AITA for seperating my niece and nephew at birth when my little brother was waiting outside?

I (37M) just found out that my little brother (22M), who we shall call S, has a wife (27F), A, and now two kids (0F and 0M), O and L. But recently S has gone down a very bad path. In doing so he has not only endangered A, who sadly died, but also O and L. S was outside while A was dying and O and L were being born in a fight with me over his bad life choices. After the fight where I might have left him a triple amputee; a mutual friend, (40M) B, the leader of the religion Sand I belong to (400M) Y, and myself decided to split up the babies and keep them seperate so that S could not harm them. It was decided that B would take O and raise her as his own daughter with his wife and that I would take L to be raised by S's stepbrother, Ow and his wife W. With me sticking around to make sure L was ok. S thinks this was a dick move and has tried to kill me or capture O and L on multiple occasions. AITA??

its a plane crash that happened in 1972 - a uruguayan rugby team and some of their family members crashed in the andes and after 72 days trapped in the mountains, 16 out of the 45 survived. its a really fascinating event and i highly recommend the book alive by piers paul read if you want to learn more (theres a couple documentaries out there as well). its most well known for the survivors resorting to cannibalism to survive and i find the media fascination/disgust with their means of survival very interesting. i have autism and did a powerpoint on this in 4th grade and now have absorbed every fact
