It's December 20th, 🫶 International Human Solidarity Day. On this day in 2002, the United Nations established the World Solidarity Fund for the eradication of poverty and the promotion of human and social development in developing countries – especially among their poorest people. To strengthen the world's resolve to eradicate poverty, the UN decided to commemorate the creation of the World Solidarity Fund by celebrating International Human Solidarity Day on this day every year.
Solidarity is identified in the UN's Millennium Declaration as one of the fundamental values of international relations in the 21st Century – that those who suffer the most or benefit the least in this world deserve help from those who benefit the most. In the context of increasing globalization and its resultant growing inequality, it's becoming more and more important to strengthen international solidarity to promote a culture of sharing and giving.
On this day, let's all celebrate our diverse racial, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, political, and religious backgrounds and dedicate ourselves to work in unity with each other as we struggle to solve the great problems facing us today, tomorrow, and beyond. ☮️ Peace… Jamiese of Pixoplanet

This May, Free Art with us!
We want to free it from exploitative extractive generative AI capture and training without consent or licence! And encourage people’s human right to true self expression, rather than resorting to gamified prompting engines for a simulacrum of it.
HumanMadeArts.org is founded by a group of artists and we're going to have more to share as well, but our tent poll action for May starting with International Workers Day, is a 31 day art challenge! And we wanted to get this list to you at least a few days before that.
Use them to inspire some drawing fun, or work in ANY human driven medium, and post them with the hashtags #ThisMAIFreeArt and #IsupportHumanMadeArts along with others like #NoAI and #HumanMadeArts
Feel free to tag us in your posts too so we can re-share them! You don't have to be a great artist! Just a Human.
We’ll also be publishing Oblique Strategy like daily phrasal prompts as well that you can use separately or in combination with the lists. Along with Memes and Articles as well. We invite you to do the same all May using the same hashtags to still support the cause of human creativity and ethical treatment of our creative labour.
Look forward to seeing your posts!

Incredible. Palestinians gathered today in Nelson Mandela Square, Ramallah, in the West Bank, playing the South African anthem to pay tribute to South Africa for taking apartheid Israel to the ICJ over its violations of the Genocide Convention. It is us, as Africans, who say thank you to Palestine for being an inspiration for a just and humane world, and for being our constant ally in the struggle for liberation. This heartfelt and beautiful gesture from Palestinians comes at great personal risk, with the Israeli Occupation Forces committing constant atrocities against Palestinians in the West Bank. We salute Palestinians and stand by their side to demand an immediate ceasefire and an end to Israeli apartheid, settler colonialism and occupation. The bond between Africa and Palestine is unbreakable. It is our shared humanity — our heartfelt solidarity — that will bring an end to hateful violence. Palestine will be free!
-- African Artists Against Apartheid, photos by Alaa Daraghme, 10 Jan 2024
As the International Court of Justice prepares to consider whether Israel is committing genocidal acts in its war on Gaza, Palestinians in Ramallah have gathered for a rally celebrating South Africa, the country that first submitted the case against Israel and a nation with longstanding ties to the Palestinian cause. “This rally is actually under the banner of ‘Thank you South Africa'” Al Jazeera correspondent Hoda Abdel-Hamid reported near a crowd gathered around a statue of Nelson Mandela in Ramallah. South African flags could be seen waving in the background. “This rally started with words from the mayor of Ramallah, who said South Africa represented a ‘beacon of hope’ for the Palestinians, reminding them that deep-rooted relations between South Africa and the Palestinians go back to the days of Nelson Mandela.”

This is the story of Mohammed and Mona's Family:
In Mohammed's words:
Hello everyone, Welcome, friends who cherish life and spread hope and support to others. I'm Mohammed, a 30-year-old husband and proud father. My daughter, Mona, just celebrated her fifth birthday on July 15, 2024. I named her after my strong mother, who raised and educated my four siblings and me despite losing our father, our backbone, to cancer during our childhood. Our homes, our places of safety, were destroyed following an occupation order to evacuate. With no sources of income left, I took on various jobs to support my family and provide them with the essentials of life—food and water. I also volunteer to help thousands of displaced people with food and support, despite the risks involved. Compassion and assistance are vital for creating life and saving innocent lives with dignity. After nine months of enduring harsh conditions and displacement, we have made the difficult decision to seek help. My family, including my mother, sisters, their children, my wife, and my daughter, is suffering from severe health issues due to poor living conditions in tents, extreme heat, and contaminated water. Recently, my sister get affected by hepatitis, as well my daughter had sebaceous cysts near her eyes and others are battling new illnesses caused by the intense heat. Thus, we seek help since the cost of daily necessities in Gaza reaches $27 a day for non-potable water which is overwhelming. We have decided to launch a fundraising campaign to help us survive. We need assistance until the borders open so we can move to Egypt for a chance at a dignified life. Crossing the border costs $5,000 per adult and $2,500 per child, verified by official sources. Additionally, we need funds for temporary living expenses until we can secure jobs. With hopeful hearts, we reach out to you, our friends and supporters. Even a $1 donation or sharing our story can make a difference. Your help can save lives that are now appealing to you for survival. We know the challenges ahead are immense, but we believe in the strength of human solidarity. With your support, we are confident we can overcome these trials. Thank you, dear friends and supporters, for your love and hope. Here is a photo of where we lived and felt safe.
This campaign has been shared by @/90-ghost here. As of posting, Mohammed and Mona's campaign has been able to raise €2,551 of the €185,300 goal. That's only about 1% of the total amount needed to evacuate and care for the entire family. I have donated €5! If you can match my donation, please do! If you are unable to donate, please be sure to share and follow @help-mona for campaign updates.
