“‘Eyo, how’s it goin’? I heard ya have a friend, though you haven't been getting along so well… So, how did you meet her if it was safe to ask?”

ISABELLE: "We get along fine. I was just giving him shit for nothing."

ELLIOT: "It be like that."

ISABELLE: "It be like that."

ELLIOT: "On how I met her, we met from simply being in the same class in school. We became best friends pretty fast from having similar interests."

Elliot shoots up in bed after involuntarily sending out electricity that engulfs Intel and causes him to collapse.

As he starts to get out of bed he reaches over and pulls a discarded white shirt on that was lying underneath his covers next to where he was sleeping.

He helps Intel back up, in-taking the electricity back off of the rabbit, un-paralyzing them, apologizing profusely as he heads down-stairs towards the front door, opening it to...

ISABELLE: "I messaged you SEVERAL times that I was coming over and you don't even greet me at the door? Rude~!"

ELLIOT: "I didn't put my phone on charge after coming home! I was asleep! I'm sorry!"

ISABELLE: "I'm just fuckin' with you dude! It's fine! It was a dick of me to come over without much warning anyway. Can I come in?"

ELLIOT: "Yeah yeah, come up into my room."

ISABELLE: "Sick."

Pichu's evolve from happiness/friendship if I remember correctly, do you know what event made Elliot evolve?

ELLIOT: “Oh. I think I evolved some time during middle school... Yeah I remember!”

It was a sunny day.

I was sitting on the hide-out’s patio.

I brought Isabelle with me because she was the only person in my class who actually wanted to be my friend, only person my age who called me by the right name and pronouns... And she was just super nice! And I get a feeling that other students weren’t really nice to her either.

So I invited her over to my special hide-out! Where only me and my Obāchan knew about. Well I had to tell her in-case I hid out one day and didn’t come home and got her worried. Where was I... Oh yeah.

We were playing naughts n crosses. I beat her every time, either making it tie or that I won. I remember it really clearly now!

She was super mad that I was really good at the game!

I remember her saying “Are all boys good at this or is it just you?”

I looked shocked for a moment because she had actually called me by what I was. A boy.

I remember I packed up my book and pencil case after that and we started talking about school. She said that I should join some clubs but I declined and told her that none of them took my fancy. I only was really interested in contests, even if that interest was considered ‘feminine’ to most of the other students at my school.

She replied looking a bit fed up, telling me she had the same interest, but that others would just tease her and tell her that she’d never be able to make it because she was an ugly dyke. They would also bully her for not thinking like other people and having weird reactions to things just because her brain wasn’t wired like a normal Pokémon’s was!

I snapped back at her telling her that she those other people were wrong and just stupid idiots! If they treated her different because of her autism or interests! I basically drilled in support at her for a good 20 minutes.

At the end she was crying in happiness that somebody actually cared about her. Because at home all her mom wants her to do is things that. Well. Her mom wants her to do! And her dad didn’t really do much but drink adult drinks from bottles mom would bring home.

I offered to help her train up and make ideas for contests. Maybe even helping with mine at the same time. I remember that she accepted happily and gave me a huge hug.

“Thank you. Thank you for being my best friend Elliot. You make things better here.”

I heard her say that.

Nobody had told me that before.

And I smiled. Real wide until my face hurt.

And before I knew it, I was standing before her as a Pikachu!

The next day at school was a bit awkward, she’s the class rep and made me stand up to announce that I evolved and looked different.

ELLIOT: “. . . I was just. Jealous okay. You know. I’m just. Jealous that she has a mother like that to care for her. I. I don’t wanna talk about it.”

ISABELLE: “Ah. Yeah. That... Okay yeah I get it. You don’t need to say any more. You wanna get a popsicle and blow this joint? I got kicked out of the water slides and pools for doing tricks that are apparently ‘too dangerous’ and ‘a hazardous inspiration to the kids’ like dude it’s not hazardous if I know what I’m doing!”

The joke seems to cheer Elliot up a bit as they start to walk around to find Jonny, to ask to take them back home.

Elliot, Isabelle and Jonny have left the event.

Isabelle got kicked out of the water slides area for violating their safety rules. She’s browsing her phone.

JONNY: “Hey, Hey Issy. Issy.”

ISABELLE: “Yea?”

JONNY: “I think I just saw Elliot board the Ferris wheel with another Pikachu.”

ISABELLE: “Wait. WAIT. THE DUDE’S GOT A DATE!?”

JONNY: “Holy smokes he totally does! That’s amazing!”

Isabelle then sends off a text to his phone simply saying “Nice going dude! ;)”

JONNY: “Alright you two it was a bit of a drive, but now we’re here. If you need me for anything I’ll be near the eating area closest to the beach. If you need any spare cash for food feel free to ask me you two. I don’t want ya walking around hungry alright.”

ISABELLE: “Okay okay dad I get it. I’ll be over at the water slides i’ll come see you when I get hungry.”

ELLIOT: “THERE’S A FERRIS WHEEL? HELL YEAH! HERE THE COOLEST PIKACHU ON THE WORLD COMES FERRIS WHEEL!”

ISABELLE: “Hey dad.”

JONNY: “Hey kiddo... Why don’t ya sit down. I think we have to have a talk.”

Isabelle makes her way over with the tissue in her hand to the couch and sits beside her Lycanroc father. The air is tense. Silence sits between everyone before Isabelle speaks up.

ISABELLE: “I don’t want to go home.”

She starts tearing up again. She’s afraid of her mother now after what she’s done. Truly she was always weary of her mother but this takes the cake.

JONNY: “I’m not gonna make ya have to come back there if you don’t want to. That would just be dangerous. I have an idea of what to do though. Would you like to hear it?”

Isabelle simply nods, wiping away excess tears with her tissue.

JONNY: “Well. I know that after this I’m not letting her anywhere near you that’s for sure. If you want you can stay here at Bean’s place. I can go stay at a Motel nearby run by one of my friends from College. I can go back home and slowly get more of your stuff for you since I have my own pair of keys. I’ll have my phone recording the whole time if she tries to yell at me or hurt me for helping you for evidence. Then we can go to court and I can get custody over you. And we can get a restraining order against her and move somewhere nice. Do you like how that sound?”

The daughter nods.

ISABELLE: “That sounds really good. Th. Thank you.”

BEAN: “I still can’t believe she did that. She seemed nice whenever I visited.”

JONNY: “Yeah well. Sometimes people can pretend things very well. And Carol is... a master pretender I’ll say that.”

Isabelle then gives her father a hug. A very tight hug.

ISABELLE: “Thank you for supporting me dad... Even if you don’t understand fully I just. Thank you.”

Jonny hugs her in return, giving her back soft pats.

JONNY: “No problem Is. I’d have to be a pretty stupid father to not support my own daughter heh.”

He releases her and stands up, putting his now empty glass of previously water on the coffee table.

JONNY: “I think I should head off now. I’ll probably go get your things tomorrow in the morning or... maybe the day after tomorrow. It’s getting quite late now.”

He ruffles her hair leaving Isabelle smiling as he begins to walk towards the front door before he stops.

JONNY: “Also one last thing kid. I love you.”

Isabelle replies. “I love you too dad.”

The father leaves, having done his job of checking in on Isabelle and helping her, explaining what he plans for the future after this. He just wants to keep his daughter happy and safe. And that’s what he plans to do. He gets in his car and drives off towards a place he’s visited many times in the past and is going to be staying at for a while once again.

After a drive that felt like forever. Jonny finally turns into the driveway at Bean’s residence. He turns off the car’s engine and just sits there for a minute. Rubbing his tired eyes and checking if he turned the headlights off. He grabs the bag of Isabelle’s belonging’s and gets out of the car. Putting the keys in the door and locking it, he follows it up by rattling the handle to check that it’s locked properly.

He wanders up to the front door and ding’s the doorbell. . . . It opens.

“Hello?”

“Ah. Hi. I’m Jonathan. Isabelle’s father.”

“Oh! Issie said you were coming and that it was okay. Come in come in, get out of the rain.”

“Thank you.”

The Lycanroc walks into the house and makes sure to dust his feet off at the doormat. He want’s to be polite.

“I have a bag of Isabelle’s clothes and some other things.”

“Isabelle’s in the bathroom. Down that hallway to the left.”

Bean watches as Jonny walks down the hallway and very lightly knocks on the door.

“Isabelle? I have your thing’s. Would you like them?”

“Yes please... Thank you dad.”

The girl opens the door slightly and sticks her arm through. The bag’s handles get placed into her palm and she retrieves the bag and closes the door. Jonny lets out a quiet relieved sigh as he walk’s back to Bean at the other end of the corridor.

“I don’t mean to be a bother but is there somewhere I can get a drink and maybe sit down.”

“Of course! Over here.”

The shiny eelektross guides the father to the kitchen. Where she gets him a glass of water before guiding him to the couch in the lounge room. Jonny sit’s down and takes the glass and begins to slowly drink it. Bean sits down on a chair in the room. Both of them wait for Isabelle to come out of the bathroom.

It seems that Isabelle has gone silent at this question. She huddles her arms around herself. Starting to feel the cold from the rain.

She looks at Bean and taps her. Asking if they can go now. Bean nods. Walking to show the way. Isabelle follows her.
