to the 10 non-israeli hostages still in hamas captivity (listed from top left to bottom right):
bipin joshi, 23, nepal. an agronomy student, bipin arrived at israel to study citrus cultivation, only 3 weeks before 7/10. he was staying at kibbutz alumim when the attack started. at first, when the rockets started, bipin sheltered in a bunker with 16 other nepalese foreigners. thinking this was a "regular" attack, and will pass soon, they've even taken a group selfie, which one of them had uploaded to facebook with the caption "bunker time". bipin can be seen in this photo.

fear settled in when the sound of gunfire was getting closer. terrorists briefly entered the bunker at first, shooting at the men. two were instantly killed - one who was filming with his phone, and one who shouted "we're nepalese!" the terrorists have then started throwing grenades into the bunker. the men have crowded against the wall - except for bipin, who jumped at the grenades to throw them away. he was successful with the first grenade; but the second one exploded before he could get to it, and left several of the men injured and unconscious. the terrorists have moved on from the bunker, and later the men heard distant shouts of israeli officers, who arrived at the active scene of the attack, instructing them to come to a nearby kitchen for better shelter. while a few of the men immediately went there, bipin and a few of his friends tried to first aid those who were injured by the grenade. it was during this time that he quickly texted his cousin, in english: “If something happens to me you have to take care of my family. Be strong and always see the future.” it was then that two terrorists broke into the bunker. one, pointing a gun at the men left inside, instructed them to come outside with him. the other filmed them with his phone - with the footage being the last time bipin was seen. bipin's phone was later located in the gaza strip.
2. sudthisak rinthalak, 43, thailand. a farm worker, he was working the orchards of kibbutz be'eri on the morning of the attack. he was murdered on the spot, and his body kidnapped into the gaza strip. his death was confirmed to his family on may 16, 2024, following an investigation of the available evidence. may he rest in peace.
3. watchara sriaoun, 32, thailand. a farm worker, he was kidnapped from kibbutz nir oz, where he was working. watchara arrived in israel back in 2020 with his brother, in order to cover their family debt and pay their father's medical bills. apart from his mother and brother, waiting for him back home is also watchara's 9 year old daugher, irada, whose mother died in august 2024.
4. sathian suwannakham, 35, thailand. a farm worker from kibbutz nir oz, he arrived at israel in 2020. sathian was seriously injured during his kidnapping. his mother found out about it via a video on facebook; she, alongside sathian's father and sister, are still waiting in thailand for any word on him.
5. pongsak tanna, 36, thailand. a farm worker, he would often livestream while working, talking to his father wilas, or his 14 year old daughter. on the morning of 7/10, pongsak video called his father. during the 10 minute call, he described the chaos of rockets and gunfire, shouting at people around him to hide from the terrorists. eventually the signal was cut. pongsak was kidnapped into the gaza strip. during the weeks after 7/10, wilas spent days riding his bike around his home province, alongside the thailand-cambodia border, looking for anyone with a relative in israel who could help him search for pongsak. he had spent thousands of bahts (hundreds of dollars) repeatedly submitting legal documents to the government, in hope for any news on his son. “if my son is alive, whenever israel can get the hostages released, I want (him) to come home quickly to (his) hometown," silas said in an interview back in october 2024. “most importantly, i want my son to be ordained (as a buddhist monk) for his mom who died when he was away."
6. bannawat seathao, 27, thailand. a farm worker, he was shot in the leg before being kidnapped.
7. nattapong pinta, 35, thailand. nicknamed "nick", nattapong, a farm worker, came to work in israel a year and a half before 7/10, leaving his wife and young son, in order to pay off a debt and help his wife fulfill her dream of opening a coffee shop. he worked the avocado groves in nir oz. during the occasional rocket attacks, nick would call his older sister, reassuring her. "i’m just saving up a little more money, then i’ll be coming back.” on the morning of 7/10, nick called him wife, narissara. there was shooting, he said, and he was running away. that was the last she heard from him. "i felt like my heart was being squeezed when i learned that he hadn't been freed yet," narissara said. "i will definitely go to the airport [when he returns]. nothing will stop me."
8. suntaya akrasi, 20, thailand. a farm worker, suntaya was murdered on 7/10 while working near kibbutz be'eri, then his body was kidnapped into the gaza strip. his death was confirmed on may 16th, 2024. may he rest in peace.
9. joshua loitu mollel, 21, tanzania. an agronomy student, he arrived at israel 3 weeks before 7/10, planning to stay for 11 months. both joshua and his roomate, clemence felix mtenga (22), a fellow student from tanzania, were murdered in nir oz. at first, the pair had managed to text a fellow tanzanian intern in the kibbutz, ezekiel kitiku, telling him that they were running for shelter. but after a few hours, the texts have stopped. joshua's violent kidnapping was filmed and posted online, showing the terrorists stabbing and shooting him several times. joshua's body was kidnapped into the strip; clemence's body was identified a month later. joshua's death was confirmed in december 2023. joshua was the oldest of 5 children, and his stay in israel was his first time traveling outside of tanzania. joshua's father told of joshua's younger siblings that they "ask me every morning and night: ‘Dad, we want to talk to our brother.'" may joshua and clemence rest in peace.
10. surasak lamnau, 30, thailand. a farm worker at first, surasak's mother, kanmee, had no idea what happened to her son. in the chaos following the events of 7/10, his colleagues in israel told her that they did not see him. but after she posted about him online, she was told that he was one of 5 people - an israeli employer and his 4 thai employees - who were kidnapped. his fate is currently unknown.
none of these 10 hostages are expected to be released during the first phase of the ceasefire deal between israel and hamas.
of the 82 foreign nationals who were killed during the 7/10 events, 46 were thai, 10 were nepalese (all agronomy students who were murdered in kibbutz alumim), 5 chinese (3 were murdered in sderot); 4 were from the philippines (3 were working as nurses in the gaza envelope, one was killed in the nova festival massacre); two nurses from sri lanka (both murdered in kibbutz be'eri); two were from tanzania; 2 were from the uk; 2 were from the usa; and the others were from germany, moldova, canada, cambodia, eritrea, india, mexico, ukraine, and geogria. 32 foreign nationals were kidnapped. most of them thai. 647 foreign nationals were injured.
#ישראבלר#jumblr#just spent a few hours collecting information and translating it#foreign victims of 7/10 draw little attention in israel and nearly non at all abroad#and the information isn't consistent. the number of dead ranges between 68-82 in the info i could find#it's infuriating#especially considering how some of the worst and most graphic footage filmed during 7/10 involved foreign workers#and their families... imagine your loved one going abroad to help you pay off a debt or just provide a living#and they get involved in a brutal war they had nothing to do with#and you're half a world away and can do nothing to help them. your government doesn't care. you don't know if they're even alive or dead#i wonder how many of the people who are gonna read this post have had no idea about any of these hostages

i love shadowgast, i think their journey together learning how to be better people & healing is beautiful.
but nothing annoys me more than when Caleb gets all the credit for Essek's redemption arc, or when Essek's relationship with Caleb is automatically placed on a pedestal above his friendship with the rest of the Mighty Nein.
because it is straight up untrue. it wasn't even Caleb that did most of the legwork reaching out to Essek, it was Jester. Yes, their magic lessons, and Caleb's understanding went a long way towards showing Essek that he could change, but Jester was the one who consistently and repeatedly reached out to him. I am of the firm belief that without Jester, the Mighty Nein would never have gotten past Essek's initial standoffishness.
And furthermore, Caleb was Essek's friend first. I don't think it's ever been confirmed, but IMO most of Essek's initial attraction to Caleb was 1) academic 2) performative, and any genuine physical or romantic attraction didn't start developing until post-reveal. I'm not even convinced Essek was romantically interested in Caleb, or at least able to identify it as such, by the END of the campaign. Essek values Caleb primarily as a friend and any romance on top of that is a bonus.
Essek's relationship with Caleb is not inherently more important than his friendship with the rest of the Mighty Nein just because they're dating. He loves all of them, and expresses that multiple times at the end of CR2. It was their friendship that changed him, not his interest in Caleb. Caleb values the Mighty Nein's friendship more than whatever budding romance he had with Essek. Essek's entire life doesn't, nor should it revolve around Caleb! Caleb is an important part, yes, but he values and needs the love he receives from the rest of the Mighty Nein just as much.
As someone who's aro/ace-spectrum and has little to no interest in romance, every time I see Essek's relationship to the Mighty Nein reduced to his relationship with Caleb, it feels like a slap in the face. It validates my deepest fear that I'm just an accessory in my friends' lives, and that no matter how much I love them or what I do for them, I'm inevitably going to be discarded when someone they want to date comes along.
People will watch 500+ hours of a show that emphasizes over and over the importance of friendship and platonic love then turn around and reduce it to romance alone.
#critical role#do i want to tag this?#no#i fucking hate it here#this is a consistent problem in fandom and life in general#but it's particularly egregious with essek & m9#because ALL of m9 say MULTIPLE TIMES#OVER THE COURSE OF THE WHOLE GAME#THAT IT WAS M9'S FRIENDSHIP#THAT SAVED THEM#it's infuriating#i dont think most people understand#how exhausting and devastating it is#after a lifetime of being told that i will never be valued the way “normal” people are#to have a piece of media actually validate my existence and worth as a person#then have the fandom consistently and repeatedly undercut it

Okay so I'm supposed to be studying for finals but I can't stop thinking about the way Tsukishima's backstory is interpreted by the fandom so naturally I need to rant about it. I'm not even the biggest Tsukishima fan out there, but I swear this claim that he was "overreacting" in a situation where his feelings were completely justified frustrates me to no end. And the thing is... it wasn't even about the lie itself. It was about why Akiteru felt the need to lie to Kei in the first place. (For the sake of this post, I'll be referring to the Tsukishima brothers by their given names.)
"So lame" was the first thing Kei said after spotting Akiteru in the stands (and, subsequently, when it dawned on him that his brother has been lying to him this entire time), but as Yamaguchi acknowledges, it wasn't Akiteru or the lie itself Kei saw as "lame" — it was the notion of allowing yourself to get so invested in something. Kei saw how passionate Akiteru was about volleyball and how much he poured his heart and his soul into it, and yet that passion wasn't enough to land him a spot on the team's starting lineup, let alone to be its ace. In Kei's mind, what's the point of fully immersing yourself in something if it's only going to lead to disappointment later on?
From Kei's perspective, Akiteru investing himself in volleyball only led to disappointment. To feeling the need to lie to his younger brother — the boy who idolised him so much — to not extend that disappointment to him.
The fandom's refusal to take Kei's backstory seriously due to their insistence that he was "being dramatic" when "his backstory isn't traumatising" makes me seethe. We as a society have grown so accustomed to characters having these incredibly tragic backstories (especially in the shōnen genre), but the notion of a backstory isn't inherently tragic — they're supposed to contextualise a character's actions; providing insight into why they are the way they are presently, into what exactly has shaped their motivations and beliefs.
Yes, backstories can be tragic, but that's not always going to be the case — however, that doesn't make them any less valid or important to the character's journey. Just because Kei's backstory isn't Kageyama's or Tendō's doesn't mean that it didn't deeply affect him or that it shouldn't be taken seriously (by both the narrative itself and the audience). His mindset and attitude were still heavily influenced by his past, and you can't gush about how well-written his arc is without acknowledging the role his backstory played in it.
#this isn't even everything i have to say about this but i had to get it off my chest anyway#i do not trust people who don't take tsukishima's backstory seriously#the fact that there are people out there who will gush about how “peak” his arc is while calling him “dramatic” in the same breath...#it's infuriating#this fandom is a prison#n e ways i'm closing tumblr now because i need to study#aisha rambles#aisha's meta#aisha reads hq!!#tsukishima kei#kei tsukishima#tsukishima akiteru#akiteru tsukishima#yamaguchi tadashi#tadashi yamaguchi#haikyuu!!#haikyuu#hq!!#hq#haikyuu meta#hq meta

Yniol reminds me a bit of a sad puppy. So if MC also has sad puppy energy, then Morien would just be surrounded by sad puppy-ness in the Morien/Yniol poly

The Lilo and Stitch Live Action Remake
IT WAS GOOD. Do I wish Gantu was in there, yes absolutely love him. But Stitch is adorable and of course best part, the girl who does Lilo is awesome, David is cute and funny (even if pretty much a non character now), Tutu the new character David's grandmother s aswesome and Nani was great and seeing that struggle. It bothers me a lot though because a lot of people are lying about the ending. Whether because they just want to hate on it or because they're repeating inaccurate and out of context stuff they read online. NO NANI DID NOT GIVE UP LILO AT THE END OF THE MOVIE TO GO TO COLLEGE. LILO IS NOT TAKEN BY THE STATE. Whoa boy if she did that really would have been trash. Lilo will be taken care of by the neighbor Tutua (David's grandmother) who is already essentially considered part of the trusted family. They already help look out after Lilo when Nani's at work sometimes. And Nani didn't just simply choose to leave Lilo to leave. Whatever one thinks of the change in interest she got to still do her own dreams AND still care for Lilo which is the very DIsney of it all. I've seen takes going well that cheapens the sacrifice and so on and it's just....how is that fair that if there is the opportunity to do your own dreams and still keep your sister that you can't do both? Nani can literally come back anytime thansk to the teleportation gun. The only real genuine criticism is why go to California when instead she could go to Hawaii and like yeah absolutely that part was a stretch or mistake. That was some nonsense, But ignoring the teleportation, even if she stayed in Hawaii to go to school, she would have still been seperated and not be able to visit her as often (which is fair and realistic). People would still rage about her "abandoning" Lilo even though everyone and Lilo wanted her to go for herself.
But instead she gets to have both being able to follow her passions .Another criticism why not stick with surfing is still fair, but it probably was plot device as something that fits that would have her have to be seperated from Lilo by distance but that she puts off because she didn't want to leave her sister because she loves her but is still a sacrifice. Though I've also seen some very snide stuff that this is oh modern woke girl power way to support capitalism because everyone knows marine biologists are rolling in that money. What I wish was elaborated but there was some unspoken implications though for the "Why not surfing?" in that she was avoiding it entirely after their parents died. That would have also been an interesting plot potential but both from her own sadness and depression but also needing to be strong and take care of Lilo, she finds other jobs to do that and doesn't think of the most obvious one (surf instructor) until Stitch arrives and things change.
I'm also surprised by how many people were surprised Jumba was the villain in the movie as if he wasn't the villain for most of the original first movie too or that at least as of the first one was you know: A MAD GENIUS SCIENTIST WHO CREATED 626 BIOLOGICAL WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION, EVIl, AND/OR CHAOS. That is his background. HE created the experiements for that purpose! He was fully expecting Sitch to do some crazy evil stuff and a lot of it is petty chaos and mischief but still! He also blew up their house and yeah due to suddenly switching sides becasue Stitch asked yadayada (though the best take I've seen on that is he didn't, Jumba always sided with what he wanted which was Stitch then) he helps them rebuild it again later, Jumba was not a good guy in the first movie. Jumba being made a comedic fail (cartoon) villain that is genuinely pretty funny and then later good guy doesn't negate that he created an army of bioweapons to cause chaos and destruction. Movie Jamba was actually still really funny too. And Pleakly of course! They actually do a really good job in the movie.

I think Morgoth, along with having a very fluid physical form that can change into a horrible goopy tar monster at will, has a very fluid height.
And by that I mean if you're just hanging out/not fighting, he will clock the tallest person in the room and change his own height to be juuuuuuuuust taller than them. Just a little bit. To make them mad.
#Tides of War#TOW Lore#Morgoth#Melkor#Because if someone is used to being the tallest person in the room and this 12 foot tall dude crouches through the doorway#You can't fight that. You just give up#But if you're used to being the tallest person in the room and in walks Melkor who is just slightly taller than them#An inch or two#Enough to be noticeable but not TOO tall#It's infuriating#Because you know it's on purpose

Okay, this article came across in my feed, and it's fucking disgusting.
Like, this article literally called them defending Danny Masterson a fucking "rough patch," and gushed how it brought them closer together! Like, oh, how cute. *Gags* But really, how fucking gross.
I don't get why the mainstream media is letting them get away with this. Especially Ashton Kutcher, who blatantly asked for leniency. They picked defending their abborhent friend over basic moral decency, and that's fucking disgusting. And they should not be forgiven, or have their awful deeds brushed under the rug, especially considering their half-assed apology.

I really wish we had non-spoiler stuff to talk about until Halloween. I'm getting more and more excited as the release date approaches, and yet I have to stay more and more off the internet and spend less time screaming about my excitement with people.

Honestly, this weird 369 from VCARB regarding THEIR fuck up baffled me. They gave Daniel the car he asked for back. Why backtrack on their support? This is obvious even for those who aren’t Daniel fans. This looks like the shit Ferrari used to pull. I’m very angry about today.
I mean it's not surprising that it looks like shit Ferrari used to pull because Mekies literally used to sit on the Ferrari pitwall when they were pulling shit like that ...
#it's infuriating#vcarb is like a toxic family that can't simply give you some attention and care without some backhanded bullshit with it#vicsy
