I saw that they updated the mod a couple of months ago so I played it and I got dragged back to a mini Inscryption brainrot again lol- See, brainrots don't die, they lay dormant until they take over your life again asldkfjasdlf

Anyways, the mod's super fun and it consumed my life for a couple of days!! Also idk if they balanced the mod more or if I just got really lucky but I have more success in finishing runs compared to 2 yrs ago where it took abt a week for me to finish ONE run WITHOUT challenges;; regardless, I enjoyed the new additions to the mod :3

I made a post following this same swap AU idea almost 2 years ago, but I felt compelled to put a little bit more effort this time. I didn't take this too seriously so there may be some handwaving in regards to like, the canon because I have a headache trying to follow it too much lmao

but P03 and Kaycee are my faves, so im just having fun making this silly comic :^]

This one is a very sweet slice of life EG Sunset x Scitwi one, its got a lovely interpretation of the characters; With the expected but very welcome pairing of cool punk girl and adorable nerd. and i plan on doing fanart of it! The writer knows her stuff nyeheh =v= This is the best "Rarity and Applejack get drunk together and mushy stuff happens" Fic i seen out there, a trope that is surprisingly recurring, ive seen others like this! But this one is the best, hands down. A mutual of mine wrote it and its just a wonderful time! This one is a super fun horror esque rarijack fic where rarity is haunted and applejack tries to help her. its got fantastic prose and its just damn lovely! I've done fanart of it before, its a sweet one, and its also just a really interesting direction to take Rarity's character that i'm almost sad to not see more of. Overpowered rarity whennnn Although i don't ship twilight and trixie, this fic of this pairing, that is still ongoing, is fucking hilarious. The comedy has wonderful timing, and the takes on the characters are endlessly entertaining

Stay tuned to this wonderful fic of Rarijack anthros (Inspired by the ones i designed, too!!) 'cause its gonna have a sex sequel that i've already gotten a sneak peek or two of, and i'm frotthing at the mouth about it. biting things even (i sketched the cover btw!)

This fic isn't rly horse yuri but its 1000 words of Sunset Shimmer being the utter insane badass i always wished she was; and I will continue writing her like so. I'm glad to see another writer also concidered the same

If you're like me, and think that sex is funny, this fic and it's two sequels are for you. Sunset Shimmer throws a party of deranged proportions that ends in debauchery and indulgence that nearly destroys the fabric of equestria; and it's consequences are hilarious. This is a rly cute short trans rarity fic, and it has a delightful amount of rarijack within. utterly adorbs. Almost sad to see it so short! Finaly, i'd be amiss to not recommend the fics i've written myself; Here are my two biggest and most awesomest i've done: The Return of Midnight Sparkle Is a take on MLP where there is no EG universe, and rather, Sunset Shimmer is brought to the mane 6 per twilight's request, and she absolutely does not feel like she belongs, and its a narrative about her desperate attempts of fitting in; and dealing with the fallout of her failings. I put an inordinate amount of effort on this one, even drawing covers for each chapter. I went DERRANGED with the idea of "what if sunset shimmer was on FIM and also it was gay as fuck." i basicaly wrote an entire season of the show and its finale. If you're a fan of Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle as a pairing, cannot recommend enough. Here's some of the art i made for it. Insanely sick chapter covers im super proud of The Princess and the Peasant is an all you can eat buffet for Rarijack enjoyers, I've taken the baseline of the story of "shrek 1" and i made it about Applejack and Rarity; And also expanded upon it and fixed some of the annoyances with the og story (No third act misunderstanding! On the contrary. Third act understanding. SEX.) The humble farmer Applejack has to rescue fair Princess Rarity from a dragon keep, and escort her across Equestria to ensure that her farm and family are safe. Of course, on the journey, those two grow a bit close... Too close. VEry very very veyr close. Here's a comic i've made of one of my fave scenes of it lmaooo Cannot express enough; If you're a fan of rarijack? This fic is EVERYTHING for you.

10 Anti LO Asks

1. Sometimes I feel bad about the rage I feel about LO because like, bad works really should be allowed to exist. It's fine to turn off your brain for Fast and Furious or get horny over 50 Shades. The problem I have is LO's fake deep lessons it gives, pushing toward the WRONG direction. I'd be far less annoyed if it was just another trashy romance. Hades would have been fine as a shit guy; people love getting hot for fictional villains. This "aktchually he's the good guy" angle is embarrassing.

2. LO fans are more than happy to imagine the gods are neon pink and blue but at the same time get offended you fancast the actual gods as anything but blonde, blue eyed white people to be "accurate". even LO fan casts are overwhelming white people (and never greek, mind you) unless it's a villain like apollo or minthe, then they just HAPPEN to be black 🤔🤨

3. assuming the PJO Disney+ show is good and gets more seasons, just get ready for LO fans to try and review bomb it and harass the crew/cast because they'll see a popular series they already hate be mythology accurate with HxP and even show Hades would leave her to be with (gasp) a mortal instead. Apollo is even shown positively in it too!

4. The idea massive age gaps are "normal" IRL is a huge lie. It's basic statistics that most couples are within 2-5 years of each other's ages, while much older partners is a HUGE abnormally. Going off RS's ages for them (19/20 vs 40s mentally) that's barely 1% of the population, with divorce rates being HIGHER for these couples than closer in age ones. Just because old rock stars, actors, and businessmen marry women who can be their daughters' ages does not make it the norm, far from it actually.

5. RS claims she's "fighting against the toxic nature of purity culture" as if the FIRST EPISODE didn't set up the Madonna/Whore trope in Persephone and Minthe. Even them being with men that aren't Hades is framed this way. Persephone is still the pure heroine who was assaulted, she'd never willingly sleep with anyone who isn't her eventual husband! Meanwhile Minthe is the cheating whore though Hades also cheats on her and they're not exclusive. RS just lies so casually about what she depicts.

6. Ive LO fans say the Trojans deserved to be killed because they're "the bad guys" to the Greeks and bc Apollo is their patron god like?? Really?? The countless innocent men, women, and children deserved to DIE because of your shitty understanding of mythology and you not being able to tell Rachel's bad depictions apart from the actual gods? Did they read about Hektor's baby son being murdered and think he deserved it because Apollo may have liked him? These people are so gross.

7. Remember that one time when RS slutshamed Minthe for wearing a revealing dress to kid's party? Same kid who brings her mom alcohol drinks like it's nothing? And some chapters later we learn it's perfectly normal for gods to be naked around each other even if they are underage? And the shaming words come from a guy who is lusting over teenager's barely covered ass? And it's supposed to be women empowering webtoon? I just love the logic and consistency! No sarcasm, seriously!

8. Good time of the day to you I came with some news! This news may not be relevant or interesting, but when browsing the tag "Circe" here, I found this-https://why-i-love-comics.tumblr.com/post/658087925147369472/wonder-woman-black-gold-2-the-acquaintance  comic. This piece was done by RS, as you can see. Sometimes I compare her monochrome art, and the art her team colors off her sketches, and in my opinion LO would look better in black and white color scheme with some details in color! But that wouldn't work very well the color shading is inconsistent and would not look good!

9. i feel like LO fans are the same people who watched Labyrinth and got mad the MC didn't want to be with the Goblin King because they ignore the fact she was a sixteen year old girl who got over the initial desire for an older man praising her to instead see he was manipulating her and he was, duh, the villain of the movie. Like guys, there's a reason "older powerful man chases and lusts after an impressionable young girl/woman" both in fiction and in real life is seen as a BAD thing.

10. Something that I wish is Amphitrite being more important, she’s a queen and I don’t think she’s had one speaking line in 2 seasons.

i didnt expect to go digging through all my old 14 year old art tonight but here we are, thanks @omegasmileyface for reminding me of it, i had fun revisiting this AU.

At first i was only gonna show a couple pictures but i forgot the LORE i made for this Astro Boy X Danny Phantom crossover LMAO

FULL RANT UNDER THE CUT TO SAVE Y'ALL'S TIMELINES IF YOU WANNA SKIP THIS LOL

Okay so.

2012.

Originally the crossover was (and remains to be) with the Astro Boy 2009 movie. Astro's dad builds a ghost portal i think, but when Astro goes through it his blue core got kind of infected with Ectoplasm allowing his robotic body to retain a ghostly nature. Essentially i made Astro a halfa without thinking of what on earth the implications of a half robot half GHOST could even be but yk i was 14 i didnt think that far ahead. More on the Ectoplasm/Blue Core stuff later, though.

((Side note: I don't recall how exactly Astro ended up from the future to Danny's time, knowing my 14 year old self it was probably something super convoluted involving natural time portals i think?? BUT basically i think Astro gets stuck in the past so that's how. uh he and danny meet and Danny helps him with his new ghost powers))

ANYWAY

I did a few conceptual ideas of what his 'ghost half' could look like, and for some reason i really liked the idea of his outfit being purple and green, like 2 opposite colors (though one sketch i did explore was basically a DP ripoff).

Also i gave him a white stripe on his hair for his ghost half.

Anywho this was what i decided to go with.

You may notice he's got one green eye and one purple eye. That was me trying to show he's got 2 halves, the blue core and the ecto-nature. ((why is it purple, tho??)

WELL LET ME TELL U SOME LORE I MADE UP THEN

I came up with this concept/ghostly element called Black Fire. Basically, when the blue core energy and ectoplasm mixed together, it created a very powerful element called Black Fire ((also i think i made up that ectoplasm had small amounts of red core in it?? it doesn't matter really tho lol))

ESSENTIALLY Black Fire is a very chaotic element that only wants to consume things, which Astro has a very hard time controlling.

Oh yeah and it can take over his mind at some points - again, due to the chaotic nature of the black fire, all it wants is to consume. And this is POWERFUL stuff.

This unfortunately gathers the attention of some elder ghost dudes, ((and i don't... exactly recall if i made them up or if they actually WERE from the Pariah Dark episode its been too long since ive seen that, but if I didn't make them up they're the ones that sealed Pariah Dark in that coffin thing)) but essentially they're like:

"Oh shit this well meaning kid is wielding one of the most deadly elements in the ghost zone, we have to seal him away just like we did Pariah Dark, otherwise the Black Fire will literally take over his mind".

Which i literally made a comic about but i won't be posting all of that in here LOLOL, it is wayyyyyy too cringy, but I'll post a few highlights.

I ALSO found a SYNOPSIS for the little comic i wrote which I will now transcribe:

Astro has been constantly possessed by an evil power- Black Fire - and it is slowly taking over his mind and body like it did Pariah Dark. The Keepers are now placing Astro in a sleeping prison like they did for Pariah, but as it turned out it was the greatest mistake they ever made... for sleep makes the body unprotected, and Black Fire can fully consume the person or ghost it resides in [uninhibited.]

So i'm not sure what happens next between this instance and the next part of the au, or if I scrapped this part and then changed things around BUT -

this Au can be promptly divided into 2 parts, the first part where Astro is a Halfa, and the second part where he becomes a full on Ghost.

O look costume change, now he has a full on cloak instead of a hoodie

Essentially the idea that as he becomes a full on 'ghost', the black fire energy is now tamed/more controllable because it is a part of his being as he was reborn, and not something that affected him.

however he is now the first ghost to ever be born with "Black Fire" (something that before always grew inside and consumed ghosts or people) so he is put into the care of Clockwork to help figure out and be properly taught how to control such a powerful ability.

1. Briefly Describe your OC: Appearance, personality, role in a story, etc..

okay so!! hana is half-japanese, half-german, she’s got short/spiky black hair and fucking Huge brown eyes. she’s the protagonist of a thus-unwritten pirate love story and i fucking love her. she’s superbly socially awkward (doesn’t get customs like politeness or like asking before doing things asdjkfl), she’s a Romantic romantic, she loves sword-fighting, she was raised by her father (alongside three older half-brothers, though she was chosen as the heir to his ship which hmm pissed two of them off), she’s very much butch/tomboy, she loves adventure and sailing so fucking much, uhhh yeah her.

2. Briefly describe their backstory/childhood

like i said, she was raised by her dad, who she idolizes, along with her three brothers on the sea; she never knew her mother, because her father told her that she died giving birth to hana (or did she….? hm. maybe hana’s dad is just shitty?). she was always super excited to play and go on adventures and fight, especially with her three older brothers (only one of whom actually like. liked her.), and by the time she was old enough to hold a sword, her dad taught her how to. eventually, her dad became ill, and named hana, who was only 16, his successor. her two eldest brothers planned a mutiny to overthrow her, killing the other brother who protested. hana fought them but they escaped with half her treasure, promising to come back and kill her, and she’s spent the past six years seeking them out to defeat them.

3. Describe their family life and friends.

i mean i pretty much nailed her family, but she’s very close to all the crew. i’ll give you a quick rundown: there’s caspian, her first mate/quartermaster (grew up on the ship with her, an orphan who was stolen in one of the raids, searching out his lost family but is also a big time goof), dover, her “advisor”/sailing master (wise, lazy, arrogant, bitchy, basically her pseudo-father because her father was usually off being captain), darya, her gunner (slutty bisexual aromantic queen, runs the artillery AND the under deck gambling ring, always drunk, loyal to a fault especially to hana), and zarya (we’ll get to her later ;)) and the other lower-ranking crew members.

4. What is the world they come from like?

hmmm very mystical and mysterious, very “pirates are bad and suck and we dont like them even though they’re not usually bad” but. you know. hana is still an outlaw of the land. there are mermaids and sirens and cracken and curses so it’s better to assume that if its magical it exists.

i have to imagine somewhere between paladin and a fighter, im not sure which.

i honestly think she would just. go into the nearest village and buy all the local hungry children bread. like she wouldn’t horde it or spend it on herself. she has everything she needs.

4. If they competed on a competitive TV show, how would they approach to winning? (the “mean” one, the one who makes friends, the one who’s there for fun)

hm… i honestly dont even think she would think about it like that dkdkflfl. probably the charming one, the leader, the adorkable one.

5. If they could change one thing about their past, what would it be?

i think she would choose to keep in contact with her mother. not necessarily live with her, because then she wouldnt have her first love which is the sea, but just like. talk to her. know her better. go see her every few months. write her from different ports about their adventures.

6. If you met them, what would they do?

i would honestly probably be so fucking charmed by her. shes got that way about her, a leadership quality you can’t shake, even if shes really incredibly awkward too.

i kind of imagine her in harry potter as like. this half blood gryffindor who’s So Gryffindor it hurts. on the quidditch team, always screaming about house pride, everyone loves her. and then she goes and falls in love with this muggle born slytherin and shakes the whole school dkdkkrklr

bad. comically bad. she tries to sing to zarya sometimes and zarya locks her out of their room.

putting her feet up on tables, walking into rooms without invitation, holing up in her cabin for days working, smirking instead of smiling, smoking, docking in random cities for the thrill of adventure, wearing her blouses nearly completely unbuttoned, just taking things and enforcing sharing bc. she’s always shared everything with everyone naturally and she doesnt know to ask djdkfkfk

honestly she’ll eat anything but just like. a Nice leg of mutton and a glass of beer. that’s it. that’s the dream.

her favorite activity is to randomly attack caspian and have impromptu sword fights with him, but she also loves stargazing and telling stories to the town children.

honestly she’s very. nuzzley. soft. like a little kitten. also waxes poetic. at least romantically. platonically, shes usually like a dad friend sjdkkrlr. like im talking “attaboy” and punches on the arm. pep talks. dad voice. the whole nine yards.

honestly, she’s not easily embarrassed ever. i think she’s kind of just like meh over most things. the most embarrassing thing that could happen would be losing the respect of her crew. she would hate that so much.

Need inspiration? I know i do thus.... Monthly challenges

Well, ive noticed that im at my most productive during october for inktober and december for the 12 days of christmas. I think when my brain is given a bit of structure and a deadline it starts to kick into gear. So ive decided to create an art challenge for every month of the year and see if i can stick to it. And im putting this out there incase any of my more artsy followers might want to do it themselves or pick out one months challenge that sounds fun to try. If yous do try i would love to see them, might help to motivate and inspire me.

Jot a world January

Basically come up with a concept for a world and/or its inhabitants. That might be creating a Tolkienesque map of the world, it could be writing a short story about it or even a bunch of notes in an ideas book. Maybe its illustrating an index of the characters or creatures in your world, or painting some of the landscapes. Either way it has to be a cohesive world. Minimum 6xA5 fully rendered pages. Or 2xA3 fully rendered or 1xA2 fully rendered. Or one small A5 sketchbook of sketches, story or notes.

Fic pic febuary

This isnt just fanart, oh no... this is fanart of fanfiction. Maybe its doing an animatic or comic strip of a scene or two of one of your favoirite fics. Maybe its drawing a couple of stills from a go to fic. Cant choose? Then do one still for number of different fics. You like big art? Then make one big peice! Minimum 6xA5, or 4xA4 or 2xA3, or1xA2/digital equivalent.

Well in this one the only rule is you have to use 5 different media on one page. It could be almost anything, crayons, pencil, paint, papier-mache, modeling paste, collage, felt, pastels, chalk. Hell you could use coffee, makeup, toilet roll, tinfoil, go out and stick some leaves in! Whatever works. Maybe you want to create a scene or a charcter, maybe you want to create abstract patterns have at it. 6xA5, or 3xA4, or 2xA3, or 1xA2

I admit it the only reason this is on here is because ive recently become adicted to stardew valley. Now thats out of the way this could be used to design your own farm where ever it may be whatever it might grow. Is the farm on mars? For this one you have to show a journey is it a journey of the self, is it an adventure of a group, is it a holiday? Maybe its a short story, a comic or a series of stills. 6xA5 or equivalent.

I know this has been done a billion times but i still think its cute. What or who dwells within your jars, is it aliens, a house, a planet a, a monster? Maybe its some potions or a fish or some interdimensional food products. What ever it is there need to be at least six of them, big or small.

Absurd abodes august

Ive recently got quite into isometric house/room concept designs on pintrest. I want to make some! Is it a witches hut or a multy story tree house maybe its a dungeon that houses a bunch of freindly skeletons. How absurd can you make your abode? 6xA5 or 1 xA3

Shiney september

Its time to make some shineys, use whatever shimery shit you got. You got metalic paints or gell pens? Do you have glittery goods? Maybe you havnt thats fine just use tin foil. Firstly, thank you so much for the compliments!!! I don’t know how useful exactly any advice I could give you will be, since most of it comes from drawing a lot and watching drawings even more, but in general to pick a pose usually what I do is think of the scene as if in movement? As in, what the characters are doing, and how they’d move if I were looking at them while doing it - keeping in mind the characters personalities helps me with this a lot too. 

Take for example the confessions drawings I’ve posted a couple of days ago: it’s true that there’s no words nor movement anywhere in them, but as I drew them I had a pretty clear idea of what they were saying and how the characters would react in those situations - Jirou’s shy and easily flustered, so she’s averting her eyes, unable to keep eye contact, and closing in on herself a bit, hiding her face and so on; in the concept, Kaminari was the one who confessed, so he’s holding her hand, tentative, because he’s unsure about how she’s gonna answer (it’s all stuff that didn’t actually make it in the drawing, how he reached for her hand, how he’s gonna close his other hand around her knuckles, but in my head it was a complete scene and I just picked one frame of it all to draw). The same goes for Bakugou and Kirishima - they’re rowdier, louder, more assertive and inclined to take everything as a fight, so this time around I went for a scene in which Bakugou straight out yells his feelings at Kirishima and Kirishima answers me too (again, I had the before and after in my head too, I just picked the frame that best coveyed what I was trying to do)

As I said I’m usure about how much this might help you orz it’s just my way of doing things, and it mostly comes from the fact that I was originally a writer honestly, so thinking of a whole scene makes things easier for me #rip

Well, this is just the feeling I got, but I’d say they do plenty for each other quietly and softly in canon too, don’t they? Bakugou especially, pointing out to Kirishima his strength when he can’t see it for himself and always trying to find a way to cheer him up when he’s down and giving him space when he needs it, training together, studying together, worrying over one another, Kiri making sure to always know what’s up with Bakugou and following him to help him, just generally being there for each other so that if and when they need they’ll know they’ll have someone they can lean on - their relationship is really mutually supportive, isn’t it? I cry so much they make me so happy ;^; *sob*

so around the time-ish when i was getting into skateboarding more i drew a girl that was a "witch" that rode a broom like a longboard/surfboard and yeah and she has a brother that can shapeshift into a cat

so in the shower i came up with some more stuff

for now i'll refer to everyone with placeholder names that may change later

Ana (protagonist: Freshman year of high school. That's...pretty much it. They're pretty foul-mouthed and tough. Likes cruising around. Really likes bomber jackets and cool hats.)

Bryan (older brother: out of college, works at family job. can shapeshift into a cat. he likes his cat form much more since he can go almost anywhere like that. not really into longboarding and prefers riding bikes or driving his car)

Colton (Father: Owns a barbershop. His family get a family discount; 65% off normal price. Other people may get 50% sometimes or on certain days like...Six Dollar Saturdays or somethin. does not apply to custom cuts. Tries to avoid his past. Don't talk about it.)

Diana (Mother: Lived a life of secrecy. Things were fine up until Ana was born, where she then left for some reason. i havent fully worked this out tbh. but anyways she was a bank teller and also had powers??? like psychic powers kinda)

i call it "Bitch" for now because in middle school my PE teacher (ripperoni), when someone wanted to play an explicit song, would say stuff like "witches with a B" instead of "Bitch" and thats the title for now. (but i'll refer to it as "Bitches" in the tags tho)

i didnt come up with much after that except for like... a not so tragic backstory. the mom left for unknown reasons (idk yet tbh) but it wasnt because of something bad like "oh i need to keep the child a secret" cuz come on Ana's brother can fuckin shapeshift what makes her so special? she can levitate. my oh my we gotta put her down Ana's a ufo

the barbershop was originally gonna be a psychic place (fortune tellers and all. There's a lot in my city actually. its kinda nice to see small stores imo, but ive never been to them tho) and the dad could put people to sleep, allowing them to go to some spirit world for a brief moment. kinda like Black Panther? except instead of wisdom the people can be reunited with loved ones and stuff.

alright think of it like this. theres plenty of other people doing this in the nation/world. so then two people do it (doesnt matter if its at the same time or not), for example a long distance couple, and they are able to see each other "physically". this also applies to the deceased, except of course the process doesn't apply to them. they exist more as a ball of light (unlike physical spirits on Earth) and float around the spirit world/realm, which is basically Earth but in darker colors kinda. like as if the earth were in a constant eclipse and the sky was dark purple.

while that idea of the father doing that may not happen, the spirit realm thing is a definite real thing in something i call the Doodleverse (i am shit at coming up with names lol) and just yeah. basically limbo. purgatory. then spirits can come to earth if summoned by an angel or devil

hmm mk is a bit of an anomaly for sure….even tho ive been sifting around webcomics for abt a decade now, i really only ever am keeping up w a handful and rarely actually pick up any new ones. i’m the same way w like, all other forms of media, like shows and music and stuff…its not like even me being all too critically picky, coz i can hardly ever convince myself to check out shit i know i do/will like. but anyways i suppose it was a couple yrs ago and me freezing my ass off in a barely-insulated terrible expensive apartment while dying of depression & it was the middle of the night & i wasnt tired, and sometimes i reread a comic coz i realize ive completely lost track of the plot or characters or something…so i was doing that and there was a guest comic by the artist for mk & i was like, well you know, thats cute and funny and i like how they draw, i’ll just put this in a separate tab and maybe come back to look at their comic for once in my life b/c its not like i hve anything better to do at like 4am. so i finished my reread and figured i’d check out at least a bit of mk & when it drops kip on you right off it took me like 2.5 pgs to he like “well so………he’s gay right? and a nerd?” and so then i was like, obviously i have to follow through on this Gay Lead. b/c i mean, you never really go into anything assuming that anybody will actually get to be Not Straight, no matter how obvious it seems b/c you can’t trust anyone. so even though its right there and makes no sense for him to be straight i was still like going along trying to keep my hopes down even tho there’s no other interpretation….even when the surprise came that he has a beautiful Ex Boyf & i had like a heart attack b/c that far along i was already like “woops i also love him” i was still like trying to come at it from some other angle like…… Maybe This Is Just… Um….. i dont remember but i was like ok but seriously this Has to be an ex right? i mean my god. anyway by that point i was also deeply invested in the fact that kip is v….v much many Char Types i love and xtreme relatable plus he’s flawless and deserves the best despite being doomed for the worst……. so anyways at that point it was like 7am & i was thrilled and yelling a bit about that sweet rare vindication of This Is All Gay Right and like gosh hope he gets kissed by like everybody…… and thats about how that went

oh god…… trying to find a sleeping position can be the worst a lot of the time. like, it changes up and i have to do the tossing and turning bit… sometimes its all huddled up and other times my body wants to be stretched out… im sabotaged by the whims of my body re its comfort tbh. like i’ll be fine in any position and then suddenly my limbs or hips or whatever decide they’re uncomfortable. the other week it was only sleeping on my stomach that was tolerable. i guess on avg i sleep on my side but theres no real standard position, i wish there was

phew i…honestly can rarely draw anything in a matter of less than hours. under 2 hours is shockingly rare. it depends on the day for sure, sometimes drawing comes more naturally, sometimes my focus is less terrible…. for a guess at whats average though, for like a usual drawing that i also add color to, i’d put it at maybe, 5-7 hrs? i’m awful at paying attention to when i start/stop something. and i have a lot of pauses in there b/c of the terrible focus bit. but usually i don’t do coloring thats too fancy so it only tends to add on a couple of hours to the lineart, which is helped along if i’m doing it digitally w how easy it is to erase stuff and not worry abt the sketch being too messy to clean up or whatever. sometimes i wish i could spend another eon on the coloring also, but you can spend just as much time on colors as the lineart and i like to do everything in one go too much for that really… plus just that i’m bad w colors and dont expect to ever be as good at them as with the lineart element of things. anyways tldr all you need to know is…i’m really slow :(

oh god snacks…. i love to eat anything really. i’ll make anything a snack or a meal or whatever. i like stuff like corn chips or just dry crackers… i like to eat cereal just plain… i’ll eat a box of corn chex any day. or a box of oreos probably in like one go. i am a fan of cookies and ice cream and everything. pretzel sticks are great too. fruit snacks are great… a few times ive just been in the mood to cut some like orange bell peppers into strips and eat that…carrots are amazing too… theres this cucumber/cream cheese dip that is…fantastic with chips. idk i like to eat most things

i actually used to tend to wait too long to get my haircut and put it off till it’d been like two months and was getting too long in the back and i hated it lol….. i know we’ve talked abt the Homophobia In The Salon how you have to try to wrangle the stylist into accepting that yes, you really want it that short, and keep them from trying to take it in their own direction. and i’m nervous enough w social stuff like that where i cant know what to say beforehand, and doubly nervous b/c of it being really stressful and exhausting for me to try to just like stick to what you actually want and explain this very simple cut to ppl who sometimes will act like they have no idea what you mean…and it would be triply difficult b/c back in the day i’d catch all this shit over having my hair as short as i wanted b/c my mom was having a whole internal shitstorm about me being a wholeass queer and so of course she was gonna flip out about how i look as if that will solve things for her. i always forget that i Was in fact abused for the ol “not seeming properly cishet” business. so the nervousness abt the haircut experience lingered!! but it helps that sometimes i’d find a really nice stylist who would be friendly and remember the general idea of the cut i liked, and i could stick with them and that was helpful. but for the past year i’ve really just been giving myself a continuous haircut myself w the occasional aid of a bathroom mirror, i’m not fancy. my Ideal Cut gradually got shorter and shorter over the years, w it now being maybe an inch and a half on top and shorter on the sides in that General Undercut format. i rly dont like much length on the back of the neck or by the ears lol…plus it doesnt help having glasses when your hair is getting too long. maybe it would be nice if i could someday dye it my favorite kind of blue, right. but in the meantime, as long as its short enough i’m good

The moon is still the moon in all of its phases. Just like she.

He stumbles upon her path, once, twice.He sees her alone on some days with purpose in her steps,other days, she has company, a smile, a life with no regrets.But she’s still who she is. Avis. The girl who thinks that they are similar because neither of them would entertain those who put on masks nor hang around those who play pretend and make believe

He stumbles upon her path and she doesn’t see.But he sees her. He sees sincerity, rarity. And then he remembers to breathe—Incredible, says he.

II.

His mind is wandering, thoughts drifting, shifting.The birds are calling, singing perhaps,but he’s distracted. Just slightly; momentarily.

“Birds are boring,” an ignorant child laments,and hanbyul responds with an unkind glare. “You are the boring one, go away,” he clicks his tongue.

Birds aren’t boring. Avis says they aren’t. And she shows it through the looks she gives them. And he wonders if the birds are able to breathe— he doesn’t know how to describe it,fascination, perhaps endearment or adoration, but he thinks he wouldn’t be able to if someone looked at him like that. He supposes it’s something he would never experience.

“Keep sketching your parrots, ignore the boy.” He tells her,because he wants her to keep doing the thing—The smiling thing.

III.

They are pretending to be deaf to avoid interactions with others‘twas a little idea of his that she decided to fan into a flame.But he had no complains for it was going well, as well as it could be with the basic signs she had taught himIt was going too well, perhaps, because someone else signed back.And for once, hanbyul was at a complete loss for words.

He doesn’t know what the lady is doing with her fingers;strange contortions and shapes flying through the air,he just stares at her, dumbfounded for once in his lifeas the sound of avis’ laughter filled the awkward silence

Eyes crinkled into crescents and lips pulled into a grin,He realised that she was laughing at him.He frowns, brows knitting together in thought as he waits,waits for the annoyance to come, for the prick of anger. Because hanbyul doesn’t like it when people laugh at him;it makes him feel six again, a time when people laughed at him for wanting to become a pirate simply because he loved the sea. But it doesn’t come. The irritation doesn’t.

And then he observes.

He doesn’t like it when others laugh at him. But Avis? Avis is okay. Maybe it’s because her laughter sounds nice. Or maybe… hold on. There’re two voices now. Oh. It’s okay because she’s laughing with him.

IV.

He dreams of a girl and a boy, aged five and six. She’s looking at the birds and he, building ships. He spies a feather, seafoam green and brilliant blue,and he crosses the field to retrieve the abandoned prize before presenting it to her, heart expectant, smile wide.

“It’s a peacock feather,” she tells him when she lays eyes on it. And he nods, not because he knows what a peacock is, but because she’s delighted to see it, to see his gift. He doesn’t give it to her as yet, but he reaches across and tangles it in her hair— “You can be a pirate on my ship!” The girl rolls her eyes but complies with his fantasies because he’d promised to watch birds with her after crossing the seas

The images fade, and the last he remembers is of the girl; she had somehow taken on the role of a flying dinosaur. Battling with the young pirate, her beautiful feather was the prize. And Hanbyul wakes.

The boy never dreams. But when he does, it’s either of terrors or magic.

“—And I said couples thing. I didn’t mean to imply I thought this was more than what it was and oh god, I’m just going to go and bang my face on the ice now, okay!?”

And then he watches her fall with minimal grace, a strained cry leaving her lips; an added layer of tragedy to the faint black streaks she has running down her cheeks. It was comical to say the least because Avis had prophesied her fall just seconds before it happened. Hanbyul was mildly impressed. But he imagines her wrists must be aching, maybe even bruised from cushioning herself from the fall, and so he skates over quietly and crouches down beside her.

“Are you alright?” he asks, softly, because he imagines she is already drowning under a wave of self-reproach. And he waits for her to tilt her head, to look up at him despite the ruined make up and flushed cheeks. Hanbyul usually manages to divorce himself from feelings, he manages to stay in control. But that night, his usually expressionless countenance fractures to reveal a soft snicker and a string of laughter that he veils with the back of his glove. And he laughs till he’s breathless, laughs until he feels a strange warmth blooming in his chest, a warmth that he knows no coat could provide. “I have no idea what compelled you to do just that, but Avis, you are brilliant,” he reports, breath turning into white clouds between them as he attempted to calm his amusement. “You literally took my breath away.”

Hanbyul realises in hindsight that the words he’d said could hold multiple meanings. He needed to make things clear, didn’t he? Skates returned, he shuffles back through the snow to where Avis was waiting, leaning against the fence with hundreds of others, her gaze turned heavenward, fingers clasped together in anticipation. “Avis?” he begins, and this time, he never got very far for a whistle was heard as a single spark raced towards the midnight sky. Hanbyul flinched when the spark ignited and exploded into a hundred different directions, smearing the sky with colours in its wake.

“It’s breath-taking,” he hears someone say. And then he pulls his gaze from the multi-coloured sky and rests it on his companion instead. He remembers the way she looks at birds— with awe and admiration— and she held a similar look now. It meant that she was happy. And it doesn’t take him long to realise that sometimes it was okay to speak carelessly; it was okay that words had multiple meanings and he’d meant all of them even in hindsight. “Avis? What I had said earlier, I meant it both ways.” You take my breath away.

This is a about the 2nd youngest lightwood who feels like they’re being ignored. Its just a bit long. Sorry not sorry. Hope you enjoy.

Ever since I was born i’ve been in someone else’s shadow. Im (Y/N) Lightwood. Im 3 years younger than Alec, 2 years younger than Izzy and Jace and 5 years older than Max. Since im not the youngest Mum and Dad don't pay me as much attention as Max needs but im also not old enough to make my own decisions or go on solo missions (according to my older siblings anyway.). Now that Clary, Simon and Magnus are here its worse.

I always loved sketching but im not that good at it (in my/your opinion anyway) and don't really show it off. One day at the institute we were all sitting in a spare room we (mainly me/you) had converted to a mundane style living room. I was sitting on the floor (there were no seats left) and Clary noticed me drawing and looked over my shoulder to see. “Oh cute! You draw too, let me see.” she said not giving me time to stop her before she had already took my sketch book. She started flicking through and my siblings all looked through it as well. “Your good for your age.” Clary smiled. She meant it as a compliment but it made me feel small, like a child. I snatched it out her hands muttering a “Thanks” “Hey why dosent Clary give you lessons (Y/N)?” Jace suggested. “Yeah totally!” Clary said. I just smiled and nodded before excusing myself to go the bathroom. Instead I went to my secret spot  in the institute.

I was always one upped by someone else. Its so annoying. Anything I like or do someone else does better. I play (Your fav instrument) and Simon's in a band. I like make up but Magnus is a god at it. Jace, well Jace is quite literality the best shadow hunter of his age, so no matter how good I get at (your fav weapon) he’s the best over all. Since Izzy's so beautiful I try to style my outfits to live up to my siblings but she's always jaw dropping with boys fawning over her. And Alec is the leader. Its kind of understandable because he's the oldest but he's always painted as the responsible one no matter how sensible I try to be.

I cant even use the fact im younger as an advantage because max is 5 years younger than me. And he likes reading (manga but it counts) so im not the reader, he is. Yesterday I had finnaly convinced Mum to let me go on a solo mission and Alec crashed it. I had got into gear and was going to get my (your fav weapon) and 2 seraph blades from the weapons rack when I saw Alec ruining his arrows. “Hey” I said grabbing my weapon. He nodded his head. As I was reaching for a Seraph blade I asked “Are you going on a solo mission or something?” slightly confused because Jace had told me they were having a day off and that's why I got the mission. “No, im going with you.” He said putting his quiver over his shoulder. “Eh no your not,” I laughed slightly. “Its just a small mission so Mum said I could fly solo.” I went to walk out but he followed. “Tough luck. You never know how big a mission is until you get there” I stopped now we were just out of the doors. “No Alec, its just to kill a few imps that are gathering round a mundie school” I said rolling my eyes and walking away. “They're still dangerous if there's a lot of them.” He pointed out. “Only if they are a swarm of at least two hundred. But they only reported twenty of them.” I said frustrated. “You never now.” By the angel this is annoying. I just stayed quiet and went along with it. We did the mission in under half an hour and were heading back to the institute.

I had went on a couple of group missions with the gang and now it was approaching my birthday. Not approaching, it was today. No one had said anything and it was going to be dinner time in an hour. My older siblings went out on a mission this morning but still weren't back. Mum and Dad had to go back to Idris for something, but wouldn't tell me, and had taken Max. I was training when I decided to find out if they would want me to make dinner for them or not. (I cooked but not as good as mum so no one really noticed.)

Hey Sis, do you want me to save some of my b-day dinner for you guys or no?

I added the bit about my birthday to make sure they remembered. About 10 minuites later she finnaly texted back. No. Come down to Taki’s and have dinner with us I sighed. I had already cooked dinner for everyone and now woldnt get to eat it.

K. When? She told me now so I put the (favorite food) in a container with a note saying not to eat it and left.

By the time I got there they had already ordered and had gotten me a cheese burger and fries. They had pushed two tables together. One of four and one of two with a chair stuck on the end. Guess that ones for me. “Hey guys,” It was Simon, Clary and Jace on one side with Jace beside me. On the other side was Izzy, Alec and Magnus on the other with Magnus next to me. “Hey (Annoying Nickname)” Simon grinned at me as I sat down. I just grimmaced as the others laughed. “Happy Birthday,” Clary said reaching under the table to grab a plastic bag. “we got you some stuff. I didn't wrap it though cause I suck at it.” she grinned, passing me the bag. Inside was a sketch book, coloured pencils and normal pencils. “Now Clary can give you lessons with decent stuff,” Jace said, proudly “I got you a new seraph blade but its back at the institute.” of course the best shadow hunter got you a weapon. “Max told me you like to read so here.” Simon passed me a couple comics and I thanked him, not pointing out it was Max into comics and mangas. “I got you some new clubbing clothes but their back at the institute.” Alec frowned at the idea of you in clubbing clothes and I was slightly scared of seeing them but said cool none the less. “You will not be going clubbing anytime soon.” Alec gave me a pointed look I just rolled my eyes while Magnus muttered something about teenage angst. The he snapped his fingers and a box appeared in his hands. It was beautiful wrapped. “This is how a gift should be presented,” he looked around the table, eyes settling on Clary before handing me the box. “They're you go kitten” I tried to smile but that nickname. The others sniggered as I opened the box. Inside was a bunch of eyeliners, eye shadows and lipsticks. All bright. Mostly glittery. They had all gotten me the things they liked. “Thanks” I said putting it on the ground next to my chair with my other presents. We started eating and I zoned out. I couldn't help but think about how they had all gotten me something they liked. Clary with art. Jace, a weapon. Simon, comics. Izzy, clothes probably showing way to much skin. Magnus, glittery and bold make-up. And Alec, nothing at all. Same with mum and dad. I sound so spoiled thinking about it but I couldn't help it. They didn't ask what I wanted, or gave me stuff I would actually wanted. They didn't invite me out to dinner before I asked. They hadn't talked to me all day and had told me to meet them for food I didn't like that much instead of eating the food I made at home as a family. “Hey (Y/N/N), what you thinking about.” Alec said snapping me from my thoughts. I just muttered “nothing” not looking up, knowing they had all stopped talking to look at me. “It dosent look like nothing,” Izzy said looking at me questioningly. “You could break the fork with that grip.” I looked down and noticed I had grabbed the fork by the handle and was squeezing as hard as I could. I dropped the fork and noticed there was a small cut because of how tight I had been holding it. “(Y/N) what's wrong?” Clary asked. I snapped. “You!” she recoiled looking like she was about to cry. “All of you! You got me the things you liked for my birthday! I was alone all day at home. I made a special dinner and even a cake because I didn't think any of you were going to come home for a while. Im always in your shadows and the back of your minds that you just don't care! You refuse to call the institute home and you treat me like im a child and im sick of it!” I realised my voice had risen and that people were starting to look. I could feel me eyes tearing up and I wanted to get out of there. I scrapped my chair back and ran out.

I went straight home and to my secret place. It was an old abandon room on the highest floor. To get to it you had to go through a hatch in the cupboard of our mundie style living room, and climb up a ladder 2 stories high. I had snuck blankets and pillows up and had made a little set up in one of the corners. I had figured out a way to run electricity up here and fixed the over head light even though I mainly used the fairy lights in the corner. It was basically a blanket fort in the corner. I stored some of my private stuff up here and would play my (your instrument). I also could train up her without  others seeing. Laying down face forward on my makeshift bed while my phone was blaring. I checked and saw that they were asking were I was. They thought I went back to the institute and now they couldn't find me. I debated telling them were my hiding spot was so I just texted Alec back saying, My secret place

3rd pov Alec was in the ‘mundie living room’ as he and his siblings always said to annoy (Y/N) when he saw his phone dinged and that (Y/N) had texted him. He immediately shouted on the guys saying to come over. They all looked at his phone. “What do you think she means?” Jace asked looking confused. “Yeah ive never heard of a secret place.” Izzy said looking round the four. Magnus and Simon had went home deciding it would just cause a scene with two downworlders running round the institute but had said they would look around before going home. “I think that's why it says secret Izzy.” Clary said receiving a scowl from the Lightwood girl. “Well as she said we don't really talk to her a lot.” Alec said taking his phone back from Jace. “Don't say tha-” “Its true,” Alec cut his parabatai off “we are always concerned with something else or with her safety that we never actually talk to as friends.” (Y/N) had climbed down the ladder to were the trap door to the closet was and had put on a hearing rune. She was happy to finnaly see one them noticing. She decided to let one of them in.

Go into the closet. Don't tell the others and don't talk.

‘Weird’ Alec thought but none the less complied. “Guys maybe you should go check around the institute” he suggested. The rest nodded and they all left the room and split up. 10 seconds later he came back in and opened the closet and went inside, closing the door behind him. He looked up confused and saw a opened trap door and ladder. He then saw how the boxes under the trap door so that someone shorter could reach the ladder. He didn't need the boxes so instead just started climbing.

(Y/N) pov I had just sat back down in my makeshift bed when I heard Alec starting to climb. The rune started fading off so I just laid back thinking if im going to regret this. After about 2 minutes Alec arrived and climbed out. He looked around before finnaly seeing me lying on my stomach looking over at him. He walked over and sat down beside me. He wasn't looking at me but instead my secret place. Obviously there was the blanket fort but at one side of the room was a training set up and in another corner some shelves that were up here when I found it that I had used for storage. He also noticed how I had an old, small mundie TV set up with a stack of VHS tapes that I had got from a charity shop. “So this is your secret place? Not bad.” he said finally looking at me. “Thanks. Its not much but its mine.” He frowned slightly at that. I laid my head in my arms and looked up at him. “You can lie down in my fortress, if you take your shoes off. Get it dirty and I'll kill you.” I looked at him seriously and he just rolled his eyes and smiled before taking his boots and jacket off. He laid down on his front next to me but had to bend his legs to fit him all in. I started laughing at him. “You’re like a spaghetti noodle.” I said between laughs and he started laughing too. We got quiet and then he started talking. “Why do you have a secret place? Do you not like hanging out with us?” I sighed. “I do its just that…. You guys steal all my things and do them better.” I huffed making Alec look at me confused. “Not actual things. I mean how I would sketch and then Clary came in like Van Gogh and suddenly I need lessons on something I do for fun. And Izzy is the stylish one, Jace is the best fighter, Magnus is the best at make up, Simon is the musical one even though I play (Your instrument). Then Max is the one who like to read and your the dull, sensible one.” “Thanks!” Alec rolled his eyes. “Everything I do someone else is doing better. Even cooking and Izzy’s my sister.” I laid my face into the blankets. “Yeah but Mum is the one everyone thinks is the best.” Alec laid down flat on his back next to me and took my hand, holding it. “but you are one who’s good at a lot of things. You might not be the best at everything but you must be the best at something.” “Like what?” I said muffled through blankets, tears starting to slip. “Like (your favourite hobby) and (what your good at). None of us are good at everything but you know how to do a lot. Hell you've made this den and its awesome. None of us have one. And you make the institute feel like a home, even with your ‘mundie living room’.” I turned my head towards him. “How come you never call the institute home?” “I don't know,” he wiped the couple of tears on my face away. “Im just used to calling it the institute.”  he looked down at his phone before saying, “Can I text the others? Not to tell them where we are” he added noticing my worried expression, “Just so they know your safe. Ok?” “Yeah sure.” He texted them before asking “Were did you even get half this stuff? And how do you have electricity?” I laughed at his confusion. “When you guys leave me out on missions I go out to the mundie shops. I got most of it from second hand shops. The tapes, blankets and some of the pillows are from there. I wash them first.” I added seeing his disgust. “the TV's from some yard sale. The shelves were already here and the some of the training stuff. Everything else was from around the institute mainly. Or maybe a normal mundane shop.” “How could you afford it? And what about the power?” “Well for to begin with it was the money I had saved that Mum and Dad gave me. Then I realised you guys didn't rely seem to check your money or use it much so sometimes I ‘borrowed’ some.” “(Y/N)! Thats stealing! From your own family.” He exclaimed. “Well you never seemed to notice or care.” I said rolling my eyes. “Whatever. But who did you get to set up the lights and TV?” he asked looking at the TV with a confused face. “I did.” he looked shocked, “It was rely quite simple. Just had to go on the system and send some power up here. The I ran some cable over her so I could plug in the fairy lights and TV. Don't know how to get normal TV but that's what the tapes are for.” “Im impressed.” he picked up the top tape and looked at me. “(Favourite Disney movie), what's that?” “Lets just watch it. Ok?” he just shrugged and layed down. I put the movie in and lifted up a blanket at the back of the fort revealing a pile of snacks. I threw out a bag of popcorn and some other sweets and chocolate before turning to Alec and saying, “these I stole from the kitchen.” “Now that I can get on board with.”

We watched the movie and a few others before falling asleep up in my secret place. From then on it was mine and Alec’s secret place and at least once a week we would stay up there and watch old VHS tapes. He ended up buying more videos and looking how to get mundie TV up there. He also gave me my present when we woke up in the morning, having realised we had fallen asleep, he had got me a mundane laptop. It turned out to be quite useful as we could watch Netflix on it. But we still liked to use the tapes too.  We were thinking about telling the others about it but we didn't. It was our secret fortress and no one would break in.

eight week progress.

over eight weeks i have made opportunities for myself to progress in my art both professionally and with personal goals. as you’ll see below ive made an effort over this time frame to work on commissions and get some promotional work produced to bring attraction to my work.

week one.

as an entry for walsall’s creative festival promotional material competition, i produced a fun drawing to represent the celebration of hell and the afterlife. i wanted this to show that hell cant really be that bad considering everybody sins and would end up in hell for the smallest of things, and that there might be a sick party down there rather than punishment. the drawing got featured on the event’s instagram page, which brought some attraction to my personal instagram.

week two.

i started a collaboration with a photography student to show an audience how litter affects wildlife. above is an example of one of the four designs created, and all designs were used for the audience to colour in. this work was recommended to me by my tutor, and i’m glad that i got to collaborate and show off my line art skills to a new audience.

week three.

in preparation for my class’ pop up exhibition i had created this poster to stick up at the event and to email to the rest of my college. it was good to experiment with promotional material and find ways to advertise my work with different fonts and layout ideas.

week four.

i focused on my personal goal this week to create new concepts for a comic i am working on in colour, and feel like ive improved already and found a better colouring style than seen in my previous work. although its not really been promoted i am excited to finish the comic and spread news about it across my social media.

week five.

to try and advertise my work i got a box of business cards printed showcasing a couple of my designs and giving my contact details to potential clients. i’m incredibly happy with how they have turned out and have given them to basically everybody i know to pass along to their friends.

week six & seven.

i started a commission for a new client who wanted designs made to show his interest in music and producing. although this project took two weeks i am pleased with how the work looked in the end considering there were a lot of experiments in designs and mock up sketches. i’m also happy with how i communicated with the client and how the commission process in paying was short and simple.

week eight.

in the last week i focused on portrait work and how to improve drawing digitally in black and white. this helped my observation skills a lot and improved my ability to focus on smaller details while looking at a reference. the drawing was a gift for my grandma whos birthday is soon, and i got the image printed onto a canvas for her to display at her home.
