@archonsabyss AHHHHH i received your ask and i saw it during work but i wanted to give a proper breakdown of it!!! i'm also doing it here that way i can like, respond to specific paragraphs easier and so it's easier to follow ;laskdjf;asldj

everyone, this is about to be an in depth break down of "As You Wish," a knight!Price x fem!princess!Reader one shot i made for a challenge, so if you haven't read it there's tons of spoilers so beware! anyone interested in a big breakdown of this story, feel free to read but it's a mess because i cannot keep a coherent thought.

anyways.... let's begin

First off, I'm so so so glad someone liked that line about the stars!!! Because like, when I wrote it i was thinking about how we humans will look at this vast expanse of stars and are like "i gotta name these bitches" or we'll force ourselves to group up stars to name them rather than just name them one by one (probably because we would quite literally run out of names....) and i'm just AHH so happy :3

As for Price calling reader princess that was lowkey fan service within itself al;skdfj Like??? Him just saying that in that fucking husky ass voice of his like??? But you are, of course, the princess so what else is he going to call you???

And YES the chin tilt i just mmmm i'm a whore for that, sorry. Slut alert, but the slut is ME.

THANK GOD i was super worried about writing Price because I've only written like half a drabble for him previously a;lskdjf

If I am being honest, I held back on the violence a LOT. Like, I wanted to go into depth about Eilra's death, about everyone being slaughtered, how Price was covered in the gore of it, how the bodies radiated heat you could see the steam from.... you get the point. HOWEVER the whole line of "look at me" and Price trying to protect the princess from seeing the gore? From seeing her friend slaughtered? 100% way better than the angst. I mean it still is angst but you get me.

AND YES "feed you by my own hand, if I must." Like him just being so violently caring? If that makes sense? You're literally the whole reason he even was traveling to Draewen, and he's not going to just let you die because you can't force down food ):

Whenever I wrote that Price smiled, just know I was imagining him smiling like this:

you know like that tired smile??? Tell the man to sleep and he's like, well I guess I don't have a choice and he's just smiling like AGHSD:KJF

Also, I'm SO GLAD THE PACING WAS OKAY. i was like who is gonna read a near 9k word fucking fic in one sitting the pacing has to be GOOD and i was so worried I was going to loose people with it getting boring but AHHH

and YES the constellations!!! I have such an in depth idea about the gods and their meanings and their interactions with this world that i just... obviously couldn't put in because i might as well write a whole ass story at that point lmfao.

also just know everything that price does that is charming is all me, bb ;) (negative rizz) ((totally didn't spend like 2 hours straight of thinking per line of dialogue....)

LMFAO i just imagine you as a genie now lmfao. but lowkey when I write i think about it like a movie. like the way the camera angle is, how the lighting is, the expressions, etc. So i try and catch those small details as best as i can ): like her noticing he's not married (no necklace) him comparing her to the goddess of beauty (not the same thing as comparing her to Aphrodite she's not gonna receive wrath or anything lmfao) and just UGH i love these idiots.

Once again, I wanted to make the action more intense here but I was like, chill, it's a one shot, it'll be fine.

AND YES MY FAVORITE PART OF THE WHOLE SERIES: PRICE RIPPING YOUR CLOTHES OFF TO SAVE YOUR LIFE.

Because this is what you do irl. You fall into a freezing stream, you need to get those clothes off FAST. Especially back in the day. If you ever get caught in a river or something IRL, wearing synthetic clothing (think, like, nylon or something idk) compared to cotton is LIFE SAVING. cotton will hold that cold water and it FUCKING HURTS. wearing something synthetic? dries in an instant (i am speaking from experience i.... don't wanna talk about it LOL)

so he rips the clothes off, tries to dry her, RISKS the fire and smoke of attracting more people just to save her life? Uses his own body heat to try and warm her? rubbing to create friction? refusing to gawk at her naked body? showing her respect the moment he's sure she won't die? I COULD GO ON FOREVER.

YES UGH AND I HAVE HEADCANNONS (or would it just be cannon at this point since... i'm the writer... hmmm) about their love and the way it's literally connected with chaos i have SO SO SO MANY IDEAS THAT BLOOMED AND ugh perhaps one day i will turn this into a full series. it's been rotting my brain all day at work ):

I am a SLUT for the trope of like, someone of higher power asks someone their subordinate to do something, and they're like "is that an order?" "it's a request" LIKE she obviously holds the power. she's a princess. he might be protecting her, but he answers to her!!! and she's being soft and is like, allowing him to make his own decision, to not force her feelings on him (but he def feels them too so). And even in the beginning, refusing to call him by his title, using his name like any other person would, trying to show equality between them and just UGH. if she thought he would do it, she'd tell him not to call her by her title too (but he could never!!!!)

AS FOR THE CRAWLING BIT: 1: yes it was a little fanservice hehe like come ON imagine him like that one fucking tiktok edit of barry sloane in 6 crawling on the floor to his wife or whatever i'm A:LKJSFDL:KFJ

but also, like, he's on his knees already, man is not standing up to walk half a foot and then lay down aa;sdkfj;alksjfd but let a girl dream.

YOU ARE LITERALLY SO ADORABLE I'M KISSING YOU ON YOUR WHOLE FACE RN

i'm just AHHHH not the most confident writer ever and I know i complain about that a lot in my authors notes and whatnot but honestly just having someone shaking me by the shoulders and telling me my work wasn't straight garbage just SLKFJSLKJ

You don't have to answer this, it's not really a question but more of a message for you and I chose here because I didn't want to feel constrained by twitter's character limits.

Your socmed au's that you post on twitter are some of my favourite things ever. You're a master at the art form, conveying so much information and a full, rich story through what is essentially an artificially limiting medium (compared to 3rd pov fic for example). I'm always amazed at how you find ways to enrich the story with all the various chats and posts and so many little carefully chosen details. Also, your characters are just so spot on, sometimes I wonder if you're actually Changbin or Seungmin or maybe one of the manager hyungs or noonas.

I want to promise you that I am never actively waiting for an update, sitting around drumming my fingers, wondering why distantbluesky hasn't posted recently. That has literally never happened. Rather, every time you post an update it is like a delightful and unexpected surprise that absolutely makes my day. A little package of joy specially made for me, a gift that you have given me freely out of your love for the kids and this community.

It is not hard for me to keep up, even when there are sometimes days between posts. It's easy for me to skim the last tweet and then I'm immediately back in the story, ready and excited for the new update.

I feel like you give me so much with all of your stories and esp these socmed ones, which I can only imagine how much time it takes to make all these screenshots with the right timestamps and all the photoshopping and and and... I wish I could give you in return the peace of mind that there is no pressure to post on any kind of schedule and we will all be here, happy and excited, whenever life gives you the time to be able to post. (I also hope you'll mute any users that request updates or pressure you to post - I've seen that in some of the comments but I think it's really only one or two people and I wish I could mute them for you, I think they are very young and don't understand that what they're saying isn't a compliment).

this both is extremely reassuring and just such an extremely kind thing to say. I am genuinely so glad to hear that you're able to jump right back into the story despite delays, that it isn't hard to follow, that my posting schedule hasn't detracted from the story. that was something I was extremely worried about, and I am genuinely incredibly reassured to hear that that's not the case for you. obviously since I'm the one writing it, it's really easy for me to remember everything that happened and follow the narrative journeys, but I worried that this wouldn't be the case for everyone reading it, so this is genuinely a huge relief. I'm so glad.

I also thank you for pointing out the extensive amount of work this takes!!! I've gotten the hang of it, but truly the ratio of "time it takes to write a social media au post" versus "time it takes to read a social media au post" is devastating alkajsdf;laskdjf;lasdjkl it's just.... it is a labor of love for sure and I've gotten the hang of it and am having a great time, but it is a lot of work. and you noticing the specific details I put into it really means a lot. deciding on timestamps, thinking about photo choice, making subtle callbacks and running jokes does take a lot of thought and consideration, as does, of course, the main challenge of a social media au: how to tell a compelling emotional narrative while getting no direct line of sight into the character's heads and also not being able to show SO much on screen. it's a really challenging thing, and I'm genuinely very proud at how I've tackled it!!

writing these aus has been such a good thing for me- I have never harbored any illusions that my prose fics are that impressive (I promise this isn't fishing- just awareness of my own limits as a writer) because there are a lot of things about prose stories that are tough for me based on some of my limits as a writer. social media aus are a great medium for me, though, because they remove the things I find extremely tough about prose fics (DESCRIPTION mainly a;ldjfalksd) and what's left is the stuff I feel pretty confident in- dialogue, humor, emotional beats, that kind of thing. I think I've found a good niche. I want to return to prose fics at some point and definitely have plans to, but aus like this really work well for me and bring me a lot of joy to create.

but seriously, thank you. as you said I don't really get a ton of comments telling me to update, so I can ignore them pretty easily, but I do tend to feel guilty when I don't post on a regular schedule (even though the reasons for it have been because of work OT and dealing with a very challenging personal situation and are completely understandable- though obviously even if the reason was 'eh not feeling it' that would be valid too!!) and worry about people losing interest. I'd keep the story going until the end even if no one was reading it, don't get me wrong, but it is really nice that so many of you have stuck around and are as invested in this story as me :')

okay this is SO long but you seriously made my day with this, truly. thank you so much for messaging me this, it means the world. I'm very excited to spend the rest of the weekend writing, because getting lost in this story is so lovely, and I'm just so glad that you're having as good of a time as me :') I truly appreciate this more than I can say, you are so lovely, thank you so much.

@fumikomiyasaki Thanks for the question and talking to me a bunch through IM! I’m excited to finally get to this question you sent like last month alskdfj. Since it’s khocweek I’ll add Sid onto the list and also do the main heartsmith trio’s opinions.

Readmore because I’m long winded af:

Sid:

For Taiyo: I can see them getting off to a rough start because of how socially awkward Taiyo is and how socially forward / aggressive Sid is. However, if she mentioned looking for a cure for her condition, Sid would do a 180 (but be tsundere about it) and try to help her out. Truthfully he can’t stand seeing people in trouble / hurting so he’d do his best to try a few things at the vert least. I could see them eventually becoming friends, maybe not on a super deep level but they could have eachother’s backs.

For Kuma: Protect friends first squad TM. He could at least see where Kuma’s more serious nature comes from and would like, find equal ground on them always looking after their friends first. Also if Kuma was up for it I could see them sparing since they’re both strong, but Sid isn’t used to using a keyblade so there would be a lot of losses on his part before he started to even put a scratch on Kuma. Also sid DEFINITELY wants to examine that keyblade transformation and learn how it works. Mechanic brain goes bbrrrr

For Tsuki: Sid would....find her annoying. At least at first. It takes him awhile to warm up to people with more bubbly personalities. He’d probably be wary of her most out of the trio - but then learn that she’s just extremely dense lmao. He’d be interested in her keyblade transformation like with Kumo and want to know how it works. He’d probably ask a bunch of technical questions she doesn’t know the answer too lol.

Atlas:

For Taiyo: Atlas was / is good with kids so he probably knew the trio when they were young in Daybreak town, if only through passing. He doesn’t like that such young kids could be apart of unions but since they were he did his best to always make sure to check up on them. Post KH3 timeline though, he would be so emotional meeting Taiyo again. Even if she doesn’t remember him - he’s just glad some people from daybreak town are popping up and survived the war. Learning about her sleep problem though, Atlas would do his best to help look for a solution in all the spell books left by Wynter - he’d also offer his services of fixing keyblades free of charge for her.

For Kuma: Again, he didn’t like that kids were apart of the unions but did his best to check up on the younger ones personally. Meeting him post KH3 and him actually remembering daybreak town and stuff about keyblades, well, Atlas might be an emotional mess. I can see Kuma remembering about the heartsmiths too since they were a normal part of taking care of keyblades in daybreak town, so he could remember atlas and man i think this would be the first time someone would recognize him so yeah, emotions all around. Atlas would offer his services free of charge and keep an eye and ear out for his friends.

For Tsuki: Since Tsuki was in the Leopardos union it’s possible he met her first, considering his best friend Quest is apart of that union. Again, he probably check up on her personally (maybe with Quest in tow sometimes). Post KH3 he’d do his best to help her as she lost the most memories out of the group. again, emotional on Atlas’ part but he’d keep it together to not seem weird infront of a girl who he had ‘just met’. He’d explain his services and offer them to her and hopefully try to reawaken some of her memories. In the end, he’s mostly sad that she doesn’t remember Quest - as he was someone who cared about her from the sidelines too.

He’d be friends with all of them of course, he’s very easy to get along with and a very caring / empathic person. Post kh3 especially he’d try to be close with them because of all they’ve had to go through since the time of the war.

Kei:

All: Kei is amazing with kids, but i’m not sure if she would have approached them aside from maybe giving them flowers to make flower crowns with or something. She was in a different union and definitely one of the ones who got blindsided by union loyalty and all that. though she was more of a medic in the war than a fighter, she died there and wouldn’t be revived in the ‘canon’ timeline, so she wouldn’t meet them post kh3.

Quest:

Tsuki: Quest is....not great with kids. Still, he’s known as a mom friend for a reason. He’s very worried about the younger members of the Leopardos union so he’d check on Tsuki from time to time from a distance - it was only when Atlas was with him that he would approach closer. Tsuki probably would think he’s just someone who nags her alot and reminds her of her parents laskdjf but quest has good intentions at least. Sadly, he also dies in the war with Kei so he wouldn’t meet her most KH3

Taiyo and Kuma:Again, Quest isn’t good with kids and unless he was with Atlas m he wouldn’t approach kids especially those who weren’t in a union / not apart of his union. So they probably had the same impression that he was a very naggy person, but likely didn’t have a close relationship with him before the war started.

Do you have any thoughts on the boys singing techniques and styles ?

LASKDJF I am not a professional by ANY means, but I’ve also sung my entire life with years of vocal training. I have a FEW things I could say and that’s about it. I think their styles are all very unique and that some of them are changing techniques in order to make their voices stand out more, and it’s working on different levels.

Liam I think has the best technique of them all, he’s very consistent and has the best control over his voice. He knows what’s comfortable in his range, where he needs more support, and he has pretty good breath control (from what I remember). I think people forget a lot of the time that he’s really the glue that holds the band songs together. He has great control and so live he really does help a LOT with keeping everyone on the same page, and I find Niall sometimes matches to him. However, I will say his voice isn’t the most unique, you can find voices like his in a lot of the pop/edm world which is why I think his songs are huge! fuckin good for him!

Niall is a bit harder to pin down for me tbh but I think he has pretty down good technique, he just applies it way more in a pop way. He’s grown a lot since the beginning, I think he’s gained more power. I think his best vocals are when he’s singing live and when he’s not trying too hard and is just being free. when I heard him live I was so happy with the control and freedom he had over his voice (having both at the same time is important and I think he has it) especially when he sang fool’s gold. he really is talented and I think he’s still embracing growing as an artist.

Harry is interesting because, honestly, it’s such a back and forth with him on technique, in my opinion. He actually has pretty good technique sometimes, but then he does something like straining his voice, not opening his mouth when he sings certain notes when he NEEDS TO, or like that weird thing with his jaw which really really doesn’t help him. But other times when he’s either completely into the song or he’s singing softly he has amazing control and is such an amazing performer. I absolutely love his voice it’s so smooth, and then it’s so fuckin great when he does more upbeat rock. I think he’s shown a ton of growth, too, and he has a great range. He’s really worked on controlling his upper range lately which I’m really happy about because I love to hear him. The energy in his voice is so fun and I’m really happy he’s worked on that a lot more especially since he’s embracing more rock music that requires him to be energetic not only with his voice but on stage. The fact that he’s out there fuckin jumping around being his dumbass self and still sounding great it *chefs kiss* But yeah whichever vocal coach is letting him do that weird sideways jaw thing I will find and I will FIRE THEM even tho I don’t have the actual power to lkajsdf

Louis’ voice is so fucking unique in every way, seriously. His tone is so special to him and his accent comes through more than any of the other boys who tend to kind of lose it tbh. He’s grown the most out of any of them as I think for years they really repressed his voice and kept him from learning how to control it. So yeah, he has a few pitch problems that mostly comes from breath control, but he’s shown HUGE strides since he’s started making solo material and in that last year of touring when he had to take up more parts in songs. He has such a LEAD voice, so whenever you listen to live 1D music (or even their recorded stuff), listen and you’ll see Louis is leading the chorus because his voice is that powerful. If you actually listen to his recent live performances you can see how his voice is so powerful that he tries to hold it back and also that his accent does some really interesting things with some of the words. It’s kind of like the note is trying to go past his accent alsdkjf in a good way. it gives him a unique performance that a lot of people can’t give. While I said Liam was the glue that holds 1D together vocally, I think Louis is the CORE, the center. Without him you wouldn’t have the same sound at all.

More chapter 76 thoughts

I don’t think Trash Dad *really* stabbed Bisha…I think that was just an imagine spot, Yato imagining the worst case scenario.

Adachitoka’s pulled this stunt before - Daikoku *this* close to being beheaded, Yukine being cut in half...really the only major character Adachitoka killed off was Ebisu, but that was his entire arc.

I’m not sure where Adachitoka is leading us, tbh. There’s still the whole Blessed/Burial vessel thing, and Kazuma’s already stung Bisha, who knows how the rest of his arc is going to turn out. I still think what may happen is that Kazu will try to face Father and that Mizuchi will stab him, shattering his name - whether or not that happens as Yato’s stray has yet to be seen. Remember, Yato himself is the one who said Kazuma is no match for Mizuchi, since he sees himself as being inferior to her. Then again, he also knows that Kazuma probably wouldn’t care about his past life, just that he’s useful enough to protect Bisha. So I think Yato, out of desperation, may be pushed into naming him.

We’ve see normal shinki turn into phantoms, but what would happen to a hafuri? I think this is where the whole Blessed/Burial thing comes in. We’ve seen Mizuchi/Nora transform into that crazy monster thing when she attacked Yukine, so I’m assuming this is what happens when a shinki survives liberation. If Kazuma, a hafuri vessel, were liberated - that is to say, all those negative emotions surrounding his karma and his death and his inability to protect bisha - if his name were to crack, right after he’s stung his master, I can only imagine the type of crazy powered up phantom he’d turn into. Something devastating and powerful and nuclear. Something that could still ostensibly be controlled by one of Father’s masks.

But why was Kazuma all bloody? Here’s what I think.

I think Kazuma may have killed Fujisaki.

Why else would Adachitoka throw in this panel except to establish that (1) Trash Dad is like Hiyori in that he hops out of his body into spirit form and (2) when he’s active, especially when he’s using Mizuchi, his body is unguarded except for a few wolves, somewhere on earth.

This is why I think Kazuma may have killed Fujisaki. Not Trash Dad, the malevolent whatever-the-hell-he-is human that possessed him. No, I think Kazuma somehow found Fujisaki’s body while Trash Dad was out in spirit form, and straight up murdered him.

“People do terrible things when they have someone to protect.” That’s a huge foreshadow that Adachitoka dropped in the middle of the last arc, and I think Kazuma finally went off the deep end.

I can just picture it: Fujisaki, after having been possessed for so long, finally blinks awake, only to be brutally murdered by Kazuma. In Kazu’s desperate fury and grief-stricken mind, he’s the reason why Kazuma stung Bisha, he’s the impetus behind the murder of the Ha clan, and so Kazu would have no qualms about snuffing the life of a frightened teenager begging him not to die. This is a way Adachitoka can “kill off” a character without really killing them off - it wouldn’t matter if Trash Dad was drawn as Fujisaki or as his original form, he’d still exist as a major antagonist, while at the same time upping the stakes and advancing the story. I’m probably wrong, but it’s something I can totally see happening.

In any case, I think Bisha’s still alive :) It’s just *such* a huge coincidence that at that very moment, Yato has a flash of intuition, and his dad just so happens to be stabbing her. This is either Yato’s imagine spot of The Worst Case Scenario, or Bishamon will be spared by plot armor, the very fact that she’s a main character who probably won’t be so easy to kill.

If this were animated, I can see this being a fake-out. Like, bam, here’s a scene of Bisha getting stabbed, except it didn’t happen yet and Yato/Kazu gets there *just in time*. The panel of her seeming to gasp, her mouth flecked with blood, could either be what happens after she’s stabbed, or just her lying in the bed, the “real” Bishamon instead of the one who got stabbed in Yato’s imagination. The only thing I can’t explain is the panel of Kugaha right before Fujisaki is leering over Bishamon. Eh, I’m probably wishful thinking, she’s probably really stabbed lol

And if Bishamon is for real dead, omg. What would happen to a hafuri, a blessed vessel whose only existence is to protect its master, when he sees the whole reason for his being, the woman his loves and the goddess he swore to always protect, stabbed and reincarnated, because he was out in the mountains or whatever instead of staying by her side?laskdjf;alskdfj;dlkjd he’s gonna lose his shit. Hi burial vessel.

Hey there! I was wondering if you could do a personal headcanon on which personality type you think suits each Mystic Messenger character?

Laskdjf I’ll do my best here, but bear with me as I try to peel myself away from my ship biases to make this :) I also have a feeling you meant V and Saeran as well, and if that’s the case, I can add them on later but they’re a bit more complicated to me and I’d probably talk for way too long on Saeran in particular so. Have the original five for now.

For Yoosung

Someone who has their feet on the ground and can kindly but firmly redirect his focus when needed (like from LOLOL to homework/school/etc)

Compassion is a must along with patience. This poor bean has some sort of depression and doesn’t get the support he needs, so his partner will need to be able to provide some of that (and maybe help him begin some sort of therapy?)

Flexibility in their relationship (in general); someone who’s not afraid to lead and take care of him, but also able to sit back and let him take care of them.

Taking him seriously is important, but also being able to tease him gently at times (maybe not to the extent Seven goes)

Ability to help him explore who he is as Yoosung Kim, no longer Yoosung Kim The Cousin of Rika. He can hold on to what she taught him but he is his own person.

Zen

Must be able to keep a tight rein on their jealousy; in public, specifically, but also not let it get out of control in private, either. Let it occasionally heat up things in the bedroom, not in arguments.

Able to carry themselves well when in the spotlight, but also fine with stepping into the shadows so as not to draw too much attention (since him being in a relationship is likely going to impact his career harshly).

Please make this man take breaks, please, for the love of god, force him to just sit down and REST at times.

Also keep food in the house. More than beer and random protein bars or the occasional salad. Just have the desire to take care of this man when he’s slacking on the parts he tends to overlook.

Be supportive of his dreams and a cheerleader, even if it’s just in little ways here and there. A note in his lunch telling him he’s got this would probably be enough to make his entire day.

Encourage him to rebuild past relationships but don’t push him; urge him gently to let go of the parts of Jumin that remind him of his brother and open up to getting to know him. Be a caring shoulder about his family, help him should he try to reach out and be ready to be there regardless of the outcome.

Understand that underneath the narcissistic outer self lies a person fairly ripe with insecurity; yes, he’s fully aware he’s got a beautiful face but is he more than that? He’s just not sure. Help him discover that he’s also a wonderful person.

Jaehee

Someone to help her come out of her shell and discover herself, that she is more than just work and Zen’s musicals.

Since she’s very rooted in logic and reality, a dreamer would be good. Not too dreamy but enough to show her sometimes things don’t always have to be serious and it’s okay to imagine things or get lost in something that isn’t reality.

Must like musicals enough to go to Zen’s with her and fangirl about his performance/the songs/the show as a whole. Although it wouldn’t hurt to show her others to branch out, too.

Encourage her to follow her own dream! Help her achieve that dream! Remind her that she is perfectly capable of opening that cafe, of running it, of being a successful owner/manager. Her knowledge and love of coffee runs deep but so does her anxiety.

Show her the lighter side of life, that it’s okay to let loose and have fun at times. Take her dancing, out on the town, something she normally wouldn’t do.

Jumin

Definitely need to be able to accept gifts gracefully and understand that it’s one of his ways to show his affection. Some people don’t like it, but it’s showing his love is on his mind at most times.

Need to be able to stand up for themself, because Jumin’s used to being in charge and that’s all good and fine, but sometimes he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Being able to firmly stand ground on what they think is right is important.

But at the same time, don’t be the type to fight over everything. Given an explanation (probably logically, or at least explained well enough emotionally) Jumin will probably understand and at least agree to disagree. Basically don’t be a doormat but also don’t go seeking a fight.

Avoid drama. It was shown in his route that he finds it petty, annoying and at times, simply stupidly amusing. Being with him means being in the public’s eye, so not only does that mean his partner needs to take Jumin’s dislike of drama into account but also the fact that anything they’re involved in that could cast a whiff of drama/scandal is going to be pounced on by paparazzi.

Someone who understands how to behave in public - or willing to learn. Again, being in a relationship with a future CEO of a successful company lends to a fair amount of press and spotlight - especially when they’re used to the scandals of Jumin’s father.

Patience, patience, patience. The man spent so many years avoiding untangling those deep emotions running through him that they won’t just unravel overnight. He’s going to struggle and need to be reminded that it’s worth it - especially since not all of those emotions are likely going to be positive. Patience and support. Lots of TLC.

Also as a bonus, maybe a “translator” to help him understand more about people who weren’t born in the upper class like him. ;)

Someone incredibly affectionate! This bean needs lots of love and reassurance, especially after everything goes down with his brother. Someone who will hug him and dance with him, let him squeeze their cheeks and twirl them around… (kidding) (sort of)

It’s not necessary but a cat lover would be a bonus, for obvious reasons.

Definitely needs to be able to push past when he goes tsundere. Look at that wall and know exactly how to climb it or break it down and get him to smile again.

An appreciation of puns, memes, and silly jokes is a must, maybe even the ability to throw them back at him. A silly side is important.

The ability to firmly but gently redirect him when he’s starting to take things too far, or to get him to be serious when the situation calls and he’s trying to avoid it.

Someone who will allow (even encourage) him to take the necessary journeys to discover who Saeyoung is. Not Luciel, not 707, but Saeyoung Choi. He obviously has a vague sense but that needs to be expanded on and it’s far too easy to fall into the “I-am-Saeyoung-Choi-brother-of-Saeran-Choi” and not go any further. He needs to be pushed toward self-discovery.

Same love I'm still into never from broduce but prefer hands on me. Idk what to think about woojin's raps. Sometimes they fit into the song, sometimes the instrumental or lyrics makes it seems like it was haphazardly written to give the dancer oriented members something to vocalize. Energetic remains the only w1 song i can listen to without getting bored. No matter how much I'm into yoon jisung, jaehwan, or minhyun I can't seem to listen to their eps without my mind wandering elsewhere (1/).

If youre looking for a good tropical I would suggest Hollands Im afraid. He isnt the best singer but the songs arrangement and production is stellar. I know it's from last year but kards Hola Hola, even if i prefer ohnana, is also a stand out. Whats funny is that your criticisms of tropical house is exactly what I have been hearing other people say about oh my, how it's low energy and not engaging, esp for svt. It definitely took me a couple of listens to appreciate its place on the mini. omg jisung was my 1-pick from ep 1 i was so happy to see him make the final lineup laksdjf broduce was actually one of the reasons i got into svt. i got tired of poor vocals and i remembered that svt has boo? who is pretty darn good at singing? so i went to listen to him after listening to the mansae performances and ladjkf somehow i ended up where i am today. but hmm really? actually someone i know said something similar ahaha. i wouldnt know about rap flow or lyrics or anything, but he remains the only person in w1 that id consider a rapper. the rest of the ‘rappers’ are baritones and are rappers for the sole reason that they are baritones. not everyone could have pulled off ‘d i double f e r e n t’ ksjdfl like idk. i personally enjoy his execution of raps ahaha like in light, he raps the word ‘벅차올라’ in a way thats really reflective of the imagery of the word itself? ahh anon u flatter me!! thank you for your kind words!!! i honestly have ways to go, but it means a lot that u say this thank you

so for starters i have a mac + photoshop cs5 so a lot of this tutorial will be based on what you do for that, but i’m sure u could do the same thing on pcs (actually pcs have more programs available so i highly recommend, if u have a pc, finding a tutorial that is based around pcs) and other photoshop versions too! but i think the general process is still the same, a different tutorial might just be more nuanced^^

1. Finding/downloading your video~so for normal mp4 videos on youtube i use this website. it’s pretty useful it can download from actually a wide variety of sites like naver (up till 1080p!) ~for v app videos i use this site~ts files i find on kpopexciting or kpop24hrs (u need an account for kpop24hrs i think to download video but! signing up isnt difficult and its nothing fishy. i use it a lot esp for older ts files it has a good archive, kpopexciting tends to be faster though.)~the higher quality files you find the better! i find that it tends to go mp4~honestly finding the right high quality video is a HUGE part of making gifs look nice2. Extracting your video~there are many many many ways to extract your video but I highly recommend downloading avisynth! There are ways to download it for pc! avisynth is beautiful because it doesn’t really reduce the quality of your video to the extent that photoshop does, plus it can extract 60fps from ts files. some gifs ive made through avisynth ( x x x ) if you’re interested in avisynth further, tumblr user @/brandinator is a good place to start! if you want to know more regarding how to use it and a different tutorial through that, let me know! ~now i’m not sure if there is an avisynth tutorial for mac anymore, BUT theres another great program, vapoursynth, that mac users can look into. here’s a tutorial that i’ve found~Before I got avisynth I used VLC player for ts files but I had to basically screenshot each frame individually. Some gifs I’ve made through this method ( x x x ). these gifs are 60fps only bc i found a user who uploaded the ts file in 60fps. usually you cant get 60fps w/o avisynth. but this is also me saying that if you cant get avisynth or vapoursynth, there are still ways to work around it i think! one of my fav giffers for the longest time didnt use either!! and sharpening and coloring were always on point.~I think pcs can use kmplayer? id look into that if you have a pc~for normal mp4 videos I just use photoshops ‘import video frames to layers’ option (under file in the menubar)! you can use avisynth as well, but for me it takes forever to extract what i want in avisynth (minimum like a minute ish), whereas ps can get the part of the video i want to gif in a couple of seconds. I think it’s self explanatory but basically you find the video you want to extract, find where u want ur gif to start, and for photoshop cs5, you hit the ‘shift’ key and let the part u want giffed in the video play. when youre done u lift the shift key and hit ‘ok’ (idk if it differs for different versions of ps). i extract all!!! frames!! it makes it look smoother too :)

3. Coloring/Sharpening/Cropping/Etc~now this is the step that I can’t really give a tutorial on because honestly it varies for everyone! but i feel that this is the step that a lot of ppl need guidance with (me included) because it is the hardest step, probably because it is so ‘up in the air’ for lack of a better word? there is no one right way of doing it the possibilities are literally endless but here are some tips~Coloring: ~most important rule: don’t whitewash ur gifs!! ~other than that, the world is yours. ~honestly have fun with this part! coloring is something that i haven’t fully learned yet ~i tend to play around mainly with the curves, selective color, hue/saturation, and color balance layers ~you can also download psds other ppl have made (i dont do this myself) and use those! ~also i feel that a lot of the times, the right coloring can make ur gif seem higher quality. coloring can also play a role in reducing gif size if u do it correctly. ~honestly this part is just a lot of experimentation, over the course of a gifset and over the course of time in general. some people find their coloring style easily, but i was not one of those people. ive spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to adjust what layers to get the colors that i want and i think only as of this era ive been able to execute the coloring i had pictured in my mind. so patience is a virtue!!! ~Sharpening: ~ah yes my biggest enemy: sharpening ~first things first, i sharpen my gifs using smart sharpen + topaz ~settings for my smart sharpen are 500%; 0.4 ~check the box that says ‘more accurate’ and i personally remove ‘gaussian blur’ ~some people also use topaz denoise, and/or topaz clean ~ honestly topaz is a lifesaver for me bc it smoothes out a lot of grain that can be introduced via coloring! also!!! it can reduce gif size by a lot!!!!!!!!!!! ~on topaz denoise i hit the ‘light’ setting on the side and adjust the settings accordingly ~idk how to use topaz clean even though I have it, because it refuses to work ~to apply topaz you have to hit ‘flatten frames into layers’ ~some gifs i’ve made with just topaz and no avisynth ( x x x x) ~there are ways to make it look nice without topaz but i’ve forgotten how after i got it ~id duplicate the frame then use smart sharpen and ‘gaussian blur’ under ‘blur’ ~then adjust the opacity levels in some way. ~my settings for the opacity levels aren’t good so i’ll refrain from sharing ~some gifs ive made through this method ( x x ) ~last but not least i’ll bring up avisynth again. avisynth is nice at preserving video quality ~a lot of ppl i know say they don’t even sharpen gifs out of avisynth ~here are some gifs i have made with avisynth + topaz ( x x x x x x x ) ~honestly when it comes to sharpening, im still floundering with it. my sharpening needs a lot of work but, amongst the people who i consider good sharpners, most of them use avisynth, topaz denoise and/or clean, and smart sharpen! so all the resources are here !

~Cropping: ~it’s super important to follow tumblr dimensions otherwise gifs come out looking grainy! even when they’re not ! (case in point: x in which i used 168 instead of 178 for the dimensions)~Timing: ~Timing is so important!!! I almost forgot!! Always make sure u dont have duplicate frames for starters! for 60fps source videos i use .03, for mp4s i typically use .04 but sometimes the frame rate is kinda funky so you may have to go slower accordingly! and the important thing about timing is that if u use smart object, when u save ur gif, it’ll be in a different timing? like .04 gets changed to .07 but in order to fix that, u can simply just save ur gif in the wrong timing, and then reopen the gif in ps, simply change the timing to what u want on all ur frames, and then save it again!! idk if that made any sense but laskdjf this was the biggest mystery for me for so long omg4. Saving the gif~personally the save settings I use are “Selective/Adaptive” ; “Diffusive”; Dither: 100%; 256 colors. sometimes this makes the gif super grainy so i use “pattern” instead of “diffusive” in those instances5. Pray Perseverance ~a lot of the time when you’re giffing, gifs won’t come out the way you want it (i’m sure for every gifset i’ve uploaded on tumblr, there’s a gifset that i started making and never finished because it looked really bad). idk sometimes it feels like photoshop has its own will, sharpenings wont always work the same way each time, video quality won’t be the way you want it, i’m honestly still very experimental right now I don’t have ps figured out at all. so yeah…sometimes all u can do is that when u hit that save for web button (that ruins everything alskf), pray that ps doesnt mess it up too bad ahahaha but also that even when it does, its okay and you can try again! or try something new!

Things are going well - thanks for asking! Movement refers to the individual muscles and bones used in the process of dancing whereas the final product is the look at the end; is my arm the same height as the person next to me, does the group formation look proportional, etc. I wouldn't say Hoshi or Vernon are the best dancers but they have great control over their bodies (the movement) and seungkwan probably picked up on that attention to detail to a certain degree. svt because their choreo allowed me to engage with the music different than how I usually do with that with other groups. I'm multifandom af but svt holds a special place in my brain, hence all the mentioned groups lol. I guess I've been into kpop for a while but that interest has been in waves. In my younger days I was really into keeping up with groups but now I check them out whenever someone, usually a dancer, or music catches my attention. (2/)It's a matter of random sampling; after a while companies are bound to attract a kid with experience in something beyond typical idol expectations. It's like singing: habits die hard especially those learned when young. I'm not sure of they kept up with the (3/)It's like singing in that aspect: old habits die hard. Fei and Victoria for example rarely moved their torso because in traditional Chinese dance the expression and artistry comes from the arms and legs but in a hip hop dominated field constricting those muscles makes them seem stiff and uncordinated. Same goes for anyone who learned ballet. Another example of this is Yuju from gfriend. While her arms are fine, she has a stiff lower body probably due to having learned figure skating (4/)Where the ankles knees and pelvis has to be stiff for the jumps. But when compared to the other girls in gfriend, something looks off about her dancing even when the overall picture looks right. Fun fact: stephanie danced for the LA ballet a few years back. Her approach to dancing is creative and strong even for a former idol. considering that both jyp and lsm actively performed throughout the 90s, I'm not suprised the companies are big on injury pervention. That's not always the case (6/)Because quite a few of their idols have been injured on the job. Yuri only recently got surgery for her ankle even though it's been an issue for a couple of years now. Choreo for TT had to be modified to accommodate jihyo's knee towards the last legs of promotions. Mark's spine is in terrible condition from all the jumps he had to do for girlsx3. Jype and sme stress technique more than other companies do but that is a low bar. No one knows what ** is doing. Either name is fine love (7)

ooh thank you for the clarification between the two! and yeah svt in general has engaged me musically in many ways that no other group really has done i always wondered if musicians felt somewhat similar about them. ahaha i used to be wayyy more multifandom back in the day but over the years its really significantly dwindled and alskdjf im the same! like when i was younger id look for new debuts and everything and make sure i checked out their debut song to see if i wanted to get into that group or not but now its way different there are so many groups first of all that debut, and as life happens i kinda got more busy so that also shifted how i approached kpop in general. also i think getting into svt for me personally was a big turning point in my kpop life too ahaha like i said before, theyve engaged me musically in ways no other group has done, but also in many other ways. i dont think ive ever been this mentally invested in a group in my life, like not even for my ult group(s) so that just naturally also takes more time up in life. its so interesting what a trained eye can catch!!! laksjdf ngl yuju was probably one of my more favorite dancers in gfriend (maybe im being biased since shes...well...my bias) i dont think i ever noticed something off about her? like in the overall picture! do you have examples? but i can see how her lower body was stiffer. i know nothing about dance and different companies, but is the LA ballet a prestigious place to be? i had no idea that she was a former kpop idol oh my. def props to her for keeping up with the demands of a dancer while still being a kpop idol though. at least when it comes to the voice, many vocalists can get ‘weaker’ (for lack of a better word) after debut, they tend to abandon technique in favor of i guess pleasing the ear or going with a certain image for the group/songs theyre approaching. is there something similar with dancers? seeing how many of them aren’t necessarily trained in hip hop styled dances? you did mention yuju and fei/victoria though i suppose it is similar. :O why did i never know about yuris ankle? :( oh my I DIDNT KNOW JIHYO got injured towards the end of TT promotions? but thats good the company adjusted the dance to accommodate for her knee but i looked it up and it seems that they just made her/twice stand in places where they/she usually sat? i feel like thats a common pattern ive seen in choreo changes for groups when a member injures something (like daniel during energetic promtions). did jihyo injure while dancing though or? omg did mark really? is there a way to prevent all this though like didnt hao also injure himself because of what he had to do for the dwc choreo (or were those just rumors bc he still does that flip)? its always just so confusing to me how, when theres all these things out there if you just take two seconds out of your life and research (which is what id assume any good ceo would do) like why is the pop world so against it. like its not just kpop, just popular music in general seems to be driven by not tending to spend much time on just knowing the proper ways to do things. its not a big huge secret that people are keeping to themselves like information is there and esp in this world of the internet, its even to an extent free? and its so sad bc we see things like jyp swearing on the ‘half breath half sound’ method because thats what he learned in the states(?) or whatever like? ??? but i guess, it also makes sense bc in a sense i suppose being popular has a lifespan? maybe people arent as heavily invested in things that could make their artists run for a longer time, because that might not be something they want? like god the 7 year curse for kidols is too real. like if ur just gonna devote only 7 years of ur life, which is obviously a significant portion of one’s life just not the companies voice, then why would they care if you can survive past that? or smth idk what im saying at this point ahaha. but at least sm and jyp are doing /something/ i guess? and i wonder why jyp is like that for dance but not vocals hmm, even if it is a low bar.
