#my art #ruin spoilers #daycare attendant #ruin eclipse #eclipse #still not sure how to tag them #i honestly have mixed feelings on their ''happy birthday'' line.. eclipse doesn't make any sense to me #why do they seem so unaware of the state of things? sun and moon seem to be in denial but eclipse... do they know?#but there's no way they're some sort of new feature... wouldn't a reboot just make them start as their default state?#is eclipse their default? and sun and moon are deviations of it.. rather than eclipse being the two of them combined?#my personal theory is that eclipse was their theater personality.. and when the theater functionality was removed it made sun and moon into #their own two personalities... but before that it was actually eclipse functioning as both of them #it's all sort of complicated... but then again the dca was always complicated :/#but anyway... its also my birthday today. so thats why i drew them

I was looking stuff up about Kyle for something I was trying to write and it's like I stumbled across a Stormfront forum.

Like, I don't think all the discourse about changing the race/ethnicity of characters is invalid but some of you guys are less concerned about the half-assed writing/representation aspect and more upset about him being black specifically and you're just using the former to cover it up.

#local villianess found family's herself into the protagonist group #after being awfully brutalized and abused by her twin brother #(and also after spending hours tormenting the main cast)#because she's not really dangerous she's just weird and lonely #like she's VERY EXTREMELY dangerous but is just super not interested in using her power for true evil. just chaos.#she is the Queen of Chaos after all. a benign virus.#no one in the protagonist group really trusts her but She Persists and ultimately saves everyone's lives *because* she's a virus #anyways this is your local Hexadecimal propaganda #i know it doesn't look good and aged like milk left on the counter #but if you ever watch reboot with me i will love you forever. one of my dearest shows and very crucial to who i became as a person #you can see glimpses of how i tell stories in it #and i quote it Constantly its just that no one around me knows its a quote so i just sound like im making dumb jokes #got a guardian icon pin a few years back and i almost cried. i hope someone makes those in enamel someday

is doctor who good. like actually. be honest i cant get hyperfixated on another bad media i think ill be killed /silly

okay so likee im . majorly hyperfixated on doctor who ( i think its growing into an autistic spin i'll be so real ) and i love it to pieces and i think the story is good. but it'd be dishonoest to say its not bad sometimes. there are over 400 hours of content, not all of it is ballpark writing, but more often than not its good. and there are a LOT of spectacular moments and stories that hit hard emotionally. but im also just not sure in what context you mean. like when you say 'bad' do u mean bad story or problematic.?!?!? help.

the funny thing is about that sesame street clip is I remember growing up, how '90-'00s children's shows were commonly brushed as off as being too raucous, hyper, and loud by adults around me.

and there were definitely plenty of all-action shows, but there are many others where, after watching them back now I'm older, I'm struck by how slow-paced and quiet they actually were. there's a lot of scenes with no incidental music, the voice deliveries are very quiet and almost candid, and the sound design in general is subtle. even shows that are Known for their erratic tone (e.g. IZ) knew when to pull back and let a moment be, which makes the louder moments land all the better.

and maybe this is just me being old now lmaooo but I do occasionally catch little kid stuff and go, ok now this actually is just noise. this is good for no one. breathe a little.

#I've noticed the direction for a lot of voice-acting these days (in north america and uk at least) is to strongly enunciate the lines #and personally I feel like it makes the delivery almost sluggish like?#putting too much emphasis on something rather than letting it have its moment. for lack of a better description.#it can either make a moral moment too patronising or a comedic moment less funny depending on which tone they're aiming for #its most noticeable in reboots where you can compare original scripts. the first example coming to mind is og/reignited spyro cutscenes #i'm sure 50% of that is my overfamiliarity with the og meaning that anything that doesn't match those beats feels off anyway #but also I just don't think. the style of voice-acting is as good? and it's a couple of the same people too #nothing is wrong with their ability it's what direction was given/takes were chosen. idk.

thinking about even and jack meeting, because i think it would be hilarious. it’s not that flirtation goes completely over their head, it’s that anything that’s even slightly more complicated than ‘you’re pretty’ misses it’s mark because there are context clues they are not picking up on (autism) and innuendo they aren’t versed in at all (spaceship). which jack could obviously adapt to very quickly, i just think it would be funny for him to throw out something charming and just get sort of. squinted at.

#i cant fucking write pick-up lines to save my life but like for example. for example. jack: you must have some capable hands if the doctor’s #trusting you to help fly the tardis. ;) || Even: (aware that their job is mostly following instructions) I am very good at listening???#it cannot be subtle. they arent going to pick up on subtle.#cut to later when jack’s figured this out and also figured out that he can call even pretty and force reboot their brain for a solid minute #easiest work of charming someone in his life.#i dont think even has a crush on jack beyond like. the ‘i know like 4 people with more depth than passing strangers and you’re one of them #and also handsome and niceys to me.’#but that’s a factor here.#especially since jack is like. very openly physically affectionate in ways the doctor usually isn’t without the prompting of life or death #situations or success over life or death situations.#even deserves to have their hair ruffled is what im saying.#bless them. they would die immediately if they were shunted into the torchwood universe. there is a version of them that is fucked up and #able to choose violence but that version is very contigent on a specific situation person and lack of access to any other options.#if you put them in torchwood they would not resort to that. they would have a panic attack. and die.#but its fine. theyre safe in the tardis.#what was my point here. ive forgotten. i was going somewhere with this. rose was involved.#dw oc
