I'm trying to find a specific Leverage scene but I just can't remember in which episode it was, or anything about the plot. All I can remember is that it was a scene where Eliot noticed someone was some sort of undercover cop or agent or something and explained how he'd clocked him by pointing out the kind of shoes they were wearing and several other things (haircut maybe??). I tried googling it but came up empty. You are the first Leverage blog I found so I was hoping either you or one of your followers will remember the episode I'm trying to find?
Oooohhh good question. There are two times Eliot spots an undercover cop by their shoes (at least the 2 times I remember off the top of my head)
The first is The Morning After Job s3e13, Eliot recognizes a group of undercover cops in McRory's bar. The second is in Redemption, The Double Edged Sword Job s1e7, Eliot and Parker recognize undercover security by their shoes and watches. Then there's also The Long Way Down Job s4e1 where he recognizes Russian spetsnaz by his footprint.
As for recognizing by haircuts, there's only one time I remember that happening, The King George Job s3e12, where he recognizes the goons as ex-British Paratroopers by their hair cut.
This post is a gifset of some of the "it's a very distinctive (blank)", in order the episodes are The Homecoming Job s1e2, The Top Hat Job s2e6, The King George Job s3e12, The Long Way Down Job s4e1, The First Contact Job s5e3, The Rundown Job s5e9.
I know somewhere there's a post that has every instance of Eliot ID'ing something by its distinctive (blank) but tumblr search sucks and I can't find it.
Are any of those the scenes you're thinking of? Can anyone else think of any instances I'm missing of distinctive shoes/haricuts?

I learned that Dark Sun isn’t a part of the Bean Eclipse Au…..but that made me wonder how the others would’ve reacted when Eclipse got broken by Dark Sun?
Like the weird malfunction chip thing. (I don’t know how to explain it sorry. :[)
Well consisdering this au was WAYYY before eclipse v3/4 came by. (I know what you meant by the chip thing)
I dont know how we'd get there. But heres to thinking of the hypothetical scenerio
Solar Flare would notice first. And by notice first I mean, after Eclipse is deliberately hiding it. (He still struggles to let people know when somethings wrong.)
Confronted I do think Eclipse would let Solar Flare help find what it is. Without much luck-
Eclipse getting more sluggish and struggling to move about gets more obvious. KC having to find out that way instead of being told (Something Solar Flare told Eclipse NOT to do-), pisses him off but that's not something he wants to focus on. Just asking Eclipse what happened- And hearing about a Dark Sun? KC's furious on Eclipse messing with the portal but determined to get Moon AND Monty to check his systems.
They don't find anything at first. Considering they don't know what it is they're suppose to look for (what's out of place- But as we see in the episode it might not be what's added thats off but whats transmitting instead)
The slower and more ragged he gets, all the coughing is just distressing everyone. All except Bloodmoon. Who hasn't let up on his own bullying. Lunar even tries to ignore it but its hard to ignore that when you see him all the time. Opting to get between Bloodmoon and Eclipse more.
KC being a stressed parent with a sick kid, is trying to find this Dark Sun, is lashing out or trying not to. Almost fruitless-
Moon and Sun are on edge really, they may have mixed emotions on Eclipse however they're trying to help, Sun opting to hold Eclipse more (which makes eclipse mad but mans tired). Hell even moons proximity isn't getting Moon swiped at by Eclipse.
Bloodmoon doesn't change his behavior, still kicking when Eclipse is down. Obviously this leads to everyone getting frustrated at him. Bloodmoon backs down for now but like- clearly isnt regretting it.
Its only until KC snaps at Bloodmoon that its clear Bloodmoon backs off. Very quietly too. KC just has to sit with that for a moment. (he goes crush somethings, meditate for a while-)
Lets see here, if this is resolved and the source found- Or maybe even just stops. Eclipse is alleviated. Everyone breaths a sigh of relief.
They're still checking Eclipses' systems that they realize they overlooked something. Its only when its gone they realize what it couldve been but since its stopped they cant trace it.
Bloodmoon does come back, he doesnt apologize to Eclipse, KC however takes bloodmoon away to properly talk. It doesnt go so well-
Eclipse isn't liking the fact Bloodmoon was just acting as himself but not surprised hell not even expected much else. Lunar... lunar did expect better. He's disappointed but- hey thigns are fine now. They can handle this KC can handle this-
Solar Flare meanwhile finds Bloodmoon scratching at walls- and at himself.
KC comes back, asked how Bloodmoon is. KC doesnt respond on that. Asks Eclipse how hes feeling. And what that Dark Sun had said.
Solar Flare comes back arm torn off, asking what had happened to bloodmoon.
This is getting rather long actually hmn.
Anyway to the point, Eclipse gets chipped- handles it badly, Bloodmoon's own shenanigans lands him in hot water not just with KC but with Dark Sun. Which would get mostly everyone involved, Eclipse would get mad at Bloodmoon for even going near that guy but Dark Sun wouldve approached Bloodmoon. Which still would set off Eclipse cause thats Red Flags AND SOMEONE WASNT THINKIGN ABOUT THAT.
Uh I dont know how this ends, Dark Sun's pretty smart enough but with the Bean AU its a bit more hmn, no one has died- uh again? For him to get Moon spiraling. He would use Bloodmoon given Bloodmoons more prone to just instigating stuff. He was probably hoping for Bloodmoon to kill someone by now actually.
However KC;s convo with Bloodmoon, Eclipse in general and Solar Flare would be the ones to keep from everyone completely disowning Bloodmoon from attacking Solar Flare and general disregard to Eclipses health.

Why do I think Tommy is only using Buck as an in to the 118:
I don't think the show would bring up his jealousy over the fact that the 118 is a family multiple times if it wasn't some kind of fireshadowing
This is not a reason, but the "you know he can have more than one friend?" comment is just so damn condescending
Tommy saying "I was super jealous [...] over all of you, the 118, how it became like a family over there. I mean how you all willing to put everything on the line for one another, I wanted to be a part of that" is a pretty big sign, it kinda implies that he would have had that, had he stayed with the 118 (altough I don't think so, i think there is too much bad history between Hen, Chim and Tommy to ever achive that and him staying wouldn't have changed that fact)
After the whole cruise ship rescue, Tommy doesn't reach out to Chim or Hen to hang out again, but to Eddie. Eddie who is perhaps the most similar to him (and notice except for being in the army and liking MMA, those characteristics of Eddie has never been mentioned before) and Tommy goes out his way to make Eddie his friend (because lets be honest, you don't get front row tickets for a sold out show and fly someone over to Vegas in a helicopter if you don't have some kind of hidden agenda) and shows no real interest in Buck during the tour of the helicopter station.
And then at Buck's loft he totally changes his behaviour after Buck tells him, he's been trying to get Tommy's attention (which I still think is total bullshit btw, why were you flexing for Eddie in the station then??), and shuts him up with a kiss (and don't start me on a rant how much I hate that trope!! I don't find it cute, especially not when its obvious its only a way to shut someone up, minirant over).
Also I just want to mention, he totally inserts himself into a situation that he doesn't really know much about, he acts like he understands every little nuance in the relationship between Buck and Eddie and he does not. This episode also wrote Eddie (and everyone) ooc, because you want me to believe Eddie would give out Buck's address to someone he known for a week??? I don't think so
He's ready to leave Buck after the smallest problem during their date (Tommy knew Buck wasn't out to anyone when he asked him to one, no need to act suprised Buck is not ready to come out in the middle of the restaurant) and has no intention of starting over, right until Buck invites him to the wedding which is a new way to get closer to the 118
Then Tommy is at the bachelor party and he shows that he has no intention of being there, he acts totally bored and not even trying to make Buck happy (yes, I am talking about not dressing up in any capacity), and says he's here because he's Chimney's friend. But is he? We know that after he left the 118, where he worked like a decade or more together with Chimney, the only time they talked was when Chimney asked for his assistance (in the episode about Red, Chimney says he's not in touch with anyone from the old 118 and that was the ONLY time he talked with Tommy) which is not really something that screams we're friends
He shows up at the hospital, yes, but its also an opportunity to show the 118 how he's there. Its also a pretty interesting choice from the writers, making him to be on call
Also, neither Hen or Chimney mention how Tommy tried to reconnect with them after the rescue, which is interesting as they're the ones who actually have a relationship with him. He only wanted to be friends with Eddie and Buck, two members of the team who had no idea what kind of people Tommy was in the past. Both Eddie and Buck trust him easier and you can see how Buck is soo convinced that Chim is Tommy's friend that he invited Tommy to the bachelor party
Do I think Tommy is working with the councilwoman? No, but honestly it wouldn't be that much of a stretch. Councilwoman Ortiz probably kept tabs on Hen since the accident, and knew who was the one assisting with the helicopter and Tommy is a really weak link. Gerrard being back at the 118 does not concern him, and he can give the councilwoman private information from the 118
I only think that he wants to get into the inner circle and secure himself a position where people would choose him over Buck when they break-up. The last episode showed how Tommy doesn't understand the bonds in the 118, so I'm kinda curious how it will work out

Something I've been thinking about lately is the symbolism in byler placement- Mike's usually on the right and Will on the left (from their perspective). I've noticed this thanks to Good Omens-(it's basically proven that) Aziraphale, the angel, is always on the right and Crowley, the 'demon' (technically not a demon but moving on) on the left. And if that's ever switched, it means something's wrong. I do not by any means think that it is supposed to show Mike or Will to be good/evil in this scenario, but rather just to symbolize their dynamic and how things usually go with the two of them.
Starting with the famous 'crazy together' scene:
Then the 'looks like it's gonna be up to us again' scene:
Even later in the episode, during the 'cool-cool' scene, once again, Mike's on the right and Will on the left. (and don't even get me started on the yellow wall behind them-):
Next, Mike's 'confession' to El (which is a chapter on its own) (and also Will being the frame for the whole time, like, listen, if it's supposed to be romantic and just about the two of them (Mike and El) why would there be a 3rd person the whole time???):
Then it's the 'we will' scene in Hop's cabin:
And last but not least, the van scene. This is where it gets interesting. Because throughout basically the whole scene, we get the shots of Mike and Will from the front or sides of each one, but not in another way:
Besides from this one shot, making it special. It is also shot from Jon's perspective (again, that's a whole other thing, not the topic rn):
There are many interesting things about this shot. It is literary (as well as figuratively) a mirror. We see Mike looking directly at Will, possibly showing us the real Mike who actually sees Will. The real Mike who is listening to him and understands what he's trying to say. The real Mike, whose thoughts are not clouded by internalized homophobia and all of his ignorance of his feelings. But I might be reaching too much.
As we know, the Duffers are both good at and very fond of the art of cinematography, so there's a very small chance this whole mirror situation would be purely coincidental. Of course, you could argue it is all just one big coincidence, but considering how much 'proof' I was able to gather when I wasn't even trying that hard, I think it's safe to say there's something more to it. Whether it was intentional or not, we won't truly know until season 5 comes out, but, as metioned earlier, the connection to Good Omens (or just a similar type of symbolism) is clearly there. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

I feel like it's a little unfair for people to compare the 90's Trigun anime to Trigun Stampede. I love the 90's Trigun, I really do, but compared to Stampede it's really far removed from the manga, so expecting the same tone and plot beats for Stampede doesn't make much sense. It's like getting chicken and rice soup and expecting it to be chicken noodle.
The base is the same, but the ingredients are going to be a little different because they're two separate things. They're both working with the same chicken broth base (the manga), have the some of the same ingredients (same characters for the most part), all that's different is the carbs in it (OG Trigun is more fast and loose with following the manga and Stampede is sticking to it a bit more closely)
I can understand that people wouldn't enjoy the pacing so far, but I feel like that's just a general problem with modern and seasonal anime meshed in with poor working conditions and is something that needs to be addressed separately.
I'm not here to, like, police what you watch and how you think of it because it's, in general, not really my business. I just think you should give Stampede time to be it's own thing before comparing it to the OG, especially when the creator is pretty excited for this adaption as well.

it's nice that we're getting anything i guess, but, i'm gonna be what may come off as a little petty and whiny here; it'd be cool if either iteration of the gen 9 anime so far was actually about gen 9's characters instead of using them as cameos to promote original stories we have no investment in yet
it's like, i dunno, like the bait and switch with sonic appearing in wreck it ralph ads, except if wreck it ralph existing meant there would never be a sonic movie, and if you were invested in those characters and recognized they weren't generic platformer mascots, sucks for you, nobody cares
maybe they're just giving the DLC space to do its thing with them first (if they do anything at all...) but idk, i was cautiously optimistic about nemona in horizons, only for her to be a character of the day that the episode wasn't about, and pretty excited by "gen 9 prequel anime" only to find out it's going to be like, four short stories about OCs who have quick brushes with them. these are like the lacroix hint of what an anime about the game could've been like and you're left to imagine the rest yourself
i shouldn't be that surprised if the gen 8 anime reduced hero of galar hop to a character of the day with a level 5 wooloo in order to let the galaxy revolve around ash battling his brother because epic charizards, but man. what if it wasn't like that that now that ash is gone.
we haven't seen penny and team star at all because they're the hardest to talk about without bringing up the trauma of school bullying and the fear of being yourself at school when you're way too young to be dealing with all that drama responsibly. she's still learning to love and forgive herself and feel wanted.
arven's story is about, like, being a latchkey kid to a self-absorbed parent, being unsure how to feel about repairing the relationship or how seriously to take them saying they love him, and struggling to make friends due to misdirected resentment toward people he's jealous of for having apparently normal families and the stubborn self-reliance he was forced into. he's still trying to process things, find himself, and let people in.
nemona is supposed to have been a directionless lonely and depressed kid who hated being called gifted when everything was hard for her, until she met the player character and gained a peer who understood and appreciated she was a little different and she didn't have to mask her true self to have friends anymore. she's happy for now, but may still be under a little too much pressure to be perfect at the expense of her own personality, and probably won't deal well with being abandoned.
as much as they resonate with adults and are a little darker than usual pokemon fare, they're also smaller scale and realer. they are all stories that are explicitly about and meant to be relatable to kids going to school! y'know, your audience! you don't need to paint over them with 3-4 new characters and new stories every time like there was nothing there, or something shameful you need to sanitize and cover up! you can just use the game the way it is!
this got a little more heated than i intended, i just feel a little ridiculous waiting anxiously for loose scraps of a sign that this story isn't over and in the trash already and nemona's life-changing attachment to the player character isn't going to go totally ignored, as we are bombarded with what is supposed to be followup material that almost all seems eager to talk about literally anything else like they think the main story was a mistake they need to run away from
now, i'm not one to complain about original stories being told, but this was already a story that had room to grow. imagine a world where the gen 9 anime was actually about nemona, arven, penny, and the friend who brought them together. or what their lives were like before that friend came along. every episode. that would get me to watch the anime again and whatever movie came out for it. ask yourself why we don't have that, or even the traditional, like, 1-2 characters tagging along with the MCs per region thing that would leave us knowing them better than we know some irl friends
how was starting over with 100% original characters and new lore that might conflict hard with the upcoming DLC the safer bet? why is a 44 minute miniseries specifically for fans of the game making up OCs for them to get invested in and scrambling to tell their stories as quickly as possible before throwing them in the trash instead of being about the damn game?
sigh. i shouldn't get invested in a series that's about selling monster plushies just because it had one story that stuck with me
