matching pairs
sanji, nami, law, zoro, ace
the matching items that you two share
0.4k words
a/n: just cute little relationship headcanons, short and sweet!!!
Tumblr media
you and black-leg sanji have matching rings. you bought them for each other at a flea market – a happy accident because you both wanted to surprise the other. really, what are the chances that you two found the same silver band at two different stalls? now, one finds its home on your finger while the other hangs on a chain around sanji's neck, a reminder that you two are destined to always find each other.
you and nami have matching headbands. you insisted on the ultra-fluffy ones and nami was adamant about getting the ones with the animal ears. part of your nighttime routine now includes the two of you making faces at each other in the mirror, faces slathered in cleanser and creams. your favourite part is when you catch her eye in the mirror and she blows you a kiss, because what's the point of being in love if you aren't having fun?
you and trafalgar law have matching tattoos. his eleventh tattoo might've started as a way to coax you into getting your first, but it's now one of his favourites. it's the fact that you're the one who inked him, marking him with a little heart that matches the one on your hip – the one that he kisses every time he's stripped you down, when you're most intimate and vulnerable. only he knows where to find this everlasting declaration of love, and what a wonderful thing that is.
you and roronoa zoro have matching t-shirts. he hated them at first, which is exactly the reason why you bought the tacky shirts in the first place. cackling at his disapproval, you laughed so hard that you didn't even notice how his gaze went soft at your happy smile. he still moans and groans every time you wear it to bed, but he'll always put his on without asking – though he'd much prefer if the shirts were off and you weren't wearing anything at all.
you and portgas d. ace have matching photos. he dragged you into the photobooth at the carnival and before you knew it, you were making kissy faces and couple poses into the dirty lens. the pictures came out blurry and the colour is faded, but the absolute joy captured in those tiny frames makes it your favourite possession. it stays tucked into your mirror, a lasting memory that outlives the vivre card that you kept with it.

Calling Them By Their Full Name
OPLA Headcannons! I thought htis was a funny little thing lol. Anyway enjoy
Warnings: slight mentions of nsfw topics but nothing too serious
Sorry for any spelling errors!
Luffy
Tumblr media
-ohhhhh that did not sound like your usual happy, loving voice.
-he knows he fucked up and now he’s hiding from your wrath.
-“MONKEY D. LUFFY, GET YOUR ASS IN THIS KITCHEN. NOW.”
-you could hear a pen drop from how quiet the ship got
-ok so maybe he ate that super expensive, super special dessert you had been saving for a while now. And like, it was going to go bad! All he wanted was a little taste! Than a taste turned into accidentally eating the whole thing.
-He was gonna tell you, honest! But it had proven obvious you found out before he could. He seen you round the corner with RAGe on your face and tears in your eyes.
-"TRAITOR!" You yell, throwing a tired punch to his chest.
-“I’m sorry mami, I’ll find you another one. Promise.” He hums, peppering your face with kisses, squeezing your face between his palms when he did.
-There’s no way you could stay mad at him for long
Zoro
Tumblr media
-whoa whoa whoa why are you so ANNNGRY
-hated when you call him by his full name like that, makes him feel like a child being reprimanded
-“RORONOA GODDAMN ZORO.” You boom, Nami’s jaw dropping at the sound. Even she could tell you were pissed
-he’s the sassiest mf alive so he’ll probably just be like, “who the hell are talking to woman?!”
-“You’re a real piece of work you know that??” You’re still yelling and he wastes no time rolling his eyes at you and grabbing you by your waist, the action shutting you up.
“Wanna stop yelling and be a big girl and tell me what’s wrong?” He teases, that stupid smirk you love falling over his features at your speechlessness.
-It’s not often you say his full make but when you do he makes sure you’ll never forget it that same night.
-“Say my name baby, real loud.” He groans, a hand around your throat to steady spent body as he slams back into you
Sanji
Tumblr media
-I know thats not a cigarette i smell Vinsmoke Sanji."
-awe hell. Yout tone is deadly. he tried he damndest to stomp it out before you rounded the corner but nope.
-You never use his full name like that. Never.
-did he just get chills?
-"Of course not my love!" He lies throigh his teeth but before he can say anything ese you re lips are on his, you fist gripping the fabric of his shirt.
-He knew he was caught, the taste of tobacco mixing with your usual mint. You pull away, smoothing his shirt out with a warning smile.
-"Don’t lie to me again, I’ll always know when you do, Black Leg." You explain , taking the small cardboard box from his pocket and walking off.
-Even though it was ment as a threat, he couldn't help but feel hotter than ususal. God he loved it when you talked all serious to him.
Bonus: Mihawk
Tumblr media
-You know better than to use his full name. Orr to even call him anything besides the usual endearing pet name.
-So when he hears his name called with nothing short of rage, hes trying to figure out who you think you’re talking to.
-"Dracule. Mihawk." You spit, holding the empty bottle in your hand
-Ok so your rage was warented cause he managed to drink the entire vintage bottle of wine you'd been saving...it wasn’t like it was on purpose!
-He doesn’t even bother to look up from his book, just barely giving you a slight glance when you were right in front of him, pointing to the bottle.
-"Id watch your tone darling." he warns, smirking at the way you purse your lips and turn away with a fierce attitude he'd be sure to deal with later.
-“Oh shove it up your ass Dracule.” You scoff, trying to quicken your pace but failing when he’s already behind you, his much larger hand holding your wrist as you yelp.
-His look says it all. You’re screwed.
-So now you’re sitting pretty, bent over and counting each time his hand meets the sore and slightly reddened flesh of your ass.
-“Now, what’s my name again darling?”

don't be afraid to catch feels
eustass kid/monkey d luffy/roronoa zoro/trafalgar d water law/usopp/vinsmoke sanji  x gn!reader | fluff | ~2k words
warnings: some suggestive/18+ themes but nothing explicit
a/n: idk i just really wanted to write so THIS was born !!! how some of the one piece boys realize they have feelings for ya !!  might do this for other fandoms too…actually yeah i will LOL probably if i don’t forget
NOTE: i end them after their confession on PURPOSE so you can choose your own adventure 😆 also there’s more dialogue for luffy’s + usopp’s so they’re a bit longer !!
18+ MDNI | under the cut for length
Tumblr media
eustass kid is angry. he's angry that he developed a crush on you. it's so stupid, he thinks. so outta character.
everyone on the victoria punk knows it, including you. and much to kid’s dismay, so does killer. killer talks to him about it everyday, trying to coax a confession out of him in the most gentle yet firm way he can. he wants his captain to be happy, and he knows that you can make him happy, because you already do without knowing it.
kid is completely docile in your presence, and protective. he’s more quiet, because he wants to hear what you have to say. he’s around more, because he wants to keep an eye on you. and maybe because he likes being in your presence.
kid tells (threatens) the rest of his crew that, even though they’re like brothers to him, they’ll be ripped to shreds if any of them so much as glance at you the wrong way.
luckily for you and unluckily for him, you’d heard his very public threat to the kid pirates, save for you.
you ask kid what the hell all that was about and he simply shrugs, rolling his eyes and trying but failing to keep his cool. you scoff and chuckle at his indignance. you continue to press him till he finally gets annoyed and locks eyes with you, his pupils dilated and his lips spread out into a crazy grin.
“jus’ claiming what’s mine.”
Tumblr media
monkey d luffy is seeking out the smartest person he knows, and once he sees her, he’s barreling toward her at lightning speed. hands appear, arising from the wood of the sunny’s deck and forming a net right in front of robin, effectively catching luffy and recoiling him flat onto his butt.
“robin! what was that for?” luffy whines, adjusting his straw hat and tilting it back so that he can look at robin.
“i’d prefer to not be crashed into, captain.” robin shuts her book and gives luffy a gentle, almost maternal smile. “now, what has you so excited?”
luffy is thoughtful as he opts to lay back down on the deck, tilting his straw hat over his face to shield his eyes from the sun. he’s not excited, kinda confused, actually.
he’s good with his feelings, because he knows his feelings. he's familiar with them. but these feelings—the ones he's been feeling for the past couple of weeks or so—are new. he doesn’t know them, but he wants to learn about them. so here he is, ready to learn with the smartest person he knows.
“well…i wouldn’t call it excited, ya know?” luffy stretches his arms overhead before folding them behind his head. robin chuckles quietly, already aware of luffy’s feelings before he'd even realized them himself.
“what would you call it then?” robin asks patiently.
“like…i dunno! it’s different! it’s different with ‘em…” luffy trails off, sinking back into his thoughts.
“different with who?”
“y/n!” luffy chirps, feeling himself smile at the mention of your name. “i’m really happy they’ve joined the crew!”
“happy like…you’re happy that i joined the crew?”
“nuh uh, like…i always wanna be near ‘em. i like when they laugh, when they’re happy. their smile’s real nice, too.” luffy pauses. “it’s a lot of fun to be alone with ‘em! makes me feel good…”
robin takes her time explaining what these feelings mean, that that bubbly, queasy feeling in his stomach was not, in fact, indigestion. once robin’s words seep into luffy’s thick, rubber skull, he jumps up off the deck and wraps robin in a tight hug, grinning the whole time and whisper yelling i gotta go tell ‘em!
luffy finds you instantly, almost like his body contains a homing device that always leads to you. you notice way too late that you are in the direct path of the tornado that is luffy, and he tackles you, causing you to fall back. luffy is quick to catch you, stretching an arm around your waist and bringing you to his chest, looking at your face with such intensity you can’t keep your face from heating up.
you’re breathless. due to the adrenaline from almost cracking your skull against the wood of the ship, and from the i’ve got feelings for ya! robin says they're love feelings! do you feel the same? that rushed out of luffy’s mouth.
Tumblr media
roronoa zoro is confused. honestly, more confused than he’s ever been in his life. then he’s annoyed. why did he have to develop feelings for a crewmate, let alone you? it would just get in the way of everything. he wants to focus on his dream, on luffy’s dream, and sometimes even on sanji’s dream.
he doesn’t consider himself a particularly selfish person, but he wanted to focus on himself first.
but then he sees you smile. he hears you laugh. he watches you work and hone your craft, a look of ecstatic determination on your face and the tip of your tongue peeking out between your pursed lips as you focus. suddenly, he realizes it’s really not about him anymore. it’s about you.
he starts to avoid you like the plague—he figures that if he can’t see you, you can’t see him. but he’s oh so wrong.
when you decide you've had enough of this, you stop zoro, your hand gripping his shoulder and pulling as hard as you can. zoro raises an eyebrow at you and turns around, crossing his arms and waiting for you to explain yourself.
“you’ve been avoiding me.” you state, leaving no room for disagreement or excuses.
“says who?” zoro is very good at playing dumb.
“says me. and luffy.” you huff a bit as you remember your encounter with your captain. how his lips had twisted to the side and how his eyes had shot up to the sky when you’d asked what zoro’s problem was.
“luffy doesn’t know—”
“know why you’ve been avoiding me?” you step closer to zoro, your eyes locked on his and staring into his soul, searching for answers. “i’m sure we’d both love to know.”
zoro scoffs and rolls his eyes, taking a step back from you and turning his face to the sea. the cool ocean breeze feels nice against his burning face. he grimaces as he turns back to you, figuring he might as well get this over with.
“ilikeyou.” zoro mumbles, the words rushing out of his mouth and stopping quickly as they had started.
you shake your head and lean closer to zoro, turning your head to the side so his lips are inches away from your cheek.
“can you repeat that, please, roronoa?”
“i like you.” zoro says the three, short, quipped words. he’s frowning and his arms are crossed and pulled tightly against his chest, in hopes to dampen the hammering of his heart.
Tumblr media
trafalgar d water law is no stranger to stuffing his feelings deep inside of his chest and leaving them there to rot. so he’s wondering why in the fresh hell these annoying feelings for you keep resurfacing. they crawl up his esophagus and reflux into his mouth, leaving a bitter taste behind and making him scowl every time he feels them.
and to you, it seems as though every time the two of you lock cross paths, he narrows his eyes at you and stalks away. he rarely talks to you anymore, although the conversations you'd shared before were usually very short, yet somehow still meaningful.
you decide to confront him about it, byway of bepo, who happened to know exactly why law was seemingly scarce around you.
“c-captain? our captain?” bepo stutters, bringing his paw up to his mouth and feigning surprise. “wow! i have no clue why he’d do something like that!”
you frown at bepo. it’s painfully obvious he knows everything about the answer to your question. “spill it, bepo.”
bepo starts to make gestures with his hands and little struggle noises with his mouth. he has no clue how to get out of this one. so he does, indeed, spill it.
a few minutes later, after bepo was done with his rambling and law’s confession, you approach law with a smug smile on your face.
it doesn’t take a genius to be able to tell why you’re smirking like that, and law immediately pinches the bridge of his nose and tilts his head down.
“that damn bear…”
Tumblr media
usopp is sweaty. he’s sweaty, he’s wringing his hands, twirling his hair around his fingers, readjusting his goggles on top of his head. he can’t sit still. he’s been thinking about how on earth to deal with his feelings: does he just shove 'em deep down inside or does he shout 'em from the crow’s nest? he hasn’t had romantic feelings for anyone since he left kaya, and he simply cannot deal.
“usopp…” nami says softly, touching usopp on the shoulder. he jumps, then flinches at his overreaction to his best friend’s simple and gentle gesture. “can you just tell them, please?”
“n-no! why should i?” usopp frowns at nami and furrows his eyebrows, knowing full well that it’d be best for his health and the crew’s sanity to just come out and tell you.
“if you don’t…” nami grins at him, slowly and mischievously, “i’ll tell them myself.”
usopp immediately springs up from his chosen sulking location and mutters an okay, okay! behind him as he leaves nami. he’s back to sweating, wringing his hands, playing with his hair, and fidgeting with his goggles.
you notice usopp looking particularly dreadful and wait for him to get closer to your position on the deck. you reach out and catch his hand, giving it a light tug so that he’s moving closer to you. he seems so deep in thought that he doesn’t even notice.
“usopp?” you tug on his hand twice, trying to get his attention. usopp meets your gaze and stares at you blankly before shaking his head and becoming aware of the situation. he tries to withdraw his hand from your grip but you’re holding on tightly, and he realizes he’s trapped.
“y/n! fancy seeing you here!” usopp laughs loudly, trying to mask the way that he’s absolutely crumbling and melting.
“what’s on your mind, usopp?”
“you.” usopp covers his mouth with his free hand immediately after the words come out of his mouth. what was he thinking, being so forward? he quickly looks away from you, directing his eyes to the clouds above. “i mean, nami was talking about you earlier. that’s why i’m thinking about you. no other reason!”
a small smile spreads across your lips. “oh, yeah. she told me something super interesting about you earlier today…” you say, drawing out the last few syllables and relishing in the way usopp looks at you in utter horror.
“nami told you that i like you?” he breathes.
“no, but you just did.”
Tumblr media
vinsmoke sanji is aware that he actually likes you. that you're not just another pretty face he admires. he’s always known you were gorgeous, the apple of his eye, the object of his affection. you never noticed that it different, though. thinking back on it, you’re glad that you didn’t notice, because you might’ve thought it meant something bad. quite the contrary, in fact.
sanji knows he loves you when he feels calm in your presence. when he’s not acting like a fan boy and when he spends hours talking with you while he cooks or does the dishes or plans the crew's next meal. you’re always around, and yet, he’s never nervous.
when he really realizes it, though, it’s when he catches a glimpse of nami’s naked silhouette through the crack in the bathroom door and he doesn’t even flinch. not a tingle, not a single palpitation. it’s not you, and his heart knows it, so he’s calm. this is when he knows he has to confess.
“y/n…darling…” sanji says, grasping your hands in his own and looking you in the eyes. “i have to tell you something—something i’ve never told anyone before.”
you look at him, an eyebrow raised in skeptical curiosity. sanji looks worried, and he almost never looks worried. your mind is going a mile a minute, your brain flipping through pages and pages of things he could possibly say to you within the next minute. because of this, you miss the way sanji squeezes your hands, and the way he sucks in a deep breath.
“i’m in love with you.”

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Finally awake?"
Sanji stood there, towel thrown over his shoulder as he mixed something, pausing for a moment to look at you.
There was a brief silence, in which you coughed, trying to fish a response out.
"Did i fall asleep here again?" You groaned, the sticky feeling of the leather ever present as you pulled yourself up sluggishly.
"You did, i'm not complaining. I got a lot-" He pointed to the chopped vegetables sitting to the side, "-of meal prepping done. It's just as quick as i remember it being."
"Speaking of which, when did i fall asleep? The last thing i remember was coming in here for something," You muttered, trying to recall any more you could.
"Nothing much. You came in here for a glass of water, and eventually you fell asleep on the couch," He said, smiling widely, "you tried to help me with the pastries i was making too, but you kept messing with the batter."
You shrugged, getting up and stretching.
"You want something to eat?" He asked, wiping his hands on the towel, "You haven't had anything since yesterday." Before you could protest, he gave you a pointed look, "And don't you try to protest love. As i recall, you drank the entire bar dry last night and started professing your love for m-"
"Shut up," You flushed, mouth opening and closing as he gave you a victorious smirk.
"Still, you know i'm not wrong." "Why you.... you know what? I'm not sure you'd be able to make what i want," You said, sticking your tongue out at him, "i'm very choosy about what i eat."
He gave you a deadpan look, rolling his eyes, "What? Fancying yourself a picky eater today love? I assure you, i can make anything you can imagine."
You thought long and hard, biting your lip before it hit you.
"I want a grilled cheese."
"A grilled cheese?" He let out a little laugh, putting down his knife, "Are you sure thats all?"
"Yes. That's all i want. A grilled cheese," You said, slamming your hands down on table, eyeing him up and down. "If you don't make it, you're not man enough-"
"Challenge accepted," He said, quickly putting away his other tools, "I'm assuming you know where the cheese is. Go get it-"
"Already on it," You said plainly, opening up the cabinet. Among various bottles and boxes, there sat a wrapped block in the back, wrapped with twine.
"Found something!" You pulled it out, coughing as he took it from your hands. Unwrapping it, he whistled, showing the block of cheese to you.
"Mold. I wonder how long it's been back there." He said, and you groaned, seatings yourself on the island in front of him. "Aw bummer, what are you gonna do now?"
Sanji chuckled, placing the block on the counter, "You know we never waste any food love, so now we just salvage it as best we can."
Within minutes, the sizzling of the bread filled the kitchen, and the aroma of melting butter and toasting bread wafted through the air. Sanji's concentration was evident as he flipped the sandwich with precision, ensuring it was golden brown on both sides.
As you reached for the cheese, he swat your hand away, shooing you off the counter.
"Sit down, you need to be more patient cause perfection doesn't rush itself." You huffed, sitting back down at the island, tracing the pattern of the counter.
The sound of ceramics being placed on the counter made you look up, grilled cheese and a mini green cake looking right at you.
"There you go, love. One grilled cheese, as you asked!"
"Mmm, this is amazing, Sanji," you exclaimed, stuffing the food in your mouth, "You really outdid yourself with this one."
Sanji's seemed satisfied as he watched you enjoy the sandwich, retreating to get something from the back.
"I'm glad you like it, love. By the way-" He returned, smaller plate in hand, "- i have something for you to try."
You didn't respond, looking at the mini cake he handed you.
"I'm guessing you're wondering what that is?" He said, and you nodded.
"It's a mini matcha cheesecake. You should try it," He urged you, and you obliged, taking a bite.
"Hmm. It's good..." You replied, wrinkling your nose.
"You're not telling me something," He said,
You glanced at Sanji, "Well, it's good, but it's missing something."
Sanji arched an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "Missing something, you say? What could possibly be missing?"
"Sugar," You replied.
Sanji's eyes widened in mock surprise. "Sugar? You think my cheesecake needs more sugar?"
You nodded, a playful glint in your eye. "Definitely. It's got that nice matcha bitterness, but it needs a little sweetness to balance it out."
Sanji gave you a smile, clearly enjoying the banter. "Sugar would throw off the delicate flavor balance, but let's see if I can meet your sugar quota."
With a flourish, he reached for a small jar of powdered sugar and lightly dusted the cheesecake with it. "Now, give it another try," Sanji said, pushing the plate back to you.
You took another bite. "Mmm, that's much better," you declared with a satisfied smile.
"I guess i just didn't use as much sugar as i usually would, since you're so sweet."
"Don't forget i've got a bit of spice in me too," You rolled your eyes, leaning in closer.
"Indeed," He muttered, sealing the distance between the both of you, kisses tasting with the faintest hint of some kind of sweetness unknown to you.
"Hey Sanji I thought i smelled something really good cooking and- Oh!" You both tore away from each other, Luffy watching you as Zoro stood behind him, annoyance scribbled all over his features.
"First thing i see this morning-"
You hopped off the counter, blowing Sanji a kiss as you ran from the kitchen. Your departure was followed by an angry rupture and laughter, resounding loudly through the halls.
"Wait- You idiot why would you do that?!"
"Well i wasn't the one initiating PDA this early in the morning!"

Wanna go out on a date sometimes?“" - anon
Reader : male (he/they/you)
A/N : Part TWO
Tumblr media
Sanji likes women.
That's a fact everyone knows.
Or thought they knew.
So you can guess his surprises when he realizes his feelings for you ; a man. Not believing he could think such things with you !
Why is he caring who you're looking at ? Or why does he suddenly care about the way your eyes shine ? Or how you smile and how cute it is ? Why does his heart beat faster each time you compliment his cooking, your hand gently resting on his chest ? You could probably feel the way it was pounding under your palm.
He goes through a small stage of denial. And thinks he's being an asshole because he still sees you as a woman. Which he doesn't but his feelings make him think he's being transphobic and he absolutely hates it.
Because you're a man and he sees you as such. So when he finally realizes he's not transphobic but just bi he relaxes a bit.
And now he's scared. Because what if you don't feel the same ? Right ?
Or worse ? What if you think what he thought ? That he's being a transphobe and still seeing you as a woman ? What if he starts flirting and you see it disrespectful ?
Wait, how does he even flirt with a man ?
He doesn't know how to do it with any man, or with you, for that matter. You don't flirt with a man the same way you flirt with a lady. Right ?
Would you like to be called handsome ? Or perhaps pretty ? Or is pretty too feminine and you'd prefer handsome ? Or maybe you don't mind and like both ? Would you like flowers ? He wouldn't mind receiving them so maybe you wouldn't mind either ?
God, why is it so hard flirting with a man ?
He's really uncertain so he prefers to start with compliments. Your clothing, your hairstyle, your fighting…
He wants to start small in hope you see it as him being serious with you.
When he eventually starts flirting he's still really shy and unsure, fumbling on his words and stuttering.
The sentence he had prepared for you leaves his brain the second he opens his mouth.
But then !? You flirted back ?! You winked at him and invited him for dinner at a restaurant on the island you stopped at ?!
W h a t ! ?
He feels his heart burst in his chest. Just simply exploding. BOOM.
He's at a loss for words as he tries to smile. How does one smile by the way ? He's so happy he forgot. He's so sheepish he almost doesn't answer, giggling a little before finally accepting your offer.
Suddenly he's hoping he didn't read it wrong and you really flirted back.
"No, because, they could've invited me to be nice. Or maybe he also invited the others as well ? What if it's just not us two and I come with flowers like a fool ? I have to ask them. But will I look stupid if I do so ? …" He thought to himself.
"Um, just to make sure we're on the same page, [Name], it's a uh… d-"
"Date, yeah. Tomorrow night." You say with a small smile, slightly proud of yourself as you look into his eyes.
You swear you could see the way the air got stuck in his throat as he stopped breathing.
"Okay." He started, still sheepish. "Good." And with that he turns around and leaves. He doesn't know where he's going but he's definitely going somewhere. He needs a walk to calm down anyway.
Not that the food was bad the other times but you ate extra good this evening. You had plenty of choice and even Luffy didn't know where to start.

Hello, I’ve loved seeing all of your One Piece content recently! Could I request a Sanji and a fellow straw hat reader who recently got married? I saw something recently about how once Sanji gets married, there would come a moment where someone would call ‘Vinsmoke’ and both would turn their heads and it would just cause Sanji to get emotional because he finally shares a last name with someone who doesn’t see him as worthless. Someone who instead looks at him like he single-handedly placed every star in the sky. If you don’t end up writing this that’s alright, I at least wanted to share this little scenario.
Vinsmoke | Sanji x Reader
Fandom: One Piece
Pairing: Vinsmoke Sanji x Reader
Word Count: 600
Genre: Fluff, minor angst?
A/n: *laughs in still haven't read past Ch. 526* Hey there requester <3 Firstly, I'm happy to hear you enjoy my writing! Thank you so much for this absolutely lovely request. You actually requested it when they were closed but I found it too cute and wanted to write it– even though I haven't reached that part in the manga yet. But, I wrote based on the things I learnt from fanfics (and whatever I got spoiled about, lol) so this might be inaccurate? I would have loved to expand but I need to know the entire backstory properly before I could do that TT Still, I had a fun time writing this cute drabble! Hope you enjoy it ♡
also available on ao3!
Tumblr media
Sanji woke up to the most beautiful sight in his entire life– you lying next to him, curled up against his chest from where he could see your hair spilling over the pillow and your relaxed face. This was the sight he was going to wake up every day to, from now on, and the thought of it made him feel like the most blessed man on Earth.
You shifted a little, burrowing closer into him, as if you two were already sticking to each other. He could feel your skin on his own, reminders of the night before but all he could feel at the moment was overwhelming love. He couldn't hold back when he saw your hand with a ring come up to lie above his heart. The choked off sound he let out woke you up, and you looked up at him with sleepy puffy eyes.
"Sanji…?" You mumbled, humming in contentment when he wrapped you up in his arms. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, my love," he said quietly, gathering you into his arms, his own wedding band grazing your back as he did so. You shivered at the sudden cold touch but looked at him with dopey eyes full of so much love that he felt blinded. "Just thinking of how lucky I am."
The two of you eventually rolled out of the hotel bed and got ready to leave for your trip. You were on your honeymoon, a week long trip to a famous vacation island that had a lot of fun activities. Sanji had gotten ready first and gone down to the lobby to discuss something with the staff. You hurried up and joined him there after you had made sure that all the marks he left on you were hidden well under your clothes. You were not embarrassed by them – but you were also a private person who preferred to keep certain things to yourself. The love Sanji made to you was something no one else has to see or know. It was something just for you to experience.
You checked out at the reception since you had the room key and were about to make your way to Sanji when the hotel staff behind you suddenly called out, "Vinsmoke-san?"
"Yes?" You turned around automatically, feeling a little giddy. You had been preparing for this ever since Sanji proposed to you. To be called by his name, to be called his…
You didn't notice Sanji's reaction because of your own thoughts. The blonde had turned to answer the call only to be left dumbfounded when he realised the staff had called for you. You, who were now Vinsmoke (Y/n), had replied back with so much ease, like you had been answering to it your whole life.
And it was like someone had pulled his heart out of his chest and clenched it– it was both painful and pleasing to him that you were a Vinsmoke now. The first one to always be by his side, the first one to protect him even though he was clearly no longer the weak boy he once was. The first one to look at him like he hung the stars in the sky, the first one to love and accept him for who he was– you were now his first, real family. The family he had chosen and started. The family who loved him.
"Sanji?" Your concerned voice jolted him out of his thoughts and he blinked, feeling his eyes wet suddenly. His face was cradled gently in your soft hands as you looked up at him, silently asking him why he was about to cry. "What got you like this?"
Sanji swallowed the heavy lump he could feel in his throat, like his emotions had turned into a ball and were trying to come up his throat. He blinked away the last vestiges of his tears, instead wrapping you up in his arms again.
"You being mine now," he whispered, knocking his forehead gently against yours. His clear blue eyes looked straight into yours as he added, "In heart, mind, name and life."

“What a cute kitchen!”
Your eyes can barely contain their sparkle as you take in the final room of the tour. Smiling, you’d realize it’s already occupied by the light chopping sounds coming from the left of the entrance. You approach him from behind, tapping him on the shoulder. “There you are, Sanji-san,” you’d gently called, not wanting to startle him in the middle of his food prep.
“Ah, _______-chan!” Throwing a careful grin of his own over his shoulder to you, he sets down his knife at the edge of the cutting board to turn completely around to you. “I was wondering when you’d make your way in. You’re just in time – I’m making lunch!”
“I’m sorry it wasn’t sooner,” you apologize with a small laugh. “I think Nami was just a little… excited? Relieved? That she wasn’t “the only woman” on the Merry anymore, I mean. Her grand tour felt more like a tea date.”
“No apologies necessary; making you feel at home with us comes first. Do you?” he asks.
“I do,” you reply easily. “Our captain encouraging me to toss a chair at my window to escape was probably one of the first signs of that one for me.”
Sanji chuckles. “I’m glad. Well, what do you think?” He raises his arms from his sides, inviting you to take in his safe haven.
“It’s quite lovely, as I suppose kitchens normally are?” You glide your fingers across the island, enjoying how smooth the surface had felt on your skin. “This is my first time being inside one.”
“Your first time?” Sanji repeats, genuinely shocked.
Nodding, “I was never allowed inside ours,” you explain. “My parents were… very conservative and traditional in their ways. It may have stemmed from them being apologists of the World Government and the Celestial Dragons, but they always said that entering such places would be beneath our name.” You sigh deeply. “I always knew they were wrong.”
For a moment, Sanji is quiet, the slight tapping of your shoes and the bubbling of the boiling liquid in the pot overtop the stove the only sounds filling the room.
“I didn’t know you were also the chef until Nami mentioned it in her tour,” you add, your voice soft. “How wonderful.” You sniff the air, your lips quickly rising once more in appreciation of the scent filling the kitchen. “Wow… That smells incredible.”
Sanji’s lips part in awe at you, watching you move closer toward the stove. Not wanting to hang your head directly over the pot, you waft the vapour closer to you, inhaling deeply.
“What do you call this, Sanji-san?” You gesture into the pot. “I’m not sure I’ve ever had this before.”
“… it’s called Sugo all’amatriciana,” he says, making his way to join her side. “A sauce made of tomatoes.” From the drawer to the right of the stove, Sanji steals a spoon. “Panchetta. Pecorino romano.” Having given the sauce a stir with a ladle, he dips the spoon inside to scoop some up. “Onion and garlic.” A hand cradling beneath the spoon’s curve, “and a bit of basil.” He lowers it toward you, and your blink. “Try it.”
“Really? Could I?”
Sanji’s lower lip curls inwards, pinching the inside flesh between his teeth when you lean forward to blow lightly on the sauce. Lips parted, you barely release a breath, one just strong enough to begin cooling it, before taking it into your mouth and sucking back the contents in the spoon.
“Sanji-san… this is delicious!!” you gush after a moment spent savouring the flavour. “It’s the perfect amount of garlic, and the pecorino tastes so fresh–” You hum almost excitedly at the leftover flavour on your tongue. “You really are such an amazing chef.”
Sanji’s grip on the handle falters, the metal slipping from between his thumb and forefinger and clattering to the floor, his other hand coming up to clap over his own mouth. Immediately, you’re turning to the cook with worry.
“Sanji-san, what’s the matter?” you ask, reaching out to him. “Did I say something wrong? I’m sorry if I did, I-I–”
“I…” You frown, the skin of your forehead bunched together in concern. “I just didn’t expect you to be so cute.”
“C-Cute?!” you exclaim, your face instantly exploding with heat.
Sanji swears his entire body stalls at your expression; like a set of cogs that’s lost one of its gears, the chef goes still, but his heart continues to pound beneath his ribs. As you attempt to collect yourself, Sanji slowly extends his hands out toward you, and places them on your shoulders.
“San… ji-san?”
“______,” he practically whispers, head tipped down toward yours. You swallow, nerved by the intensity in his one visible eye. “You really are the cutest.”
“I-I… Sanji…”
This time, your warmth is contained to your cheeks. Sanji’s smile is sweet, crooked with the relief of not being pushed away by his new female crewmate or battered on the head by them. The gentleness in your eyes entrances him, and before he can control himself, the young cook leans forward toward the young deckhand, his eyes shut and lips searching for yours. A small breath escapes you before you’re able to reel it in—it would be your first kiss. Your first kiss with, practically, a stranger. And yet, you can’t bring yourself to pull away— it’s actually quite the opposite.
Hands having risen to balance your trembling body against him, they press into the lapels of his blazer, your fingers winding around them to give him a slight tug toward you. Eye swirling with adoration, Sanji is quick to fit his lips to yours, his own hands respectfully daring to come up to rest above your hips. With a small sigh, you press into him just a little more firmly, a little more curiously, steadily becoming more and more listless the longer your kiss goes on, and despite the loss of air in your lungs, you discover it to be difficult to pull away from Sanji, your hands releasing his suit and travelling to hold him to you by his nape.
The sharp hitch of your breath should have acted as a sign that you should pull away, that you should break to breathe, but you couldn’t bear to let him go. Feeling the tip of your tongue suddenly dart along his lower lip, tasting the faintest hint of tobacco that had lingered from his last cigarette, Sanji chuckles into your mouth. Cheeks flushed and chest heaving, he gently insists on bringing you back down to earth with a subtle tap against your side that has your eyes opening. Finally, you part from him, sucking in a breath so deep that it nearly has you choking on it.
“M-Mellorine, mellorine,” Sanji calls to you over your heavy panting, a hand rising from your hip to tilt your chin toward him, “you have to breathe at some point, no?”
“I-I… I… guess…”
Sanji blinks at you, his own face flaming once again. Did she sound… disappointed? His hands, warm and slightly calloused at the tops of his palms, slide around to hold your face in them.
“I adore your enthusiasm, mademoiselle, but if you pass out, I can’t kiss you how I want to.”

He didn't know where he was. It all happened so fast. In one moment he was up against a weird devil fruit user, and in the other, he was laying in the cold, white snow. Sanji gets up into a sitting position, supporting himself up with his hands. He looks around, observing the terrain around him. It seemed like a village, surrounded by snow-covered mountains. The wooden houses gave him the feeling that this wasn't the most modern place he's ever been to, but it was beautiful. One thing bothered him though: there was nobody.
He found it weird that noone was here, he couldn't hear any noise from the houses either. No happy kids playing in the snow, no old people chatting away on the benches, nothing. Sanji gets up, curious where everyone went. Does anybody even live here anymore? Or is this just a long forgotten inhabited village, and that's why it all seems like he was thrown back in time?
Not knowing where to go, Sanji mindlessly roams the area in hopes of finding someone or something that could help him out. He trusted his crew and that they will get him back somehow, he wasn't worried about that. He knew that there was nothing he could do about the situation, given he didn't even know where he was. But he needed food and shelter until the others find a way to reunite, and in a village he is likely to find these.
Sanji knew that there was something wrong with the village. He would ocassionally see remains of blood splatters on the walls, or broken windows and doors. Maybe he was right, this is an abandoned village. But the blood seemed like it's been there for only a day, meaning that there might be survivors of whatever is going on here.
One thing catches his eye: a giant castle on the side of the village. He could see some faint light from the windows, even if the castle was far from him, meaning that somebody is likely living there. Should he go there armed? No, he got his legs and wits, and he couldn't find a weapon anyway. He stands in front of the grand, stone gate in front of him, the castle on the other side of it. Sanji takes a deep breath, and pushes it open.
He steps trough it, findig a snow-covered trail surrounded by leafless trees, a carriage a few metres away from him parked on the side.
"I've been waiting for you, Mister Vinsmoke." A man speaks, sitting in the carriage, dressed in Victorian-era clothing.
"How do you know my name?" Sanji stops in front of him, curious how a strange man he never met knows his name.
"Blackleg Sanji, the Wing of Strawhat Luffy. I tend to know lots of things, Mister Vinsmoke. The word from the village is proven to be the truth, then. Though I must say, that castle arouses suspicion."
"Yeah, and so do you."
Sanji didn't like how this seemingly merchant knew things about him and called him by his father's name. He preferred to go by Blackleg, the name coming from his real father's, Red Leg Zeff.
"And who do you might be?" He inquires.
"I am but a humble merchant." The man chuckles.
"Here?"
"Forgive my manners. Call me the Duke." He finally introduces himself. Sanji didn't fully trust this man.
"Earlier you said that the castle arouses suspicion. What did you mean by that?"
"That place is full of nothing but blood and death. Nobody ever comes back from there. It's under the management of Lady Dimitrescu." The Duke explains.
"Lady Dimitrescu?" Sanji murmurs to himself. A castle under a woman's rule? Maybe this place isn't so bad after all... "Thank you for your help."
Sanji walks away after this, heading towards the castle. Now he was even more curious about it. Does the castle look more modern on the inside? Who is Lady Dimitrescu? Could he live here until the crew defeats the devil fruit user and he can get back to them? He was hoping that this woman will be kind enough to give him some ingredients to cook and a room where he can sleep. The castle was big anyway, she probably wouldn't mind if he stayed there for a bit.
Here he was, at the castle's entrance. Sanji gupled as he opened the door, trying to be as quiet as possible. He closes them behind himself as quietly as he opened them, and makes its way further into the castle. He was amazed by the interior. The floor was clean, the shiny wooden planks and the sole of his dress shoes creating a clicking noise as he explores the hallways. The walls were a dark shade of green, with some brownish-crimson wood elements, it all looked straight out of a tale.
He stumbles upon the main hall. His eyes widen at the sight. The room is illuminated by the light of the candles placed on the huge chandelier, a large, intricated staircase leading to the second floor while the white tiles shine on the floor. Sanji is mesmerized, findig the whole setting elegant. He was suddenly snapped out of his trance by a voice behind him.
"Who are you?! And what are you doing here?!" Sanji turns around to find a fuming girl standing there, dressed in an all black dress, the hood of it on her head, her eye makeup matching the colour of her outfit.
Sanji froze. He didn't expect this.
"A-are you Lady Dimitrescu?" He shakily asks.
"No, but if she finds out you're here, you'll end up just like all the other men. Same if my sisters find you. They have a lot less self control than I do..." the girl approaches Sanji.
~○~
You stare at the man in front of you, his slightly dissheveled blonde hair covering one of his eyes, the black suit he was wearing perfectly fitting him.
"What do you mean by that, ma cherie?" He asks.
"Mother hates men. And just intruders in general." You tell him, remembering what happened to the last person who entered the castle. Your mom did seem to like the wine made from his blood.
"I-I mean no harm, I promise! I just need cooking materials, and I was wondering if I could sleep here? Please, I'll make food for you, just let me stay for a bit. Just until I can get back to my crew!" He begs, holding your hands together.
You wanted to decline, to send him away before your mother or one of your sisters find him, or before you end up killing him yourself. But he looked at you with such kind eyes, and it seemed like he wasn't scared of you at all. Did he not know anything? About who or what you were? That you could tear his throat out any second? He was holding your hands so gently, like you could break at any moment, staring at you with his cerulean eyes.
"I can't. You came to the worst place possible, run while you can." You break free from his touch, turn around and head back to the direction where you came from. It was for the best. If he stays, he'll just get tortured and killed.
"No, please, I-" he starts, but can't find the right words to finish. So, he just stood there, not moving a muscle, waiting for you to change your mind.
"Who is this manthing?" You hear an all too familiar voice behind you. You turn around, only to see the man with wide eyes, your mother looming over him. Of course she did, she was eight foot tall. This was the end for the man, you knew it. But he did nothing wrong, and he just felt different, you can't just hand him over to your mother.
"What have I told you about men?" Her voice was menacing, and if looks could kill, you would be dead right now.
"I know mother, and I apologise. I stumbled upon him by accident." You explain.
~○~
Sanji didn't flinch. He didn't move, he froze. He didn't turn around to see who or what was behind him, he could feel the presence and see the huge shadow created by the person. His mind was going a million ways, not even being able to focus on the conversation you were having with who he assumed was your mother. One thing he did notice was how your expression changed when you saw her, how you looked so... afraid. Did this woman behind him do something wrong to you? Your complete aura changed, it was noticable. He knew that there's no way he'll fight a woman, and he also knew that the crew won't be here to save him this time. This might be the end for him. He feels as the woman behind him breathes down his neck, then suddenly bites into it.
Sanji grunts, the teeth of the woman deep in his throat. He didn't know what was going on. Is this how he's going to die? No, because the woman pulled back, and he was still alive, standing, breathing, and he could still feel as his heart was beating in his chest. He could hear the two women talking, but his mind was too out of its place to understand what the conversation was about. And that was the last thing he knew before fainting.
~○~
He woke up, chained to the wall in some unkown room. The quiet cracklig of the fireplace gave him a slight comfort, but the pain wouldn't go away. He had to figure out an escape plan, quick. He tried to wiggle himself out the handcuffs, but to no avail.
Just then, a bunch of flies flooded the room, all in the same spot until the seemed to merge together, forming a human-like figure.
"Didn't know you could do that..." he quietly says.
"There are so many things you don't know about me, Vinsmoke Sanji." The girl from earlier says.
"How do you know my name? My manners seemed to dissapear when we first met, i apologise."
"The Duke. He sometimes pays us a visit. He was here this morning while you were here, passed out."
"Well, I didn't even ask you your name, ma cherie. I'm Sanji, I'll get you out of here in no time." Sanji smiles down at her.
"Hm, to me it looks like you're the one who needs to be saved." She looks up at Sanji, who was still chained to the wall. She was right.
"I guess you're not here to save me. Going to bite?" He asks.
"I could. I warned you about my mother and sisters, you didn't listen. Look where it got you."
"What will they do with me? A bunch of pretty ladies sucking all my blood out? It's a better way to go than some I can imagine."
"Don't worry, it's gonna be quicker than that. And a lot more painful. Mother said you'd make some pretty good wine."
"I can in fact make wines, if that's what you wish for."
"Not like that."
"Oh."
The awkward silence set in before being broken by the girl's sigh as she took steps towards Sanji.
"What are you doing, cherie?"
"You want to die here? You mentioned that you got a crew somewhere. Think about them at least." She says, her hands on Sanji's handcuff holding him to the wall. He feels as the first handcuff loosens, and he pulls out his hand from it, looking at the girl in disbelief.
Both handcuffs fell off Sanji's hand, freeing him. He was speechless. This girl that he met yesterday, the one whose mother possesed major hatred towards men and the person who tied him up like this, who could end his life right in this moment just saved his life.
"I don't want to leave you here. Please, come with me. I can see you're not happy here with her." He holds his hand out for the girl to grab, but she doesn't do it. Instead, she looks down, and Sanji knows he was right. She really didn't like it here.
"I... I can't." She holds back her tears, her nails digging into her palm. "A few seconds in the cold air, and I freeze to death. And I mean I turn into a literal ice sculpture and die. I'm not a human like you. I might even end up causing you harm. You felt what my mother did to you. She's a vampire, and so am I."
Sanji is quiet for a few seconds. He doesn't know how to reply. He didn't want to leave her here to suffer under her mother, especially knowing that he could've done something about it.
"That's not a problem. I'll keep you warm if that's what is holding you back. I trust you that you won't bite me. You could've done it the moment we met, but you didn't. I don't care if you are a vampire, we have stranger people on the crew than that. Maybe our talking reindeer could even help you so that you won't freeze to death when it's cold."
She was stunned. This man she met yesterday spoke so kindly to her like nobody ever did before. Not her mother, not her sisters, nobody. She wanted to go, to join the crew, to be free, to know Sanji better, maybe the other crew members too. Talking reindeer? She was interested. She only knew the definition of "friends" from books she was forbidden to read, but now she could have the chance to experience what it's like.
"I... I'm just an experiment, I..." she tries to protest, holding back tears. She wanted to leave, really, but her mother wouldn't approve this. She never got to experience life outside the castle, or see what was outside the walls.
"Looks like we have something in common, then." Sanji warmly smiles. He knew what it felt like. "But now I have a loving crew, and most of the times I forget this part of my past. You can do it, too." He gives reassuring smile. He can't leave her here.
He was right. She lived here so long, the village reminding her every day of the reason of her existence, that she's just the product of some crazy scientist woman's experiments. But now she can leave this behind. Just like Sanji did.
She looks down at Sanji's hand, still held out for her. This time, she places hers into the blonde's, ready to leave.

Why The Caged Bird Sings | Chapter 3
Tumblr media
Chapters: 3/? Fandom: One Piece (Liveaction) Rating: Explicit Relationships Vinsmoke Sanji x F!Reader Characters: Vinsmoke Sanji, Patty, Red Leg Zeff, Original Characters, Strawhat crew. Warnings: 18+ content (minors DNI), explicit sexual content, minor POV switching. Summary: One night, you were brought to the luxurious Baratie Restaurant Ship, renowned for its exceptional cuisine that your family had been intrigued to sample. A particular blond and comely waiter captured your attention with his charming smile and gentle eyes, but while your beauty and sophistication intrigued him, Sanji also observed the profound nervousness that caused your jaw and body muscles to tense whenever your fiancé made contact with your hand or your parents delivered a humiliating criticism towards you. One dinner at the Baratie soon turned into a recurring event, and then more. As your friendship with Sanji slowly evolved into something that burned from within, you strove to make your longstanding dream come true; freeing yourself from a constricting existence. ------------------------- As Sanji looked at you curiously, the gentle smile never leaving his face, you asked him, "Do you know why the caged bird sings?" He thought about it for a moment before answering, "Because it has a song to give?" You chuckled at his response and shook your head. "You're not entirely wrong, but no."

Note: This chapter took me some time because I wanted it to be just right, being focused on the forming bond between Sanji and the Reader before the next part. I do not plan to make a long story out of this, but the chapters might all be quite big and detailed.
Tumblr media
Over the next hour, you wrestled with your pounding heart, striving to push away the notion of remaining on the Baratie ship till the next day. Sanji, with an air of casualness, mentioned that a room was already set and ready for your use, extending the offer without a hint of complication.
When Sanji inquired if you wished for him to accompany you, you swiftly declined, asserting that you weren't weary enough to call it a night yet. Instead, you proposed to enjoy a rejuvenating drink at the bar, an idea to which Sanji cheerfully concurred, flashing one of his charming (and irresistible) smiles.
The sky was captivating, filled with infinite stars that seemed too numerous to count. The evening air was cool against your skin, but there was a noticeable uptick in humidity. The lounge area inside the fish's mouth was near deserted, with only a handful of patrons left, lost in their intoxication and slumped over the bar counter.
Sanji escorted you to the round grouping of couches situated against the mouth of the ship, skillfully uncorking a bottle of blueberry-lemonade rum. You had never considered yourself much of a drinker, rarely finding pleasure in the taste of alcohol and turning to it only when your emotions plunged into a pit of despair. However, given the heightened stress you had endured that night and your present state of restlessness, you felt that a touch of rum was more than justified.
You found comfort in the enveloping silence as you both settled on the couch, close enough to feel the heat radiating from each other. The alcohol successfully soothed your mind and, even though your heart continued to flutter in response to his aroma permeating your senses, you felt more serene and less tense.
You looked up, gently pressing your lips against the glass, and found yourself spellbound by the immense, dark blue spectacle stretching out before your eyes.
"This feels good," you commented aloud. "I can't recall the last time I took a moment for myself.”
Sanji gazed at you, his smile never fading. "A beautiful woman like you should be pampered all day.”
With your head nestled against the back of the couch, you subtly turned your neck to face him. His smile broadened even further in response, and after a fleeting moment of thought, you broke into a tender chuckle. Sanji chimed in, his shoulders easing as he swirled his glass in his hand.
"You certainly have a way with words when it comes to charming a lady, don't you?" you asked playfully.
"And you haven't seen the best of me yet," he replied with a wink.
Raising an eyebrow, you moved to the side, supporting yourself with your elbow on the couch. "A man of great confidence, I see.”
He snickered, adjusting his position and tilting his head slightly. "That marine was clueless about the treasure he possessed," he remarked.
You couldn't keep track of the number of times your heart had skipped a beat in his presence.
Casting your eyes downward, a blush of embarrassment mixed with appreciation tinged your cheeks. "I'm no treasure, Sanji. I'm merely a woman who's been treated like a puppet for far too long. And I let that happen without putting up any fight," you confessed.
"I wouldn't call your actions tonight 'any fight',” he declared.
You tightened your lips together. "It certainly took me quite a while, didn't it?”
"I'm not in a position to judge. And I would never do that to you.”
Your eyes shimmered, a warmth akin to molten honey spread throughout your chest, and a swarm of butterflies fluttered in your belly.
"Honestly, the things you say... they might be the kindest words I’ve ever heard.”
His expression mellowed, transforming into one of sorrow. "How could anyone be cruel to someone like you?”
"You should ask that to my family.”
"I witnessed enough two weeks ago.”
"Right. My father put on quite a show, didn't he?”
"He wasn’t as bad as your fiancé.”
You shuddered. "I really detest that word. I mean, he wasn't exactly my fiancé. Not in my eyes.”
"Not in mine either.”
At that, you laughed once more, and unconsciously, you found yourself inching even closer to the cook.
"Thank you for what you did. Seeing him getting a good kick in the butt for once was absolutely priceless.”
Sanji took a deep breath, exhaling slowly and stretching his arm out to set the half-drunk glass on the table in front of the couch. “I can’t deny that I enjoyed it.”
"Oh, you were certainly invested in it. Your moves were rather impressive.”
He allowed himself to sink back onto the softness of the seat, staring at his hands as he began to absentmindedly fiddle with his ring.
"I couldn't bear to watch him hit and threaten you as he did," he said, his jaw tightening at the memory.
You responded with a sincere smile. "He was known for having an anger problem, but... well.”
Sanji's attention moved to your cheek, and you had to exert control over your reactions as he gently swept his thumb across your skin to inspect it.
"Is it causing pain?”
As his finger traced the irritated spot, all you felt was a comforting caress.
“No, it isn’t.”
"The swelling has gone down.”
"Thankfully you happened to have that salmon available.”
It was quite astonishing to see how both of you couldn't contain your laughter while conversing with each other. When he drew back, the absence of his touch left you feeling instantly hollow. Something in his mouth reflected the soft glow of the lanterns, causing you to notice he might have a piercing situated just beneath his tongue.
When you noticed that you were zoning out as your thoughts momentarily derailed, you cleared your throat and shifted your focus back to the stars. Sanji stayed quiet, a satisfied look on his face as he turned his gaze skyward. From his pocket, he retrieved a cigarette and a lighter, sparking it into life and savoring the nicotine-filled inhalation. As he breathed out, a cloud of smoke ascended, dissipating gradually into the darkened atmosphere.
Remaining there, in silence, with a man you were just getting to know yet felt inexplicably at ease with, you discovered the therapeutic potential of simply sitting in good company. Sanji was chivalrous, respectful, affable, and empathetic. His flirting occasionally teetered on the edge of being excessive, yet his attentions, though most likely extended to the opposite sex in general, didn't bother you in the slightest.
With your drink now fully consumed, your eyelids started to droop. His voice, calling out your name, seemed distant as you found yourself slowly giving in to the lull of sleep right in your current spot.
"Y/N," he gently repeated. "Come on, beautiful, you can’t keep your eyes open.”
"Mh..? What? Oh." After a moment of disorientation, you rubbed your temple and sat up straight, all while he took the glass from your hand, placed it next to his own on the table, and rose to his feet.
When he offered his hand to you, you accepted it, allowing him to aid you in standing up. His closeness made you feel self-aware, especially considering how his lips were now mere inches from your forehead.
"I'll take you to your room.”
You nodded, mirroring his movements as he pivoted and headed towards the entrance. His steps were unhurried and confident, and all you could do was marvel once more at the outline of his broad shoulders and expansive back.
The Baratie was practically empty, and you trailed behind him through the dining hall, along a corridor, and up a flight of wooden stairs. There was an incredibly calming quality to the sounds produced by the ship, as the planks creaked in a gentle rhythm.
Upon arriving at your destination, Sanji pushed open the door and ushered you into a cozy cabin. As he lit the lantern situated on the bedside table, your eyes began to sweep across the room, absorbing the diverse array of objects. The cabin was neat and orderly, with maps, and notes decorating the table positioned beneath the window. You could discern a few cookbooks, an ashtray, and a packet of cigarettes that looked very familiar.
In that moment, it dawned on you that the room he was offering wasn't just a spare one kept for potential guests or new recruits. The cabin had an overwhelming sense of him, exuding an immediate assurance that it was indeed his personal space.
"Wait, Sanji.”
When you pivoted on your heels to face him, you caught the slightly bashful expression on his face. "Apologies, love. The other cabins are currently being used for storage.”
"I see... but-"
"This one is yours for the night."
Your eyes widened in surprise. "What about you?”
"Don't worry about me, I'll manage.”
"Sanji, no," you moved a step closer, gently touching his forearm. "I can't inconvenience you further after everything you've done for me.”
"Nah, you're not an inconvenience at all. Besides, I can't let you sleep on the kitchen floor.”
"I could sleep on the couch outside. It's comfortable enough," you suggested.
"I can't allow you to do that.”
You opened your mouth to argue, but found yourself at a loss for words. His disarming smile made it impossible for you to decline his offer. The orange hue emanating from the lantern cast a spectacular light against his perfect jaw.
"I guess I owe you another one.”
"You don't owe me anything.”
"Yes, I do.”
He chuckled softly under his breath, glancing downward and swallowing subtly in response to the sudden intimacy.
"Good night, Y/N," he said, pulling away from you and reaching for the door handle.
You wished you could have said more, but a lump in your throat held back your words. "Good night, Sanji," was all you could master.
As he stepped out of the cabin, carefully closing the door behind him, you released a long, deep breath you hadn't realized you had been holding.
Another man might have exploited such a situation. You were there, alone with him, nowhere else but in his very own quarters. He had saved you from Christopher's onslaught, cooked a delectable meal for you, and even relinquished his bed for your convenience. Given your insistence on repaying him, there was just one thing he could have requested from you.
Because, as a matter of fact, that's what they all wanted.
Everyone, except for him.
For a fleeting moment, you contemplated whether you should have allowed him to stay.
Tumblr media
Despite your extreme fatigue, sleep seemed elusive. Perhaps it was the knowledge that you were in Sanji's bed, coupled with the realization that he was spending the night elsewhere, stripped of his usual comforts because of you. Alternatively, it might have been the fear of what awaited you upon your return home, grappling with the reality that, sooner or later, you would have to confront the repercussions of your defiance.
When you awoke, dawn had already bathed the ship in its golden hues. The makeup around your eyes felt uncomfortably dry, and you were eager to shed your current attire in favor of something more fitting. With a reluctant push, you forced yourself to sit up, attempting to tame your bed hair with your fingers and smooth out the creases in your dress. You voiced a grunt of disapproval, regarding the heels positioned in front of the bed with a look of distaste.
You abandoned the comfort of the mattress and traversed the lukewarm floor barefoot, your vision trained on the ocean beyond as you squinted against the intense sunlight. Not far away, you noticed a small ship that was immediately recognizable, and a smile played on your lips as you watched it sail closer to the Baratie. Mari and the others had arrived.
Immediately, you ensured the bed was neatly made, quickly slipped into your shoes, and hurried towards the door. Carefully avoiding any missteps, you descended the staircase, retracing your path from the previous night in reverse. You entered the serene dining hall, with the sounds of chopping and boiling echoing from the kitchen. Sanji was notably absent, and although seeing his face first thing in the morning would have been pleasant, the discomfort of wearing the same clothes from the previous day was too bothersome to disregard.
As you stepped outside, the sea-salted air filled your lungs. A shroud of morning fog masked the horizon, but the outline of your friends' ship, now almost docked, remained visible.
When the ship came to a standstill, Mari surfaced from the lower deck, her face lighting up. She agilely hopped down, dashing towards you with her arms outstretched. You had to brace yourself as she crashed into you, wrapping your shoulders in a firm embrace.
"Y/N! I'm so incredibly proud of you!”
You laughed in surprise, "Come on, I didn't really do that much.”
"Are you kidding me?" She retorted, "You finally managed to get rid of Nutty after all this time.”
"But it's not over yet.”
"Yes, it is. Because I won't let you get near him ever again.”
With a sigh, a wave of gratitude washed over you for her unfaltering support and protection. Marlo, Rory, and Rubio also made their appearance, waving at you from the bow of the ship.
"I brought you some clothes. I can't stand seeing you in that skimpy dress and those stilettos. How do you even manage to walk?”
You grinned. "You eventually get used to it. But, I admit my feet are really aching now.”
Mari made a sound of disgust, seizing your hand and pulling you aboard their vessel. “Honestly, what would you even do without me?”
“I’d be lost as hell.”
Her determination over the smallest details was both amusing and inspiring. She behaved like a true bodyguard, prepared to confront anything that might obstruct your path.
The moment you set foot onto the main deck, Rubio engulfed you in a bone-crushing hug, Rory clapped her hands in celebration of your successful outcome, and Marlo gave you such a hearty pat on the shoulder that it almost sent you teetering to the other side. Damn him for being a muscular giant.
The affection they demonstrated was something you would cherish for the rest of your life.
"I hate to come off as a freeloader, but would you guys mind if I take a quick bath? I feel like all the food they cooked in there has seeped into me.”
"Ah, so you are the source of this delightful steak aroma," Marlo observed, rubbing his stomach in anticipation and punctuating it with a suggestive lick of his lips.
“Screw you.”
As their jubilant cries reverberated through the ship, you maneuvered your way to the wooden tub, shaking your head in amusement.
The area designated for personal hygiene was quite compact, with a modest collection of rugs and towels, meticulously folded and stacked on a stool. While the tub could only accommodate one person at a time, it proved ample for washing away the sea salt and lingering kitchen odors from your skin. As amazing as the Baratie's cooking was, carrying its scent was not part of your agenda.
You let the dress drop onto the floor before unceremoniously tossing it into your personal clothes box. You picked out one of the outfits that Mari had discreetly tucked away in your hidden storage, preparing it and setting it aside for later use. Evidently, Mari had anticipated your needs and had already filled the tub for you with suitably warmed water. None of your friends expressed any complain, giving you the freedom to luxuriate in it for as long as you desired.
And so, you took your time, employing a coarse sponge to scrub away any lingering traces of oil and food that might have resulted from Christopher's tumultuous outburst. The warmth enveloping your body was comforting, and the entire room was now filled with steam.
The moment you slipped into your trousers, a sigh of relief escaped your lips. The comfort of casual daily wear far surpassed that of any sophisticated dress and high-heeled shoes. Even your hair boasted a different style now, and the shirt you opted for allowed for better movement. The leather jacket added that touch of edginess you were seeking - a look your family would never wish to see on you.
When you finally converged with your friends in the kitchen cabin, they were astonished at how distinct, yet improved, you looked in your characteristic appearance. Feeling rejuvenated and more comfortable with yourself, you settled into a seat and accepted the cup of coffee they had set aside for you.
Mari didn’t waste any time and immediately inquired about the juicy details of your night at the Baratie, as well as how things with your now ex-fiancé took such a dramatic turn. By the end of your tale, Marlo was laughing so hard that he was brought to tears at the mental picture of Christopher being forcefully kicked by a waiter (not a waiter - a cook, you corrected him), while Rory squealed in excitement. Rubio conveyed his deepest solidarity concerning your immediate refusal, but Mari was staring at you in total disbelief.
"Wait, Y/N. Please tell me you didn't do it,” she said.
"Huh? Didn't do what? You already knew that I rejected him.”
She shook her head. "That's not what I meant.”
"What did you mean, then?”
She scoffed. "Did you seriously spend the night into that cook’s bed… without inviting him to stay with you? For real?”
You raised an eyebrow. "Mari, don't go there.”
"Oh, come on! After all he's done for you, you didn't even give him a kiss? If I were in your place, I would have certainly made a move, straight to his d-”
“Mari!”
A collective bout of laughter erupted once again, and you facepalmed so hard that you nearly struck yourself in the process.
"What's wrong with that? How long has it been since you last hooked up with a decent man?”
You rolled your eyes. "Too long ago to remember. And I don't think it was with anyone decent.”
"She has a point," Marlo chimed in. "He was such a skinny loser."
"Pretty sure that wasn't the reason why I dumped him," you clarified. "Stop thinking like the muscular beast that you are."
He responded with a toothy grin, playfully flaunting the size of his bicep.
"Seriously though, I'm impressed he didn't actually try to sleep with you," Mari persisted. "And from what you've told us about this Sanji, I believe you might have stumbled upon a rare gem this time.”
"Isn't he just toying around, though?" Rory inquired. "He's a gentleman alright, but what if he does this with every attractive lady he comes across?”
"Without even trying to put his hands on her? No, it's clear he took her situation to heart," Mari concluded. "He kicked her fiancé in the butt without hesitation, in his own workplace.”
"Well, either way, all this talk about him just made me want to meet the guy in person," Marlo declared.
"Oh, I agree," Rory interjected.
“Good thing we don't have to wait for that.”
Confused, you turned to Mari again, giving her a questioning look.
"Oh, didn't I tell you? Oopsie.”
Judging by her joyful expression, you realized that she was scheming something behind your back. “Mari. What are you talking about?”
A grin of absolute satisfaction spread across her face. "You see, we managed to book a table for brunch today.”
“…at the Baratie.”
“Yes, at the Baratie. Where else?”
Silence descended upon the room as you blinked a few times. “Wait. That must be a joke. There’s no way you could find a spot so easily.”
Mari proudly flicked her red hair off her shoulder. "Y/N, who do you think you're talking to? You know I have means to get what I want.”
Your jaw dropped in utter disbelief.
"Don't ask her. Not even we know the details," Marlo whispered into your ear, stifling another fit of laughter at your reaction.
Eventually, you let it go, as arguing with someone like Mari was as futile as trying to converse with a wall.
"You guys are insane.”
Rory stood up, darting towards you and wrapping her arms around your neck, pressing her warm cheek against yours. "And you love us this way!”
Indeed, you absolutely wouldn't have them any differently.

Entering the Baratie was becoming a routine for you. The grandeur of its elegant dining room, with its polished aesthetics and sophisticated ambiance, was now incredibly familiar. The tantalizing aroma wafting from the kitchen had become a sensory marker you eagerly anticipated. Even seeing the fishman's face at the entrance had become a delightful and comforting sight.
Brunch time was as bustling as dinner typically was. The number of people flocking to the floating restaurant was astounding, with an influx of ships docking alongside your friends', seemingly materializing out of nowhere. The fact that Mari secured a reservation so quickly was still a shock to you, but you chose to heed Marlo's advice and simply savour the good fortune you had received.
As you were led to your table, your eyes inadvertently drifted to a corner adjacent to the kitchen. The blonde cook was right there, and his mere presence in your peripheral sight was enough to cause your heart to flutter.
Caught in a moment of starstruck awe, you remained rooted to the spot in the middle of the dining room, motionless as your friends continued ahead.
"Y/N, what's the hold-up?" Mari questioned, halting halfway.
Barely shifting your gaze towards her, you raised your hand in acknowledgment. "Sorry, I'll join you in a moment.”
You then turned and walked away, striding purposefully towards Sanji. He appeared to be engrossed in folding napkins and arranging food and drinks on a silver tray, dressed in his chef's uniform and casually flicking his hair away from his face with a slight toss of his head.
It didn't take long for him to notice you. The moment his gaze locked with yours, his face lit up, and the smile you cherished so much spread widely across his lips.
"Hey you," you greeted him, mirroring his joy with equal fervor.
"Hey! I'm surprised to see you're still here. You look... different," he commented, appraising you from head to toe. "Undeniably gorgeous.”
You grinned in response, by now accustomed to his compliments and playful flirtations, but still appreciating every bit of it. "Between you and me, I don't usually like wearing dresses. This is the real me.”
"Honestly, sweetheart, you could even wear a bag and still look beautiful in it.”
You let out a laugh. "Oh, stop it. I wanted to thank you for letting me stay in your room. I hope I didn't inconvenience you to the extent of sleeping somewhere uncomfortable.”
“I managed just fine. And you’re very welcome.”
For an instant, it seemed as though the atmosphere around you had charged with electricity. An unbroken silence descended upon the two of you as your eyes stayed intertwined. There was something extraordinary about Sanji, something more profound than mere attraction towards the opposite sex. You noticed the passion in his mannerisms when he had prepared a meal for you the previous night, and the tangible rage etched on his features when Christopher posed a threat to you. His talks about Zeff and the hurdles he was encountering, the mournful twinkle you spotted in his eyes when he confessed that standing up to the man was a complex ordeal.
Sanji was more than just a good-looking cook playing the role of Prince Charming. The more you observed him, the stronger grew your desire to unravel his enigma.
The booming voice of Mari, beckoning you from the table, abruptly pulled you back to the present moment. As you pivoted, you caught sight of your friends watching you, their faces illuminated with wide grins of satisfaction.
"Are you with them?" Sanji inquired.
"Yes, they're here to pick me up. My friend over there somehow reserved a table without even informing me. I have no idea how she pulled it off.”
Sanji let out a chuckle. "Well, it seems that you're in good hands today.”
"I am. Uhm... I should go join them now. Will we meet again later?”
You didn't want to seem excessively clingy, but the moment you voiced that question, a part of you plummeted into a pit of embarrassment.
Yet, your words only served to widen his smile even more. "Absolutely, sweetheart.”
As you nodded and retreated a step, you were convinced that your cheeks were flaming. You observed him lift the tray and take it to the closest table, all the while you ambled away, caught up in your whimsical thoughts.
The moment you sat down, you immediately sensed four pairs of piercing eyes fixated on you.
"Okay, I have to admit it," Mari started, "That guy is attractive as fuck.”
“He’s definitely a handsome one, good shot Y/N!” Rory exclaimed.
"More handsome than me?" Marlo queried, "Come on, I'm way more appealing than him.”
"Oh, don't be jealous now. Of course, you're the best.”
Marlo wasn't entirely convinced, but he draped a muscular arm around Rory’s shoulder, wearing a smug expression.
"I mean, as a man, I can't exactly be objective about his appearance,” Rubio started, "But he was practically devouring you with his eyes alone.”
You cleared your throat. "Was he really?”
"Honestly, Y/N, how clueless can you get?” Mari groaned. “That cook would be all over you if he could.”
"That's not true.”
"Actually, my dear, she's quite right," Marlo chimed in.
“Guys, seriously! You've barely seen him for two minutes from here. He’s not like that.”
"Yeah, what sets him apart at least, is that he seems to respect your boundaries.”
Rory, Marlo, and Rubio all nodded in unison.
You sighed. "Whatever. Can we change the topic, please?”
"Oh wow, look at how flushed your face is!”
"Awww, how adorable. Our dear Y/N has a crush.”
"Shhh, lower your voices!”
When they burst into another round of snickers, you shook your head, suppressing a smirk that was beginning to form. It was extraordinary how different and comfortable you felt with them, compared to the other times you had found yourself in that very same room. Just the night before, you had been wishing to escape as soon as you arrived, and now, you desired nothing more than to spend the rest of the day with your friends, savoring the most delectable cuisine that could be found in all of East Blue (and perhaps, in the entire world).
If anything, this only solidified that you were perilously close to completely upending your life, and the prospect of returning home invoked the most dreadful sense of fear you could ever experience.
You all ate to such an extent that you felt on the verge of bursting. Rory was almost moved to tears, thrilled by the outstanding cuisine, while Marlo consumed everything he had ordered with astonishing eagerness. Rubio was making a determined effort to relish his dessert, wishing it would never end, while Mari was so delighted with her meal that she would have licked her plate clean if it wasn't considered as such an indiscretion.
Throughout your brunch, Sanji had surfaced at your table, meticulously detailing each dish with commendable sentiment. Rory and Mari, both remarkably beautiful, didn't elude the cook's attention, and he lavished them with a cascade of compliments and charming banter. However, the exchange of smiles and whispered words between you and Sanji seemed to single you out, making you feel distinctively special. At one juncture, he slipped out of the kitchen with a dish he didn't want Zeff to see, placing it before you with a gentle touch on your shoulder as he whispered into your ear. You blushed continuously for ten minutes when your friends began to tease you affectionately about the gesture.
As lunchtime passed and the early afternoon sun began to shift its position, the dining room slowly started to empty. You could hear the music emanating from the bar outside, coupled with the increasing volume of your friends' voices echoing throughout the space. The tranquility of the instance felt entirely dreamlike, a stark contrast to the habitual family turmoil and incessant demands you were accustomed to.
You had been seated there for a few hours, yet, there was not a single moment where you felt an urge to leave the table.
Only when your stomachs were satiated and your meals entirely consumed, did your friends place the necessary quantity of Berries on the silver tray accompanying the bill. You had proposed to reimburse them later with the funds from your private storage, but they remained unyielding in their decision to indulge you.
You were so immersed in your complaint, that Mari's exit from the group escaped your attention. Only upon sensing her missing presence beside you, did you scan the surroundings in an attempt to locate your friend. The instant you did, all color drained from your face.
"Guys...? What is she up to?”
Marlo was already breaking into muted chuckles, while Rory dismissed it nonchalantly with a wave of her hand. Rubio slung an arm around your shoulder as your attention fixated on Mari, who was engaging in a cheerful conversation with none other than Sanji himself, who had emerged from the kitchen to gather the settled bills.
You managed to hear Mari expressing her gratitude aloud before she spun on her heels and returned, and you scarcely registered Sanji's smile aimed in your direction when she did.
"Mari," your voice came out stern and low. "What was that?”
"Relax! I was merely engaging his services for the day.”
"Wait, you did what?”
"Considering it will take us a while to return, I thought we could take advantage of his culinary expertise. Nothing overly extravagant, just a packed dinner for our journey.”
“Oh, you’re brilliant!”
“Indeed, good thinking Mari!”
You rubbed your temple, taking deep breaths to soothe your frayed nerves. Given the amount of food your group consumed, it seemed highly unlikely that any of you would feel sufficiently hungry to partake in dinner by day's end. Mari's move was merely a pretext to invite Sanji aboard their ship, observe him closely and, without a doubt, provide an opportunity for you to spend additional time with him away from his usual environment.
"Did he agree?" You asked her.
“Oh yes.”
Well, shit.
You were torn between feeling grateful, or extremely anxious. The mere notion of having him so near to you and your soul family, without Zeff, Patty, or any other colleague on standby to yank him away, caused your entire face to be flushed with a deep shade of crimson once more.
Yet, deep within, your mind was silently shrieking with exhilaration.
Tumblr media
As you waited for Sanji aboard your friends' ship, your heart was racing so fast that you felt like a teenager on her first date. Even though it wasn't intended to be a private encounter between the two of you, with Mari and the others around, you knew that privacy was not an option anyway.
And yet, the anticipation was killing you.
Upon Sanji's arrival, it came to your attention that he had discarded his chef's uniform, not even opting for his signature black jacket. The sight of his button-down shirt, tightly embracing his upper body, and the visible flex of his lower arm muscles as he lugged kitchen supplies and utensils, only intensified your emotional unrest.
Mari led him to the stove, and without hesitation, he settled in, rolling his sleeves up even further. Rubio, who had recently taken a fond interest in cooking, attempted to glean some useful instructions from the chef. Despite his playful refusal to reveal his culinary secrets, Sanji still provided a few practical pointers that your friend eagerly jotted down.
A smile found its way onto your face as you relaxed your shoulders and comfortably leaned against the dining table. Your smile wasn't particularly intended for Sanji, yet the moment he caught sight of it, he responded with a radiant grin of his own, one that became increasingly endearing to you with each passing moment.
Clearing your throat, you approached him, fully aware of your friends' attentive eyes watching your every move. "Can I assist you with anything?”
"Don't worry, sweetheart. You're not expected to do the work.”
You shook your head. "Still, please. Let me help you.”
"Yes, she's quite good actually. She's been dedicating a lot of time to practice.”
You shot Marlo a stern look, silently urging him to drop the subject. Unfortunately, your friends showed no signs of letting up.
"Oh right, she did! If you two join forces, I have no doubt it's going to result in the best dinner we've ever had!”
Rory's enthusiasm was so overwhelming that you almost felt the urge to scream and bolt. Sanji regarded you with a curious expression and a raised eyebrow, a look you quickly tried to dismiss. "It's not like that. I was forced to... I mean.... just, may I?”
Recognizing your growing desperation, Sanji didn't have the heart to turn you down.
"All right, love. Could you chop the carrots for me?”
Somewhat shyly, you nodded, washing your hands and picking up the knife from the table. Mari's barely suppressed giggle could be heard, and she met your playfully threatening glare with an innocent look.
"So, Sanji. How long have you been a cook?" Rubio asked, watching as you began to slice the vegetable.
His voice echoed with delight and pride as he replied, "I've been training since I was a child.”
"Impressive. It runs in your blood, then. Can you cook, like, anything?”
“I can make anything.”
“Now I’m jealous!”
The atmosphere became noticeably lighter and more carefree. Your friends were at ease, engaging in leisurely conversation and warmly interacting with the man who had clearly piqued your interest. The more you collaborated with the cook, the more your deep, meaningful glances with him became frequent.
Convinced that it was best to leave the two of you to your own tasks, Mari stood up and stretched her arms. "I believe it's time for a little rest. I've eaten so much that I'm starting to feel drowsy. What do you say, guys? Shall we let them finish the preparations?”
Immediately catching on, they all nodded in agreement and vacated their seats with lightning speed.
"Looks like the kitchen is in capable hands, catch you later," Marlo announced as he departed, throwing you a playful wink.
As they all withdrew, an awkward silence seemed to descend upon you, punctuated only by the rhythmic sound of a knife chopping and water boiling. Alone with Sanji again, you could feel the warmth radiating from his shoulder, so close to yours that they were almost touching.
Swallowing nervously, you apologized, "I'm sorry for their behavior. I hope they didn't make you feel uncomfortable.”
"Not at all. They seem like nice people.”
You allowed the freshly cut carrots to tumble into the simmering pot. "They truly are. I honestly don't know what I'd do without them.”
"You seem happier when you're with them," he observed.
"I am. We've been together since our childhood days. My parents never really approved of them, so I always had to come up with an excuse to sneak out and meet them.”
Your hand grazed against his as you handed him the ladle.
"Life hasn't been easy for you, has it?”
"No, not really.”
You watched him with admiration as he skillfully stirred the contents in the pot. The tantalizing aroma of the stew wafted up, tickling your nostrils and igniting your appetite once again.
"So, what's this about you training in cooking?" He inquired.
“It’s not what you think,” you replied, a chuckle escaping your lips. "My family wanted me to become the ideal wife, so they sort of nudged me into the kitchen to prepare meals suitable for a husband. I like cooking, but my skills are quite avarage, really.”
“You’re actually doing well.”
"All I'm doing is chopping vegetables, sprinkling some seasoning, and staring as you do all the heavy lifting.”
Your attention was more drawn to his arms and hands for entirely different reasons, but that was a piece of information he didn't need to know.
"It's not every day I get the opportunity to cook alongside a woman as pretty and intelligent as you.”
It was difficult to hold back your blush.
"I'm not that clever. If I were, I wouldn't have ended up here with that guy in the first place.”
Sanji's smile faltered only for a fleeting moment, before returning just as bright as before. "You certainly didn't deserve any of that, but… I'm glad it led to our paths crossing.”
In that moment, your mind was swarming with doubts and questions. Did he extend this level of kindness to any attractive woman he encountered at the Baratie? Were you developing feelings for the wrong man, someone who showered you with compliments while possibly having a multitude of women waiting in the wings?
The more you mulled it over, the less fearful you became as your impressions of him persisted. Could someone as gentle and courteous as he seemingly was, be the flirtatious player as Rory had insinuated?
Admittedly, your limited experience wasn't much to draw from, especially considering the sparse past relationships you had managed to keep concealed from your family. And yet, in Sanji's presence, you felt a sense of freedom and security that not even Mari and the others could provide.
"It might seem like an obvious thing to say, but I'm glad too.”
Underneath his hair, you could see his lips curling into a confident grin. And before you could utter another word, he turned towards you, a spoon filled with warm stew in his hand, gently pressing it against your lips.
"Would you mind tasting this for me, beautiful? It might be a bit hot, so be careful.”
Using the counter for support as your knees seemed to weaken, you held one hand under the spoon and gently blew on it to cool the meat down. The moment you brought your lips to it and allowed the stew to slide into your mouth, it instantly melted on your tongue, causing your taste buds to burst with joy.
"Oh, wow," you exclaimed. "This is delicious. But honestly, everything you make is perfect.”
"I had a good assistant.”
"You did most of it.”
"You have a precise knack for chopping, an acute sense of smell, and an excellent eye for seasoning. You're more talented than you give yourself credit for.”
You shrugged. "I never considered it to be something praise-worthy, but thank you.”
With the stew fully prepared, Sanji ladled generous portions into different bowls, sealing them with tinfoil to retain their warmth and prevent any foreign substances from contaminating the food. Between moments of laughter and diverse talks that allowed you to get to know each other a little better, you spent the afternoon preparing a variety of dishes, ranging from your friends' favorites to some of his specialties. By the time you finished, you estimated there would be enough food to last even through the next day, if not longer.
YYou had never experienced this much joy while preparing a meal before.
As you cleaned your hands with a towel, you looked at him with uncertainty, feeling a question bubbling up within you but hesitant to put it into words. Finally, having settled down next to him with a glass of water, you decided to take a leap of faith and speak your mind.
"Hey Sanji, can I ask you something?”
“You can ask me anything you want,” he responded gently.
"So, I assure you I didn't rummage through your things, but I couldn't help noticing a few notes and maps on your desk. This place, the Baratie, it's not really where you want to be, is it?”
While his smile didn't fade, it was evident that your question had struck a chord.
"I'm sorry, you don't have to answer tha-”
"Have you ever heard of the All Blue?”
His question took you by surprise, but as it was a name you faintly recognized, it still had you deep in thought. No, it wasn't new at all. You were absolutely certain that you had come across it at some point. Perhaps it was mentioned in a story during one of your tedious dinners with Marines and notable figures. Or maybe it was something you found in a novel of some sort.
You searched your memory until something finally clicked. "I think I have. Isn't it a sea of legend, said to be the only place in the world where the North Blue, South Blue, East Blue, and West Blue seas intersect?”
Sanji looked at you with a surprised, yet pleased look.
You chuckled. "Yeah, I’m a bookworm.”
"Beautiful, intelligent, and impressively well-informed.”
"Oh, come on, really. Is this All Blue what you're searching for?”
Sanji's face turned solemn, tinged with a melancholic air. "There are fish from each of the four seas. It’s the ultimate dream of every chef.”
You nodded understandingly. "I can see why.”
"The All Blue is rumored to be located somewhere in the Grand Line. Yet, no one has ever found it.”
"And you believe it's not real?”
Sanji lifted his eyes from the table. "What about you?”
You didn't need to think it over. "I don't see why it shouldn't be. Whether it's legendary or not, the fact that it's known suggests there's some element of truth to it.”
Once again, his lips widened into the most beautiful of smiles, leaving you momentarily breathless.
"I know it's real. It has to be.”
"So... are you planning on setting out soon?”
Sanji let out a heavy sigh. "No.”
"But... I don't understand. I thought you wanted to find it?”
"I have responsibilities here, sweetheart. I can't just abandon Zeff.”
Your hands came together on the table. "So this is what you were referring to when you mentioned things were complicated?”
"Yeah.”
Despite your belief that he had every right to pursue the All Blue, you held back voicing your opinion on the matter. After all, you knew very little about his relationship with Zeff, and the fact that he was willing to sacrifice his dream for this man suggested their bond was far deeper than you initially perceived.
As if sensing your internal deliberation, Sanji continued speaking.
"He saved me, Y/N. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for him. I owe him my life.”
As he delved deeper into the story, and as much as you wished to know more, his explanation was enough for you to fully grasp his standpoint.
"And you?”
“Me?”
“Is there anything that you want to do?”
In that moment, you knew that he was asking about your dreams, wondering if you had one so intense that you'd consider setting sail into the open sea.
For the first time, as no one had ever asked you such a question, you found yourself at a loss.
"I'm not really sure," you replied. "The only thing I've ever wanted was to break free from the strict rules and impositions of my family. I've never really paused to consider what else could be out there for me.”
"I would call that a dream. One that you've just managed to fulfill.”
"Not really, no.” You absentmindedly fiddled with your fingers. "Perhaps in part, but there's still so much left to do. I'll never truly be free as long as they continue to expect my return.”
Sanji seemed to hesitate for a moment, but then he nudged his chair a bit closer to you, just enough to be able to place his hand on yours.
"Then don't.”
Without any hint of embarrassment, you affectionately squeezed his wrist. "I have to. Otherwise, I'll just be hiding, and that's not what I want. I need closure.”
He pursed his lips together, nodding in silence, but maintaining his comforting grip on you. His touch was gentle yet firm, so incredibly grounding that you wished it could last forever.
Sadly, as the kitchen door swung open, you had to abruptly pull back and move slightly further from him.
"How's it going, guys? This room smells heavenly!”
You glanced down and ran your fingers across your forehead, while Sanji subtly cleared his throat into his hand. Mari looked at you, her smile broad and knowing, her eyebrows raised so high they seemed to touch the sky.
"It's all ready," Sanji responded, his voice slightly hoarse.
Unable to resist, Marlo immediately approached the covered stew, peeling back part of the tinfoil to take in its scent. "Holy cow, man. You're incredible.”
"Y/N deserves just as much praise.”
"Oh, I'm sure," Mari said, draping her arms around your shoulders from behind and squeezing a bit too tightly for comfort. "I want the deets later," she whispered into your ear.
Rubio stepped forward, giving Sanji's back a friendly pat and expressing his gratitude for the remarkable service. As dusk approached, it dawned on you how much time you both had devoted in that isolated chamber, and how rapidly the hours had slipped away in his company.
For the second time that day, your friends refused to allow you to dip into your savings, even though you were more than ready to compensate Sanji for all his efforts. Every single one of them.
But in the end, would money even suffice? You still felt a lingering indebtedness towards him, and you made a solemn vow to yourself that one day, somehow, you would reciprocate his kindness in a much grander, more significant way.
Mari persisted for a solid fifteen minutes, trying to convince him to accept the payment. Sanji was adamant that he didn't require any compensation, asserting that his joy stemmed from ensuring all of you were content and well-prepared for your journey home. However, no one could ever win against Mari’s obstinacy, and he was compelled to accept the payment with a slight reverance as he reluctantly took their Berries.
The mere idea of returning to your hometown felt like a weight on your heart, and the prospect of bidding farewell was agonizingly painful.
Recognizing that he needed to return to his duties at the Baratie, you proposed walking with him, not wanting him to endure Zeff's criticism for his extended absence. Naturally, Mari and the rest didn't oppose, silently motivating you to seize this chance.
Thus, both of you disembarked from the ship, strolling side by side down the wooden pier. The sea breeze brought a pleasant salty touch to your skin, and you were at a loss for words, unable to interrupt the serene quiet.
In the end, he was the one to shatter it.
"Will you be all right, love? Truly?”
His concern was moving, and it only made you want to stay and never leave.
"Yes," you replied with assurance. "Truly.”
“You do realize that you're stronger than you think, right?”
You smiled. "I do now, thanks to you.”
“I didn’t do anything.”
You stopped, pivoting to face him and sweeping your hair away from your face. "You did a lot, actually. Maybe you don't even recognize it, but the way you speak has a way of calming a lady's heart. It certainly worked with me.”
He tucked his hands into the pockets of his trousers. "Believe me. With you, it’s natural.”
"If that's the case, I'm flattered.”
You resumed your walk, moving forward until the entrance to the Baratie stood directly in front of you. A part of you longed to grip onto him and beseech him to let you stay, to grant you employment at the restaurant, to protect you from any potential danger you might face at home.
Because, at the end of the day, you never learned how to stand on your own two feet. The reason it took you such a long time to finally break free from your family's control was that you had spent your entire life craving their love and approval. You sought validation, a confirmation that you were enough. But all you were met with were cruel words and expectations that shaped you into a person you didn't identify with, nor you wanted to be.
Sanji helped you understand that you weren't someone to be despised. You were deserving of protection and care, and your true value far surpassed the worth your family had ascribed to you.
"Will I see you again?" He asked, resting a hand on the door without pushing it open.
"As if I could go on without ever tasting your cooking again.”
You both shared another bout of laughter, trading one last look before you retreated a step. "Take care, Sanji. I'll see you soon.”
Without awaiting his reply, you turned and initiated your departure, taking a few steps along the pier as more ships began to approach.
But as you forced yourself to reach your friends, your body seemed to resist, decelerating until you came to a complete standstill, unsure of your subsequent action.
"Oh, come on! After all he's done for you, you didn't even give him a kiss?”
Mari's words reverberated in your mind, and although you had initially cast aside the notion as dreadfully improper, now your hands quivered with the urge that was overtaking you.
You swiveled your head, sneaking a look back at Sanji who had stayed exactly where you left him, motionless, observing as you walked away. Summoning a spontaneous burst of bravery, you made long strides to return to his side. His lips began to part to say something, but you halted him by resting your hand on his chest and pressing a modest, tender kiss onto his cheek.
It was cautious, as gentle as the touch of a feather. But the way he traced his fingers along your arm to grasp your wrist was an unmistakable indication of his appreciation for your gesture.
You barely locked eyes with him as you pulled back, your cheeks blushing at the sight of them. You didn't even stop to consider what you had just done, turning and darting off, making a beeline for your cabin with the intent to confine yourself and never come out. Only when you reached the main deck did you dare to look at the Baratie, realizing that the door was fully open and Sanji was nowhere in sight.
Throughout your voyage, your friends teased about the palpable tension and electric atmosphere that seemed to spark whenever you and Sanji were near each other. They highlighted the unmistakable mutual attraction, causing your cheeks to heat up even more. It was now impossible to deny that there was some form of connection between the two of you, but with the unresolved situation back home looming over you, you opted to shelf those thoughts as there were more pressing matters at hand.
The feeling was sickening, excruciating, and completely daunting. As you stared at the town materializing in the distance with a cup of coffee in your shaking hand, you promised yourself that this time, regardless of the potential fallout, you would stand up for your own welfare.
Now, unlike ever before, you knew exactly what to do. And for the first time, you had a clear objective to accomplish - you desired to see Sanji's face again above all else in the world.

Final note: I didn't fully describe my OCs because I thought it would be fun for the readers to come up with their own vision and interpretation, so you are free to see them however you please, only using my little details as an indication.
Also, people have speculated that Sanji has a piercing just below his tongue, considering that something shiny seems to show up there in a couple of scenes. Someone confirmed that Taz Skylar, Sanji's actor, actually has one irl, so I thought it would be nice to include it here! 😆

Fem!reader
It's late when he drives you back home under the starry night.
You didn't really believe your co-worker when they told you to get into the whole flirting/dating thing. You didn't really believe your co-worker either when they told you about this nice, handsome and most importantly single friend of theirs.
Though, one date can't harm anyone, so you agreed.
So here you are still talking and giggling with eachother, walking home after this handsome man offered to walk you to your door with how tipsy you were both feeling.
The date was truly a fairy tale, it was perfect. He picked you up, had reservation in a nice place to have dinner. He was a real gentleman and you sometimes thought you were dreaming with how perfectly everything was going ; almost waiting for something really awful to happen.
Once you reach your doorstep, you turn to him, a endearing smile on your face. Standing a little straighter, you finally shoot your shot.
"Do you maybe wanna have one last drink ? Inside ?" You say, giggling nervously.
He stares at you smiling lightly, checking out your features : your cheeks are getting rosy with the chilly night and the alcohol, your hair shines under the street lights, and your lips stretch into an even more adorable smile.
He puts his hand on your arm, leaning in and your heart skips a beat because of what is possibly about to unfold, now. Closing your eyes, you can feel your heartbeat in your ears and waiting for the feeling of his lips on yours is like a lifetime.
But you release a breath you didn't know you were holding when you feel a soft peck on your forehead.
Your eyes flutter open, and you see his beautiful face leaning back, his hand sliding down to you hand.
"I'll call you."
And you're on autopilot when you get inside the silence of your home.
Alone.
During your night routine before going to bed, your thoughts are swirling.
Was I reading the whole thing wrong ?
A kiss on the forehead !? Am I his grandma or something ?!
I thought everything was going really well on both sides.
And still a little annoyed and very needy and frustrated, you slide in your bed, drifting off to sleep almost instantly.
But little did you know your handsome date had parked not too far away from where he drove you home with how tight and uncomfortable his pants felt against his crotch.
"Aaah fuck" Sighing under his breath, pumping his leaking and burning cock, wishing it was deep inside of you. His needs sometimes hated how much of a gentleman he was.

Gossip Girl AU Prequel: Z After Dark Chapter 3
Tumblr media
A Gossip Girl story ain't a Gossip Girl story without Gossip Girl herself showing up. So this is Gossip Girl's first recorded appearance in-universe. Warnings: sexual content, alcohol
This just in!! Mihawk Dracule has filed from divorce from Terra Roronoa!! As if that ain't enough, Arashi, Zs father has filed for divorce as well. Apparently, the guy filed for divorce but somehow the woman blocked it.
Great news for Z, his new music has been widely acclaimed. Now the question remains, what is Z's next move? Watch this space because things are about to get heated as the summer holidays come to a close.
And who am I? That's one secret I will never tell.
XOXO,
Gossip Girl
Zoro wakes up screaming and panicking. “Baby what’s wrong?” Sanji asks groggily as Zoro’s screams woke him up. The greenette begins to pant, gasping for air as fear begins to paralysed him. He was having yet another nightmare relating to his mum and her abuse. This one involved his mother beating and kicking him repeatedly several times. This was why he asked Sanji to stay with him.
Sanji looked at him with deep concern and cups his face in his hands. “It’s okay, baby. That woman is not here and if she dares lay a hand on you, we will make her pay.”
He then hugs Zoro who simply hugs him back, tears flowing down his eyes. His childhood robbed, his identity stolen. All he ever is is a broken boy. That little boy that used to be there died the moment that woman began her work on him.
"I...I....I don't deserve this. All this fame. All this love. Everything." Sanji hugs Zoro tight and kisses his forehead. "You are wrong Marimo. You deserve everything and much more."
The greenette could only nod whilst Sanji continues to cuddle him. Sanji can understand how it feels to be in Zoro's shoes better than anyone. He is the son of Sora who is the Queen of Pop. Imagine the big shoes he and his siblings have to fill. Plus the fact that their father, rapper Judge Vinsmoke is a deadbeat dad and an abusive bastard at that, then you have traumatized kids.
"Remember when we first met?
Sanji grins. "You made fun of my brows and called me Curly and I fired back and called you Marimo because of your hair and we had a nasty argument that day."
They both laughed. "I believe we were 6 year olds then." says Zoro. "Yeah. I think so. The fact that we are still together is funny. I mean, everyone thought we hated each other till one day out of the blue, I called you my husband."
Sanji falls over laughing. "I still can't believe you fucking said that!!"
"Got jealous because Maria kissed you." Sanji just giggles. "Jesus fucking Christ!! So that was why you pulled me away from her?!" Sanji asked. Zoro nods.
"I envied Sukuna because that bitch had rizz back then. Still fucking does. I even thought he was gonna steal you from me." Zoro admits. "So that is why you even act bitchy towards him huh?"
"That plus that was why I lost my virginity at that gay bar in Italy to Griffith. You know? That rich guy I met at the club there. He was my boyfriend for like 3 months then."
Sanji gasps. Everyone knows the Griffith story but not the full details. He never knew how wild Zoro was back then. Considering he himself did similar shit, like hello he worked at a strip club at the time so he knows the drill. But damn. "Dude!! How did you fucking sneak into a fucking gay bar?! Like you were fucking 13 then!!"
"Perona helped. That is all I can say about that. Either way, the guy was quite charming and good looking."
"Yeah but not as hot as I am right?"
"Yes."
"But what made you break up with him?"
"The motherfucker cheated on me with some French model. Like the bitch used me for cheap publicity. Not helping was Sesshomaru leaking out my private details to the press around that time."
"Now I get why we never saw you in school for years."
"Either way, that is the past. You know what? Maybe I should come back to school. But before that, we should celebrate the summer. Like I wanna do fun stuff with you my buddies. I mean, can you believe that I have never chilled in the fucking pool not even once?!"
A bright idea pops up in Sanji's mind. "I think now is the time to host a pool party."
"THAT SOUNDS AWESOME!!"
"Like we can host it this weekend. Of course we will ask Mihawk for permission. Then we will invite those that we trust. Food, booze, you name it. We will sort that. And most importantly..."
Sanji rolls them aorund so that he was on top of Zoro and kisses his lips. "I will give myself to you that day. Yes Daddy, I want you to dominate me that day and fuck me silly and make me your sugar baby officially. I want you to be the King you fucking are."
Zoro was taken aback by this at first. He did not expect Sanji to be that open about it like that. Though to be frank, he and Sanji have been acting like a couple for a long time. They never brought up the sex conversation before.
"If that is what my baby wants, then I will give it to you and spoil you rotten." Sanji giggles and proceeds to make out with him.
************************************************************************
Later that weekend, all of Zoro's friends get invited to the pool party that was being hosted at Mihawk's house. The media gets wind of it of course and every single blog talks about it.
Zoro no longer gives a shit. He is all about having a great time. None of the adults are around. Well, the staff are obviously but the parents are out of town so that the kids can have their fun.
"Now this is what I'm talking about!!" says Sukuna as he sips on some beer in a plastic cup. "About time Big Z hosted us properly without a certain someone breathing down our damn necks!!" says Rukia.
Zoro snorts with laughter. His eyes then fall on Sanji who was having a chat with Nami and Gojo next to the barbecue spot. Sukuna and Eren exchange smirks.
"Are they or aren't they fucking?" Usopp asked. Everyone laughs. Sanji blushes. "OI!! BITCH WHAT THE FUCK?" Zoro raises an eyebrow. "Really dude?" he says in a joking tone.
"Just what I wanna know too." Zoro rolls his eyes. Of course this motherfucker would show his dirty face at his own party. He whips around and glares daggers at a smirking Sesshomaru.
Zoro remembers the conversation he and Sanji had the night before. He no longer fears anyone anymore. "Why the fuck are you here? No one fucking invited you."
Everyone stops what they are doing and watches the drama unfold. Sesshomaru has a fake hurt expression on his face. "Oh come on!! That is no way to speak to a friend."
"You stopped being a friend the moment you leaked out my whereabouts and private information to the paparazzi and media.I also got intel that my mamma was paying you to spy on me."
Jaws drop at that revelation. "It's not what you think."
It was at this point that Zoro just explodes and goes off on him. "Or really? Oh and what about that that interview you gave where you said shit about my sex life? I get that I was underage and stuff but bitch you had no fucking right!!" Sesshomaru gets on the floor and tries to crawl away. Sanji places a hand on Zoro's shoulder. That calms him down.
"Good thing you showed your dirty face here. One less bitch left to deal with because I have already started weeding all you fake bitches out of my life which as why I never invited you!!"
He gets down on his knees, the signature Roronoa death glare in place. Compared to before, the death glare was a lot more menacing. Everyone in the room literally cowered in fear. "I suggest you and your little bitches run because if I still fucking find you bitches in here, I will not hesitate to send you bitches to hell." he says in the coldest tone he could muster.
With that, Sesshomaru and his cronies run for it. "Bet the bastard will go report to his mistress." says Sanji. "Let him. Besides, the woman has no power anymore. Either way, bae you and I got something to attend to." Zoro whispers.
Sanji grins. "Lead the way." Zoro takes Sanji's hand and pulls him away. The others snicker as they all knew what was about to happen.
Once they are in Zoro's room, Sanji locks the door behind him. Zoro grabs his lover and slams him against the wall, kissing him passionately.
Sanji lets out a moan as Zoro leaves a trail down his neck. Thankfully, they were wearing boxers which makes things easier for them. They pull down each other's boxers and move over to the bed.
Zoro crawls on top of him and stares lovingly at Sanji. "Why ain't I a lucky son of a bitch?" Sanji chuckles. "I can say the same about myself too."
The greenette gets to work and begins to kiss and bite certain parts of the blonde's skin, leaving him a moaning mess. "You are mine Sanji. Remember that." Zoro growls out. Sanji could feel his cock twitch with excitement as Zoro was now taking more control, owning his sexiness for once. He was finally maturing into the tiger that he truly was.
"Ah...Zoro...."
It seemed like the Sesshomaru incident had caused Zoro to snap as he kept on torturing Sanji but teasing him relentlessly. He spies the lube on the bedside table and grabs it. He pours a generous amount on his fingers and inserts one into Sanji's hole.
Sanji hisses in pain at first. It has been a while he has had sex. "You okay babe?" Sanji nods. "Been a while." Once he feels settled, he nods at Zoro who begins to slowly push his finger in and out of Sanji's ass.
Sanji moans in pleasure. "Fuck that feels good....." Zoro smirks and begins to get aggressive and inserts a second finger in, continue to thrust, earning more moans.
He then inserts a third one and increases his speed. "This is just the beginning bae. Once I insert my cock into you, I will make you lose your mind."
"D-DON'T TALK DIRTY LIKE THAT YOU FUCKING MOSSHEAD!!" Zoro laughs and pulls out his fingers. He then flips Sanji around so that he was on all fours. "Oh you are seriously asking for it you dirty brat!!"
He then proceeds to smack his butt real hard, earning a loud howl. Zoro continues to spank him until his asscheeks are completely red.
Sanji was happy about this. This was what he clearly wanted. He wanted Zoro to lose his mind like that and dominate him like the bad bitch that he is.
Sanji just smirks. "That all you got." Zoro raises an eyebrow. "Don't get too cocky bitch." He then spreads his ass cheeks and without warning, inserts his cock into his hole.
"AAH!!"
Zoro smirks and continues to pound into that ass without warning. "Oh my...fuck!! AH YES!! FUCK ME!! FUCK ME HARD!!" Sanji screams.
"That's it you dirty slut!! Take all of me!!" He keeps on fucking the living daylights out of him. Sanji begins to cry out some incoherent gibberish as it just feels good.
Soon, Zoro hits his prostrate which makes him see stars. "AH!! FUCK!!!" Zoro keeps on attacking that same spot, pulling Sanji back and capturing his lips in a kiss. "Fuck...I...I'm getting close." With one last final thrust, both men cum at the same time.
"Wow..." Sanji says, panting. Zoro soon pulls out and falls on the bed, chuckling. "I think I overdid it."
"Nah that felt good." Zoro helps to clean them up and the two head back outside, holding hands. "So, does this make us official?" Sanji asked. Zoro grins. "Yes it does."
Meanwhile, Sesshomaru is dragged and dumped in front of Terra. "Useless fool." she says. "I couldn't kill him. Not with that many people there."
"Excuses. Excuses. Excuses." She pulls out a gun and points it at him. "Say hello to your mother for me." Without hesitation, she pulls the trigger. Sesshomaru closes his eyes and says a silent prayer, preparing for the worst only for nothing to happen.
He opens his eyes to see a flag sticking out of the gun saying "Sike." She smirks. "Be grateful I did not stoop that low." She then whispers in his ear. "You were always a more worthier son to me than Zoro anyway." With that, she walks way with her guards following her, leaving a confused Sesshomaru behind.
Things are getting out of hand here. Terra as you can see is one heck of a scary woman.

Pirates of the East Blue (just a random scene of a nonexistent potc AU fic)
Whenever he had to deliver a new sword to the Vinsmokes, Zoro hoped for exactly this: Sanji testing the sword out with him. Even if that meant landing on his ass when he let the other beat him.
Because obviously Zoro had to let the governor’s son win. They both knew that if the game was fair, if life was fair, Zoro would have won. As it was, Zoro would have been more than happy to lie here all day, looking up at that blonde gentleman who was putting the masterfully crafted blade to his neck and playfully forcing him to surrender. But suddenly there were footsteps on the marble. Sanji’s smile fell and he hastily pulled the blacksmith to his feet, both of them standing straight, as the governor approached.
The Vinsmoke patriarch had a distaste for Zoro, but he did appreciate the craftsmanship of his swords. The presentation of this one went over as well as one could expect, mostly due to the fact that the governor was in a hurry to leave for some captains promotion or other...Zoro couldn’t give enough of a damn....
The blacksmith bowed in greeting, as the gentlemen were taking their leave “Good day, Governor…”
The old man gave him the slightest bow in return, as he hurried past him.
“...Mr Vinsmoke” Zoro turned to Sanji and bowed.
„I told you to call me Sanji!” the blonde rolled his eyes at him and smiled.
„Just one last time Mr. Vinsmoke, as always.” Zoro answered dutifully with another slight bow.
Sanji flinched and looked like he was swallowing bile as the greenhaired man stepped back.
When Zoro risked another glance Sanji was glaring down at him. „Good day Mr. Roronoa” he said coldly and turned away, not turning around again.
Thus missing the way Zoro mouthed his name to himself once Sanji was out of earshot, desperately wishing he could have called him by it before. But that was not his station. It was not his choice.
He didn’t decide what was right or wrong. Richer and more powerful men got to make the rules. Zoro was just a blacksmith trying to survive one day at a time.
That he had been standing here, looking ruefully at the tracks of the coach was not proper either, so he straightened up at once and started his long walk home.
It annoyed him just as much as Sanji that he couldn’t even call him by his name. It made him feel like a stranger, when that was the last thing they were. When, in reality, the Vinsmoke heir had played such an important role in his life.
The first time they met it was Sanji who saved his life, it was Sanji who fed him and made sure he was clothed. He would never forget how his eyes were the first thing he saw when he woke from his unconsciousness. How they had seemed the dark blue of the ocean in the dim light but he later learned they were much brighter, more like a mirror of a bright blue sky.
That day was the darkest day of his life and yet somehow he felt warmth when he thought back on it. It was the last day he ever felt cared for like that. That hot meal and the blanket was a kindness he would have to fight for every other day of his life since.
“Get it together moss for brains!” he scolded himself, sounding a little too much like his master. But it did get him out of his thoughts just in time to brace himself for facing the man himself in the smithy.
When he entered, however, he was glad to find that the master blacksmith had been knocked out cold, probably from poisoning his liver, as usual.

Chapter 1078 — Escape limit
I really enjoy the cover story! Good for Judge and Caesar; sad for Reiju and Ichiji, sighing in defeat. Maybe there is hope for the next generation of Vinsmokes after all?
Tumblr media
Confirmation about the Void Century research conducted on Egghead! As well as a nice little nod to the difference between government-sponsored weapons research (Egghead) and ancient institutionalised academia (Ohara) — one you can just bomb, the other will bomb you back.
Tumblr media
Cool use of the silhouette-against-explosion-trope here.
She is one cold-blooded snake, stomping Pythagoras like that, tho’ :(
I wonder if Boa and S-Snake’s powers are reversible through haki? If Law’s earlier negation of Doc Q’s sick-sick fruit is anything to go by, I’d say yes; her mero-mero power just has the unfortunate side effect of paralyzation, making your haki useless… power-up for Franky in the pipeline?
Tumblr media
Backup! Backup! Backup!
The flying thing is cool as well.
And Atlas is one big girl.
We knew that. But still.
Tumblr media
All rights, it’s nice that Sanji’s embracing his human-exoskeleton-thing. And his eyebrow has reversed, so it’s proper Germa Science! going on. But does he have to look so pleased with himself?
Ooo, also a lot of ideas about how his mum sacrificed herself so he could be normal and all the love she had and how that could be seen as the power of love too and how he continues the love and—
—and Luffy and Zoro are being absolute morons again.
Tumblr media
On the other hand, Kaku’ snot showing his critical thinking skills either right now, reacting way too late to being called Usopp.
And Luffy, really? You’ve fought Pigeon Guy earlier, why are you surprised he’d happily eliminate the weaker links to rattle the stronger ones? He’s done it before. You threatened/tricked him into not doing that once this fight is finished!
Tumblr media
On one hand, it’s the exact same tactic Luffy had against Kaido: bash your head against the wall until you think of something else.
On the other hand, I miss his earlier adaptation and quick battle-thinking. After the time-skip it feels like he’s just… hitting things again and again. Which, don’t read me wrong, is a pleasure at times (see: pummelling Caesar, pummelling Doflamingo, pummelling Cracker, pummelling Kaido…). But I do miss the wacky pre-timeskip fights: Luffy having to figure out how to fight with a ton of gold hanging of his arm. Luffy with a Door through his face. Luffy breaking Kuro’s swords. Water Luffy.
But we move on, to what will be known as the Egghead Incident, apparently.
Tumblr media
What do Bonney see? What secrets do Kuma’s memories hold? O_o
Tumblr media
Traitor speaking, how may I help you?
Love Angry Lilith in the background.
Tumblr media
Although art quality has gone down, Oda really can tell a story. This is the last panels on the spread and we still don’t know who it is. But it is someone huge: they have to bend to fit through the door and their shadow is massive on Vegapunk.
But who can it be?
Tumblr media
York is huge.
She was petrified by S-Snake; did she manage to unpetrify her as well in the chaos? Does she have an antidote? Do S-Snakes powers, unlike Boa’s, only last for a certain amount of time before unraveling?
I wonder if killing of the satellites destroys that part of Vegapunk’s personality or if they.. return, somehow?
And it’s a really nice comment on the need for balance in people. You are not only your feelings or desires: you are the combination of those, keeping each other in check and balance. People who lose their feelings make worse decisions that people with a healthy blend of rationality and emotion, for example, and no human can be completely rational. Vegapunk let his desires lose on the world, and where did that leave him? Prisoner in his own cellar.
And York: they don’t let you become a Celestial Dragon just like that, you know that, right Guessing the Elder Star on their ways has a special mission with regards to her…
Interesting chapter, nice plot drop. I give it a treasonous heart and a desire for the extravagant things in life (and total ignorance of the suffering producing those things).

REITASHI PRINCESS AND KNIGHT… yessss very good…
Nami’s ever growing polycule is my favorite part of one piece. She even pulled Uta in the new colorspread. Sanji could never pull girls the way a navigator lesbian can /j
YESS and I fully believe Reiju can be such a great partner for Tashi the second she gets out of Germa. Reiju has so much amazing potential that’s forcibly hidden away… Maybe Sanji would even teach her how to cook so she can try and make meals for Tashi hehe. Reitashi could trade sword + poison knowledge… Reiju fully supportive of Tashigi’s goals and cheering her on when she fights Zoro… Reiju getting the help of the Marines, who have turned their back on Germa after WCI, in order to abolish it… eee I think Tashigi really would love having someone around who genuinely cares about and supports her. Reiju would probably be more gentle with reminders (like when Tashigi loses her glasses that she’s also wearing) and less inclined to taunt her or call her stupid for it.
IDK if you’ve noticed yet but I am very big on the Vinsmoke siblings also 😭 they do so much to my brain I hope their sperm donor dies a horrible death one day after losing everything he owns <333
luffy after that colourspread:
Tumblr media
dude can't take it anymore after his whore brother ace </3 😔
I bet sanji too is kicking himself because his sister gets so many more bitches than him while. nami too picking up a girl every arc XD. Zoro is just proud of his rival tashigi. (mlm/wlw solidarity/hostility)
post germa reitash can be so personal actually Ur so right. they would make a killer battle couple OMG. poisons and swords.... (poison coated swords? 👀). also reiju as being so isolated and independent getting to be saved and vulnerable/cared about, and tashigi being underestimated and undermined getting to feel like she's doing something (we see with the kids at punk hazard, she's in it for the people that are helped), that she's STRONG.
also you saying that reiju would be gentle with her reminders and care did something to my brain because remembering how she's also a massive flirt (her picking tashigi's glasses of her head and onto her face, pushing the hair out of her face, listening to her ramble about sword lore asggdjdgdkbfjf ミ●﹏☉ミ ) they make me insane OMGGGG
yea lol Ur blog title is so incredibly based for that <3 I am too though not to the same extent. but I'm OBSESSED with everything wrong with them (esp 124ji, sci-fi themes and human experimentation my beloved <3. they suck ass n balls but they're also so deeply tragic in their own right) the family dynamics are insane and soso interesting. hope judge gets hit by a looney-toons esque gavel and dies yesyesyesy.

What do you think of the whole "Vegapunk calling Momonosuke's fruit a failure due to the color could be foreshadowing that Zoro is a failed clone of Ryuma" theory?
I dont like these theories 😔
Just because ONE thing is a failure doesnt mean similarities between other characters are the same thing?
I also think calling Zoro a Ryuma clone detracts a shitton from him as a character
I just prefer characters like Zoro to be just “some guy” its more fun like that and
Especially seeing as Luffy is the son of Dragon, Sanji is a Vinsmoke (biologically whether he likes it or not), Robin is from the ill fated Ohara and is one of the only people (i think im wrong abt this now tbh bc Pudding third eye???) who can read poneglyphs
They already have some BIG damn names in the crew — Jinbe bc warlord and stufff they dont need ryumas clone on top of it all, feels kinda lame imo
I like the idea of the Romance Dawn kids being the “og normal people who got good” aka Nami, Zoro and I know Usopp doesnt count in this trio title but shit Luffys a god now so Usopp counts imo
Those three are the original normal people who dont have devil fruits or any significant backgrounds, as far as im aware and of the opinion; theyre all orphans and thats what brings them together so beautifully, they also all wield weapons too
Have you noticed how all the devil fruit eaters dont really use any weapons at all other than their physical selves? EXCEPT BROOK but thats bc he didnt have any devil fruit power activation until after he was dead so makes sense he uses a sword too
Idk maybe im full of shit haha but i personally believe man leave Zoro alone? Let him be a guy a man a mossball
