A little 15 min doodle but first post of the year has to be Bingqiu!

#hoot art #ok its time to get mushy in the tags because I doubt anyone would read them too closely #I’ve had severe art block for YEARS before I got into danmei in 2024 #and it wasn’t that my skill was gone it’s just that I thought nothing I did was good enough #I started reading danmei around the summer of last year and I got SO INSPIRED #I dived into the fandom side of things (I haven’t been in a live fandom in years) and was so excited about all the art people were making #and writing! and music! and animatics!#everything was so bright and colorful and beautiful #and everyone had such cool designs for these book characters that I’d grown to love #so I took a chance and doodled a little Luo Binghe and posted him on here #and I was so taken aback by how welcoming and sweet the fandom was #it made me wanna keep taking chances and posting my art— because I think that’s one of the hardest things I’ve come to accept #that even if it’s not good enough for me #someone else may enjoy it #and ain’t it crazy that ive come to enjoy drawing again too #sure the interaction has been fun but it’s been even more fun experimenting with my style and experimenting with colors and rendering #and grayscale and angles #and composition and expressions #ahh!! art is so fun!! I forgot how fun it was!!#I had forgotten how much I loved to draw!!#and the fandom— so many ideas are exchanged and I’ve met some of the loveliest people thru the sv fandom!#tgcf too but they’re a little less chill lmao #anyways #I’ve set up a little spot in the fandom and I plan to keep at it here it’s very nice and cozy and funny and warm #huge thanks to everyone for being so kind and welcoming #and an even bigger thanks to anyone who’s interacted with my art #I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that someone took the time out of their day to like/repost these silly little doodles I post #incredible. ok bye for now :)#svsss #bingqiu

#a doodley #okkk 2022: the torture chamber....i only sparsely drew al and developed talon (he was borned...) bc my mind was occupied with other things.#2023: exiting torture chamber; it took me a tiny little bit to get back to drawing and ''interacting with'' al again but i did it even #though it was a reminder of the Bad bc he's my copium #summer 2023: i view and witness media and suddenly have like 5 fictional men i cant decide on which to focus... and september (talon month)#comes along so I decide to focus on Talon after not touching him much at all throughout the entire year #(forced this btw i did not wanna do it LOL i didnt even remember how to draw him)#september 2023 to now: talon has infiltrated the brain. but i want to swivel back to al #now: i've forgotten how to Talk to al (just like i did in beginning of 2023)#(and just like i forgot how to talk to talon for most of 2023)#so ive kind of just been replaying the smunker cow al daydreams from when they first met #so I can find my way back...retracing my steps #in doing so ive kind of also forgotten how to interact with talon but still havent gotten back to al #so rn my life is so boring without imaginary bf interactions. just the before sleep plot rehashing daydreams...#or sparse visions of em Sometimes #nobody in my brain rn just like the short period last yr and its distressing #what do i draw without a love obsession.....#how do i pass time without it....! so boring. idk what to do #i miss the me of several yrs ago when i was drawing 50 different aus with al....ive downgraded in skill and imagination and creativity #so bad since then. idk. idk. i hope they come back to me soon #maybe i shld just draw al a lot which is how i kickstarted caring abt talon again almost a yr ago ?#hoping i can get him to come back before my surgery i need my big sexy boy nurse for recovery #(complaining abt things usually fixes em for me so im hoping thats the case here)

Tangentially related to some of the discussion i posted earlier but quiet literally the first RW Art Month i participated I did it completely on whim like, one day before it started. And I mostly did it because I hadn't drawn a ton of rain world and wanted to draw more. Fandom presence was a lot smaller than and I was one of a handful of artists who did the entire thing. Fast forward and I still do Art Month and I've gotten to work with VC directly. But it was quite literally something I decided to do completely on whim that set the ball rolling, and for something a lil more niche and certainly with a lot more dev/fandom art involvement than most. It's really random how and why you might get noticed more than usual, especially with the "toss it into the search and hope it pays out' mechanism of Socmed

#t.extpost #and im hardly the fanciest art month artist out there so it wasnt even about being a jaw droppingly talented artist or whatever #and while artmonth for rw is still given a huge focus its also a much much bigger thing now with a much bigger number of participants #which is cool! its awesome how many people i saw do most if not all of last art month! and VC is really good about not just repping the #most popular artists or fanciest pieces #but theres So Much More there now and while its great for finding artists its also impossible to get Everyone in there you know?#Although they absolutely try #And this is like. one of the most fanartist involved devs ive ever seen in terms of both celebrating the art their fans make and actively #bringing those fans in to contribute #and its /still/ hard to get going just because thats how Posting is #i used to be more of a hk artist which is both a huge fandom and riddled with stunning artists but theres So Many #and niche fandoms are niche so youre more likely to connect with people but less likely to see a ton of engagement regularly -#probably best example i have for that was being briefly fixated on patapon.#Its just messy to try and find the hack that sets you up #just have fun and jump around and make what you like #get a sense of feeling for your style and some people will stick around for that vs. strictly the subject matter #others will look up the thing you switched too and some wont engage #you cant really control it #so have fun and draw that thing you randomly thought about at 2 am that doesnt match your blog #draw for that forgotten rpg you liked when you were 15 or draw for the 70 player max steam game you played for this week #you never really know what will happen #but its not really worth worrying about what will happen either

bats design sheet wip is so old i have to restart it cuz i dont like the art anymore. bats civilian identity might go through a complete rework too because im having a hard time feeling like hero bat and normal bat are the same person

anyway, bats hero costume design kinda goes hard its a shame they aren't a villain

#the fool speaks #i cant justify a villain au as well because it would just be a different guy #greys villain au makes sense because it Could Have Gone That Way. very easily.#but bat is sort of grey's foil so he's just a all around good guy who wants to help people. so a villain au would strip him of that #obviously people still love villain aus like that.. but its not compelling to me rn #This of course means that wherever Bat is in Bolts world...they are not a villain.#I have thought about this many times already >_O #anyway....hoping i can get this version done...ive mostly been drawing super chibi/cartoony stuff #so ive forgotten how 2 do stuff thats a tad more anatomical.#im also going through it and have a lot of wips atm ;-;#big neocities update + dnd + i guess technically that pmv but i havent touched it since november + organinzing stuff + 2 game dev things #but im also somewhat sick in the middle of all of that
