Part 1 

me: “So God, how do we do this? what do we do? 

God: “Be still and know that I am God”. 

Last night, I didn’t want to get out of the shower. I wanted to just stay under the running water and cry! I wanted to cry out all the pain I felt in the moment. I knew that pain felt familiar, I knew it could only be followed up with a cry. 

I just kept asking the Lord what to do about any and everything. I was blank, worried and shaken up by what I couldn’t and could think. Then “be still and know that I am God” was laid on my heart. I still wanted to cry because it was only right for the moment but all I did was sing: 

“when the oceans rise and thunders roar, I will soar with you above the storm. Father you are king over the flood, I will be still and know you are God”

but even after this, there was a part of me that didn’t want to be satisfied with “be still and know that I am God” because that was not what I wanted to hear or know for what was going on.

God wants to remind us that He has no equal nor rival. Whatever you put before Him will never do for you what He can for you. However, many dont understand how easy it is to pick up an idol. Idols can take many shapes and forms. But simply put, if you put work, material things, your significant other etc. before God, its an idol. I find that watching tv has been an idol in my life. I would binge watch shows tgen later give God the rest of my time (after becoming exhausted of course). Whenever God gets in your way of doing things, its time to evaluate your relationship with Him. Daily Bread

Today, I read Isaiah 46 and let me tell you, it’s a really inspiring text.

Recently, I’ve been struggling with God’s purpose with me and these words really stood out to me:

“(4) I AM he, I AM he who will SUSTAIN you. I have made you and I will carry you. I will SUSTAIN you and I will RESCUE you. (5) WITH WHOM will you compare me or count me equal?... (9) I AM GOD and there is NO other. I AM GOD, and there is NONE like me... (11) What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, THAT I WILL DO.”

Isaiah 46

This is such a comfort to me. Because whatever God is planning, whatever I am afraid or concerned about, God had already taken care of it. These verses reminded my how powerful God is and that I have nothing to fear because He is enough to do anything.
