Watching Wilbur appear in the Yellow Yaks call during Ace Race is so funny to see from different perspectives. I mean one one hand you’ve got Scott and Owen, who muted right before Wilbur even showed up and didn’t know he was there until Scott saw a message in chat and was like “Oh, Wilbur’s here. Okay.” Then by the time he’s back in call and can actually hear Wilbur he doesn’t even acknowledge the obvious stream crashing, just kinda goes “Oh hey Wilbur.” and carries on with his day.

Then there’s Gem, who’s been casually talking to Grian about the course, and when Wilbur appears she’s like “H-Hello? Hello???” and when he says “It’s Ace Race time” she just “O-Oh….?” like this is the most baffling thing to have happened today but she’s mostly chill with it. She doesn’t talk much during his monologuing and it’s like she’s STILL PROCESSING what’s happening until the very end of the race.

And then Grian - the man can’t figure out WHO it is at first, asking “Scott…???” and getting QUITE confused. And then Wilbur mentions Ace Race and “I heard it’s Ace Race time” and it’s like INSTANT recognition and Grian just “Oh! Wilbur?” like of course it’s Wilbur, who else would it be? And he sounds almost scared at first, NO idea how to handle what’s happening, until he kinda catches on and starts just going with it and just shrugs like “Eh, not my usual kind of shenanigans but I’m down for it”. He starts up banter, laughs at the chaos, and says “Why have we not played in MCC together sooner???” There’s promises of a potential future Wilbur and Grian MCC team-up and he doesn’t even bat an eye about what just happened when all is said and done.

And finally there’s Shubble, whose stream Wilbur crashed in the first place. Shubble’s just chanting like “Ace Race! Ace Race! ACE RACE!” and then we hear the door get kicked in and she screams and there’s SILENCE and then a voice goes “What was that sound?” and Shubble’s like “It’s…Ace Race?” and Wilbur s l o w l y descends into frame, ominous and dramatic as ever, and basically shoved Shubble’s rolling chair away amidst her laughter so he can take over. And NOBODY ELSE HAS HEARD THIS HAPPEN because she’s been muted the whole damn time. So when Wilbur makes his grand entrance NOBODY sees it coming and it’s probably the best thing that happened at MCC Pride this time around.
