can you describe sal's shell ? when he was still a nautilus

Hmm, alright. For this one, I’m going to go ahead and describe both what his shell was like before and after I decided to update his appearance. The update is meant to be canon for his past, but I figure it’d still be good to share what his original appearance’s shell was like.However, I'm going to put the updated first and leave the original under a cut since it ‘s less relevant.

Updated: In comparison to other Nautiluses, Sal’s appearance– even including his shell –is pretty strange. His shell sort of seems to rest ‘on top’ of his head at the opening of its coil and wraps around the back somewhat similarly to a beanie. However, despite its backwards coil, the spiral shape is a little lopsided off to the side.As for his shell’s hood, it hangs at a lopsided angle over his face, acting as a natural eyepatch, covering his missing eye. Though it has a sort of leathery texture, it’s very solid and firmly attached to the primary part of his shell with only minor flexibility. While the spiral of his shell is predominantly beige, it has curving red-orange stripes going along each spiral. As for the hood, it’s mostly a sort of washed out red-orange with faint beige and pink patterns along it.The shell is firmly attached to his head and literally acts as a part of him. There seem to be small gaps between his head and where the shell is attached for his many tentacles to hang out from, but if you tried to reach inside, you’d only feel a bunch of tentacles grabbing at you or the part of the flesh between his tentacles and head that is ‘connected’ to the shell. Don’t do that.

Original: As a strange Inkling and Nautilus hybrid, his shell was a bit wonky. In fact, rather than the spiral acting as its most prominent feature, the hood of his shell was a lot more prominent.

Though the hood has a bit of a leathery texture, it was actually rather hard. The most flexibility it has is in Sal’s ability to ‘tug’ on it like a cap to cover up his face a bit.As for the spiral part of the shell, it seems to have been split into two separate coils that sat on either side of his head, wrapping and seemingly ‘connecting’ to each other under his hood.

Erwin overthrew the monarchy to save his own life and he didn’t take a second glance at the citizen’s well being. he even admitted himself that leaving the monarchy as is would have been the best idea and with his selfish choices, there’ll potentially be a day in historia’s reign that they’re going to have to sacrifice more people than they would if fritz was ruling.

there’s some other things he did that would be categorized as betrayal but they aren’t really…

i mean, erwin is still pro humanity. im pretty sure as long as those eyebrows are still on his face, he’ll keep fighting for humanity. but he’s just done some things that would be considered anti-human????

so, i am seriously considering going back to sporking. anyone who knew me in my spoker days: i kinda want to continue using "the cats", maybe with little portraits to denote who's who instead of coloured text? (since i'd be posting it here.) but then i also feel a crew of eight or nine is too unweildy, so maybe i should cut it down, but to whom? maybe just drop the msting pretenses and just do straight snark...? but i feel it's funnier if theres different personalities bouncing off each other. what do? also, i need a tag name. something clever. matthew suggested "sporking with psychos" but ehhh. also, badfic recs! stuff that hasn't been done before. if i do this, then i will start with celebrian, and by start i mean ill re-do what i already did last year. its kinda long so itll take a while, but~ hypothetically, i'll be started by janurary. but what do you guys think?
