I've been having major autism on an AU version of Dardanne so I think it's time I share it here !

Basically, the AU is about Ghetsis never finding N and looking for a replacement for years. He ends up setting his sight on a vulnerable but compassionate kid, whom he calls Miséricorde, and makes them the replacement spear head of Plasma. N grows up amongst Pokémon, until he is found by Alder a few years later. N has a happy childhood, and becomes the protagonist of BW1.

AU will be tagged as #miséricorde au ! The AU version of Dardanne, called Miséricorde, will be tagged as #oc: miséricorde !

For this summary, Miséricorde is gendered as she/her before BW1, during BW1 and BW2, and is gendered as he/him post BW2, following his own development and experience with gender.

Early life :

Same as Canon Dardanne. She was born in a rather wealthy family. Her father was the Kalos water Gym Leader, but got dismissed after the League learned of his treatment of his Pokémon and family. Their family moved to Unova after that.

Ghetsis sees that as a great opportunity to find a replacement for the "child who talks to Pokémon" he never found. He becomes a family friend by helping the father become Unova's water Gym Leader thanks to his connections. He witnesses the unhealthy dynamics in the family, and quickly concludes that the middle child would be the best option for his plan, being the direct descendant of an excellent battler and having great compassion for Pokémon.

One day, said middle child goes missing. Her parents look for her, worried as she left without even taking a Pokémon or a bag with her. Ghetsis comforts the family.

Ghetsis returns to his home, in which he has taken in the daughter, saving her from her abusive home life. For better or worse.

Plasma Time :

Quickly after Ghetsis rescued the girl (This is literal kidnapping, don't let Ghetsis fool you), he starts to put his plan into motion. He realizes how hard it's going to be for the girl to have a special bond with Pokémon, but he manages to find a solution. He tells the girl that she might be worthy of a great destiny, but they need to test this hypothesis. If the girl lets a previously abused Pokémon attack her without trying to retreat or fight back, she'd prove her special bond to Pokémon and her compassion to them.

Girl passes the test. Ghetsis quickly persuades her of her special bond with Pokémon, and renames her Miséricorde. Her title becomes Martyr, as her bond is based on shared suffering with Pokémon. Ghetsis would never let her be a Queen, because in his opinion she isn't even half of what N is.

In general, Ghetsis has some very sexist biases and educates all his daughters (Miséricorde, Anthea and Concordia) to be nurturing, kind and gentle. He is upset that the spear head of Plasma isn't male.

Miséricorde grows to dislike her body and the way it changes as she grows up. She envies the men around her, but her concerns about her body and gender are quickly shut down.

Miséricorde goes through a lot of academic classes, like N does in canon, under the supervision of the Sages. She considers Ghetsis like her adoptive father and refers to him as "Father".

Several more "tests" happen. Ghetsis calls them "purity tests", and they are meant to ensure that Miséricorde still doesn't fight back or retreat when she gets attacked by Pokémon, showing her "compassion and love for Pokémon". This process ensures that Miséricorde is pure of heart enough to awake and wield Zekrom.

Her scars are hidden by makeup whenever she exits her room.

When Miséricorde is around 16, Ghetsis feels like she has been brainwashed enough to start training her properly in battling so she can take down the League and Alder.

BW1 journey :

At 20, Miséricorde is let back out into the world to gather the badges. Her face scars are hidden by makeup.

In Accumula Town, she finds a now adult N, and challenges him. N wins, and she feels confused at this outcome. She still acts friendly towards him. N hears Miséricorde's Pokémon, and is confused at how weary of humans they are.

She meets N again in Nacrene City. She challenges him, and he wins. She doesn't seem that surprised at the outcome, and congratulates N, saying she can't wait to battle him again and win next time. She leaves without more explanations.

Next encounter is in Nimbasa City. When N runs after the grunts who were bothering the Day Care owner, Miséricorde intercepts him and starts a conversation. At this point, N is worried about Plasma and knows something is off with Miséricorde. He drags her in the ferris wheel and demands answers. Miséricorde is honest and tells him about her being Plasma's Martyr, and that her end goal is to separate Pokémon from mankind with the help of Zekrom, to ensure Pokémon safety and well-being. N is shocked to hear that, having probably never encountered abused Pokémon before. He tries to persuade her to put an end to her plans, but she politely refuses. She battles him to allow the grunts to escape, and N wins.

N meets Miséricorde in Chargestone Cave. They have a short heart to heart conversation, talking about their mutual life goals. They battle, and despite Miséricorde having the upper hand for a good part of the battle, N wins. Miséricorde thinks of N as her best opponent yet, congratulates him, and leaves.

They have another encounter in Mistralton City. Miséricorde meets N when he exits the Gym. She tells him she is sorry that her plans are going to separate him from his team, but that it is for the best of everyone involved. It rains, and the water damages Miséricorde's makeup, allowing some of her face scars to show.

In Dragonspiral Tower, Miséricorde awakes Zekrom and takes control of him. When N arrives, too late, she still gives him the opportunity to challenge her later by sending him to find Reshiram, giving him a chance to battle her fairly one last time.

When N arrives to the league after finding the White Stone, Miséricorde has already beaten Alder. She summons the Castle, which raises out of the ground and boxes in the League.

While the Gym leaders, trainers and Alder fight the grunts, N manages to infiltrate the Castle. He finds Miséricorde in the throne room and challenges her. Miséricorde seems happy to have one last fair fight against N.

N wins, and despite knowing that his victory is shattering all her plans and endangering the liberation of Pokémon, she still congratulates him through her tears.

Ghetsis is enraged. He berates Miséricorde. When he realizes N is the "child who talks to Pokémon", he tries to have him join Plasma to replace Miséricorde. N refuses and battles Ghetsis, winning.

Miséricorde flees with Zekrom and her team. After beating Alder, N leaves Unova in search for her.

BW1/BW2 time gap / BW2 :

Miséricorde heads back to Kalos, where she originally came from. She settles in the Pokémon Village. She sometimes goes to Snowbelle City to retrieve items. Wulfric takes pity on her and often brings her what she needs for free.

N manages to find Miséricorde after years of searching. Despite the bond they created in BW1, she refuses to follow him back to Unova for a long time.

After a few months of debating, Miséricorde accepts to go back to Unova with N. They don't really settle for long, as quickly enough, they both realize they have to stop Ghetsis. They save Nate/Rosa from Kyurem, but Miséricorde's Zekrom is fused to Kyurem. N battles Black Kyurem, then Ghetsis, and wins.

Post BW2 :

With Ghetsis and Plasma defeated for good, Miséricorde is left with no life goals and no identity. She struggles with her gender for a long time, before finally coming out as a trans man.

Miséricorde doesn't want to join the Safe House, feeling uncomfortable with the grunts' devotion to him. He joins Alder and N's household.

Miséricorde attempts to release his Pokémon, but they stay by his side. Zekrom is more of a free spirit and can leave for days, but always comes back home.

N and Miséricorde finally officially get together, despite having what can be considered a romantic relationship beforehand👍

Fun facts :

"Miséricorde" is French for mercy, compassion, forgiveness.

Miséricorde retains almost exactly all of Dardanne's canon personality !

Miséricorde daydreams a lot and rarely gets out of his fantasy world as a coping mechanism to protect himself from the damages done to him in Plasma. It can be hard to grab his attention sometimes.

Miséricorde doesn't nickname his Pokémon, feeling this would be disrespectful to them.

Pokémon Team :

Archeops : Miséricorde's main Pokémon partner. He was given to him as an little Archen when Miséricorde became Plasma's Martyr to keep him company. Archeops as a special signification, being a fossilmon, his existence is possible only due to human interference, just like how Miséricorde was made into the Martyr by Ghetsis.

Zekrom : The legendary dragon of Ideals. Miséricorde has a tendency to cuddle him and pet him a lot, which makes Zekrom feel a bit embarrassed. He secretly enjoys the affection.

Carracosta : Another fossilmon gifted by Ghetsis. He is a quiet and calm Pokémon, but really well trained and a great battle pokémon.

Cincinno : She was also given to Miséricorde as a mincinno by Ghetsis. It's very likely she was abused in the past. She doesn't like humans outside of a very few.

Liepard : One of Miséricorde's first pokémon with Archeops and Galvantula, she was given to him by Ghetsis at the start of his journey in BW1. Liepard is mischievous but good-hearted.

Galvantula : He had been used as little Joltik for one of Miséricorde's purity tests. Miséricorde had insisted to see the Pokémon again, and ended up bonding with him. Joltik seemed to regret having harmed Miséricorde and started trusting him. Ghetsis allowed Joltik to join Miséricorde's team.

I still can't get the unused concept art of Wish out of my head so I've been reading a lot of rewrites and looking at a lot of Wish redesigns...

So... I got inspired. I'm currently conceptualizing my own Wish "rewrite/redesigns", but with a twist. It's gonna be a spiritual "prequel", cuz idk I feel like being meta since we'll be using the original concepts before the final concepts/decisions made for the final movie XD

Many of my "prequel" characters will be stand-ins for the canon characters! So "Asha" will be renamed "Amala", "Magnifico" will be called "Mamoun", and so on. Think of Pokemon Legends: Arceus regarding the relations of these "OCs" with the canon characters.

Anyway, here are the designs I have so far! I only have the designs for Amala and the Star for now. Hopefully, I can get to draw the other characters soon, especially Mamoun and his wife.

The story will be called "Once Upon a Wish"

Here's an overview of what I have so far... Some details may change if I feel like my other choices serve the story better. (Also, small disclaimer, this is just a veryyy self-indulgent AU made by yours truly, so some details may not be accurate with the canon lore present in Wish)

The story takes place on the same island of Rosas, but from many years ago. If my research is right, canon Wish takes place in the 1200s, so maybe my "prequel" can take place in around the 900s-1000s. Rosas definitely wasn't called Rosas back then, but I'm still figuring out what to call it so I'm just gonna refer to it as "an island".

Amala is a shy, meek, but hardworking apprentice of the island's head sorcerer Mamoun (hence, her color palette looks similar to Mickey's outfit from The Sorcerer's Apprentice). Despite all her hard work in her magic studies, she doesn't really excel at using magic, making a lot of accidents during training. If there's anything she really excels at, it's the act of storytelling (She can draw/animate, sing, and write stories like fairy tales).

Amala also has a little sister Ayah, who I can imagine is the Lilo/Anna to Amala's Nani/Elsa. Ayah is spunky and cheerful, but she has an illness that makes her disabled. The sisters are orphans, but they live under an old family friend they affectionately call Grandpa Dabir. Dabir is a retired bard turned doctor who was part of a troupe with 6 other former bards, all of whom he and the sisters still interact.

All of these are from Angel's playlist which is organized as a timeline of his life, from his childhood in foster care, to enlisting in the army at 18, serving in the Gulf War and losing his leg, to the ensuing depression while he recovers and relearns how to walk, to his lengthy bender of sex & drugs when he moves to the city and finds out about gay bars, to him trying desperately to pull some semblance of a life together with what scraps of himself he has left.

An event that defines your character's past

This ones in reference to Angel's injury while serving in the army, an explosion tearing through his leg and shrapnel ripping up his shoulder and face. He spent a good amount of time bouncing between hospitals, from field hospitals to Germany and back state-side, and had to come to terms with the reality and severity of his injury.

2. How your character sees themselves

I think in many ways its always been this way, but it definitely worsened after being disfigured; Angel has always seen himself as less of a person and more of a monster, which is why he's always felt a sort of kinship with the Monster in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. I think its a potent cocktail of autism, self esteem issues, and the endless, clinging isolation of growing up in the foster system.

3. How others view them

I think from an outside view Angel comes off as really mysterious and cool, he's very serious and quiet and drives a motorcycle. But in reality hes just autistic and terribly uncomfortable and would rather be at home.

4. Their closest relationship (platonic or romantic)

It takes so much patience and soft love to get Angel to unravel his layers and layers of bottled up shame and pain and desperation. He learned from a young age that to survive he needed to keep as much of himself hidden as he could, and he's clung to that sentiment his entire life. He struggles so much expressing when hes suffering and asking for help, will keep things bottled up even when he knows hes sabotaging himself.

5. A major fight scene

This one's the climax point of his experience with war, having whatever faith he clung to shaken hard when he saw sheer cruelty and mindless violence of it all.

6. End credits song

This is the last song on his playlist, to me it symbolizes this feeling of hope for a future that's really new for Angel, he's spent so long trying to just get through each day. Having someone by his side that he can dream of a future with is more than he could have ever asked for.

So, I finally caved and decided to share a Witch!OC I've been working on:

I haven't fully settled on a name for her just yet, but her wip name for now is "First Forest Cookie".

I'm hoping I can maybe get some feedback about her?

Here are some notes about her lore and design:

Her cloak is made from Raven Feathers (I just forgot to color them black lol) and her staff is petrified wood with amber in the middle. Her bracelets are made from the same (Though, in Earthbread, they're made from a sort of hard candy). The necklace she wears is said to be an amulet given to her by a very old friend.

She lives in a very old forest referred to as "The Place of Many Names" as it has been named and renamed by cookies as they've come and gone.

The foliage in her horns changes with the seasons. Kinda like Sawsbuck from Pokemon. This is her Summer form.

She is never seen without her skull mask. None have ever seen her true face. Though, perhaps you may be lucky, or unfortunate, enough to get a glimpse of yellow eyes peering through..

She's a bit of a loner and avoids interacting with cookies whenever possible. There are a few exceptions.

She is selectively mute, but when she does choose to speak, her voice is very slow and deep, like the groaning of an old tree in the wind.

While her fellow witches created the cookies of the world, First Forest Cookie is said to have been the one who populated the world with wild creatures. She has neither confirmed nor denied this. From cake hounds to jelly bees to everything in-between, they all treat her with equal parts respect and fear.

Before she was First Forest Cookie, she was known as "The Witch of Freedom", however many of her peers referred to her as "The Wild Witch". All save one..

Any cookie who has ever tried to settle or "tame" her forest, or worse yet her, are usually never seen again. Many have tried over the centuries. Many have failed. (Many have also learned just how many old trees have teeth)

ABSOLUTELY i did not expect anyone to ask to be honest….goodness where do i even begin. Let’s see. I’ll start with my main little doomed love triangle thing i suppose

Cecilia Paek, she/her, 24 yrs old, aka: cece, celia, eight, whore, freak, slut, etc. My agent 8. born in the domes under the name Paek Seo-Mi, but renamed herself to cece post-memory loss. A freak both in the not-safe-for-work sense and just. In general. She says the most unhinged shit in such a passive formal manner. Marina has to consistently tell her she’s not allowed to eat the jelletons. She bites. A lot.

aside from being a freak cece is curious and observant, but incredibly blunt and fierce. In the past Seo-Mi was a much quieter and more repressed person, but hearing the Inkantation awakened a flame within her, so to speak. Cece is incredibly vocal about her thoughts and feelings, and she does not like to be pushed around. although shes always been a very nostalgic person, shes been trying to look forward more often than not. (she was on team future!)

cece has a very mature, almost sisterly presence, and is especially close with neo 3 (ikra) and her pseudo sister agent 4 (yottsu). she also has a daughter of her own, yumi! ikra and yottsu are my friends ocs so i cant say too much about them but ikra is like, basically her and kyle’s adopted kid

Kyle Lastname, (Actual surname to be determined Eventually) he/him, 25 yrs, aka three, cap, kyle, ceces silly rabbit /j. he’s my captain 3. has a stupid ass name bc he’s a stupid ass guy. Basically started as a joke oc but i put him through the Horrors. he’s the malewife of all time.

Grew up the only hearing person in a deaf/hard of hearing household so he’s fluent in sign language. He joined squidbeak when he was like 16 mostly bc he was a MASSIVE FUCKING LOSER with a huge ego who wanted the attention. Now he has Trauma and hates his teen self more than anything. (The egotistical little white kid phase is like, a rite of passage in his family. His little sister is still in that phase.) Now that he’s mellowed out hes just a sopping wet cat. Dating cece and is obsessed with her + will do literally whatever she wants.

Hes a lot more talkative than canon 3, hes the kind of guy who copes with humor all the time. he tries to be cool and mysterious but hes really awkward and gets flustered or worked up super easily. He’s overall a pretty boring guy and thats his charm. She’s barbie and he’s just ken. etc etc.

Hes SO dad coded btw. He and cece have a daughter together, Yumi. Since he was young he spent a lot of time looking after his little sister and he’s basically adopted his protege, neo3 (ikra). he makes me think of RTGame for reasons i could not describe to you, it’s just the energy somehow. He’s my babygirl. My little meow meow if you will (Cece voice)

Victoria Mendoza, she/her, 25 yrs, aka Tori. SHE is the fucked up one. Literally doomed by the narrative. Eye love her.

She comes from a long line of elite soldiers and was a child prodigy, but also the Problem Child. Got expelled from multiple schools for beating up other kids. from a young age she’s been incredibly critical of the octarian society and she was basically your average teen rebel. into alt music/fashion, incredibly vocal about her distaste for the system, fairly closed off with a cold exterior. the only person she truly cared for was Seo-Mi (Cece).

Seo-Mi was quiet and sweet and generally pretty average academically, so she didn’t have nearly as much pressure on her to succeed compared to Tori. the two were childhood friends and teenage lovers. The only ones who truly matched each others freak if you will. When they were little girls they used to dream of escaping to the surface together. this changed when they were about sixteen years old.

the most important thing to know about tori is that she is a pessimist and at her core a Coward. She’s all bark and no bite. She’ll scream her hatred of authority from the rooftops but immediately crumble at the sight of her leader. and as she got older and officially entered her career, she lost hope. she determined the surface wouldn’t have anything more for her than the domes did. she became complacent, while Seo-Mi, who had previously been more neutral, had heard the inkantation and only become more determined to leave the domes.

The two desperately tried to change each other’s minds but they were far too stubborn. both of them were crushed by the supposed “betrayal” of their beloved. Inevitably Seo-Mi left for the surface, eventually being taken in to Kamabo Co. while tori stayed behind to rot.

Since Seo-Mi left, tori became more bitter than ever before. she turns her focus to her career, and her family, but she never truly moves on from the loss. Unfortunately, Cece did. Cece met someone else, she’s started a family, she has a completely new name. she’s essentially a new person. and Tori is still the same.

Canonically i don’t think they would ever meet again and actually recognize each other, but i like to play with the idea sometimes bc if they did they would Hate each other. Tori is completely incapable of accepting that her Seo-Mi has moved on. She is clinging on to a version of someone that doesn’t exist anymore. tori is a deeply self destructive person and will never move on in any sense of the word. Sad!

Also this is Yumi. Age varies but shes like. Very young toddler as of the current timeline. She’s cece and kyle’s favorite surprise (Accident). They’re both freaks and shes the consequences of their actions. She and smollusk have playdates together. She’s obsessed with off the hook but doesn’t realize that her weird lesbian aunts pearl and marina are the same people. She’s baby

haaaaai I'm not dead. school's been beating me up past few weeks and I've had too many things to do all at once. Got some time to finish this though!

And to everyone waiting on requests, I'm going to TRY (no promises) getting to them tomorrow and over the weekend. I thank you for your patience, I simply have not had the time or mental capacity to focus on drawing as much as I'd like.

Continuing on, I've been unhappy with my OC's name, so after much deliberation with myself, I'm renaming Ollam to Scalpie!

I've always thought she has my kinda personality; a chill but introverted people-pleaser and a total weirdo. Still not as detailed as I'd like it, but if you've met me, that's basically who Scalpie is (personality-wise)

I've also changed a fair bit of her backstory, so there's a little rambling below cut:

Scalpie worked as an assistant to a forensic scientist at Camp 98.7, where she would help him dissect solver drone bodies (the cores were kept at CFL) and study them.

The human named her after the scalpel tool, mostly because he quickly grew tired of referring to her as "you" or "drone".

(He's intelligent, organized, and hard-working, but stingy and grumpy. He sees drones as the kind of machine that, with some pressure, should be perfect at their job.)

The human would show her how to do things and ask her to copy them, such as cutting open a drone or taking notes.

This led to Scalpie being pretty good with little notes and insensitive to gore and blood, but also drawing (she often had to draw diagrams along with the notes). Her human wasn't fond of the drawings she'd make when she wasn't busy.

(This was mostly because she actually enjoyed drawing creepy/scary stuff. Plus he started with a drone that worked tirelessly at his side without distraction, but it was now developing a mind of its own - something he knew would get in the way.)

One day, Scalpie had gone up to the dissection room on her own to look into the head of a solver drone. There was already tension between her and the human after he threatened to decapitate her for wasting paper on drawing corpses.

He had enough with her after he caught her tampering with a corpse alone, so he shocked her, marked her for disassembly, and killed her by cleaving her scalp. He didn't care that this wasn't the correct protocol, he just wanted the defective rogue gone.

Shortly after, the core collapse happened. Yay :]

Sometime after the core collapse, an improperly disposed Scalpie was rebooted after Solver struck a deal with her: She give in and concede with the Solver's bidding, and Solver revives her and make sure she won't die again.

(This was so Solver had an effective way of dealing with the drones on Copper-9 until the DDs got there)

Since then, Scalpie's been living alone in the cabins. She met Uzi when the emo worker drone was searching a cabin and (after realizing Uzi was a SD too) decided to tag along back to Outpost 3, having grown tired of being alone, and hoping to make a friend, outside of Cyn.

          It hurt. He hated it, but he was beginning to understand that he couldn't pretend to be something he wasn't just to please others. That hurt more than the rejection of anyone.

          Rejecting himself hurt more than the rejection of anyone.

          Arthur was happy, proud to hear him talk. Without a doubt, something very different from the Matteo who had stopped talking to him after that weekend.

          —So... we...? —he dared to ask when he noticed that Matteo had finished talking.

          —I don't know. —he almost whispered.

          —What do you want to do? —

          —What do you want? —

          —I asked first. —They both laughed when Leclerc gave a slight nudge after repeating his phrase. —I'd like to try something. —He confessed, wanting to help Matteo say what he wanted to do.

          —Me too. —He nodded, looking down, feeling the heat rise to his face again. —Maybe- go slow. I want to do things right. —The brunette nodded in agreement.

          He would accept any terms as long as he could spend time with Matteo again. Wanting to go slow would mean taking a step back from what he had already experienced, but he trusted that it would be for the better. Form a good base in their relationship before moving forward.

          —Can I hug you? —He asked.

          —Always. —

Mimic is a new OC of mine I wanted to post because I'm finally out of my art block for now. Also can you tell I'm into transformers now lmao. I started watching transformers prime earlier in 2024 and went down the transformers hyper fixation rabbit hole like a dumbass and I've been loving Megatron more and more. Surprise shawty, another villain crush. But I remembered I have the power of art and can make anything I want and made Mimic and her backstory. So it's stupid and cliche but I like it. I'm still thinking of making a comic about it but I'm so lazy and can't focus on making one page let alone a panel so it's a hard maybe.

Mimic, Conjunx of Megatron/ Queen of the decepticons. She had the ability of taking on the appearance of any other cybertronian and using their powers to her advantage. She could also manipulate any part of her own body to transform into weapons or jets, wheels you name it to get by. But in her original form she's quite weak and relies on her reflexes to dodge a strike. Her chest and legs are made of a flexible material to change color, shape and any material to accommodate for her various forms whether robot/vehicle, the rest of her is pure metal and circuits. Her voice can change as well so it could be quite uncanny even to her when she's hunting down her target. She's still getting used to her body as she isn't 100% cybertronian. Whether or not she's actually a threat or just someone for Megatron to squeeze is totally up for debate to the other decepticons/Autobots since Megatron barely lets her out in fear she could get hurt again.

Mimic used to be a young woman named Violet, a energetic, kind hearted girl that lived alone on a small farm. And there's the cliche, a giant alien robot crashes on her farm. Violet earns the trust of Megatron by repairing him even enough he threatened her multiple times he'll kill her afterwards. She was determined to make sure he was functional and would die trying if she fails. Violet becomes his pet among the Nemesis, yet overtime Violet became more than a pet to him. He protected her from the other cons that found out about her presence on the ship. She was severely injured by a stray Autobot blaster shot which Megatron was devastated. He had her remaining intact organs used to power her new body that was made up of dead Vehicons and whatever was left of Makeshift after his demise. Since Violet renamed herself Mimic, she's still trying hard to fit in even though she knows she's an abomination. She can't eat, barely sleeps because of nightmares, nor can she feel pain, only hot or cold or pleasure. Now that she was crowned queen, she's determined to lead her new army to either victory or peace with the Autobots, though she is protecting her own home world by keeping the fights away from other humans.

Just a couple things of Violet before she became Mimic. Violet's past is a bit weird but I'm still trying to figure it out. Making new OC lore is so hard, especially when they start out with the cringe stage of making them. Right now I'm trying to make her story work and not too lovey dovey robot/human romance even though it kinda is lol. I like a little bit of angst n drama. I'm still trying to make her work by not making her that one OP character that can beat Goku lmao. I just want to make a cool character idea without making her sound cringe 😭 anyways. Thank you for reading if you read everything. I don't post on here often because I don't draw often and don't have a lot of good drawings to post initially. Also yes, I use bases because I'm super bad at perspective.

This will be an extensive post so obviously I'm going to put it under a read more and also tag it with spoilers... because not everyone has finished Veilguard!

That being said, I've put everything in order of most recent game to the earliest, that way if you're only interested in what weird shit I'm cooking for Veilguard, it'll be right there at the top.

EDIT: this got long. This post is Veilguard only. I'll put Origins and Dragon Age 2 in a different one.

This is mostly for my own personal reference as I continue to write banter and fanfiction, but I like posting it where people can see it if they get curious. This is all subject to change, as OCs can (and should) change as their writers do. That's progress and growth, babey.

Maybe someday I'll even include screenshots of my OCs. Dragon Age Origins my crusty beloved.

Veilguard

Lanalath De Riva (he/they)

My currently canon playthrough. Not my current playthrough, just my canon Rook atm. This might change with time.

Age: 29

Race: Elf, non-Dalish

Faction: Antivan Crows my beloved

Class: Sword and Orb mage.

Specialization: Spellblade, lightning and fire focused. This was nuts to run, and I did it by accident.

Romance: Lucanis the disaster that you are

Birthplace: Seheron

Brief backstory:

Ngl this one was a hassle to work out. Originally Lana was a Lords of Fortune named Monarch, only I did a full playthrough and then realized Lana fit the Crows far better. And then I changed their entire backstory bc it no longer fit 😭

So Lana is, as you read, from Seheron originally. This is partially due to The Iron Bull's influence, I hyperfixated pretty hard during Inquisition.

Lana's one of many in that shitshow of a war-torn nation, probably made exceptionally worse now that the Antaam's separated from the Qun. Bioware give us more world politics and lore.

Their story is pretty straight to the point, and very DA2 and DAO inspired. In the endless war between Tevinter and the Qunari, some magister decided that a feral elf child from Seheron would make an excellent gift, and kidnapped them. Lana (a la Anders vibes) stubbornly refused to give their birthname, and was renamed by another elven slave aboard the ship.

This slaver ship got sunk before it could make it to port, and Lana was one of the ones that survived.

Through sheer luck, they made it to Antiva, and barely scraping by, made it to sixteen years of age.

And then a young Viago fell out of a window directly on top of them trying to escape someone inevitably trying to kill him, and a friendship was formed.

Lana stayed glued to his side since then, being his loyal shadow, until the Crows gave up trying to separate the two and just recruited Lana instead.

Viago's "canonically" (via datamined information) 32ish, so there's only a three year difference, making them have an incredibly strong rapport.

As a result of their childhood, Lana speaks fluent Qunlat and Antivan, and a handful of Tevene. This means the Crows send them to deal with the Antaam when needs must.

What happens if Lana doesn't become Rook/doesn't romance Lucanis:

It takes an incredibly long time, but Teia and Viago eventually get Lana into their bed (and into their hearts). Lana remains Viago's shadow, and helps Taash guide those who choose to split from the Antaam into better lives. Also helps deal with the sudden influx of Tal-Vashoth in Antiva. Even after the Antaam, you know population statistics are going to drastically change.

Other OCs Lana knows: Kaarash-Taar (later documented), Ghil'danan (later documented), Wren (later documented), and Riesel (later documented).

Ghil'danan Ingellvar (he/him, ftm)

My favorite punching bag. Idk why I love traumatizing him specifically so much, but I do. I've written considerably more for him than I have my other OCs, and I'm almost done with my playthrough of him. And by almost I mean like. Post the two dragon fight.

Faction: Mourn Watch! My favorite goths.

Class: Warrior, sword and shield

Specialization: Reaper. It made sense for Mourn Watch. Surprisingly, not my favorite, though the death tornado is cool.

Romance: Emmrich, my beloved. I keep wanting to spell it "Emmerich". Old classy goth x Grungepunk goth energy. Sorry, dad.

Birthplace: Denerim! *Rubs hands together evilly*

Backstory:

I'll...try and keep this one short. I've been hyperfixating on him lately so his stuff's gotten out of control.

Ghil was born in the Denerim alienage, pre-blight. Raised briefly by his mother, he wasn't born Ghil'danan, it was the name he took later on.

Ghil's father was out of the picture from the start. His mother shared stories of his father growing up, so he's aware neither of them wanted to part, but there was a lot of baggage and kids learn young not to press on things that make their parents cry later.

Fast forward to the events of DA:O.

Ghil is more or less raised with Shanni as a sort of sister figure. Events begin steamrolling, his mother is one of the elves sold to Tevinter by Loghain (when I catch you Loghain Loghain when I catch you), and he's witness to all the horror of The Wedding. Those of you who played City Elf origin know what I'm talking about.

Ghil develops a hatred of Shems (he gets better, but those scars run deep, and I don't blame him), and things get dicey with Shanni. I'm tiptoeing around it because origins was very direct with Shanni's alcoholism.

The blight hits, the Alienage gets overrun, and Ghil flees. He loses Shanni in the chaos, and gets temporarily picked up and thrown into a tree by the overhead Archdemon, therefore cementing his fear of dragons and heights.

He obviously survives the fall, and runs past a human girl pinned in place by an ogre that was killed by a piece of fallen rubble.

He hesitates. Remembers that his mother would have wanted him to be kind to those in need, and with a LOT of effort, saves the girl.

They flee the city together. He learns her name is Wren, an orphan. Ghil is twelve as of the fall of Denerim. Wren is seven.

I'm not gonna get into the more mary sue aspects of Ghil's personality, but needless to say, it turns out Wren has the blight, Ghil willingly makes a deal with a spirit to transfer his brand spanking new magic to her to postpone her blighted condition, and they make it into Nevarra by sneaking through the Orlesian border. This is not easy, but they're children so it's easy...er. Easier.

Mourn Watch goes "hey that's some interesting magic you've got there" and takes Wren in who's like "hey fuck you take my brother too" and they're like "these two are definitely not related but okay"

And then they attend schooling together, until a few years later when Wren's condition begins to worsen again, because it's the BLIGHT, and she gets recruited into the Wardens.

This is where Wren and Ghil's paths split. More later on Wren. For now, my punching bag.

With Ghil's genius, fierce sister out of the way, he gets bullied RELENTLESSLY. Ghil's a smart cookie, but his grades begin to drop and he fully introverts.

Then, Hezenkoss takes him in as her student. Sort of. He's technically her student, but moreso she wanted a henchman to narrate at, and he got stuck doing a lot of manual labor.

Hezenkoss gets him trained up as a Reaper, especially as he shoots up like a weed and becomes The Second Tallest Elf Ever (I'm looking at you, Halsin Baldurs Gate 3), and transitions. Hezenkoss doesn't notice. He's not her Archnemesis Emmrich, so she doesn't care.

She also doesn't notice when he anonymously tips off the Mourn Watch that she's up to shit. Someone had to be the whistleblower, that's all I'm saying.

And from there, he graduates into a proper member of the Mourn Watch.

After a chance encounter with Professor Volkarin in the Memorial Gardens (with the tissue box, a la Clue), Volkarin comforts a grieving eighteen year old who has incredibly complicated feelings about the death of Shanni and being completely alone in the Mourn Watch.

Volkarin is unaware that this not only revives passion in the Mourn Watch in the Youth (this is actually pre-transition, oops), but plants the seeds of a budding affection.

Ghil then spends the next fourteen years trying to forget his first crush, fails miserably, wrecks several relationships in the process, and changes completely by getting tattoos and pretty much only ever hanging out with the dead.

And Myrna and Vorgoth.

Then the events of the game happen, and oh no! Guess there are Still Feelings for Volkarin, and now Ghil is helpless to fall head over heels in a proper, adult love.

What happens if Ghil isn't Rook/doesn't romance Emmrich?:

Let's be honest. Ghil would always romance Emmrich. But in the course of "never became Rook and Emmrich old man yaoi'd with Strife", it's...hm. A bit sad.

Wren dies in the end (unless she's Rook). So Ghil fully closes off to the living, and spends the rest of his life with the dead. He still has a living friend in Lana, of course (to be explained in Wren's backstory), but that's the most of it. I'd like to hope that Ghil falls in love with someone else. Do I, the writer, think he will? No. Ghil has been spending fourteen years trying to fight his own heart. He's one of those people who wants to move on but just can't. It's the inherent tragedy of his life.

Where the hell is Ghil's dad in all this?:

He's one of the Greater Dead. Literally cannot leave the Necropolis, got the love of his life pregnant and kicked it. Ghil has no idea, and Etheldredd also has no idea that his child is a part of the Mourn Watch.

The Necropolis is vast. Maybe they'll find each other posthumously.

Other OCs Ghil knows:

Lana, Wren (to be documented, but also duh), Riesel (to be documented). Very vaguely Din, a HoF OC, because she was at The Wedding and lived in the same alienage.

Wren (she/they)

She's baby and I love her. Too bad I'm addicted to the inherent tragedy of the plot. I'm not goth for nothing.

Race: Human!

Faction: Grey Wardens, my favorite narrative punching bag. Or Bioware's, besides the elves.

Class: Mage, whackin' stick staff.

Specialization: Death Caller! I haven't played it yet but I plan to for her playthrough. Seemed appropriate.

Romance: Undecided. Maybe Bellara, because Neve's already planned for someone else and I managed to make Harding disapprove of me A LOT in the beginning of my Wren Run.

Taash is also definitely on the table. As I said, undecided.

Birthplace: Denerim! Same as Ghil.

Backstory:

The majority of Wren's early childhood can be referenced in Ghil's long-winded backstory. So this'll hopefully be shorter.

Wren was the illicit bastard of a Chantry sister and a Templar. Thus, she got dropped off on the orphanage's steps and summarily forgotten.

Despite this, Wren had a pretty happy childhood! Sure there was the occasional haunting and blood magic and slew of murders in Denerim, but that's pretty normal.

...right?

She knows who her father is, simply because his conscience is more guilty than her mother's. Her father stopped by to check up on the orphanage regularly on his circuit, and she often got cheap gifts from a father who was rarely there.

Still, she dreamed of being a Templar when she grew up.

Flash forward, Denerim, the Blight, everyone dies, and she finds a brother in Ghil'danan.

For a while, Wren remains one of the top students in the Mourn Watch. She grows up, attends lectures by Volkarin who becomes a mentor figure to her, and perfects her magecraft.

And then, her blight symptoms get worse.

Wren collapses on her way to class, and is found by a Grey Warden, who offers to recruit her and stay the Blight's hand a while longer.

She agrees. (This is where her particular backstory gets a fuckton of content warnings, so I'm going to keep it light. To be blunt, my OCs are often a dumping ground for trauma, and Wren got a lot of the heavier ones. Trigger warning for grooming and abuse. There'll be red text like this when trigger warnings are over.)

Wren is trained specifically by one Warden, the one who saved her. He's an older Weisshaupt veteran who's well-respected, and encourages her as she grows.

And when she turns eighteen, he tells her that due to her young age, it could reflect poorly on him that he made her do the Joining so young. He tells her that if she wants to remain a Grey Warden she'll marry him, and she owes him for it because he saves her life.

And for a few years, this works. She endures a very abusive relationship.

And then, Ghil finds out.

Because of her Warden husband's venerated status, he's hard to bring to justice, so Ghil just takes the swifter path.

He hires a Crow, a young one named Lana De Riva, and although they're reluctant when they find out it's a Warden that's the target, context for the hit makes them agree.

And together, they make it seem like an accident.

Wren's highly conflicted at first, but over time, settles into her new, freed role. She becomes a Warden librarian, for lack of a better term, and finds herself. She still keeps a low profile in the worries that someone will find out what her brother did, but remains relatively at peace even as her Calling slowly creeps closer.

What happens if Wren isn't Rook/doesn't romance anyone?:

Well, Wren's a strong independent nonbinary who don't need no man, but she's also got the constitution of wet paper in a typhoon. So when she's not Rook, she participates in Weisshaupt. While she survives, the aftereffects of adding more blight to her system is what eventually does her in, much to Ghil's grief.

I like to think she becomes a spirit of Kindness or Joy. Or good ol' fashioned Wisdom.

Did the Templar father make it?:

If he did I'd make him kick it at Therinfal Redoubt. But no he doesn't. Wren still has his Templar cloak that he gave her, once. She's got mixed feelings on her father.

OCs that Wren knows: Ghil (duh), and Lana.

In the circumstances where she dies, Lana and Ghil pull a favor with Riesel to get her HoF father to accompany Wren to the Deep Roads, as he's her idol and an uncorrupted part of the Wardens. So technically, she meets Lithe Surana, my DA:O OC and canon HoF.

Kaarash-Taar (he/him)

Finally, a bulwark of maturity and a breath of fresh air in the Trauma Squad. I'm very excited to play Kaarash in a later playthrough. Because I've been focused on the Traumatized Three, I haven't given too much thought to him yet. Just basic sketches of ideas.

Romance: Neve. Honestly bc I'm a gay transman I almost never go for the female LIs, but Neve... she's cool as hell. I wanna see what she's like. Incidentally when I made Kaarash I forgot Neve belonged to the Shadow Dragons factions LMAO

Birthplace: he doesn't know! Most of his young life was spent at sea.

Backstory:

Kaarash-Taar is an orphan, picked up by an old Tal-Vashoth sailor nicknamed Beres.

Beres, who grew up under the Qun, did what any ex-beresaad would do - drag the kid onto his Captain's ship and teach him the ways of the world and the Qun.

Ironically, this happened to be Isabela's ship.

Beres was a part of Isabela's old crew, pre DA2 events. He heavily respected his captain, and expected the same of his adoptive son.

When Isabela's ship was wrecked in the reefs, Beres and his young son survived, being taken aboard a ship while adrift at sea.

This was seen as a miracle, until they learned it was a slaver's ship, and the two were supposed to be cargo.

That didn't go to plan. Years of work as Beresaad and then with Isabela made Beres a wickedly sharp warrior, and Kaarash was much the same way. They managed to corral the slaves, enact a plan to overthrow the slavers, and successfully executed it, taking over the ship.

For the first time, Beres was a captain, and for nearly ten years Kaarash stayed by his father's side.

Later, when it turned out Isabela was alive, Beres joined his crew to hers and went back under her captaincy. But by this point, Kaarash was a young adult and hotblooded, feeling the energy of the revolutions happening around him.

Around this time he separated from them, drifting from place to place, helping refugees and freeing slaves. Around this time, he met Riesel, a young elven woman with an impressive family legacy, and decided to travel together in search of like-minded people.

Eventually, they found it in the Shadow Dragons.

While Beres doesn't necessarily agree with his son's revolutionary actions (he thinks it'll get Kaarash killed), he reluctantly supports his son nonetheless. After all, Kaarash has proven time and time again to be a tactical leader, and as time passed on, cool-headed under pressure.

What if Kaarash doesn't become Rook/doesn't romance anyone?:

He's still fighting with the Shadow Dragons. Maybe he'll romance Hal or something, that guy's fried fish does seem like it's worth being a little gay for.

OCs he knows: Riesel, Lana. Technically he knows Ghil, but like. Distantly. They don't talk, really, but they get along well enough.

Riesel (she/they/doesn't care)

Riesel's actually the oldest in terms of how long she's been in my brain for! I made her back in 2018, when I played Dragon Age Origins for the first time. She was baby then. Now, like many of us who did the math and realized our Wardens' children are grown adults in Veilguard, she's a fully fleshed out OC.

She's also probably the only one I'm not going to do a playthrough for, because....well, maybe. Idk. We'll see.

Romance: If she absolutely had to romance someone from the party, it would be Davrin, I think. He's got his shit mostly....together.....and Emmrich's too old for her tastes.

Otherwise she'd romance, idk, the Viper or something. Or Tarquin AND the Viper, which would drive her father to an early Calling.

Birthplace: Amaranthine City. For those of you who played Dragon Age: Awakening, you know where this is going. Probably.

Backstory:

*cracks knuckles excitedly*

Riesel was born to two loving, wonderful elven parents doing their best in an arling that hates elves. Like most of Ferelden. And the rest of Thedas, unless you're Bioware and suddenly pretend that the racism from your last three games doesn't exist.

And then, her parents died in the assault on Amaranthine city.

She was left wandering the rubble, crying loudly and dragging along a stuffed nug, until some tall man in shiny armor came and picked her up and tried to help her locate her family.

And he did, but they were in less than stellar condition, so he said "I guess you're mine now" and swept her away.

His husband, the ex-Crow, was exasperated but too smitten with his new spouse to tell his darling Warden "no".

(but really, Zevran did actually want to take care of her as much as Lithe Surana did.)

And so the pair raised their little girl lovingly. Riesel grew up fluent in Orlesian and Antivan, learned to throw knives, and sneak around so that her fathers didn't know what she was getting into.

(They did, but only interrupted when it was actually dangerous.)

Over time she learned a few rules.

1. Never be a Crow, Marry a Crow, or Hire a Crow. Fuck them Crows.

2. No joining the Grey Wardens. There are no griffons, and it'll make your uncle Alistair really sad.

These truths were ingrained in Riesel, and eventually she grew up to be a relatively responsible and level-headed adult. Who wanted to be a Grey Warden, but wasn't allowed to, so she settled for the next best thing.

The Friends of Red Jenny. This is who she was with before she met her best friend Kaarash-Taar.

Together, they traveled together to try and help people while her dads were away trying to cure the Blight, and eventually the pair joined the Shadow Dragons together, remaining a bombastic dynamic duo.

What happens if she doesn't become Rook/doesn't romance anyone?:

Romance is dead, or will be shortly, if Zevran has anything to say about his precious baby's relationships. Also Riesel doesn't care. Regardless, she's off saving people with the Shadow Dragons and doing things that will definitely send her parents to an early grave.
