when Owen’s dad is holding her in the shower and light is flickering on him in the same way the tv would every time we saw him, and he looks like a bit like Mr. Melancholy???

Can we all do a Goncharov with The Pink Opaque? Like I'm so glad it's on Peacock now, I haven't watched it since I was like 6 and my older sister would watch it. I wonder if it's as scary as I remember? I can't wait to see Tara and Isabel again! I love the theme song so much...

thinking about ‘clawing your way up through the tightly packed dirt’ as a metaphor for transitioning and choosing to struggle with your identity rather than pretend it’s not there.. not knowing which way is up or how far the surface is but digging anyway… the exhaustion and the knowing you can never go back.. and outside of the burial the movie is a powerful message to trans people since it instills so much fear of not living authentically.. “there is still time” until the ending scene where you think owen might die without ever going with maddy and transitioning because she was right all along…

I hope I Saw the TV Glow convinces people to learn crochet to make Isabel's hat. I could make that hat.
edit after staring and drawing over screenshots:
Isabel’s hat has ~41 rows of simple single crochet, give or take one or two, with the shape created using decreases rather than any back-row stitches.
It’s very light yellow when in regular lighting.
the number of stitches in each lower row seem to increase until the very end. (it’s obviously much smaller at the top than the rim given how it sits on her head)
The bottom rim is simply flipped up

Just watched "I saw the TV glow" and it's so sexy how they made maladaptive daydreaming into a horror film

I need to sit with it more but i do think world's fair worked better for me because it was clear that anything casey believed beyond real life was a consequence of her isolation induced delusion but i dont think tv glow succeeds in trying to blend together the literal and the allegorical or questioning the characters' versions of reality in the same way
