SUMMARY: A small-town doctor learns that the population of his community is being replaced by emotionless alien duplicates.

This movie and its remake are the two movies the mod always uses as an example of how remakes can be done correctly. This movie deals with McCarthyism and the fear of your own neighbour being someone you can't trust. The 70s remake will be explained on that post, but hopefully you'll see what the mod means then.

Side note: the studio's decision to make the ending 'happier' than the original intention is heart-breaking. The intended ending is so dark and the movie would be better for it in the mod's opinion.

We finished with the Classic Universal Monsters, but our trip to horror history hasn't finished yet. Time to start with the fifties paranoia with a classic that was a bit overshadowed by it's remake, The Invasion of the Body Snatchers!
