Toasty's Tron Thoughts: Ares???

Been grumbling to myself all day about this so I thought I'd just complain on the internet and then live the rest of my life in peace haha

I only got into the Tron franchise midway through last year. It was kind of a sudden thing, but I found myself really enjoying the franchise as a whole. This being both movies and the criminally brief tv show. (Tron: Uprising was very good and I recommend it)

I also played a few of the video games but that's unrelated rn haha

So, naturally, I wanted to find out if there were any plans for continuing the franchise.... and now I'm hearing about this new flick.

I have (checks notes) many complaints. XD

First of all, not a huge fan of that Jared Leto guy. I've heard a lot of stuff about how he was on the set of Morbius and Suicide Squad and I dunno he doesn't sound like a cool character.

Also, both of those movies were flops, right? Do we really want him as the main character for a franchise that criminally does poorly in the box office, Disney?

Second.... uh, where are the, you know, main characters of the franchise?

Like, where are they.

I know its heavily implied that Kevin Flynn died and that Tron's status is a bit uh...

...vague... at the end of Legacy...

But I mean, Sam's still out there. So is Quorra.

The first film and the second film both followed one of the Flynns as they adventured through the Grid.

Are we just gonna... ignore that fact for this new film?

I remember reading somewhere that Tron's actor wasn't really keen on continuing the franchise because of how in flux it was, so I kind of get him not appearing (though I am very upset about that, if it's a Tron movie, Tron should be in it I love Tron sm :sob:), but I think I also remember Sam's actor saying he would be interested in returning to the franchise at some point?? So what gives???

I dunno, maybe it's too early to tell what's gonna happen in the new movie, like maybe as time goes on they'll put in more information about how this new picture connects to the older ones.

But currently I'm not excited. I'm kinda frustrated ngl. It's a bit of a ship of Theseus situation:

Can you really call it a "Tron" movie if the titular character isn't in it?

Is it a "Tron" movie if there aren't any Flynns in it?

A movie that's Tron in aesthetic alone to me, isn't a Tron movie, and doesn't really sound like something I'd be interested in watching.

Weekly Update is back!

Sorry for not updating! I felt bad whenever I had nothing to write on Mondays, but this will change since the Exams finished on the 15th! I also took a break from the internet, coming in now and then, haha! So, without keeping ya'll any further, let's see what I accomplished this past month!

Close to 11K words were written in the short story "The Healer's Legacy" which gave lore for Adrian, John/Elizabeth and Solathis! I decided not to work on it until I push new chapters in the main book, which will hopefully introduce the other two characters! Once the other characters have been properly introduced, I'll continue to work on it <3 I am however working on the background of Nathan and Natasha! The parents of Alex/Alice and the MC, about 8K words in, will probably be released for the Patreon story tomorrow! About 40K words have been read in the main book, chapter 2 part 1 was finished, and working on Chapter 2 part 2, gonna try to push to finish at least 20-25K words at the end of this month. Added a few choices during the scene where Marcus/Melissa are asking to go out with food in mind. The part where Alex/Alice and you are trekking through the mountains has been changed to give it a much more in-depth story rather than just mini fellowship of the ring XD

Mostly Hylics, but I've dabbled in several different fandoms. I've also written for the band Ghost, Pathologic, Knock-Knock, created the Neverending Nightmares tag on AO3 which still only contains the 3 fics I wrote for it, and am currently writing an epic novel-length Dark Souls fanfic!

I always try to respond to every comment I get since it's not often that I get any. There were a few that ended up slipping through the cracks of my memory, and to those I'm sorry since it now feels kinda weird to respond to a comment written years ago, but mostly if you see a comment that I haven't answered it most likely means I've already responded to the person on another social media site.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Definitely a tie between The Moon is Down and Chaos Inverted, but frankly that's to be expected since Gibby's such a doomed character. Out of all the blorbos I had to write Shakespearean levels of angst for it somehow ended up being the clay alien who's head looks like an orange and/or zoopals plate XD

7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Ironically it's a Pathologic fic I wrote two years ago called Like A Fire Melting Us Down. Basically a hurt/comfort fluff fic featuring Murky and Daniil bonding over both being autistic. It's probably the only fic I've written fic I've written that has a definitively happy ending, as in there's no room for darker speculation for the future or anything like that.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Thankfully no. If anyone out there doesn't like my fics they've done good not to harass me about it.

9. Do you write smut? If so, which kind?

No.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest crossover you’ve ever written?

The only crossovers I've written thus far both involve the game Knock-Knock; either the Lodger interacting with Thomas Smith from Neverending Nightmares or Daniil Dankovsky from Pathologic.

The latter comes from the fic Intruder, which I'm most proud of of all the crossovers I've done so far, yet I'm kinda surprised no one else has attempted this themselves or entertained the idea of my fic since Knock-Knock was what inspired Pathologic: The Marble Nest to begin with. I guess it's true that there are only 12 Western Knock-Knock fans left on the internet...

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Also thankful this hasn't happened yet.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, but if anyone wants to please let me know. I'd be more than happy for my stories to cross language barriers!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

One time my fellow Hylics fic veteran bombcollar wrote a story called Dedusmuln's Dossier, which is all about Dedusmuln documenting all of the enemies in Hylics 2, and which I contributed two pieces of writing for The Hand of Moodbleen and Carassius! It's an awesome fic I recommend any Hylics fan check out, and I had some good fun thinking of what I wanted them to say about these two uniquely annoying enemies.

14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Goddammit I don't fucking know lmao. I don't take shipping as seriously as other people do. For now I'll say Burakhovsky for all the beautiful art I've seen for it, the Hylics crew being in a queerplatonic polycule and, just to throw an insane curve ball at everyone in the room, Siegmeyer/Domhnall ;-)

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I'm gonna finish 'em all one day. I will not leave my children to rot in the pits of Writer's Block Hell...

16. What are your writing strengths?

I've been told by many people that they tend to really love the way I write dialogue for each of the characters I work with, original or already created. I'm also a lover of environmental descriptions and am always trying to build upon and improve in that aspect into my works.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Probably fight scenes since I've had so little practice, and due to a lot of the books I read not really having that many. I'm hoping To The Accursed can help me improve on that front, since Dark Souls is so heavily combat-oriented.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I haven't gone farther than using singular words in other languages as of right now. That's something I'm definitely gonna need to step up on later down the line, particularly since there will be Dark Souls characters I'll be writing soon who will be speaking some sentences in Latin and Welsh respectively.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

The Swedish metal band Ghost! It was a story called For A Divine Cause which was about Papa Emeritus Primo realizing he suffers stage fright right before he's supposed to start touring for the first album, and thus summons his younger brother Terzo to help shape him up into being a good front man.

It's without question the worst of my fics from a writing and technical perspective, but it was the first one I ever wrote so that's kinda to be expected. I am pleasantly surprised it has so many kudos and bookmarks after all these years!

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Honestly, I'm think I'm gonna have to make it a tie between Dedusmuln Uncharted and Chaos Inverted.

The first is the fic where I truly started getting more creative in my writing (and is my first full made podfic which I'm even more proud of!), while the latter was sooooo much fun to write and gave me the confidence to write novellas. The Hylics fandom has been so supportive of my work, and I thank you all for being the best fandom experience I've ever had <3

Some thoughts on my last Gamefly rental, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection(Switch version).

I never played the original games, just Network Transmission on the Gamecube, so it’s good for there to be a way for me and others to be able to play them again.

On the cartridge, the collection is split into two parts, the first having Mega Man Battle Network 1-3, and the latter having MMBN 4-6. Starting with 3, each game has two versions, like with Pokemon.

The game selection menu that you see when starting each collection up has a neat feature of having MegaMan.exe be there and talk when you navigate the menus(and when you press L), even being voiced by his voice actor from the Mega Man NT Warrior anime, Andrew Francis.

For all the games, there’s a Max Buster Option you can turn on that had the Mega Buster do the highest damage it can. You can bring the option up by pressing the -/Minus button. I used it quite a bit, though turned it off for bosses. It’s good for getting through maps and random encounters quickly, and scoring high rankings to possibly get better Battle Chips, or if you just want to play for the story. It’s not always an instant-win option, though, as some enemies, usually postgame ones, will need a strategy to beat.

There are several other extras for each game:

Trophies for completing objectives in each game

Free Downloadable Chips that are usually pretty helpful/OP

A Music Player

The basic controls for each game are:

X for the menu

A to interact with people/object or select options. It’s a good idea to run around areas spamming this in case an item or port is hidden somewhere.

R to try and jack into the Net if Lan is standing next to a useable port.

L to talk to either Mega Man or Lan, depending on who you’re playing as. They’ll give you hints on what to do next to progress the story. Sometimes they’re a bit too vague, though.

While jacked into an area and playing as Mega Man, you’ll encounter viruses to fight while walking around in random battles. Defeating them will get you, depending on the ranking gained at the end, either a Battle Chip or Zenny.

There are HP-Up/power-up programs you can find or buy that can raise Mega Man’s HP or give a boost to his Buster’s power, speed and Charge attack. HP Ups are used automatically, but the others need to be used manually from the menu under the ‘Mega Man’ tab.

I didn’t 100% the games, since some Battle Chips need a certain Battle Ranking to drop, and I’m really not sure how to manipulate the rankings to get to what was needed for some, plus the post games can be pretty difficult.

The Net maps in this game can be kind of confusing. I’d recommend using a map guide if you have trouble navigating them. Amusingly, there’s a bit in the credits where Mega Man gets lost in an area, so seems like they know it, too. XD

There's some notable upgrades and changes from the first game, from game mechanics to the size/look of the maps. 

Battles feel and load faster.

Navigating the Internet maps is much less of a pain now, and the areas look more distinct, though having a map guide for some of the more complicated areas would be helpful.

A new addition to this game is several ‘Styles’ for Mega Man that level up and unlock as you use them after Mega Man gets an upgrade a ways into the game. Here’s a guide to the Styles and how to get them. Later games expand on this.

Terrain effects in battle such as ice, fire and grass are also new features, ice’s effect being obvious, and grass tiles healing certain enemies.

Subships are another new addition to this game, which is carried onwards, which range from healing to avoiding weak battles, and more.

A change to this one that I don’t like that makes it harder is not having your HP automatically restored after battles, instead having to be healed by using healing Battle Chips in battle, using healing Subchips or jacking out. This seems to have been carried over to the later games.

In battle, you can now remove Chips from your selection by selecting them and hitting ADD, which, like in the first game, will have Lan send more chips, but now is based on the amount selected. I kind of preferred the old way, of just adding in more chips when hitting ADD and waiting for the Custom Meter to fill.

There are new purple diamond Item icons that you need to use an Unlocker item on to get an item from. You’ll need to go to the Subships menu and manually use it, as there won’t be a prompt just from interacting with the Item icon.

The first of the games with two versions, with a few differences between the two, such as available Chips, certain characters, etc..

MMBN 4-6

These ones gave the series a new graphical style and art upgrades such as new character portraits.

I was feeling kinda burnt out after finishing MMBN 2, so I decided to stop there, maybe go back to them all in the future. I did pop into each to at least get a save file started and see any immediate changes to each game.

It was good to finally play these, and for there to be a way for new players who missed out on them to get into the whole series, minus Network Transmission, at once.

Hey everyone, I'm turning in here to wish you all a very happy new year and I hope you've had you fair share of overeating and relaxation over the holidays and not too much uncomfortable silence or arguments with your relatives. Anyway the new year is here and it's hitting with really horrible weather were I live yet my motivation is super high to make this a great and successful year. So to keep my motivation (and expectations in myself) high, here are some goals I set for the new year (only revolving my blogs, personal ones don't belong here 😉):

Write three sentences about my day every day (not really blogging related but not too personal to share)

Play the rest of generation 2 and generation 3 of the Round Robin 2020 Summerset legacy (I plan to be finished by summer)

Continue playing and posting the Sims 4 Kay LEPacy (Look, I really love them, but my PC is crap and playing Sims 4 on it really sucks. So they'll be back once I finally get my sh*t together and buy a new PC...)

Start playing and posting a Sims 2 Decades Challenge! The 'hood is all set up and the Sims are moved in and I also already played one fam' for one day but then the game crashed while travelling to a community lot and I'm a bit anxious to return to the save xD

FINALLY set up a real downloads blog! 🤦‍♀️

Start a new sideblog for Naruto related stuff. I really got into drawing and writing 'bout my fan characters again and I don't want to post it on main. I love @pumiih's idea of a Naruto-multiverse and I have some drawings about my own different AU's in mind.

Continue my writing blog. I never really got it launched and my writing really never took off.

Related to this @dunne-ias' 2022 writing challenge to write 202200 words over the course of this year inspired me to do the same! I didn't write a single word as of now, but I hope to get some writing done tonight. I'm still actively sitting on some fanfictions and on two original stories.

Overall I wanna be more consistent with my posts regarding times, amounts of posts and most importantly tags! I'm still working on the right way to tag my stuff so reccomandations are apreciated!

I know, this sounds like so much and together with some other things I wanna do this year I don't know if I even have enough free-time to do so. xD But our moving to our new house reduces commute from over thirty minutes one way to under ten minutes forth and back! Adding up living nearer to shopping possibilities and my overall friend group, I should have a lot more free time once I'm truly settled into the house. Internet connection won't be a thing until at least three weeks from now. So don't expect any posting up until then. So I hope to come back to this post in 12 month to give an update how everything worked out for me! I love those videos on Instagram were people ask their future selves questions and answer them once the year is over so hope I remember to do this too!

Oh haha it was the long theory I wrote about, wasn’t it?

Well, it began when about a year ago I discovered that he was my 16x grandfather, which to be honest was quite a surprise as I am not even English. But that’s not why I am interested in him of course. The thing is, I had been interested in The Wars of the Roses ever since I was 12, of course that interest ebbing and flowing throughout the years. Out of nowhere this discovery came and it drew me back in but with a specific focus on him, Isabel Neville and Richard Neville 16th Earl of Warwick, because before, my favourite figures were rather Elizabeth Woodville, Richard III and Edward IV.

I’ve always been partial to him for some reason, I don’t know if it was the portrait, the unusual death or the plain drama that was his life. I’ve also found it quite strange how the most politically disloyal man of that time was one of the few faithful to his wife, it made me wonder but I didn’t go into this any further (though I had attempted a terrible go at writing the story of Isabel Neville then 9 years ago). But now I really wanted to read about him further (not like make a massive project out of it but just dip in), and the more I read the more undiscernable became his motivations and character and what emerged was a man more complex than I previously expected.

Scholarship revealed to me that he was apparently not mad, and although he may have liked a drink, was certainly no drunkard (at least no one at the time thought so). He had indeed masterminded some elaborate plans in his day and by all accounts seemed an illustrious and charming man who had some strong motivations and belief in those, however deluded those belief may be. Some trivia about his religiosity, idolation from the multitudes, patronages (printing press and foundations) and apparent outstanding knowledge of the law has endeared me a bit too but also showed me that there might be more to him than a greedy, foul-tempered himbo (we have histfic to thank for this ugh). Much of what we know from internet biographies might be true, but the issue is they are presented as facts whereas they remain mere assumptions e.g. that he had married Isabel Neville because he had designs for the crown - not necessarily the case as this marriage suggestion had allegedly appeared as early as 1461!

We all look at him as Edward and Richard’s brother, but the main narrative of his life is about his status as a magnate (an institution then heavily a threat to the crown). It all started looking more to me like a story about an overmighty subjects’ tension with the centralising tendencies of the government (despite his royal provenance). His father-in-law had been called ‘The Last of the Barons’ by David Hume and Clarence being his political heir, a personification of the last generation of the truly medieval aristocracy and someone whose reactions to (some aspects of) the new age were an exemplification of the old system of chivalry falling away and the anxiety, hatred and fear that people like him felt, made me very interested in not only him but also what he represented in the grand historical narrative. I thought to myself ���wow this looks like a fatalistic tragedy someone should write a novel about this’, alas no one had. So then I started writing my own story on AO3 perhaps appropriately called ‘A Bygone Era’ but more centered on his Duchess, Isabel Neville (because a piece of trivia I had discovered about her got me likewise interested). I got a lot of support from some of the other users (shoutout to @feuillesmortes <3) during the earlier chapters and that made me feel inspired to expand the story into a grander one about the aforementioned three figures, also because I was falling more in love with the aesthetics and culture of that era.

With that, came the need felt to do more research and with the pandemic hitting, I had more alone time than before. The more I researched the more interested I got and also frustrated that very little has been written about him (and not for a lack of sources!), and a lot of the times when I would come up with my own interpretation of the sources I would find that no one had ever thought the same thing as me before, so I also felt I had something to contribute. I’m not saying that I intend to make out of his legacy what SKP and others have made out of Richard III’s, I actually don’t intend to do anything but just put some possibilities and facts out there (some not even that obscure but just rarely circulated outside academic circles e.g. his role as good lord of the West Midlands, his legal judgments e.t.c). Also, of course I find this all very entertaining for some reason, it might be my lawyer personality? I mean sure, some aspects of his career and life probably also hit me on some deeper level, but I’m not interested in him because he was necessarily a ‘good’ person, I don’t frankly know the real reason I find his (and Isabel and Warwick’s) life so poignant but I know there is something there and I like challenges. Not to mention the AO3 story just writes itself XD, and often without my permission. The events of his life are fodder for the greatest novel themes, you’d be surprised XD.

Lastly, his posterity also baffles me. I feel strongly about how he is often used by Richardians as a tool to further villianise the Woodvilles, by Whig enlightenment historians (but that’s more Warwick’s issue) as a symbol of corruption - an impediment to progress and constitutional democracy, and by attention-seeking weirdos on TV to discount the current line of succession (have they never heard of right of conquest or attainder???). I don’t know, surely everyone has a right to exist for themselves, not just as someone’s brother ?? In such an individualistic age you’d think people would sympathise with someone who wasn’t blindly loyal and made up their own mind as to what their interests were and by extension how society should be (because in a pious age people invariably acted on what they thought was divine ordinance). Don’t even get me started on how he remains the only individual in a popular historical period whose image as a pantomime villain has never evolved (and when it is it’s always for one of the above motives) into one of a balanced human being. You must admit it’s rare nowadays to find a controversial historical figure who hasn’t recently undergone some romanticised revisionism!

Yeah exactly. Remember those bitches who cosplayed Germany and Prussia pointing guns at a synagogue? And those morons doing the sieg heil outside a holocaust museum? I remember the mature side of the fandom rightfully putting them on blast. Even during my “Hetalia makes history funny XD” phase as a kid I was disgusted.

I remember that.  I joined the fandom in 2011 and I remember the more mature members of the fandom trying to tell those people they were wrong and behaving terribly.

From what I remember, the late 2000s to the early 2010s were some of the worst years for the fandom, hands down.  That’s when the series was extremely popular and drew in a lot of rabid fans.  Unfortunately, this is also when a lot of awful things came out of the fandom.  And I do mean a lot.  I remember there being cosplayers doing Nazi salutes and r*pe jokes and Funimation’s creepy marketing of the series.  I’m not going to lie, it was bad at one point.  Maybe I didn’t recognize it so much as a teenager at the time, but as an adult, I can look back and say, “There was a lot of toxicity in the Hetalia fandom back then.”

But at the same time, I remember those mature members who would say, “Stop.”  Before I was here on tumblr, I was a part of the Hetalia Livejournal community, and that place was filled with members who weren’t afraid to tell somebody they were overstepping their bounds.  There were mods who did great jobs at filtering out all the nastiness.  They kept the community on that site very clean and organized.  I looked up to them.  I learned from them.  As a dumb teenager who didn’t know any better, I remember once posting something problematic and I got called out for it, rightfully so.  I’m glad they did.

But as the years have passed, a lot of the rabidness of the fandom has left as a huge chunk of them moved on to other fandoms.  Nowadays, the Hetalia fandom is smaller than it once was (not too big, not too small).

In my honest opinion, something I’ve noticed over the past 8 years is how much the Hetalia fandom has matured overall.  Those Nazi-saluting cosplayers are gone, WWII is barely the focus of any fanon or canon content anymore (and if it is, it’s done mostly in taste), “creepy” jokes are gone, there’s a more respectful attitude towards historical things in general.  It’s just a very peaceful fandom that focuses more on the silly aspects of the series, from what I’ve seen.  (Of course, there are still problematic things, but they’re rare and they’re usually called out on.)

I feel this is due to a number of reasons.  One is that some of the older fans who have been around for years have grown and matured (like myself). Two is that change of focus to mostly non-related war topics (in both fanon and canon).  Three, attitudes have changed towards condemning “problematic” things on the Internet.  Especially in the past 4-5 years, I’ve seen more people begin to speak up about toxic internet culture, when before it was just a hush-hush thing or, “Oh, its just funny lmao, dont be too sewius lol x3 rawr something something vital regions.” People are beginning to stand up and say what should be said, and teach others that what they are saying is wrong.

But unfortunately, what we do have to face now as a fandom is a negative legacy some of those bad fans left behind.  Now we have to deal with those negative stereotypes.

I think, as a fandom, it’s best if we do two things:

1. We need to set a good example.

IMO, there’s no use in getting into fights with some of these people who attack or harass Hetalia fans.  It’ll just ignite them more and only justify their own personal beliefs.

Instead, WE need to prove them wrong. We need to be respectful.  We need to call out our fandom’s bullshit when we see it.  We need to stand up and say, “This is wrong” AND EXPLAIN WHY.  We need to recognize our own faults and own them.  We need to be respectful of history, respectful of each other. We need to recognize character flaws.  We just need to be good people.

2. Avoid fights.

This is mostly regarding the Hetalia Discord raid, but all I want to say is don’t take the bait.  All these raiders want is attention, or to bully and get a reaction. Because that’s all they really are: bullies (probably young kids with too much time on their hands). Don’t give them the pleasure of doing so and hurt them back.

Ok, I'm kinda cheating here. Since this fic focuses more on Scarlet than Grant. But I fogured that since they were siblings than everything happening with Scarlet would affect Grant, and they do still share a house.

It was hard for Grant to see his sister after Tanner's murder. He still loved her, of course, but ever since Tanner's death Scarlett was almost a shadow: a pale version of who she once was. It was as if Tanner was her reason to live, and now that he was gone she couldn't find the meaning of life.

Duffy got what he deserved, at the end. His death, together with the founder of the Sterling legacy, was a small comfort after everything that happened.

"Grant?" Scarlett's voice asked one day. 

The fiasco was over long before, and only its end brought her out of her room. Grant decided to take her increasing presence as a good sign, but he was still surprised when she turned to him. Scarlett hadn't been herself for days, her sole purpose now to silently mourn in her room. But somehow, that day, she approached him.

"What is it?"

Scarlett hesitated. Her body was still tense, her eyes still haunted, but it was clear that she was recovering. Even then Grant could see that she put on light makeup, so much more than her behavior only a few days ago.

"He's really dead? Tanner's killer is dead?"

Grant nodded gravely. The whole story was more complicated than Scarlett knew, but maybe something good would come out of this tragedy.

"Okay." And with those words she continued on her way to the kitchen, her clenched hand still slightly shaking.

The more time passed, the more things improved. Grant caught Scarlett a few times in the living room, sitting with silence as her only companion. Eventually she started visiting the outside world, the time slowly increasing day to day.

It was when Brooke came for another weekly visit that Grant was really caught off guard. Scarlett neared them, the tapping of her high heels sharing the news, before she called Brooke's name.

Grant's friend raised her head. She met Scarlett's eyes, polite curiosity lighting up her eyes. "Yes?"

"You're a reporter, right? I want you to interview me."

Brooke shook her head. "It's complicated, Scarlett. I don't know if I can do this, especially not now."

"It's about Tanner."

They all froze. Brooke met Grant's eyes, silently questioning, and Grant nodded in response. She sighed before turning back to Scarlett, her shoulders taut from the memories. "What about him?"

"I need to talk about him. To say goodbye last time," Scarlett swallowed, "for closure."

"You don't mind the publicity?"

Scarlett shook her head. "I can deal with it."

After a slight pause, Brooke gave in. "Fine."

True enough, after the article came out, Scarlett's confidence returned. It took a while, but after the drama died down, Scarlett could finally leave the house in peace. Once again she could do whatever she pleased, say whatever she wanted, and talk to whoever was worth her time. The only sign of her emotional toll were her eyes, which were still filled with deep sadness.

But that's a part of life, and Grant knew that at the end of the day, Scarlett was happy. And that was all that mattered.

I may continue it one day.  By comments and bookmarks (which I guess is most accurate?) that’s a brand new fic, Hand in hand, an Endgame fix-it, cause that’s what we gotta do.

Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story: Literally, any way you look it’s gonna be Starting Over, which is a legacy I don’t think I’m ever gonna beat unless I get my shit together with Marvel, and I’m not sure a legacy I’m proud off... It was written in three weeks, daily updated and then expanded into a series that people still cry at me is abandoned... But there’s also a certain fondness cause it was also my first break at uni back when it still seemed simple and a first multi-chapter I ever finished. Also likely first and only time I wrote so regularly.

Recently I've unsubscribed from several Instagram pages dedicated to memes as they my flooded dash and I spent too much time on them. Last two days I've played TS3 world adventures on my laptop without internet connection and it was great

Ooh boy, if I was able to get rid of all the memes pages I follow, I’d have so much free time on my hands. But also, I mean...memes.

As for social media, I wish I could deactivate my Facebook account. I really wish. But sadly, all the people I know irl are there. I have to stay there to keep in touch with them. We still share a lot of school stuff there, I’d be lost without it. But those are the only reasons I’m there, I never post on it anymore. I actually deleted most of my photos and old status updates and unfollowed most pages.

I’m going to repeat myself here but I’m so glad I got rid of Twitter. I loved it there, but at the same time, it fueled my negativity. Even when I found and muted or straight up unfollowed the biggest sources of it, I wasn’t happy. So I just stepped into the daylight and let it go and it was the best decision I could make. Even though now tumblr will probably have to deal with my random thoughts. I need to find a special tag for that. Not just “nonsims” or “saviorhide”. Maybe “simmeronnie is losing it again”.

I recently went back and started this legacy. (Just got to the Gen 5 switch). I think Rachel is absolutely adorable.

Ahh, no way! I hope you’re having fun even though it’s a total mess :D I have to agree though, I love Rachel, she’s awesome.

Watch out, tiny gen 4 rant coming. When I have nothing else to do and I feel inspired, I rewrite gen 4 because I love these characters and they deserve a way better story. I consider the stories they got in the legacy the first drafts/starting point/base or something like that. So in some way, most of this stays in the “new canon”, it’s just thought through better or changed a little bit.

Okay, that wasn’t really a rant but seriously, stop me whenever I seem like I’m about to start rambling about gen 4.

Don't let them get to you. Something I have learned as I've grown older: Hobbies come and go. One minute you'll find enjoyment in something and the next it doesn't hold the same appeal. Some times you'll come back to that hobby and some times you never pick it up again. Taking a break is something everyone needs. They even tell new parents to take a little "me time" so that they don't get overwhelmed. Taking a moment to collect yourself is understandable.

Taking breaks from tumblr is good for your sanity. I had to last month for the sake of my mental health I got stressed out falling behind here and dealing with job stuff. Just like for you with school, job takes priority over my blog. I’ve taken so many breaks, honestly it’s fun to enjoy other hobbies and do other things.

So I kinda didn’t want to address this anymore because I feel like I’ve said everything in my lengthy answer to that ask but I just wanna say thank you for writing all of this. I didn’t feel bad when I got this, the anon didn’t change my opinion, I still believe everyone has the right to take a break, leave tumblr behind for a bit and not feel sorry about it. Take that me time and come back better than ever (or not if you don’t feel like, that’s fine too)! I was still worried about posting this answer though. It was very fun and everyone looked so good in their costumes! One of my classmates wore this 20s-like dress and oooh boy. She was gorgeous. Just...leaving on that day was really bittersweet. Part of me was like “yas, we’re done with this place!” but the other part of me already missed it. And yeah, our teacher didn’t forget to remind us that all of us might never meet again. There are reunions, it’s a tradition, but there’s always someone who can’t come.

Okay, moving on or else I’ll start crying, and I’ve already cried a lot today. Looking at you, GoT episode 4.

Alright guys, I have an idea. Shoot me a message and we can talk about it! I’m down for this. Here’s just a brief description of everyone I can offer (in case someone else would like a sim and would like to know what they’re signing up for), we can talk more in depth in the messages later. I have one mean pink girl who loves robots, then this one that I’ve shown (she doesn’t have too much personality yet, but she hates her other sister and loves videogames), an agender person with pink skin, white hair and white eyes (loves animals and is the total opposite of their mean twinsister - and yet they’re still best friends somehow) and one pink boy with white eyes who just aged up into a child so I have no idea what he’s going to be like yet. I just remember he got the No Sense of Humor trait.

Can I have a wish though? If I send you one of these sims, would you please share with me the sim they end up with? I would love for them to get together in my game as well.

Side note, can you already tell my bpr is going to be a bigger mess than all my other legacies combined?

i keep changing my mind depending on how i’m feeling. all my fics have their good and bad points (some more than others lol), but i wouldn’t have gotten past my primary inclination to Not Do Anything and finished them if there wasn’t something about the fic that got me fired up in the first place.
