When I was little, adults used to ask me what I wanted to do when I got older. I always said I wanted to get married and they would laugh, but I never understood why. I figured it was just a funny little dream that I would outgrow one day, but here I am at twenty-three with the same little dream. I understand now that it wasn't marriage that I was dreaming of; it was love. Now, adults call me foolish and naive for wanting 'true love' and tell me to dream bigger, but what could possibly be bigger than loving and being loved wholeheartedly. Sometimes I stay up all night, wondering if perhaps the love I seek does not exist. Maybe I am naive, maybe I am stupid, but what if. And so that 'what if' will keep me going another day and another and another until my heart breaks or beats again.
