It's crazy how three fictional characters dressed up as three other fictional characters from a Doctor Who parody that only exists in a sitcom can take up so much space in my brain

Also they're in space which is why the physics don't make sense... that's the reason... its definitely not because I couldn't figure out how to draw clothes...

Currently physically sick because after my fourth rewatch I’m now noticing that Abed never mentions Inspector Spacetime again after Geothermal Escapism. It’s so closely associated with him and Troy together that once Troy is gone, it seems to lose all relevance to us as the audience, and, no farther than we can disprove, Abed himself.

how do the inspectors meet their constables . are they assigned constables ? or is it like finding a date . is there some sort of spacetime tindr ? do they perhaps meet in community college study groups as people who initially have seemingly opposite personalities, but grow close and change eachother over time as best friends

DOES DOCTOR WHO EXIST IN COMMUNITY??

In S4 E12 Heroic Origins Abed is wearing a T-shirt with The TARDIS on it, yet I thought the whole Inspector Spacetime joke was that it exists instead of Doctor Who?

I can think of 3 possible explanations for this shirt:

Doctor Who does exist, but it's a rip off of Inspector Spacetime. Inspector Spacetime has been running since 1962 whereas Doctor Who has only been running since 1963

There just so happens to be two coexisting British TV shows from the 60s, still running today, about an alien flying through space and time in a telephone box with a companion

Abed simply has a Police Box T-shirt

No matter the reason, I feel like we needed some kind of explanation, right?

It deeply saddens me that the writers on Community do not know that fan studies (the academic study of fandom) is a field, not only because Community itself has been the subject of several great analyses (along with Inspector Spacetime), but because it is so clearly Abed’s calling. The entire field is a beautiful mash up of sociology, film, and media studies. Abed’s happy ending would absolutely involve him (and obviously Troy) finding this academic space and being taken so seriously by all these nerds. They’d get to talk about conventions and movies and filmmaking and the dreamatorium and tropes and be extremely successful video essayists/ podcast hosts. I could so see their ending being Troy hyping up Abed to give his first conference talk and all the professors going wild over him and asking dozens of follow up questions and having deep conversations.

Also they’d be the undefeated champs at the night pop culture time trivia games.
