To me, growing up is the subtle and slow realization that crying really doesn't help other than to gain a few weirded out glances. Or more specifically, it doesn't give you the help you want/need anymore. Comfort.

It's when you realize that if you fall down, the best you can do is to just help yourself up because no crying is going to get you out of there.

It's when you start just sucking in deep breaths or curse violently when you stub your toe because wailing about it just doesn't work anymore.

It's when you frown at inconveniences like a good chunk of your food falling to the ground and all you do is sigh because what's the point of crying over spilt milk? (Quite literally in some cases even)

It's when your day is ruined and really, the best you get to do is maybe shed some tears and go to bed because no one's coming to comfort you.

It's when you feel like you can't do anything in life and you feel the pressure and you're just majorly stressed and you just want some help but all you do is lock yourself up in a corner and cry silently to yourself because no one likes to look at a grown person coming towards you and bawling over their stress like a child does over a broken crayon.

That only works for kids. We were kids. Now we're not. And i wish i could go back

Foul Legacy's just... he's full of so much love and affection for you- even when he was still human, still Childe, he could never articulate the words to say just how much he adored you. the words would tangle, come out messy and confused, not nearly enough to tell you how deeply his love ran. so instead he'd just stare at you, ocean-blue eyes soft and sparkling with a light that only showed itself around you, a smile spread across his freckled cheeks

now, as Foul Legacy, he can't speak at all, and yet he loves you even more that before, if that's even possible

he tries- he really does! but words are hard with this new, strange mouth, instead coming out as squeaks and chirps, and you've said time and time again to not force himself to talk, since it hurts him so. Foul Legacy fumes silently, furious with himself- you're so kind to him, so gentle and sweet, and he can't even say that he loves you anymore. it's during one of these self-scoldings that you're brushing his hair, making sure there's not a single tangle while humming that song you always liked

you're happy and content, entirely at peace, and Foul Legacy feels his heart fill enough to burst

suddenly his claws catch your wrist, pulling your hand closer as he opens his mouth, then gently begins to nibble your fingers. for anyone else it'd be frightening, seeing an Abyssal beast bite down on their skin, but there's no malicious intent, merely Legacy nipping you ever so carefully. he looks like he's on the verge of tears when he brings your hand to his cheek, leaning and nuzzling against your palm like you're the only thing that keeps him from breaking, small whines slipping from his mouth every now and then. in return you press your hand to his face, fingers gently massaging at his temples as he scoots close enough to curl up against you, glimpsing the small, tender smile on your face

#Diary #So here’s something I remember DEVASTING me for some #I was at the playground with my step sibling. and we were playing this game where we would swing and point out the smaller kids like ‘Thats #my kid’. Choosing babies basically and not much else. And this one girl was getting teased so we invited her over and she sat in my step #siblings’s lap while they swung. Well this girl chats like the 5 year old she was and I stumbled over my words or something and my step #sibling laughs at me hysterically. That hurt my feelings but I remember thinking that I wanted to be more thick skinned than I was when I #was the girl’s age so I just pushed it back and kept swinging. My step sibling had to #pee or something. so it was just me and this girl. I wasn’t as chatty as my sibling but when the girl slipped off the swing and couldn’t #Get back on. I asked her if she wanted me to help her get back on. and she was like ‘My mom doesn’t let me talk to strangers’#Of course this confused me. because we just met and I am also a child?#She looked. like. uncomfortable near me or something and I just felt so weird in my body #Cause like. I know I’m chubby and taller than other girls but am I really scary like an older boy?#My sibling was an average size and a little malnourished and I was already incredibly insecure about our differences #Like I was wearing knee shorts and a t shirt to swim in the lake and they were wearing a girl’s bikini lol #Then this little kid gets right back on their lap when they got back and I was like ‘😬’ trying not to cry and just walked away to sit by #myself. Now there’s a picture of my clueless father sitting next to me when I’m like ‘Oh ‘extremely high kid voice crack’ sure you can sit #next to me dad😃 Please drown Em in the lake for me because I hate them and that people like them better’ from behind.#This was a pretty regular experience for kids but I was a little off and even kids sense these things lol

#(so i could come back to it later and think of an art idea)#SORRY i need to talk about stuff because aaaaa. ill make a side blog at some point i promise #i know the obvious parallel is ch2 and ch25 when yashiro was crying #especially if you look at it from doumeki's perspective with all his guilt and fear of becoming like his father #but if you shift the perspective to aoi and yashiro then these two work as well #both of them are so resigned to their suffering at this point and don't expect any help but doumeki shows up anyway #even if it was pure chance with aoi he still “saved” her and she tells him that she's able to do what she loves now because of him #and doumeki obviously couldn't have done anything to help yashiro when he was a child. but at least he saved him from hirata #which isn't even about hirata as a person #it's about hirata as this walking manifestation of violent homophobia and a way for yashiro to go through with his suicidal ideations #also. doumeki going to jail for 4 years in aoi's case and him being “forgotten” for 4 years in yashiro's.#he didn't even get to hear yashiro's “you saved me” because he was unconcious. and with aoi he was so focused on his guilt #that he probably didn't think about it this way either. no wonder “your sister was lucky she had you” made him cry #and no wonder he's so bitter and hurt post-time skip #oh doumeki chikara you sure are one of the characters ever (affectionate AND derogatory)

There always seems to be one kid who just screams like a tornado siren, all day long, at any given opportunity. Like, kid, I love you, you are precious and deserve all the happiness in the world; but please for the love of god shut up. There are people trying to learn here and you’re not helping them or yourself.

#I don’t like being harsh with people in general but if one child is raising the tension in the room to a fever pitch every single day #making it incredibly hard for the kids who are trying really really hard to focus when they already have focus issues #and because I know this specific kid gets absolutely spoiled rotten at home and is allowed to do whatever they want #you know… sometimes it helps to show the kid how they sound to others by demonstrating the obnoxious nature of The Scream #because when the parents do Jack Shit about teaching their kid discipline and courtesy; you have to be a parent in their stead #But do NOT continue to scream. You are an adult with adequate emotional control. Screaming should be be done EXTREMELY sparingly #and only utilized for demonstration purposes or to stop a brawl; not for bullying or intimidation #Don’t do a JoJo Siwa and TRY to make kids cry even though you may get stressed enough that you want to escalate on purpose #Again: you are an adult with adequate emotional control; don’t escalate unless the overreaching plan is to deescalate #if eliciting a startle response will stop harmful behavior and “snap them out of it” for long enough for you to get through #or if they just need to let all their emotions out at once so they can lose enough of that high energy to think critically #then sure #but you have to guide them back down very carefully and calmly; it’s a precise science #Don’t be mean about it; be genuine in your feelings and don’t go overboard. Genuine ≠ mean unless you’re evil #Or if you don’t feel emotions very strongly (like I do) then react like a “normal” person. Lie about being angry or sad if it is appropriat #Again: Your goal should not be to get the kid to do what you want; the goal should be to get them to feel good enough #so they are ABLE to do it in the first place #And the goal should also be to show them how their actions affect others if they are not aware of it #“Teach a man to fish” and all that. Don’t always check them; get them to check themselves #If a kid hits another kid when they’re angry at something completely unrelated; then 1.) redirect destructive behavior #and 2.) walk them back over to the kid they hurt and say:#“Look at [name]; look how sad you made them. [name] didn’t do anything to you #It’s okay to be angry but we CANNOT hit people when we are angry because it hurts and makes them cry.” Works great #Always remember there is a power imbalance inherent in EVERY child-adult relationship and NEVER abuse it #And if you’re not patient or emotionally stable enough to work with or have children; then don’t. Please don’t.#Children are not cute little dolls to play dress-up with; nor are they perfect angels; nor are they your personal stress ball #Having children is NOT A GAME. They are PEOPLE who will grow to be your age one day and everything you do affects them #Sorry I’m just tired of all these parents who shove iPads in their kids faces so they don’t bother them. You’re giving them an addiction
