Another Day, Another Fanny Chapter...

Well that sure was fucking something huh? I promised I'd at least start talking about IM chapters on here instead of keeping it strictly to the discord server so here I am. Though most of this I already said, I don't mind going over it again, since I feel like I can better organize my thoughts on this.

Also there's no word limit, which is also great.

MY THOUGHTS ON CHAPTER 348: RABBIT REFLECTIONS

So to start, let's rip the bandaid off and just say that everything Fanny said to Vicious in this chapter was bullshit.

At this point in the story with how Fanny has been acting around Cuphead I hope I don't need to specify how Fanny is in love with Cuphead when there's just too much evidence to support it. She kissed him because she wanted to kiss him, not because she was trying to see what kind of lowdown man he was. If Fanny had truly believed that, she would have confronted him about it long ago, but she didn't and we know why. And on some level, I think she knows why, too.

I think it's much easier for a reader to imagine this chapter as a conversation Fanny is having with her conscious. Saying something like this:

Is not her responding to Vicious but to her own thoughts that weigh on her. That kiss has been on her mind for about a week. And her reasoning behind it has changed even moreso. This is her settling on a final conclusion. This is her convincing herself of her own convictions. Of her worldview. That what she did was right, that she didn't ruin something good because it was never good to begin with. So that she doesn't have to confront that ugly realization in the pit of her stomach.

That Cuphead doesn't love her the way she loves him.

That last part specifically. Let's look back at the screenshot yeah?

-"She could almost see Oswald's glare. It was all the same dance. A carousel of pain and betrayal, around and around."

It's a strange thing, isn't it? To bring up Oswald. To equate Oswald to her current situation with Cuphead. Because that is essentially what she's doing, isn't it? It may seem odd, but I do have a reason for why she's thinking that.

Rejection.

Oswald broke up with her and moved on with his life, and Cuphead literally ran from her. Literally the only thing they have in common here, is the fact that they rejected her. But there's another thing too.

"No, she shouldn’t complain. She was lucky she’d found a man with a decent job. Little fights like these weren’t going to end it all for them. Besides, it wasn’t like marriage was about love and all that stardust. She had tried that avenue, and it had ended in heartbreak. Definitely not worth it. Dumb rabbit." (Chapter 74)

The bold is obviously about Oswald. Now compare that to now. Do you see what I mean? She fell in love again, and she got hurt in the process. Nevermind that in both these scenarios the men were also hurt. Especially Cuphead who trusted her and from his perspective, probably assumed she planned on using him for her own needs. Just like Meg. Just like Natasha. And in that way it's very interesting the wording she's using to describe Cuphead, and also Oswald for that matter, rejecting her.

Pain and betrayal. Very edgy, it's giving listening to that one slowed down piano version of Numb that everybody made fandom AMVs to back in the 2000s.

But seriously, why those words? It's a betrayal that Cuphead wasn't interested in the same way she is? Painful sure, that's kind of how rejection works, but betrayal really?

Or.

Is it a betrayal to herself? Thinking of certain aspects of this chapter as Fanny talking to her conscious would definitely lead me to believe that that's partially what it is. She'd already tried the avenue of love twice and it's ended poorly for her, so why did she do it again when she said she wouldn't. Why now, and why with someone like...like him? Like Cuphead? It's absurd in her head. It's something she can't make sense of. Doesn't want to make sense of it either.

So the betrayal could be referring to herself. But, I also think it could be something else, too. But for me to talk about that I have to talk about Oswald and Fanny's relationship because even after a disastrous break up they just can't stay away from each other~

So even though we don't have a lot of context for their relationship, I'm going to go off on a hypothetical that the "betrayal" in regards to Oz is that he offered Fanny (either literally or just like, the idea of the relationship with him gave her that impression) a way out of the dark. From chapter 327 that her home life wasn't great, and she doesn't seem to have any high opinion of her parents at all. Even the mere suggestion of going back home after her break up with Oswald seemed like a worse fate to Fanny than being homeless.

Oswald betrayed her because he was her first love, and also because she was supposed to be living the good life with him. They were supposed to be together forever, but then he broke up with her and next thing Fanny's hearing he's got a successful career and a beautiful wife and kids. She left everything behind for this man only for it to turn out like this. In some ways I can kind of understand what she means. But then she applies this to Cuphead and it's a bit stranger.

Because Cuphead never did anything other than offer her friendship and nothing more. Of course, at the beginning, Cuphead did have a crush on her, but by the end of the Wonderful Winter book he's basically over it. But then I think back to that book specifically, and I think about their interactions throughout and wonder if the betrayal is because Fanny misconstrued everything about their relationship because of how he'd previously acted. Is it the case, that Fanny thought they were both in the same boat, using each other as a form of escapism. She even calls Cuphead out for this at one point and makes an observation about it. Did she think it was the same for him as it was for her? That the feelings were mutual?

And, okay I actually can't blame her for that part. Look, no matter how you slice it, Fanny and Cuphead were just straight up flirting with each other in the early chapters. Not to mention Cuphead asking to take Fanny out to dinner? The Christmas group date? The aftermath?

At the beginning, there may have been mutual feelings of attraction sure but things have changed since then. And even though Cuphead put aside his feelings for her for good, if Fanny had shown any form of reciprocity then maybe things could have changed, but she didn't. But even still it doesn't really explain how Cup could have betrayed her. It stumps me and I've had a good nap to think it through and it's still confusing.

Headcanon! as much as I love when artists draw bendy buff I really don’t think he would be.

He grew up in a town where everyone had normal strength while he has demon strength,so i he probably tried to not hurt or destroy anything with his power which is why he is not used to training or exercising he didn’t ALLOW himself to try get stronger so he wouldn’t hurt anyone ESPECIALLY Boris!

But unlike bendy Alice was trained to be strong and not to hurt others with her power so she would be really buff 💪.

Also like to think that angels think bendy is week because unlike demons they can’t feel much of his power so they just assume that he got lucky in labyrinth

Cat-Dad AU 2

PART TWO!!!

Bendy’s about 4 years old, and things are going well for him and Felix. Felix is almost done with college, he's no longer zany, he reconnected with Nora and Sheba who absolutely LOVE Bendy with all their hearts, Bendy has been growing up to be a wonderful bright little boy (though Felix and Wilson wish his curiously didn't result in him taking apart the radio), and Bendy absolutely loves and adores his hard working Dad. So when Felix takes Bendy with him on a trip out of town to help Wilson with something work related, Bendy was EXCITED. 

They stop in a small town during their trip, Felix stopping to look over a map to make sure they’re heading the right way. Taking his eyes off of Bendy for just a second.

And a second is all it takes for Bendy to disappear on him.

Moments away from having a STROKE, Felix thankfully hears Bendy call out to him from an alley so he rushes right over. He'd be ready to scold Bendy for leaving his side, but that lecture never happens when he sees that in Bendy’s arms, is a wolf pup, shivering and whimpering as he's wrapped up in a baby blanket with the name "Boris" stitched into it. Felix quickly takes the baby from Bendy, telling his son he did a good job finding this little wolfy in need of help, and rushes to the closest hospital to make sure the pup will be okay.

Thankfully they get the medical all clear, little Boris just needs to be fed and kept warm, though he'd fuss too much to accept anything from the nurses, so Felix offers to try considering he's raised a fussy baby before. Boris still fusses a bit and doesn't take the bottle of baby formula from Felix right away, until he sees Bendy watching him curiously and settles down to eat without a problem, and falls asleep in Felix’s warm arms as the cat man purrs to sooth him. Bendy not once takes his eyes off of Boris, and sits in Felix’s lap as his dad gets the baby to fall asleep.

After the police try looking into where Boris could have come from, but come up empty handed, Felix finds himself having a hard time thinking about parting ways with the little wolf pup, especially seeing how attached Bendy is to the little guy, and decides to try raising Boris as well.

Wilson, Sheba, and Nora were THRILLED to welcome another baby into the family. All of them helping out so Felix wouldn't get as exhausted as he used to get by raising baby Bendy by himself. He also has an easier time doing research on raising a wolf pup since there are actual books on that.

Bendy meanwhile, would work hard to be the best big brother EVER. Sitting on the floor with Boris and playing very gently with him, taking naps with Boris to help his little brother fall asleep faster, doing whatever he can to get Boris to stop crying, and he even gets up at night when he wakes up hearing Boris fussing (Felix usually ends up carrying Bendy back to bed because his oldest son fell back to sleep on Boris’s bedroom floor).

By the time Bendy’s about 5-6 and Boris is 1-2, Felix will graduate college, and during the graduation ceremony when his name is called for him to come accept his certificate, Felix isn't all that surprised to hear people laughing and going "Aaaaw!" as all eyes on the crowd follow Bendy as he runs from his Aunty, GodMother, and Grandpa to get to his Dad with his baby brother in his arms. Felix laughs as he gets down on his knees and holds out his arms to scoop up his boys, hugging them tightly as the crowd laugh and applaud. Felix’s graduation photo is one of his favorite family pictures he carries around with him in his wallet.

Now for funfacts!

-Everyone jokes that Bendy is Boris's favorite. Especially when Boris's first word was "Beh-bee", aka his attempt at saying Bendy's name.

-While Bendy as a baby would bite people he didn't like, Boris, being a puppy, would bite EVERYTHING. Poor Felix wouldn't be able to leave a room without coming back and finding it absolutely destroyed while Boris would be in the middle of chewing one of his shoes.

-Bendy as a toddler didn't seem to want to accept the fact that he was too little to do certain things. Like reaching things on high up shelves. So he either tried climbing everything, or started trying to use his talent. Either way Felix swears he lost one of his nine lives from fear alone stopped Bendy from falling, saving him from getting crushed from falling furniture, or getting Bendy to calm down when his shadows got a bit out of control and started throwing things.

-Felix and Wilson would do their best trying to teach Bendy to control his talent, but with their limited knowledge on demons it wouldn't be perfect, but at least he'd have better control then what he would have had if he never had any help.

-Felix gets a kick out of getting Boris to howl as a baby. After reading through a book about wolves, he curiously looked at Boris in his arms and gave an experimental howl, which made Boris perk up, tilt his head curiously at his Dad, before giving the biggest, mightiest baby howl he could. 

-Due to being raised by a cat, and hearing Felix purr to them to get them to settle down and/or comfort them, Bendy AND Boris purr. Technically speaking, Bendy purrs more often, while Boris grew up trying to mimic purring when he's happy. Felix was at first shocked hearing Boris purr for the first time, until he started wheezing with laughter while rushing off to go show Wilson. (As a teenager Boris denies ever doing that and glares at Bendy when he brings it up to their friends, and blushes to death when Felix joins into the conversation.)

WHO'S YOUR ROMEO?

(dont mind the blurry letters above them, theyre descriptions of what they wear so i can visualize them--)

My Royalty au is originally called Julieta au (bcoz this is inspired of "Juliet" song by lipxlip which is the op song heroine run the show) and i switched it to 'medieval au' but doesn't suit it since Bendy's clothes doesn't match the era (and i have no plan on changing it cuz im too lazy WHAHAHAHA), so i changed it to Royalty Au, plus it involved kingdoms, knights, monsters, demons, angels, kings, queens, princes and princesses, magic etc. It was supposed to be a love triangle of us...

But then i added more characters

Here they are. And yes--MUGMAN HAS HAIR (ignore the arrows)

So here are their descriptions:

Cuphead the Ace - prince, prodigy knight of Calix Animi, foster father: king of Dish, King Kettle (or elder kettle behind the doors). He and mugs were found by Kettle when their house was raided by goblins, evil fae and elves bcoz of their potential magic powers. Kettle was a knight and king at the same time, he rescued them. Their parents are dead (not sure if it will be cannikin and demitasse from inky mystery) and so is the Queen, thats why Kettle vowed to protect people from monsters and is very serious abt it. He is the heir to the throne, his smaller twin brother is Mugman. Like King Kettle, he is also brutal towards monsters, he is 24 yrs old. He is infatuated to a woman who is queen of the oceans

Mugman the Beast Tamer - (beast tamer title is inspired by Cannikin) younger twin brother of The Ace, very close to king kettle, he has heart of gold, he has a girlfriend who lives by the sea, 24 yrs old

The Legendary Chalice - or Ms. Chalice is the general (or any rank called, she's a higher up) of the Calix Animi Knights. She was referred to as "Legendary" due to her skills and experience being so vast. She is 26 yrs old

Siren of the Sea - and that's me! (lol, cringe, ok lets do this in 3rd person pov) she is the isolated queen of the sea who rules every bit of seas and oceans. Seas sounds cooler that ocean right? And smaller too, so every kings and queens have underestimated her power. And also her looks, she prefers minimal jewelries and accessories, another reason for people to belittle her. Tho dont mess with her as she can get a little brutal when she gets angry. She likes the pacific ocean and atlantic ocean a lot. Specifically the Mariana trench, its full of monsters and leviathans down there. She had a stoned heart and always looked tired but she met 2 men who eventually softened her, tho she is torn between the Knight and the Demon, 25 yrs old physically, she was sitting on the throne lately, no one knew what her real age is

Cala Maria the Mergon (mermaid+ gorgon lol) - she is isolated as she is known to have gorgon blood. She was saved by a brave knight named Mugman so she gave him a metal ring with a chain holding a fish hook, she's happy seeing mugman wearing it. They had mutual feelings for each other. She knows Siren and is slightly afraid of her, tho she tries her best to befriend her. 26 yrs old

Alice Angel - sent from above, the princess of the Heavens and a healer. People always says that even tho she has horns. She has bright white wings which made her look more angelic aside from her beauty and kindness. She is vibrant yet calm and isnt shaken by Siren's cold attitude, instead, she always talks to her. Over time, siren seemed to respond to her. And thats when they began being friends. 25 yrs old, She is currently inlove with a wolf. And despite all her feminine traits, she won't hesitate to defend those in need when attacked, or help her friends who are troubled. She's a feisty Angel after all.

Boris the Wolf - a handyman who can do everything ; hunter, chef, play the clarinet, scavenger, messanger--anything u can think is something he can do. He is also a quick learner, thats why. He is close friends to a certain Demon and a lover to an Angel, 28 yrs old, he is calm and wise

(okay lemme explain this real quick--I ship Alice angel and boris, not based on Twisted alice and buddy boris, but rather on Tom Boris and Allison Angel. Theyre married in batim/batdr right? And theyre portrayed as Boris and Alice clones so i dont see why not--)

Bendy the Devil Darlin' or Bendy the Ink Demon - known as the Prince of Hell and next to the Throne, he has a playful yet dangerous attitude towards people, which made them fear him. They always obeyed his orders, and when something goes wrong well u might not like it. The only person who seemed to defy him was the Queen of the Seas, she perked his interest and somehow evolved into something demons cannot feel, love. He is 26 physically, but 257 chronologically, his race--Demons--has an ongoing cold war with the dishes

Holly the Sorceress - a character from inky mystery (i added her bcoz i love her so much), she is known as an archeologist, who continues to learn and discover the unknown. She loves playing with runes and runs a shop that sells potions, food and weapons that will help knights and adventurers alike. She's basically like a merchant famously known to play with dangerous runes. Enthusiastic, ambitious and curious, she is 23 yrs old (i aged her up a bit) and has a pearl necklace given to her by a mermaid friend, Cala Maria, when she helped her walk on land. She has her interest on Siren, a mysterious siren who acts cold. She visited her once to buy something, but she was busy playing with runes so she didn't get much hold of it, also she blabbers about how amazing runes and magic are despite her being a human. Whenever night strikes, she rides a broom and flies. She turns to a witch named 'Mayhem'. People say they were the same but some were defending Holly. Holly don't know about this either, so life continues. Little did she know that Mayhem is her Alter ego, she also has a magic cog from a mysterious machinery she has obtained during one of her digs (note: she only digs sites ALONE so this is her own discovery), tho it is very small.

(the Cog from inky mystery is inspired by the Gear in Batim/batdr, however in this au the ink machine does not exist--or might have been but crumbled to dust, anyways it does not serve something in the au)

Now the setting or place of it all? I dunno aesthetics but i like to imagine it as... Just ur usual generic medieval castle stuff, kingdoms. Also there are many kingdoms here, mainly:

Angels : hovering the sky

Demons: below(hell)

Dish : on land, apparently their land is huge and vast, but is surrounded by water

Sea monsters/leviathans: under the sea and oceans of course, full of corals

Normal humans (but they have access to magic) witch, wizards, animal toons etc : land, but separated from the Dish kingdom

For me, its hard to create kingdoms, but maybe i can get a sketch outta my head? That is if im in the mood

Some people of their races move or migrate to other kingdoms, for example, Holly moved to the Dish Kingdom.

I imagine this au to take place mainly on Dish Kingdom but i dunnoooo maybe it will be changed? Not sure

These are my thoughts abt it so far...

I may make some heavy art abt this (i mean, the FINISHED art and not a sketch one) tho im not sureeee since its hard to draw when ur using only a phone, and im drawing digitally using my thumb, but well i guess im gonna adjust myself, thank u for reading all this nonsense and make it up to the end. Ta-ta!

Anyhow here's how I see the questers (is currently going wild)
