Yniol: slow burn, mutual protectiveness,

Morien: annoyances (affectionate) to lovers, strangers to lovers, recovery

Gwyar: forced proximity, confidant to lover, partners in crime

Arthur/Gwyar: power dynamics (you know who has the most power - gwyar), power throuple

Arthur/Evaine: fluff and comfort, found family, gossip (both done by the poly, and done to the poly)

She’s pretty soft around the edges socially but can hold her own in battle with very little issue! She’ll probably get some updates looks wise moving forward but I’m excited to use her more :D

Hi, dear! You're totally free to ignore this ask but If you care to bear with me for a while, I was wondering how would your TBoC characters interact with mine in @the-kingshound (specifically Arthur).

Regardless, I feel like every TKH MC would like to rip Lance to pieces for the way he treats Mordred, my Arthur would kindly roast Merlin and they would also find Accolon a very pleasant person to say the least.

The feeling would be mutual for Accolon! And I think in general he'd be very happy to befriend the cast of TKH.

My Arthur would also try to befriend yours. He'd be kinda nervous and extra polite in the beginning, but I think he'd easily relax around him and enjoy talking about ruling and other stuff.

I uh, I don't know how your Arthur would feel about Morgana 👀 but supposing they don't know the extent of her actions, they could potentially bond over how awful their respective Uther had been to them?

Morgana would try to get close to Gwyar because, well, the one who knows secrets holds the power 👀 But she might actually end up enjoying their company, given they're open to having her around.

Galahad would be nice/polite to everyone tho there is the possibility he might come off a bit aloof, since he's not very talkative and doesn't smile that much.

Galahad could benefit from having a friend like Evaine tho (obviously he has Gawain and Elaine who always have his best intentions at heart and try to help him, but it never hurts to have more people like that!), if they were willing to befriend Galahad.

Gawain just wants to befriend everyone! (including Morien, new grumpy friend to make!)

Similarly, Elaine just wants to get along with everyone. Both Elaine and Galahad would be open to training/sparring with Yniol and Evaine, since they consider this a way of bonding and learning more about the other person.

Sophie would love to sit down and talk with your Arthur, especially about ruling and what vision each of them have. Could also see her making an effort to get along with everyone else.

I think befriending your ros would be very healing for Agravain!

Nimue mostly keeps to herself, unless approached, and usually approaches people with an interest/motive in mind, but she's open to any of the ros befriending her.

Peter Pan: Morien— I find the differences very intriguing. Especially with Peter being a pillar of strength and harmony already. He would never want to let them fall down (not while he can help it). He’d always be there for them if they allowed him to be. Always.

James/Jasmine: Evaine (obviously), I can see them both being exactly what the other person needs. A shoulder to lean on. An anchor in the tumultuous sea that has been their lives. With a type of humor only the other could get (they’d understand one another completely).

Tinkerbell: Yniol. Two gentle beans? Both being protective? Sign me up. I adore the thought of them being together or Yniol carrying Tink (in her fairy form) in their pocket for safe keeping. A pairing that would always have each other’s back.

Lyra: Arthur… mainly because I find the idea hilarious. But I also think that they’d be great together. Lyra would offer a lightheartedness that I think Arthur needs.

Hunter: Gwyar, I can see Hunter being drawn to their gentle nature. The warmth that they always exude but he wouldn’t want to let his guard down too much. That’s something Gwyar would have to work at first.

Yniol reminds me a bit of a sad puppy. So if MC also has sad puppy energy, then Morien would just be surrounded by sad puppy-ness in the Morien/Yniol poly

Picturing how the ROs in the polys are like when having an argument.

Arthur & Evaine: so codependent they try to solve every conflict immediately or within a day because they would feel too awful at staying mad and away from each other

Gwyar & Arthur: Gwyar overworks for a few days to avoid Arthur until Arthur or MC coax them to have a talk and solve things

Yniol/Morien: Yniol is being a sad puppy (or, very rarely, actually seriously firm) and Morien is drinking themselves to a stupor at the tavern until Yniol comes to take them or MC takes them home

Gwyar/Morien: explosive fighting that drags on for days/weeks because Gwyar is working and seething, while Morien is being even harsher than usual and drinking too much. MC has to step up to make peace

Considering the Hound vs Camelot ask

How do the poly’s feel about the others choice?

Would they fight on it?👀

Arthur/Evaine: it would be an agonising confrontation, I could see this go either way depending on a lot of factors. In a possible scenario, Evaine would convince Arthur to choose MC as Arthur already is tearing himself apart over it. Evaine's pleas would convince him to go for MC.

In another, both Arthur and Evaine would be torn apart by grief and pain, but would let MC go if MC was the one to push both to choose Camelot.

As for their reaction to each other's choice: Evaine wouldn't be angry with Arthur for choosing Camelot over MC, but would be angry at whoever forced him to choose. Because Evaine know Arthur can't live with that choice. And of course Arthur would never hold against Evaine choosing MC over Camelot.

Arthur/Gwyar: Gwyar would very clearly want to choose MC, and upon Arthur's painful admission that they can't, that Camelot would be destroyed, Gwyar would be filled with desperation, morphing into anger. Why does it have to be them? It isn't fair!

Only if MC expressed their desperation for them to choose Camelot they would do so. And that decision would not only destroy them both, but their relationship as well. Because Gwyar couldn't bear to stay in Camelot or even look at Arthur. To be reminded of how they both sacrificed MC. Gwyar would leave, and Arthur would break.

As for their reaction if only one had made the choice: I think Arthur wouldn't hold anything against Gwyar either way. He would only be devastated to have lost Camelot. And Gwyar would, again, leave but not be angry at Arthur (instead, reassuring him that it wasn't his fault. That Gwyar just needs to be away for a bit).

Yniol/Morien: in a poly, Yniol would fold to Morien's reasoning and they would collectively end up choosing MC.

About their reactions if they learned of the choice made by the other: Yniol is not someone who lives with regrets. They accept the past and do their best to live with the consequences, so they would not feel resentment towards Morien even for a second. Morien, on the other hand, would completely lose it upon learning MC is gone for Camelot. They would not be angry at Yniol (even though is may sometimes seem that way), but they would fall in a self destructive spiral because it's not right. MC had already given too much.

Gwyar/Morien: they would choose MC most of the time, even if Gwyar would be devastated to lose Camelot. The only instance in which they would fight is if MC specifically asked them to save Camelot instead. Because in that case Gwyar would want to respect MC's wishes (Gwyar think this is after all, their choice more than anyone else to make) while Morien would call MC a self sacrificing selfish bastard and would want to save the Hound regardless. In either case, if they decided to save MC or not, Gwyar and Morien's relationship would never recover.

As for their reaction to each other's decision: both would have sacrificed Camelot, so they would not have so much to argue. But Morien would be very insistent in telling Gwyar that MC was more than worth the sacrifice while Gwyar would resent Morien a bit for their lack of care for Camelot as a whole.

For the poly route(s) that don't have the same thoughts about having children, how do they compromise?

(A lot will also depend on MC!)

Arthur/Gwyar: Arthur understands and respects Gwyar's feelings on the matter. They are going to wait and give Gwyar as much time as they need.

Arthur/Evaine: Arthur empathises with Evaine's reasoning and Evaine knows it. There are a bit of unsaid feelings on both parts about potential children involved. On one hand, Arthur knows Evaine would be a great parent, though they also know what holds Evaine back. On the other hand, Evaine feels guilty and conflicted.

Gwyar/Morien: they both agree they will take things slow and see, as time changes, if they both feel more ready to go through with it.

(Yniol would gladly be a parent together with Morien)

Do we have anyone left that is friendly in the first chapter?

I didn't edit Arthur, Yniol and Evaine's welcoming behaviour towards MC. Arthur is still extremely soft, Evaine is careful but happy to find a sparring partner, and Yniol is a mama hen.

However, I added the stats for platonic closeness with most of the characters (of you choose to spend time with them or appreciate their welcoming approach).

Gwyar and Morien are going under the most editing. Gwyar is still extremely polite and efficient, but they smile less and are a bit more guarded. Because they admire Arthur and MC's family caused a rebellion wanting to dethrone him, so... (and Gwyar is very loyal)

Morien because I realized they were not being grumpy enough, and smiling a little too much. Also they aren't that sure about MC, not hostile but I mean MC is marrying Morien's King and friend.

What if mc lets someone beat them up because they had found out the hound had killed their family members in the war. Just taking the beating until someone comes to stop it. And then taking another tongue lashing from the Ros after.

Arthur: they try to keep calm at the sight of their spouse being hurt with that amount of viciousness and, most of all, taking it without reacting. With the firmest voice he can muster, he sends the guard to take the person away.

When you lash out against him, Arthur swallows and, even if he feels a stab of shame for the attack and his inability to address the situation of mages and the tensions post war. He is clearly trying to speak calmly and coherently when he says, "you have repented enough for what happened. More than enough."

Evaine: Evaine rounds on the person who hurt you with venomous fury.

"Do you have any idea of what you've done? It's the Royal Consort you just attacked! You will rot in a cell for this, I promise you."

But as you lash out at them, Evaine stops breathing. They just. Take it. A mix of confusion, pain and horror at seeing ypu so convinced you need to be punished.

Yniol: they physically stop the person hitting you with a kind of fury that you have very rarely seen Yniol show. When you lash out, instead of a contrite, sad look, Yniol's expression remains stiff and firm.

"I will accompany you to the infirmary, my Liege."

They don't ask, as they often do. It is a statement that doesn't need your confirmation. They walk with you handling you carefully, and preventing anyone from getting near.

It's only when they leave you to Morien's care that their sight gets slowly filled with sadness and heartbreak.

Morien: there is so much anger in their voice as you lash out at them, so much so that Morien borders on cruelty as they talk back.

"I would hit you with my cane but you would probably like it, wouldn't you? Stupid idiot."

Later, they come for the person who attacked you. And since they aren't in a particularly forgiving mood, Morien will do their worst (being: threatening and verbally berating them to hell and back).

Gwyar: they startle so much they scream. Gwyar goes into full panic when they see you hurt.

So when you lash out at them, Gwyar is on the verge of tears. Confused, scared and pained tears.

"No... what- what are you saying? You're bleeding... can- can we go to Morien? Please?"

Only later will Gwyar make sense of the situation and feel so upset and useless, so frustrated and horrified. In the coming days, they are clearly on edge around you. Not knowing what to say, how to handle you.
