how do any of you characters feel about Livia Sas Junius

Thank you!! This is a wonderful choice because damn was Ahru's beef with Livia kind of formative in those early ARR days.

Oh Livia. To say Ahru has a bad opinion of the woman would be an understatement, the attack on the Waking Sands did a real number on her mentally, the echo replaying the events in her nightmares mercilessly. The memory of Livia calling for Ahru specifically as she gunned down her comrades haunted her and twisted into a relentless rage and vengeance. It’s funny (haha…) to me how Livia was so dead set on this idea that Ahru was going to come steal everything from her, and Ahru’s vengeance was pinned on Livia stealing everything from her. She would kill her, burn everything Livia had worked so hard for, and protect those she could yet save.

So yeah, she kind of just reviles the woman; Ahru isn't prone to vengeance or grudges on the regular, she's generally laid-back and forgiving, but some (Livia and Ilberd) hit her so wrong mentioning them will still sour her mood some. She might entertain a pinch of pity, but definitely not in a remotely endeared sense of the word. Straight-up condescending pity. Of course, she’s dead now, so there’s a satisfaction to that, and Ahru has come far enough it’s not as if she’d have any reason to further dwell on- wait… what… Who’s that in the Aitiascope-?

Needless to say Thancred’s trust line “I thought we were past all of this.” (paraphrasing) cracked me up for how spot-on it felt. But, it’s true. There were far more important things to deal with, and she’s grown and learned and moved on, and Livia’s still festering in the aetherial sea, so nyeh.

I decided to redraw an old character I made, from memory

His name is Lean (Lee-ann)

A demon that grew up with the circus world, lived through a lot during his childhood and yet still lives happy as a performer thanks to the people he met throughout his life.

for a moment, armand is still — listening to the sounds of the dismissed vampire's footsteps as they create distance. he could have predicted what was said next, just as quickly as he can write it off. it doesn't matter. he turns back to face him with deliberate slowness. he locks onto louis, the amber hue of his dark eyes catching the candlelight.

❝ did you? ❞ it's rhetorical. armand excuses louis's protests as little more than a younger vampire's clinginess to pride and he does nothing to disguise the disbelief clear in his expression, eyebrows raising with question, and the compassionate ( sympathetic, not pitying ) exhale that follows. he perceives him as almost-human in sensitivity, in the emotions that drive him — he's fascinated. and with it, he yearns to shield, to protect ( to keep him ).

louis isn't the same as those within his coven. he's so severed from the old ways, born detached — completely of the new world. armand craves a deeper understanding, something to light him from the inside out again. the giddiness of the macabre dramatics of the theater was beginning to wane. and if armand senses any discord between him and any of the others, he won't hesitate to intervene. did he know how easily he'd turn them to ash for him? all that he built leveled for one.

it should be proof of the devotion he was willing to offer. crossing closer, it's as if he barely touches the floor, eyes locked on louis's, standing a breath away. ❝ why do you refuse my help? ❞

Three years sure don't sound like much but

I miss the sea

I miss feeling it on my feet come and go

Caressing my skin as if it will cleanse me of everything that has happened

I miss when I used to go about three times a year

And the breeze whispered in my ear as if to say that everything would be okay

Then it was reduced to one, i was too far from it

The gentle sea no longer took my thoughts away

And now I haven't felt it for three years

It's been three years since that aroma of salt and ocean filled my lungs, drowning me in familiarity

Three years in which I have not rolled in waves and the crabs do not bother my legs

Three years without its salty kisses that lulled me home, promising that it would still be there when I returned
