OKAY so basically ddlc is this psychological horror that takes on the initial form of a high school dating game. You meet four different girls. Sayori, aloof, cooky (Your first friend, neighbour), Natsuki, sweet, cutesy (A really stand-offish girl), Yuri, deep, brooding (Bookworm who is introverted and depressed), and Monika, brains, beauty (A seemingly normal girl, smart, the club leader of the literature club).

You, as the only male in the club, write poems by choosing words when prompted. This will guide you towards the dating path of one of the girls, resulting in different dialogue, scenes, and prompts. There's also a school fair coming up that the group is preparing for. You notice that Sayori is getting awfully distant with you, and soon you find that she's depressed, in love with you. You have the choice to either turn the confession down (when she does eventually tell you) or accept it.

Either way she hangs herself. The game glitches out and restarts, from the very beginning, this time, Sayori seemingly having been deleted. You notice that Yuri is acting more obsessive towards you, and Natsuki less angry. The latter confides in you that Yuri is acting weird to you, but the game glitches and "Natsuki" tell you not to worry about it. Yuri then stabs herself three days before the school fair.

When Natsuki and Monika discover Yuri's body, Natsuki goes to throw up and Monika seems eerily calm abt it. Shocker she actually is altering the game code to force herself to be the only option for you to pick. She's aware she is a game, but loves you regardless. The only way to beat the game is to delete her file from the game coding. Then the game will restart without Monika.

Absolutely fascinating to be in the middle intersection of knowing that Thing is really popular, and that because Thing is popular there's a fair bit of vocal backlash to thing (because people are very mad Thing is popular when they don't like it) and you find yourself running through the unpleasant takes (not bad, just not what you're here for) from people who don't like Thing like snow white running through the scary fucked up forest until you finally find the fucking cottage where people who like Thing talk about Thing. Then you pass out in the cottage and when you wake up a bunch of small and opinionated creatures still carrying their burdens from the content mine arguing about Thing and also now your presence in relation to Thing bc you were clearly fleeing from the bad takes forest. This metaphor isn't what I wanted it to be but you get the idea

His attendance of the ball was one that took much deliberation.

On the one hand, the joy of nights like these rarely touched him, and to say he would ever wish to attend one pure of heart would be far too kind to one such as himself.

It’s a back and forth of ideas, motivations, determinations to be had, but at last, he decides. He would attend the Ethereal Ball.

A part of him wonders what would’ve occurred if he had stayed, but the ball is not in Garreg Mach—rather it is an open roof affair, with puppeteers watching, not too unlike the dollhouse deed with Kurthnaga. He looks up at the five watching, getting the innate sense that somehow, he was bound to the last of Air, Water, Lightning, Fire, and Earth. His gaze narrows in their direction, before embracing the dance floor as another battlefield where he could not be restrained.

Valter will mostly be wandering about, not really dwelling in one spot for too long—if he does stay still for a while, it’d likely be to bother someone in particular, or it’d be in a spot far from prying eyes. I won’t say he’s open to interaction, but if someone approached him (and he doesn’t already have an unfavorable opinion of them), he’s not gonna be a huge problem. Probably.

Outfit

Certainly the most extravagant of the three. While normally I lean towards green for his outfits (especially in picrews), I had the sense to give him his purple back for this—he’s an intimidating lad after all! Also, I have a billion ideas about this rolling through my head, so here’s the finer details that are harder to make out/are obscured:

Much of the outfit has wyvern motifs. The pattern on his shirt is of a wyvern mid-flight, with little wavy designs around it to make it look cooler :sparkles:. The pins(? idk what to call them) on his jacket are also designed to look like wyverns, where the claws hold the chains in place.

The red marks on the jacket are meant to imitate claw marks, with a set over his left shoulder and another set on his right cutting into the lower torso. The shoulders of the dress shirt also have similar marks, albeit not as colorful. The back of the dress shirt has a pupil-less eye on it, just for the heck of it.

The jacket is also purposefully over-sized. I initially had the thought to make it properly sized so he could wear it if he wanted to, but that’d look sort of strange with the next detail + over-sized jackets make neat capes y’know?

He’s wearing metal bracers on his forearms. It definitely does not protect his vitals, but it does help if he gets into a fight where his arms would risk being damaged. It’s not likely (<--- false), but it’s always best to be prepared.

Yeah he’s got knives in his shoes. They sit underneath the sole such that he can easily pull them out, but they aren’t too obvious to on-lookers. Shout-out to Oro for giving me the idea months ago! Valter is a boot wearer and that’s how it came out.

Those are about all the details present that aren’t super visible/aren’t shown at all, so yeah! Smth smth rich people smh

^^^ THIS SCENE RIGHT HERE. It rlly shows Red Son’s development from a hot-tempered villain who’s #1 motives were just getting attention from his parents/beating up the good guys to. Understanding he messed up, not lashing out, and instead warning and even attempting to protect the people he finds the most annoying…as soon as he regains consciousness after that hit he immediately looks. Pathetic. Bc he’s so worried ab Mei,,,it makes me throw up and cry and breakdown thinking ab it

Then. Ough. This scene. Kills me. The direct parallels between Mei+MK and Macaque+Wukong. The way they were literally at each others throats 5 seconds ago, Wukong threatening to kill him, but he looks back at him with the softest. Apology. Regret. Something that shows they clearly fucking love each other and they’re both thinking ab the day they split. They’re friends they love each other so much but just. Remembering that love they have the friendship they had. Ugh. I hate them

Not as emotional as the other two but. This whole episode is my favorite episode ever. I rlly like Pigsy and Tang I call them Dads for a reason which is bc THEYRE DADS !!! FR !!! But this specific scene I can quote word for word. MK’s super blunt, which is an underrated part of his character bc ITS SO SILLY !!! Anyways Pigsy tells him to shut up right after. Idk I rlly like it when Pigsy is actually shown super worried ab what’s going on w the others…He yells at MK and teases him, but he never pushes it too far if MK is hurt. And right here, although his gimmick is like telling Tang to shut up and yelling at him, he’s rlly worried ab making Tang upset like that. I don’t think he was rlly worried ab Tang voting against him, just Tang hating him in the first place.
