Summary: Dean is finally clear of the Mark of Cain, he feels he has disappointed Y/N by all the death he's caused, and possibly their relationship.

Dean’s POV
The Mark was gone. Abbadon herself was gone, and I no longer wore the red Mark of Cain on my right forearm. Y/N was a dear friend to both Sam and I; well, maybe more to me. I wasn't sure of my feelings one hundred percent yet. Feelings were a tough subject for me. She always supported, comforted, and just cared about my well being and overall health. If I'm being brutally honest, she was overdoing it, but….
Y/N and I had met just over two years ago when I was working on a case. Sammy had recently fallen into the pit, and I needed to get away from Lisa and Ben for a while. I needed to get back to what I always loved - even if it was without my brother. There was shifter activity in the area and once I finally found the bastard, it had been trying to kill Y/N. Her and her family actually; why, I don’t know. I guess I’ll never know. I never even wanted to ask because whatever that shifter did, it hurt her emotionally for six months. Shifters - those were mean sons of bitches. However, when I wore the Mark of Cain, I had done terrible things. When I had worn the Mark of Cain, I’d done terrible things, too. I regretted all of them, even if there wasn’t a way to take them all back.
Managing to find my way into my bedroom, I locked the door. I had been making it a harsh routine and had started doing it after Sammy, Y/N, and I returned to the bunker after a hunt. My leather bag and jacket landed on the floor with a thud. Y/N had called after me, and I could hear her pounding on the door. I had to remind myself my bedroom door was locked, and Y/N wasn’t getting in. Needing to distract myself, I found escape into the shower. The warmth of the water felt like a massage of hands running down my back, cascading down my face. Y/N was still trying to get in. What part of the locked bedroom - bedroom door being locked - wasn’t getting through to her?
Normal POV:
Y/N had gone to Sam after finding Dean’s bedroom door locked. Groaning as she paced around the kitchen, Sam offered her a sandwich, which she refused. “Sam, Dean clearly needs to talk about this! He can’t just act as if Mark didn’t affect him!” Y/N snapped. Sam looked over at her. 
“Y/N, you know how Dean is. Emotions aren’t his thing. Never have been, except when he’s drunk.” Sam offered her a bottle of Dean’s favorite beer, which coincidentally happened to be Y/N’s, too. Grabbing the pin from her hair, she began to pick the lock, one thing Y/N was talented at. 
Hearing their struggles, and just about as Y/N had gotten it, the door swung open and Y/N stood. Y/C/E eyes met the emerald ones of Dean Winchester. Offering the bottle, Y/N gave a small shrug. “Drink with me?”  
Y/N looked defeated as he’d opened the door. Y/N nodded as Dean nodded, accepting the beverage. Before she could give it to him, she glared at him. “Only if you tell me why the hell you’ve been ignoring me!”
This pissed Dean off. He snatched the bottle from her and used his dresser to break off the cap. “You damned well know why! Y/N, I did a ton of bad shit I regret while I had that damn thing on my arm. Yes, I needed to accept it-“ he’d started rambling but she stopped him by doing something she had never done before and she regretted it the moment she did. She slapped Dean Winchester. 
Then she kissed him. 
Kissing Dean like this was not what she’d had in mind. Dean's lips were soft against hers and it surprised her when his lips molded to hers. It was as if he’d been wanting this to happen - like this was his intent all along. A small moan slipped past her lips. Dean’s calloused fingers traced the bottom of Y/N’s shirt. Y/N’s stomach muscles contracted against his touch. 
“Y/N,” Dean whispered, pulling back, breathing heavily. Emerald eyes met Y/E/C ones, Dean’s thumb brushing against her bottom lip, which caused her to bite down on the flesh of where Dean’s fingers had just been. “Don’t ever do that again,” he scolded, as he began to lift her shirt, the fabric tossed aside once no struggle was given for its removal. Both of their breathing was heavy. Hands were slowly working on removing their clothing. Y/N allowed her hands to run up and down his chest. The muscular abs she’d always dreamed about, the ones she always fantasized over. 
“Dean,” she whispered, feeling his kisses move from her lips, to her jaw, then to her now exposed collar bone. All she could think about was how she had fantasized about this very event happening-more than once, too- as Dean brought her hand to the silky front of his boxer shorts. The hardened erection she felt there was now threatening to poke through the fabric. She could feel that he was hard and no doubt aching, and just from that one touch, Y/N knew that Dean Winchester was most definitely the man she’d dreamt about. Dean’s green eyes searched hers, begging for her to submit to him. 
“You are mine, Y/N,” Dean said, voice gruff and his green eyes full of lust and desire. “Mine,” he said again. As Y/N looked at him, she couldn’t help the desire to back away from him and sit on the edge of the bed. She readily spread her legs for him to see her, to see how aroused he’d made her, how wet she could be from him. 
Y/N slowly removed the remainder of the clothing she’d been wearing, leaving her body bare for Dean to see and enjoy as he knelt between her legs. He planted soft kisses on each thigh, alternating between her left and her right. 
“Dean,” the woman gasped, her hands moving to thread through his brown locks, tugging ever so gently. She wanted to at least try to show him how much she’d needed this - no, how much she needed him. 
“All in good time baby; just relax,” he said, trying to calm her down.  He could tell she was anxious, but she still wanted to know what was going on. She wanted him inside her. She'd always wanted Dean, she was just too shy to admit it. As Dean’s mouth reached her soaked cunt, he couldn’t help but groan against its flesh. Holy fuck, she was wetter than he’d ever thought she could be for him. As his mouth worked her, Y/N’s moans and gasps filled the room. His thick fingers soon filled her, making her moan louder for him, nearly letting her orgasm wash over her just by that simple action alone. 
“Dean, please, don’t tease me. We’ve had enough sexual tension between us…I just need you,” she begged, and the elder Winchester looked up at her. His emerald eyes shimmered as he removed his fingers from her core, intending to give her everything she wanted: Him.
He stepped back and dropped his silk boxers, the aching erection confined within freed from the constricting cloth. Aligning his heavy cock at her entrance, he slowly eased himself inside her. She gripped his arms firmly as her moans filled the room, gasping out his name in a desperate cry as he filled her, Dean bottoming out once he was fully sheathed inside her. 
“You know, you’re hot now, but you were even hotter when you had the Mark,” she told him and Dean looked at her as his eyes darkened with lust. 
“You want me to be rough, baby girl? You want me to be hard on you, sweetheart?” he asked, looking at her. He wasn’t going to be giving her the chance to get used to him. He was going to be as rough and hard as if he still bore the Mark and didn’t have a care in the world. 
Y/N cried out loudly as he pounded into her and whimpered as he brought her closer and closer to her orgasm. She squeezed his shoulders tightly, her nails digging into his skin and her back arching up into him as she gave a shattering cry. Dean wasn't far behind. At the quick pace he'd been moving, he soon filled her all the way so that once he pulled out of her sore and aching folds that she was leaking for him. 
“Dean...part of me wishes you never got rid of the Mark. You're a lot hotter like that,” Y/N whispered; she felt positively exhausted. Within seconds, she fell into a deeper sleep than usual. 
Dean wondered if getting rid of the Mark was a good idea…after all, he felt stronger at that particular moment in time. Little did he know that maybe him being a demon would be an even bigger turn on.

The Dark Side of the Moon: Explained

An in-depth blog post on my favorite album of all time was long overdue. Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon is still to this day arguably the best album ever made. I’d highly recommend listening to this album if you haven’t already, but if musical masterpieces aren’t really your thing, this is not the album for you. I constantly come across articles that explain how the album was made, but hardly any on analyzing the album’s meanings song by song. That is what I have challenged myself to do today. 
“Speak to Me”
Speak to Me is not a song you’ll hear at a music festival. There aren’t really any lyrics, as it mainly consists of random clips of conversations and various sound effects. When I took the time to really listen to the song, I started to understand its deeper meaning. In the 65 second song you hear the heartbeat sound effect used in “Eclipse”, the clock ticking heard in “Time”, the manic laughter of Peter Watts used in “Brain Damage”, the cash register in “Money”, the helicopter noise in “On the Run”, and vocalist Clare Tony’s scream in “The Great Gig in the Sky” towards the end of the song. Once the screaming stops, the song leads into “Breathe”. So what do all these noises communicate? I feel it gives a very dramatic summary of what themes and sounds the album contains. In this song particular, the theme of insanity is very prominent, as it’s quite the stressful song to listen to.
“Breathe (In the Air)”
Breathe is one of the prettier songs in this album. After the psychotic screams in the intro, it eases into a slow-paced rich guitar medley with David Gilmour’s blues-based chords and solos. Aside from the beautiful instrumentals, the lyrics are what really makes the song worth knowing. The song is full of mixed themes. The beginning tells you to relax and live life, as it’s the only life you get. Then it tells you to get a job and focus on that instead of the beauties of life. It warns you that work is a never-ending cycle. Later some of the lines expose our materialistic society convincing us we are happy when really we’re chained to a vicious cycle of consumerism. One of my favorite lyrics in the song is "All you touch and all you see Is all your life will ever be" as it really enforces one of the harsher realities of life.
“On the Run”
This is the second song in the album that uses sound effects and voice clips as it’s structure. The song gives the setting of a man running late for his flight and trying desperately to make it. There isn’t a lot I really have to say about this song, but it definitely adds to the albums exposure of how messed up adulthood is by showing how stressful it is.
“Time”
Time opens with extremely loud clips of different types of clocks ringing. Once all the clocks stop, there is a slow and deep guitar solo along with a fast-paced drum solo in the background. The song describes what time has to do with the tough transition from youth to adulthood. When we’re young we think we have all the time in the world. We don’t realize how quickly time passes by until we’re out of time and full of regret. You wasted your life trying to be comfortable, rather than living the crazy fun life you dreamed of when you were young. And now that you want to live that life, it's too late. You're out of time and luck. The song seems to be a great depiction of a rock 'n' roll midlife crisis. 
“The Great Gig in the Sky”
This song is a lyrical Interpretation of death, sorrow, happiness, joy, and pain, all at the same time. It opens with a man saying “ And I am not frightened of dying -Any time will do, I don't mind -Why should I be frightened of dying? There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime-If you can hear this whispering you are dying“. Deep, I know. The rest of the song is Clare Tony’s emotional and powerful vocals growing more and more with the music, till the piano slows and her voice calms. I feel this represents the angry and fearful feeling felt toward death escalation until finally, it’s accepted.
“Money”
Money is one of my all-time favorite Pink Floyd songs. This is a fun rock/jazz song with a catchy bass riff and iconic guitar solo but, like every other song on this album, it’s got a much deeper meaning. When you first take a look at the lyrics, you may think “Wow, Pink Floyd sure did love being millionaires”. That’s exactly what Waters wanted you to think when he wrote the song. When Gilmour sang “Money, it’s a hit. Don’t give me that do goody good bullshit”, it exposed the arrogance of the upper class. You don’t have to be filthy rich to associate yourself with some of the songs lyrics, as everyone has had some connection to greed. The overall theme of this song is how we evolve in our relationship with money.
“Us and Them”
The conversation closing Money then leads into the calming musical introduction of Us and Them. Most people think the songs only theme is war. I’d argue that it's not about war so much as it is about the tendency of humans to fight with each other. Not just on the battlefield, but in everyday situations. In an interview Waters discusses a bit of the meaning behind Us and Them: that we are constantly fighting each other and separating ourselves into an "us vs. them" mentality. The point is that we unnecessarily divide ourselves based on every little thing, concentrate on our differences, and forget to think about all the ways we're all in this thing together. So, yes, on a small scale, it's about war, but it's more about human nature in general. Not just the political idea of one country against another, but the very simple idea of one human against another. The powerful background vocals and sax solos communicate the importance of the theme of the song.
“Any Colour You Like”
This song is beautiful, but I haven’t quite discovered it’s meaning yet. There are no lyrics for me to analyze in this song. The only thing I can really comment on in the song is the fact that I feel like I’m on an insane psychedelic acid trip. 
“Brain Damage”
This song describes a man's final descent into insanity. The whole album itself poses the question "Can everyday life make you go insane?". The themes expressed in Time, Money, Us and Them, and so on all lead up to this when this normal person finally goes insane from his normal life. Finally, at the end of the song, you hear that manic laugh again. The lunatic really is in this guys head. I’d also like to add that some would argue this album was based on what Syd Barrett was going through with drug addiction. Wish You Were Here was without a doubt an ode to Syd, but I think the deep meanings this album presents are beyond Pink Floyd’s co-founder.
“Eclipse”
The final song in The Dark Side of the Moon is Eclipse. There are infinite themes and metaphors you can obtain from this song. Here’s how I see it. It's saying that everything in the universe is in perfect harmony and balance. It is only us humans that are messed up. The moon represents the chaos and madness of our minds that eclipses the god-giving light of the sun. That's why Dark Side of the Moon is really the dark side of human nature, as it blinds us, but it's also what makes us unique. As the last lines show, there is no dark side of the moon, it's all dark. It's only the sun that makes it bright. So in fact, everyone is crazy, and that is our purpose.
 I hope this post cleared up some of the confusion on what this album was communicating. In the end, only the writers of this album will know the true meaning.

Still hoping to make it shorter this time! [A/N: It didn’t work. Again.] Many thanks for the encouraging and interesting comments and notes. Again, thank you Anon for the question!
Saitou Hajime:  basic archetype is kuudere; some say tsun, but Saito lacks the edginess (or snarkiness) of the tsundere--his criticisms (when he deems them worth voicing) are honest/blunt, rarely teasing/mean; he’s cool and quiet, but the words he does speak, and his actions, betray his snowbunny-appreciating nature; he generally aims for non-engagement, not rejection. 
[Note for purists: the kuudere is normally very cynical as part of their cold façade; Saito isn’t portrayed as particularly cynical (about life, or romantic partners*), especially in comparison to Nagakura, Okita, and Hijikata.  Saito’s coldness is of the reserved-but-practical kind, and his weakness is that he avoids emotion and then fails to fully understand it.  He’s observant, but may not fully grasp what he’s seeing (compare to Okita, who is both observant and likely to draw cynical--and mostly accurate--conclusions).]
* We don’t know that he thinks about romantic partners at all; we can infer from his actions that he finds Chizuru interesting, and worthy of some admiration; in later musings (see his letter) he indicates as much.  There are no signs of cynicism.

What expands on the kuudere archetype?  Saito is given more prominence as an “action character” in Hakuouki than most kuudere types.  The kuudere is often a bookworm (and elitist), a scientist, or some (other) form of intellectual.  Saito is none of those; instead, he’s a top swordsman, and--most unusually--a killer.  This makes a difference to the feel of the character, because his coolness can be tinged with menace, and even when looking past his extreme reserve, his gentleness retains a layer of tension that speaks of a mind trained to an art of war, not peace.  He admires skill and courage, but ultimately believes that the true measure of a warrior is his ability to kill his opponent.  And yet... he has no desire to kill except as required.  He seems prosaic about the whole thing:  the function of a warrior--of a sword--is to kill; however, there is a time and a place for it.  Ultimately, the story is rich enough to encompass all of these things, which makes the kuudere label too general.
Hakuouki promotes Saito as one of its most impressive swordsmen, and puts him on an equal footing with more dramatic characters (e.g., Okita, Hijikata).  While kuudere characters are often too static, and end up stuck forever in the “icy-calm-and-cynical-voice-of-reason” role, Hakuouki allows Saito to be both a foil (e.g., for Okita’s aggressive brilliance, or Hijikata’s intense-and-angry strength), and stand out as a badass in his own right. Saito isn’t just “cold”, he’s legitimately scary; he has killed and will kill; and he doesn’t make a show of moral qualms.  Most kuudere types aren’t designed to be capable of that level of violence/intimidation; alternately, they are designed to spend a lot of time (in private!) agonizing over the past.

Saito eventually becomes more and more anxious about his place--and worth--in a world that favours numbers and armament over personal loyalty and skill, but he shows little inclination to worry about past actions, or the lives he has taken.  This is part of his “cold” outward self, but unlike the true kuudere trope, it’s not exactly a façade, nor is it directed at Chizuru.  It takes Chizuru a while to realize that while Saito appears coldly unemotional about violence and death, his actions toward her are consistently caring--he treats her with a fair bit of consideration, but you have to focus on what he does, as opposed to the impression he leaves.  In some ways, he’s not cold enough to be a true kuudere.  Saito’s version of the kuudere may be more about the era and the culture than anything.
[A number of people find Saito’s route a bit boring, because he doesn’t change/ mature/ evolve as vividly as others.  I’ve come to understand this perspective better, and I think it goes to show that we all enjoy different things in our 2D fiction. Personally, I enjoy the lack of outward drama, which lets me watch Chizuru whittle away at Saito’s lack of love for himself, his over-seriousness, and his perfectionism.  She forces him into different ways of thinking, and into slowly acknowledging emotion, by dint of what she does and how she behaves.  It’s my kind of feel-good relationship building.  I still wish they could have kissed sooner, but that’s most of Hakuouki for you (deep sigh).]
Heisuke:
Heisuke is the classic deredere:  he’s sunny, he’s loving, and he doesn’t hide how he feels (or maybe he tries to, but fails).  He’s overtly (notice the “t”)  friendly to Chizuru almost from the beginning.  I’ve already written about how Heisuke is more complicated than it appears here.  In the same vein, Heisuke is not a simple deredere--which is good, because the trope can get wildly over-simplified, to the point where it’s hard to take either character in the potential relationship seriously.

There’s a lot of real grief in Hakuouki, and Heisuke has a lot going on in his head right from the beginning--this means that the full, adoring nature of the deredere is muted.  He doesn’t dare be too obvious about how he feels--for one thing, he’s trying to emulate a cynical warrior; for another, he’s not supposed to give away Chizuru’s cover as a page/boy; for a third, too many people around him will make fun of him  Also, Heisuke is serious about being good at what he does.  It’s questionable whether he’s cut out by nature to be a member of the Shinsengumi, as demonstrated in Hakuouki Reimeiroku, but he’s trying his hardest to do what’s right, and he’s undeniably gifted as a fighter.  The mess with the rasetsu is truly disturbing to him, but unfortunately, he lacks the experience to see that Itou’s faction has its own agenda that may not be much better.

Ultimately, Hakuouki expands on the archetype of the deredere by allowing Heisuke to be a tragic figure.  He suffers a lot, both from inner uncertainty and physical trauma, and Chizuru’s constancy becomes very important.  As the story goes on, Heisuke’s feelings for Chizuru become more grounded in who she is, as opposed to what Heisuke expects from a sweet girl of about his own age (and there’s lots of overlap, so it’s mostly a comfortable transition).  His original feelings are shown to be real, even if they’ve deepened from (arguably) a crush to something more permanent.  Overall, the story allows for a lot more human behaviour from Heisuke--with big highs and tough lows--than one gets from the often over-the-top deredere trope.
 As always, I hope this is interesting, and these are just my thoughts!

Hello! Can you share more hc or thoughts on KuroMahuSaki? Because I'm slowly getting on board, the dynamic is awesome!
Hello! Also sorry I’m 2 days(??) late to this, I’ve been real busy and tired.
But omg, it always makes me happy when people start to get on board with this ship!!! Both KuroMahi and SakuMahi are good and deserve love and respect~ 💙❤💚 I love idea of the dynamics a lot too. 
Sure! I can share some more random thoughts and hcs for KuroMahiSaku! Man, where do I even start… OvO;;
I guess I’ll start with the cuter hcs? and see what else comes to mind from there. I don’t know, I don’t usually write these out so I’ll do my best. 
In a happier world/totally not delusional ending I always imagined that the three of them end up all living together in the apartment,(because think of all the endless shenanigans that could happen from that.) 
Sakuya always quickly offering to help Mahiru with the chores and Kuro watching them not really caring at first (cause hey means he doesn’t have to do it even more now and he can relax.) and Kuro always calls Sakuya a “suck up” for it when he instantly jumps up to help lol, but Kuro sees how much fun they have and how much closer the two of them become and seeing that helps him participate more in that kind of thing and Kuro really ends up enjoying it and spending time with them. 
In the early days of this though(like before Sakuya and Kuro completely warm up to each other) I can definitely see the two of them competing with the chores sometimes. Like seeing who can do things faster and more efficiently than the other and see who can impress Mahiru with their housekeeper skills. But whenever they end up competing it usually leads to the job looking very rushed and sloppy from both of them and Mahiru scolds them about it and tells them they should work together and NOT compete like idiots. (Oh what is Mahi going to do with these boys?? His poor laundry can’t take much more of this hahaha)
Imagine members of Team Melancholy and the Servamp Family coming over every so often. Both Sakuya and Kuro having their “annoying relatives™” coming over from time to time. It’s usually absolute chaos when they all come together but ends up being a good time a lot. (Again in an ideal happy ending I’m hoping the war between them all ends peacefully and everyone can have gatherings and be friends like this. JUST LET ME HAVE THIS THOUGHT PLEASE. Tsubaki. Just imagine Tsubaki constantly teasing Kuro and Sakuya about stuff and their “relationship” with Mahiru. You know he would, how could Tsubaki not tease his older brother and his young subclass about it? “It’s so fun!” (I’m sure some of the others do this sometimes too for sure, but Tsubaki is close to them both so he gets the best of worlds and he loves it. lol) 
I like to imagine that a cute way that Sakuya and Kuro can bond is over their daily interests. For example, Kuro likes video games and Sakuya likes music. Sakuya’s canon interests include browsing music stores and playing rhythm games. So I can just imagined one day Kuro being like “What???? You don’t really play anything besides rhythm games??? What’s wrong with you?” Or something like that lol and makes Sakuya try something else for once. Or maybe Sakuya or Kuro challenging the other in a game of their choice and it results in several rounds of different kinds of gaming. (Sakuya purposely keeps picking rhythm games, so he can get a guaranteed win.) But Mahiru is so happy to see them having fun.
Mahiru definitely joins in their gaming sessions sometimes. (I don’t know why but I imagine Sakuya lets Mahiru win a lot lololol and Kuro is just over there like “God, what a suck up…” for the 800th time, but still constantly destroys them both in video games because you guys know Kuro has to be the best player out of the 3 of them.) 
Eventually sharing these interests will result in Sakuya sharing music with Kuro. (Sure, we don’t know if Kuro is a huge music fan or even what kind of music he likes,but I’m sure Sakuya and Kuro’s music tastes would be different enough that they would be able to share unique stuff with each other.) 
Imagine them all cooking dinner together. Mahiru trying to teach these two kitchen disasters how to cook. (Kuro sometimes eating some of the ingredients or completed parts of the meal before they even finish everything or just needing help in general sometimes haha, Mahiru thinks its rather cute sometimes too and doesn’t mind showing Kuro how.) I actually have a lot of thoughts about them cooking and just doing chores together. HELP ME. 
I doodled something like this once before a long time ago, but since Mahiru is still a human I like to imagine him slowly getting taller than both Sakuya and Kuro(even though not by that much, Mahiru is still the shortest out of three, soooooooo I just really like this idea.) Mahiru continually thinking it’s funny when they notice the changes and when either of them get confused or flustered by the fact “Oh what? Hey… you’re eye level to me now.” (Oh, those two poor immortal babies.) 
A bit of a sudden sadder thought here though, but I’m sure Kuro and Sakuya share the over-whelming sense of dread knowing Mahiru won’t last forever. Mahiru is still a human after all. But hey…. they will still have each other. Besides, it would be so sad that they stopped being friends or whatever they ended up becoming just because they lost Mahiru. Kuro and Sakuya would know Mahiru would probably want them to stay close and not fall apart because he’s no longer there. Mahiru would want them to be friends on their own and not just for him. 
Okay, but imagine school starting up again for Mahiru. Imagine Mahiru thinking Sakuya should go back to school with him(and kitty Kuro of course). Just like how it used to be. But Sakuya instantly being apprehensive and saying a lot of things like “Oh… n-no Mahiru… I can’t do that. You know I can’t. Not after the way I left and what I did… I don’t belong there….and they don’t remember me anymore…you know that.”  Mahiru would be saddened by Sakuya’s words and negativity because of the emotional baggage that comes with even the good memories of their time in school together. But Mahiru would maybe reassure Sakuya saying things like “Well…things are different now and I wouldn’t want to leave you here alone almost everyday. I just thought it might be the best solution for us all and I thought… I thought that’s what you originally wanted because now you have that choice again…” (FOR  REAL THOUGH GUYS SAKUYA’S ORIGINAL WISH WAS TO FINISH HIGH SCHOOL WITH MAHIRU, RYUSEI AND KOYUKI AND THEN LEAVE THEIR LIVES WITHOUT ANY COMMOTION  BECAUSE HE KNOWS HE’S A VAMPIRE AND CAN’T STAY WITH THEM AND I AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA)

Even though this is Sakuya’s internal dialogue here, it’s a still a very real thing he wanted AND I THINK ABOUT IT TOO MUCH. THE BOY JUST WANTS TO GO TO HIGH SCHOOL AND BE A “NORMAL” TEEN BECAUSE HE NEVER GOT THAT BEFORE AND IT HURTS MEEEE.  ITS LITERALLY NO JOKE.

okay need to end this hc here cause I actually have too many thoughts about this and could go on about this. 
Anyways, don’t think I forgot about Uncle Tooru haha but I can see things going a couple of ways with explaining things to him. (I mean, he’s got to find out about Mahiru’s involvement with vampires in the canon story eventually. Right?? Although…. I still wonder about Tooru’s potential involvement with C3…? but that’s another conversation for another time. But it makes me curious about this hc.) He technically knows about Kuro already. Only in cat form though in canon….and Tooru knows Sakuya exists as Mahiru’s friend still too and Tooru is the one who helped Mahiru realize he should go after Sakuya in the canon story. So I wonder if things would start out with Mahiru being like “Um… is it okay if my friend here stays for awhile?” or maybe they would just be at the point where they straight up tell the truth when they get chance. (Again, just a lot of ways this can play out. So aaaaaahhhh)
I’m sure there are times Mahiru misses his mother, especially when it gets around to the day the accident happened and I already had a small thought/headcanon that Kuro helps comfort Mahiru around that time the best he can, Mahiru has comforted Kuro during tough times and helped him face his regrets, so of course Kuro would do something like this for Mahiru. But now hear me out with this too. I also think the same thing happens for Sakuya but with his older sister, cause it’s no doubt she was very important to Sakuya. These losses are equally traumatic for Mahiru and Sakuya because they both lost important family members at a very young age. But they definitely mourn differently about it. I feel like Sakuya doesn’t like showing this kind of “weakness” and his sister/past overall is likely already a very touchy subject to bring up around him. (I mean we had to have Tsubaki tell Sakuya’s past in the canon story and not Sakuya himself, so I feel it’s something he definitely hates talking about and probably wouldn’t have ever mentioned it to Mahiru if it wasn’t for Tsubaki.) I feel like Sakuya would cry somewhere secretly in silence, because he doesn’t want anyone to ask him about it. I mean he’s technically done that before over Mahiru *cough* *cough* never forget episode 4 *cough* As much as Mahiru is likely to be the one to help Sakuya open up more and being the one Sakuya feels most comfortable talking to….I really really do like the idea of Sakuya and Kuro becoming close too and I truthfully don’t talk about it enough. I like the thought of Kuro actually beginning to really care about him first. So I like the thought of Kuro awkwardly trying to figure it out there’s anything he can do and if he should do any kind of physical contact or anything??? Kuro trying his best to be more social and showing more care in his own little Kuro way, gives me life alright? I need more of this kind of character development and Kuro trying to interact with others. I get the funniest thought of Kuro panicking and just patting Sakuya on the head and being like….”uh… there, there.” Help him he is trying. Kuro knows how to handle Mahiru but not green boy yet.  
I realized these hcs and thoughts slowly are getting more and more into angst territory, but hey I already said things wouldn’t always be smooth sailing for this ship. It would take a lot of building up.  
But it was nice talking about the fun ideas rather than mostly discussing angsty canon stuff. 
Since this is already getting super long and will turn into more rambles I will stop for now. Cause the more I talk the longer and more elaborate I try to get.  I wasn’t joking when I said I have way too many thoughts. 😂😂😂

♛   What is an aspect of your muse that you’ve wanted to explore the most? 
    hhhhhhh i don’t know, it fluctuates a lot? Though it mainly changes between the worst time of her life, and the best, that being: post-academy fall/association uprooting + yuuki’s awakening + surprise, eva’s not actually dead for now VS. she’s happily married w five kids and has grown up a LOT since her teen years. 
    Bethy is a naturally orderly and strong-willed person who, after making some tough decisions, becomes totally dedicated to her job as a hunter; she was born into that world at the peak of their society being the descendant of the Averill line + the only child of Kaien Cross who is a hunting legend– whatever his current status may be, and despite having struggles related to the social/emotional complexity of balancing out the human world, vampire society, and her own place in those realms, she remains determined to play her part in maintaining the peace. UNFORTUNATELY for her, she relied too much on the Association– I mean, she revolves her entire self-worth on being a hunter, and when things collapse? She does too. She feels disgusted stupid and used and worthless.
    The rug’s been pulled out from under her, the status of her mother being alive isn’t exactly stable– her best friends are gone (bc yeah im including eiri in this THAT’S HER BERRY ; O ; ), she’s so furious (half-rationally,half not-so-much) with Kaien she could actually KILL him, and then she’s carted off back home with her grandparents (Florence + Alexandria) to recover since she’s also sustained some physical injuries along with the heaps of emotional strain. She’s not okay for a long time, but she does recover and returns to HQ eventually. So, I guess I’d like some threads during the time of her recovery? It’s flexible enough since she doesn’t stay cooped up indoors the entire time she’s away; after the first few weeks of serious depression, she begins going out and doing normal non-huntery things. Not 100 percent all better, not even when she does come back, but away from the entire work situation, she’s healing and learning to rebuild herself, and her self-worth doesn’t revolve solely around work/the few friends she’s managed to make. She’s finally living for herself, muh bby i cant– i love bethy sm, she develops so much here
    OTHERWISE, I JUST LOVE MOM/ADULT! BETHY. She’s the happiest, healthiest version of herself and has really grown comfortable with the ‘imperfection’ of her situation– I mean, she got to marry for love (after her grandfather tried to set the man on fire) which is something she thought she never could do, her sister in-law is an aristocrat married to Takuma Ichijou aka weirdo from the strongest vampire noble family, her best friends are KURAN  PUREBLOODS, and she’s on speaking terms with Kaien so–. who’d have thought. she even survives twins.
    The first broken/recovery timeframe might lead to some more flexibility plot-wise / crossover-ish sort of things? since she’s not really  h u n t i n g  and is existing quite normally (though that’s not to say she won’t pick up 1 of several weapons and fight if she needs to), but- IDK I KINDA JUST RAMBLED / INCOHERENTLY DUMPED STUFF HERE. 
♛   Name one idea for a plot you’ve had but never gotten around to writing.
     I’m not overly plot-specific when it comes to threading with people, but I’m always open to it. I guess one I’d like is really simple: strangers meet + have a pleasant convo over some form of public transportation / helping the other with something, kinda gets really personal in conversation since whatever they’re doing is taking a  l o n g  time, and they kindly part ways, thinking they won’t see each other again, then meeting again some time later in an either mundane situation or ‘uh so someone’s destroying the city’-level action. what happens from there depends on characters / story? I had a thread sort of like this, and it led to one of the best relationships Bethy ever had, but the mun deactivated and I’m still kinda, like, sad about it kfjdlkfjd
    That, or maybe something like–??? one muse saves the other from something, and they somehow end up getting stuck together through a really bad situation and help each other out. AS U CAN SEE, I don’t, uh, plot a lot .  .  .  o w q ;;
    as a sidenote, this goes across all my blogs: i love one-sided love :’D

    Arata and Eva, for sure but u knew that. It’s more just a matter of meee…….nnnot writing out their backstories, even though I have it all there. Arata (affectionately called RaRa/Rara ooc–) is a vampire hunter like Beth, from a really powerful family, who somehow ended up unofficially officially adopting 3 kids after a like, 7 yr old saved his punk 17 yr old butt from a vampire. he grew up, wears glasses for fashion bc he doesn’t need them, and is all around a really good guy; he’s kind of awkward and is a family disappointment, but he’s got hunting skills fo dayyyys, just ask the chunks of noble flesh for touching one of his bbys–. He’s no joke my favorite OC EVER, and if it weren’t for my inability to actually be active, i’d give him his own blog. I love RaRa, man.
    As for Eva, she’s Elizabeth’s mother, for those who don’t know. She’s a fun character to write, though I don’t much for the above reasons of ‘no bio written for the public’–. She’s made mistakes, the big one sticking out as letting herself get cornered by the president (marrying kaien wasn’t one of her mistakes somehow), and was in the wrong place at the wrong time. As a consequence, she got bitten by a Pureblood, and the pres, being the opportunist he is, took advantage of that, locked her up, and held her prisoner for years. When she’s out, she’s got a lot of recovery to do, but she’s okay in the end. She’s also one of Bethy’s biggest influences, and where she learned her kindness/fun side from. bethy is a kind girl ok, she’s just got a few HIGHLY situational layers to get past– but yeah. I liked Eva so much I kept her alive; I can’t imagine my OCs without her now.
♛   Name one of your favorite tropes.
    This is something I never really thought on before, since I don’t really pay attention to tropes. I don’t know what it would be called, but something pertaining to opposites or contradictions, I guess? Since, Bethy is practically a land-confused mermaid :’D and i associate her/gentle tides with water and the calmness+peace it brings her, but she herself, along with her family, is heavily fire-influenced, or in takashi’s case, WATER = NO, IM GOOD, THANK YOU. but somehow, it still works? 
    Same with her overall existence? she’s a beautiful liar/actress, but she doesn’t lie where it isn’t necessary. she has to keep her hunter/vampire involvement a secret– that’s something she’ll never casually spill, but she’s not really as closed off as she seems, the situation just needs to be right. ahh… bethy’s pretty open-minded to things despite how straight-laced she is, and it really shows later in life. love of her life = hunter from an incredibly nontraditional family. mother = lvl d vampire. two of her children = cursed twins. bffs = no joke all vamps. yuuki…eiri, zero– i dont think she has human friends outside of akemi. hhhhh….. ANYWAY, all of that, it’s far from the idea of ‘picture perfect’ she upholds through her early life, but in the end, it works out? and it is perfect, for her.
    Not really a TROPE, i suppose .  .  . but she’s a bit of a mess in terms of contradictions both personally and thematically. if there’s a trope name for that, she’d fall into its category.

An oldie but goodie included with the “MANKAI☆KAIKA SENGEN” single released back in February. The four leaders discuss the issues in each of their troupes, get a little personal about some of their members, and even do impressions of them!
Tenma: A3! Drama CD. Sakuya: Leaders Meeting. —— /running footsteps/ /door opening and closing/ Tenma: Sorry, got held up! Banri: Tenma, you’re friggin’ late. Tenma: Filming went over. Sakuya: Everyone’s here now, right? Tsumugi: With that, I call the 13th Leader Meeting to order. Tsumugi: I, Tsumugi Tsukioka, will be the moderator. Tsumugi: As for secretary— Sakuya, I’m counting on you. Sakuya: Please leave it to me! Banri: /game sounds/ Boom! Got that super rare~ Tsumugi: Banri! No games during the meeting. Banri: Woooord. But uh, what’re we doing this meeting? The director isn’t here, yeah? Tsumugi: That’s true… She said she’d leave it up to us, but… Tenma: Hey. Tsumugi: Tenma, go ahead. Tenma: How about “Regarding MANKAI Company’s Operations Strategy?” Banri: Could we even decide something like that with just us 4? Sakuya: Why not collect some of our opinions and make suggestions to the director? Tsumugi: Yeah, that sounds good, I think. I’d like to confirm the status of each troupe, too. Tenma: So we’re set, then. Banri: Roger that. Tsumugi: Alright, let’s jump right in from Spring Troupe, please. Sakuya: Okay! Sakuya: Spring Troupe is currently practicing toward a local tour. We’re thinking of several unique strategies to make something even better than our last in-house production. Banri: It’s been awhile since your last show— isn’t it tough trying to get a feel for the stage again? Sakuya: That is the case, yes. We do get a lot of practice from street acting, though. Tsumugi: Improv theater is a bit different though, isn’t it? Sakuya: Yes… And Itaru seems very busy lately. Tsumugi: He’s the only one working full-time after all, maybe he has lot on his plate? Banri: Ohhhh, haha. It’s ‘cuz there was that massive update. Tenma: Huh? Update? Banri: The expansion for this game he’s into. With leveling and logging in day and night— ‘course he’s got no time. Tenma: You mean he’s “busy” with a game?! Banri: Exactly. Sakuya: There’s Masumi, too. He’s hardly in the mood for practice whenever the director is working with other troupes. Tenma: Yeeaah… Tsumugi: I can see that. The director is his life, after all. Sakuya: Spring Troupe improves exponentially when we’re in a pinch, but we may have trouble with regular, routine improvement. Sakuya: If I could just apply my leadership more… Banri: Well, every troupe’s got their issues. Tenma: Summer Troupe has problems too. Tenma: Since Yuki spends all his time on costuming for other troupes, there’re times when he can’t even do normal practice. Banri: Our costume designer is always aimin’ high after all. Recently Taichi from Autumn’s been getting roped in too. Tenma: Plus, Kazunari is in charge of the website and is busy with the updates. Tsumugi: A number of Summer Troupe members work behind-the-scenes or have their own side jobs, so it’s natural for those kinds of problems to pop up, I guess. Sakuya: Does Autumn Troupe have these kinds of issues? Banri: Well, I think everyone’s pretty gung-ho about practice. Banri: But— we fight a lot. Tsumugi: I’d expect nothing less of MANKAI Company’s most trigger happy troupe. Banri: Hyodo’s friggin’ annoying. Banri: I swear— practice goes nowhere. Tenma: Your relationship’s the same as when you guys first auditioned, huh. Tenma: If we’re talking about getting derailed though, Misumi’s just as bad. Tenma: At the least, we have to make sure we don’t leave anything triangular lying around. Tsumugi: Misumi’s love for triangles is pretty extreme. Banri: He’s more a devout believer than a fan. Tenma: “Trianglicism,” huh? Sakuya: How fitting… Tenma: Also, everyone’s so pushy that we lack unity and calm. Tsumugi: Summer is the overall youngest and an energetic troupe, right? Tenma: “Energetic”? More like “noisy.” Tenma: Those guys totally don’t get I’m the “leader.” Tenma: They don’t respect me at all. Tenma: Seriously, who do they think I am?! Tenma: I’m the talented 15-plus-year veteran actor Tenma Sumeragi! Banri: So the pushiest of them all is actually the leader himself, amirite? Tenma: What?! /chair shuffling/ How am I— Sakuya: Easy, easy. Sakuya: How about Winter Troupe? Tsumugi: Hmm… Well, in short, we have a lot of people who go at their own pace. Banri: Oh yeah. Like a poet, and a hostess*, and someone who sleeps three-thirds of his life. Tenma: Wouldn’t he be asleep his whole life then? Tsumugi: Maybe it’s because our members are all on the older side, but our difficulties are in being impulsive, or rather, unable to concentrate on improving. Tenma: Everyone’s got something, huh. Tsumugi: Yeah… Banri: Can we really talk about “strategy” in this situation? Tenma: We’ve got more fundamental problems. Tsumugi: Mmm… Sakuya: Oh! Speaking of which, I read this in a book the other day. Apparently, a leader’s love for the members is essential to improving a group’s performance. Banri: “Love” for the members? Tsumugi: So complaining like this is no good, then? Tenma: I mean, it’s not like there’s no love at all in those. Banri: ’the heck do you mean by “love” anyway? Talk about embarrassing. Tsumugi: Maybe it’s like, how much you observe and think about the members. Tenma: Or like, how well you know them? Like that? Sakuya: Excuse me! In that case, I’m actually pretty confident. Sakuya: So I noticed this just recently, but when Masumi is sleepy, he always rubs his right eye— never, ever the left one! Banri: Damn that’s specific! Tsumugi: Oh, I see. Good eye. Sakuya: When you live together, you start to notice all kinds of things, right? Banri: I got one. On nights after he’s had gym class, Hyodo will absolutely grind his teeth. Friggin’ obnoxious. Sakuya: Really?! Tenma: Isn’t he just tired? Sakuya: Tsumugi, have you noticed anything about your troupe members? Tsumugi: Hmm… When Tasuku oversleeps, he’ll definitely have a cowlick on the left side of the back of his head— like that? Banri: Of course. Childhood friends of 10-years deep have tons of info. Tenma: Kinda stalker-y, though. Tsumugi: Also, the wheezing sounds Hisoka makes during REM sleep is a little different from the wheezing sounds he makes during non-REM sleep. Sakuya: So it has nothing to do with how long he’s known someone. Banri: Tsumugi is the real deal. Tenma: He’s definitely built to be a stalker. Sakuya: B-But, you can definitely feel his love for the members! Tenma: If we’re just talking about “observing,” I’m observing too! Tenma: Yuki’s always like, “So obnoxious. Crappy actor.” Sakuya: Wow! That sounded just like him! Tsumugi: That was surprisingly good! Banri: That’s just an impression! Sakuya: Well, you can’t do an impression of someone without observing them closely. Banri: Then I can do Hyodo impressions all day long. So sick and tired of him. Banri: “Get lost. Jerk.” Tenma: …How’s that different from your usual self? Tsumugi: It really isn’t… Banri: Hey, it’s totally different! Don’t lump me in with that guy! Sakuya: Okay, my turn! Sakuya: “A blowfish will strike ducks who smile, laugh, and grow fat.” Banri: Hahaha! Spot on! Tsumugi: Just like Citron. Tenma: “Good fortune will come to the homes of those who smile, laugh and grow fat,” right? Tenma: The nonsensical bit was very Citron. Banri: How ‘bout Winter Troupe? Tsumugi: I’m not too confident, but— Tsumugi: “I shall present my poetic secret weapon.” Tsumugi: “Distant montage / Continual décantage…” All: Hahaha! Banri: Hilariousss. Sakuya: That is just like Homare. Banri: “Not too confident”? You were totally into it! Tenma: Oh, me, me, me! Tenma: “Princes are so amazing~ Wish I could be one~” Sakuya: Haha! It’s Muku! Tsumugi: “Each and every spice is critical in curry. In other words, curry is like its own little world.” Banri: Here comes the director out of left field! Sakuya: That’s too real! Tenma: You’re good! /door opening and closing/ Sakuya: Ah, Director! Banri: Oh…Director… Tenma: N-No! We weren’t playing around! Tsumugi: We weren’t fooling around either! Banri: We weren’t practicing for an impression contest either! Sakuya: We were seriously having a meeting! Tenma: Honest! Banri: Yeah! Like, uh, how we express our love for our members? Kinda? Sakuya: Y-Yeah, yeah! Exactly! Tenma: Like, how much we think about our members! Banri: Well, that last bit was totally an impression contest, though… Sakuya: Hm? Uh… the…meeting? Banri: I mean…we were having a meeting… Tenma: About…MANKAI Company’s…future operations strategy… Tsumugi: Ehe…we got really off track, huh?
* From the brief research I’ve done, the term Banri uses here specifically refers to women (who do nightlife kind of jobs). I’m sure he’s cleverly referencing Azuma’s feminine appearance in addition to his previous occupation.
