its always surreal to me to see people praise s2 of centaurworld. s2 was so spectacularly bombastic and aimless and it ended in this awkward forgettable fizzle.
i feel like a dick saying it b/c i really do love the show lmao. or, at least half of it lmao (/stares at tnwk). gf and i've been thinking about rewatching it just to write out our thoughts on why s2 was such a poor follow-up to s1 - from the tone to the setup to all the worldbuilding the narrative had to offer in between the (far more) memorable songs of s1. idk. it's sad because cw really had the bones of a cult classic, but idek if you can call it that.
ive seen a few posts commenting on its lack of popularity, and i feel like it certainly deserves more, b/c i do feel like it's a novel idea made w/ love, but the shift btwn s1 and s2 wasnt just in the plot. there was a full-on *fracture* in the quality and direction and i'm still scratching my head over it. more than i should be, probably. but, it's just a bummer.

Well, it looks like I've caved and started with the Korean TLs of the i7 story from 6.10. It's (pretty) slow progress, but I'm managing more or less okay. The question I have to the fandom is....while I'm not confident enough in Korean (like at all) to give direct TLs from that, nor do I want to since the translator has password protected their TLs (and I don't feel comfortable doing translations from a translation, anyway), I wouldn't mind giving summaries of each section after I finish it if people want it

Thinking about how Barry is a horror show. Bill Hader drawing you in with dark comedy just to shatter the fantasy, trapping you into a lynchian tragedy about the nature of violence and all its forms. The dark spector of abuse will follow you everywhere and affect everyone you touch, and if youre not careful, you become that spector. Whats worse, what makes you ache and greive, is what these people, these characters you can't help but See and Understand, tell themselves to justify trapping themselves and others in this continuous cycle. Glorified war stories written with the blood of occupied foreign territories. Media and its role in facilitating violence. Guns sold across the toys aisle. Bronze effigies, emerald fantasies, false memories, desolate families. This show is terrifying its a ghost haunting my TV and I want to shake Bill Hader upside down so I can collect the fucjed up ideas that fall from his pockets like candies
