very compelled by elsters gender both in a transmasc and transfem way bc well elster transmasc lesbian? beautiful wonderful 10/10. she is a robot whose body was made to fit the standards of what people consider a woman to look like, as is the case with most other replikas, so once she starts being treated more like a person of her own instead of just a worker robot, its fun to think of her chafing against it. on the other hand theres elster who was made to look like a woman/her neural pattern is copied from a woman, but is still treated like an object thats only there to do the job. shes referred to by others as 'it' in a dehumanizing way altho not purposely degrading bc they dont consider her a person enough to see this as cruel to her in any way. and slowly she ends up regaining her personhood and a concept of gender that feels right, as much as it can, considering the circumstances

#its complicated right. bc i dont think replikas would consider this much but also idk they are conditioned not to #elster being with ariane who disobeys the rules of what youre Not supposed to do with an elster replika clearly ends with her regaining mor #of a personal identity and willingness to like. make her own choices that arent orders #dont tell me about how this game is not about gender i know. its impossible for me to see a robot character and Not think about gender #especially in this case where theyre so clearly gendered #but still they are almost exclusively referred to as units and replikas and model names #i think falke is the one who actually gets she pronouns in reports? and most of it is by adler who is also a replika #anyway i think its very fun how all these robots are so clearly gendered but also not at the same time #which to me makes the concept of elster choosing to think of herself as a woman also very trans #she is made to look like one she is not meant to Be one #and its hard to say she would think of this bc we rarely get elster think of herself at all #theres two instances i can think of where she refers to herself #txt #signalis #yes u can use it pronouns in a normal not derogatory way but u know thats what was intended in the game

#ieytd #i expect you to die #commander solaris #the fabricator #roxana prism #headcanons #not tagging this as art bc. its not enough for me to want to. anyways #i think abt this a lot its all very interesting. they all have a lot of talent but it's all in different directions #solaris is very problem solving in a literal sense. mechanical objective -> i'll build a machine that does that thing and nothing else #fabby usually makes more covert stuff so there's a lot more things that she needs to consider. size. shape. covertness. weight. etc #in ADDITION to lethality. which she excels at.#and prism tries so hard to tackle as many improvements as possible. and while she makes incredible things the robots weren't very. uh.#effective. at being super spy robots.#every weakness that was fixed just created a new one. and she works so fast she can't really think about the issues she's making #idk it's just all so fascinating to me #i can get pretentious all i want but i'll confess that i DID make this chart bc the fucking 'solaris can figure this part out' takes me OUT #it tears me up so bad. girl. that was YOUR idea. IHwdsjssjeheueb explodes #(for context i was previously unhappy with the fact that firefly and sam is one and the same)#(because i wanted a playable robot/mecha)#but kamen rider magical girl firefly who pilots / transform into huge metal warrior sam is so fun which i love #and the fact that firefly is canonically like . an biologically manipulated or engineered human #and is very much . older than a lot of our cast #first stellaron hunter (super cool)#the way her name signifies how her life is like #chefs kiss design #winx club looking ass splash art name title . thats a compliment btw #im very much looking forward to looking at her beautiful eyes up close . and also running around as a tall metal guy with fairy wings ahaha #kamen rider moment truly....#also ppl saying its a clara svarog situation isnt getting it #clara and svarog are seperate characters just one in the gameplay #as svarog is claras robo dad/protector and just fights for her #honestly shouldve been clara & svarog like how topaz & numby are called that #but firefly is firefly. it felt like its code doesn't match well with its body, and has always refer to itself as a soul trapped in a metal bar cage.

it wants its wires to be veins, its chest plate as an actual chest, its sensors to explore more of the living's natural senses, its arms travelling and transferring blood instesad oil and motor

so what does it do?

stuff the organs it harvested into its body to feel whole

it crouches on its idol's body, scooping its remains and shoved them into its opening chest plate. lungs, hearts, guts and livers

everything it could get its cold, bloodied, deserving hands on

it felt fleeting, heavenly, the bloody pool beneath it growing as its body shuts it tight, the stolen organs kept safe in it

it felt like it's finally living.

Ok another really funny aspect of It All is that thing people do where a artist isnt explicitly Anti AI Art and then people get all "well how am I to know their art isnt AI then?? Maybe its all been AI this whole time! Whos to say! Theyre clearly untrustworthy and a AI sympathizer!". Like we've invented a brand new kind of mcarthyism and its super weird.

#I was hatereading reviewbombing reviews of late night with the devil and there were alot of people being like #'well how do I know every visual asset wasnt AI? RIGHT?!?!

I mean, yeah, the Megas also have their takes on Skullman's theme ("Cracked Skulls"; inspired by MM4) and Chill Penguin's theme ("Chill XMas"; inspired by MMX), and I guess there's also one based on Storm Eagle's theme ("Rougmer Storm"; MMX), but I haven't listened to that one yet.

Like, I get that they have a good story arc to cover the first 3 classic games, but it would be so cool if they explored some of the themes of the following games, y'know? Or flesh out the MMX or other series music! Or hell, pick and choose some Robot Masters and make a new narrative, or like literally anything, please, people are starving over here! And it's not like they aren't still active. Don't get me wrong, I love their Castlevania stuff under the Belmonts label, but it would be nice to get Mega Man content outside of just remixes/remasters of their existing songs. Plus, they're still doing concerts, so like the audience is there for it!

And as for the Protomen, I hope that they actually end up releasing Act III at some point. Having listened to The Fight, it makes me crave it to an unhealthy degree. I love the grimdark kinda take on Mega Man that focuses more on the role that humanity takes in all of the conflict. I feel like that angle gets extremely neglected in Mega Man media.

Idk, as a fan, it's just kinda frustrating how neglected mega man gets. Like, it feels like the rare times whenever we do get content, it focuses on the first three or four games (if we're lucky), and then it just dies off! Or goes dormant for a decade or more. The franchise has so much creative potential that just isn't realized and it's so sad!
