to come hurling towards you. But it never happened, you looked around and Karen was nowhere to be found, but Kenny was. He was sitting on the couch sorting out product and counting money. It was like an actual drug den but without the hardcore narcotics. There were beanbags and child friendly tapestries, so it could be Karen's indoor playground but also a safe area to get high.
“Hey there hot stuff! What we looking for today? THC? Delta 9?” Kenny asked, looking up from what he was doing.
FIRST PERSON POV
“Got any indica carts by chance?” I questioned looking down at the table where all the Devils Lettuce products were sprawled out. Kenny nodded and handed me the cart, I pulled out my pen and twisted in the new indica cart. “Thanks Ken.” I turned on the pen and took a small hit to see how it’d affect me.
“It's on the house don’t worry about it,” Kenny shook his hand to emphasize the no money. I didn’t listen so without a word I threw down 60 bucks on the coffee table, it’s actually 40 but he deserves a good tip. He took one look at it and slide it back over to me.
“I said it’s on the house.”
“And I said it’s 40 plus tip,” I slid the money back to him, he slammed his hand on the money to prevent it from going back to him.
“I can’t take your money right now, it’s not that I don’t need it I do, it just feels wrong charging you seeing as how you’re a dear friend of mine.” Kenny looked me in the eyes when he said that. Dear friend of his? What kinda crack is he on? Kenny never spoke like that, and if he did he was high on something. He didn’t look like he was on something, but he’s also an experienced stoner so it takes a lot to even get him close to a high.
“Well then if you need it then take it, if not for you use it for Karen, I’m sure she’d enjoy some new toys or clothes,” I took my hand off the money and leaned back in the La-z-boy I claimed as my spot for when I come over.
“You’re not wrong, I’m sure she would, but I just can’t take it.”
“Kenneth McCormick, if you don’t take this money I’ll just give it to Karen and take her on a candy shopping trip so she’ll be bouncing off the walls as punishment for not taking my money right here right now.”
“Jokes on you, I can just drop her off at Kyles and she’ll be his problem when she's on a sugar buzz,”
“Goddammit Kenny, why don’t you just take my money?”
“Because I love you!” Kenny raised his voice a little, he looked down in between his legs away from me as if he was ashamed. I was taken aback, we’ve known each other since elementary school so it wasn’t a huge shock, but it was to my mind. He wasn’t moving, he was waiting for my response to his confession. I got up, moved his arm away from his face, and sat down gently on his lap. He leaned back on the couch to make more room for us, I took his face in my hands to make him look at me.
“I love you too Kenny, and I truly mean it,” his eyes lit up, they moved down to my lips as if he was asking for permission. Before he could with his voice, I moved in and connected our lips. His lips were kinda cracked, but the chapstick I had on helped to lessen the friction between rough and smooth. We pulled away and smiled at each other, he leaned over on the coffee table to grab his pen and the remote to the TV. Kenny turned on a movie, took a hit of his pen, and leaned his head on my head that was resting on his shoulder. I took a hit of my pen and snuggled more into his shoulder, we both exhaled the smoke we were holding in and watched the movie for the rest of the night as stoner lovers.
