From my still-untitled Alight With Happiness fest fic, coming later this month:

“Stop—your dress…” his voice was stern, even with the effort it took for speech. Lily shook her head rapidly, pulling back her blood-soaked sleeve to see the wound. It was a clean slice, which bode well for quick healing.

“I don’t care about the dress, James,” she whispered shakily, pressing against the wound again and looking around for her discarded bouquet. His hand—lacking its usual warmth—rested over hers, fingers dancing around her wrist. She spotted the trail of ribbon and quickly summoned the flowers to her, immediately ripping out the stalk of dittany she’d embedded amongst the peonies and other greenery. It was no essence of Dittany, but should at least slow the bleeding and scab the wound until they could get it properly looked at.

A weak sigh. “Gods, you’re amazing.”

“And you’re a bloody liar, James Potter,” she chided as she crumbled the dried leaves in her hand, fingers shaky and stained with his blood. “‘Exceptionally lucky’ my arse.”

Hello, hello! Would absolutely love to hear about '24 Hour Party People' for the wip ask game!

i got u bestie

24 hour party people is meant to be a drabble collection/a dumping ground for unconnected short pieces if i can ever get myself to work on them, the central idea being that they're all set in parties/party-related prompts because if there's one thing i love it is an Event. i constantly find myself wishing i could write more party scenes whenever i put them in my longer fic but am constrained by the plot (boo hiss) so this was going to be pure indulgence + perhaps prompts from u guys!!

and romeo and rosaline is...the fic i accidentally deleted 2k words of because i wrote it straight into an ao3 draft and then forgot to move it out before 1 month went by. ha HA! it's a regency romeo & juliet AU (but tweaked because i am the worst of all time) which i believe was a prompt someone sent in! i thought i'd posted a snippet from it somewhere but the only thing i can find that i screenshotted is. fucking. THIS

The schedule for the Jilyexpress is here! Exciting news: there's going to be not one, but TWO fic chains! Hence, we request all participants to tag your reblogs with the following tags: #jilytoberfest2023 #jilyexpress #jilyexpress chain 1 (in case of chain 1) & #jilyexpress chain 2 (in case of chain 2)

Example on how it works:

After the @jilytoberfest blog posts the first three lines of fic chain 1 (G rated) on 1st October, @wearingaberetinparis can reblog the post on the same day with their additional three sentences after mentioning the date (01.10.2023) and with the required tags.

Isa <3 The update about that one is that it's on the backburner as I try to find a plot to it that WORKS. But it didn't get put in the archive like some other long-held ideas, so there's hope!

His lips move from her neck to her collarbone, his thumbs skim her skin right beneath where the material of her bathing suit top begins and her breath hitches. Arching beneath the presence of his lips, it spurs him on as his mouth wanders down the trail between her breasts, hands dragging further down from her ribs, to her waist, to her hips. As mad as he’s driving her, she bites back her complaint that he completely bypassed some pretty key players, only to have a gasp rip out of her throat as his mouth finds her hip bone, lips soft and insistent, hot breath fanning across the skin as the tongue swipes—oh. “I’ve got to get the name of that wine, Evans,” he groans, lips still against her skin, still kissing away the remnants of the spilled bottle. “It’s my new favorite.”  The subtle rumble of his voice against her skin sends a jolt of electricity through her, and she just hums in agreement. “’S nice, but I might make a habit of spilling it if this is what happens.” His gaze flickers up to meet hers, hazel eyes glinting with mischief behind his glasses. “So inconsiderate.”
