I was tagged by @lecinea So I’ve been going through a bit of a kpop phase lately (how dare you call me out like this!), in these crazy times I generally try to avoid songs that may have a depressing effect on me so they’re all on the happy side imo
5 songs that i’ve been listening to lately:
1. SHINee - Like a Fire (Tai, this one is on you (also I love it a lot, thanks)) 2. BTS - Life Goes On (I would never in a million years have expected BTS to be a group that would be able to make me completely chill, but here we are) 3. Taemin - Pansy  4. Kobra and the Lotus - Triggerpulse (my ultimate feelgood song. this one gives me so much strength to do anything) 5. Wardruna - Lyfjaberg (the video, the music, the everything, just *chef’s kiss*) and 10 songs that come on shuffle: (I don’t have a single list with all the songs that I listen because spotify is being a bitch about it. so I just shuffled my daily mixes) 1. Eivor - Petti Fyri Petti 2. Eluveitie - Rebirth 3. SHINee - Kind 4. James Horner - Freedom / The Execution Bannockburn (Braveheart soundtrack) 5. Nan - Mountain Wind 6. Trevor Morris - Escape from the Fade (da:i soundtrack) 7. Faun - Iyansa 8. Grai - Song of Dead Water 9. BTS - Stay 10. 雪沉乐队 - 乌木 (I have no idea what is written here, youtube tells me the band name translates to Snowsedim. It’s Chinese folk metal and it is awesome)
In short, my list is a complete mess lmao, but I personally enjoy listening to it and that’s what it is all about.
Tagging: @pekkalastrega, @goldentailedmermaids, @witchesallofthem, @blackbetha

Death Goddes Club!
...plus Osiris, who is the only guy, and Iyansa/Oya, because I realised too late that I had chosen the wrong Orisha to draw. Also, a few are missing, because I had no more space to draw the others.   Clockwise, from the top: Hel (Queen of Hel and Niflheim), Persephone (Queen of Hades), Ereshkigal (Queen of Kur/Irkalla), Mictecacihuatl (Queen of Mictlan), Izanami (Queen of Yomi), Tuonetar (Queen of Tuonela), Nirriti (Goddess of Deathly Realms and Sorrow), Giltine (Lithuanian Death Goddess), Mania (Queen of the Etruscan Underworld), Osiris (King of Duat), Oya (Orisha of violent storms and the Niger river, associated with death - again, it's the wrong Orisha!) and Hine-nui-te-po (Goddess of Night and Death). What they're doing? Pretending to play a card game, while they actually chat and giggle.
Persephone: "...And that's the story of how I got it on with my uncle Hades. And it was awesome!" Hel: "...On one hand the incest thing makes it kinda gross, on the other hand this was a really nice story!" Hine-nui-te-po: "At least he didn't lie to her and pretend to be someone else." Mictecacihuatl: "And what about you, Hel? Have you been meeting people lately?" Hel: "Naw, not really. Except that there is this really, really cute Aesir in my domain now and he's so fricken adorable, so innocent, beautiful and the gentlest guy I have ever met! Maybe you know him - it's Baldr Odinnson." Persephone: "Oh, I actually do know him. A real gentleman, but a bit too cutesy for my liking. Then again, that's what you're into, isn't it, Hel?" ;) Hel: *blushes* Osiris: "Wait, so Baldr is dead? Oh dear - I would ask you to give him my condolences, but he's is probably glad to be dead." Izanami: "Why would anyone be glad to be dead? No offense, Hel..." Hel: "None taken." Izanami: "But who would prefer the gloomy underworld over life?" Nirriti: "Sometimes people's life is so hard and difficult, that they embrace death as a release, because they want their suffering to end. If someone is glad to be dead that says a lot about his soul life. Is this Baldr glad to be dead?" Hel: "He is. In fact, he doesn't even want to go back to Asgard. But in a few days his brother will come and ask me to let him go." Osiris: "Raising the dead? That would be against the cosmic order!" Hel: "I know, but try to explain that to these stupid Aesir!" Persephone: "How will you handle it?" Hel: "I will think of something. I'm Loki's daughter after all. And if I got something from my father, it's the quick thinking." Ereshkigal: "We have faith in you, gal! So, Mic, how is it going in Mexico?" Mictecacihuatl: "Oh, a few days ago we had Dios de los Muertes, my special day, and I wanted to go and take a shower, you know, make myself fresh and stuff, and before me Tonatiuh was being a bitch to my husband Mic, about how long he was taking in the shower and stuff." Tuonetar: "Aww, your husband got all pampared up for your special day?" Mictecachuatl: "He did! And stood up to the sun for me! And I was like: Awww, Mic, look at you getting all fancy and clean for my special week! And then I helped him to get all nice and clean for my special celebration!" ^^ Hel: "Aww, aren't you two the cutest couple of death deities there ever was?" Tuonetar: "Not as cute as Tuoni and I!" Persephone: "Hah! Hades and I are cuter than you two!" Osiris: "Ladies! Let's not get into an argument over whose marriage is the cutest!" ^^; Ereshkigal: "That's way too relative anyway. Also, it's unfair to those of us, who aren't married." Hine-nui-te-po: "Oh, it's okay." Giltine: "Yeah, we're good." Persephone: "Mania, you haven't said anything yet. How are things going in Italy?" Mania: "Oh, everything is fine, just my husband getting drunk and setting himself on fire. The usual shenanigans." Persephone: "Uhhh...okay." O_O

Dearly Beloved, we gather here on these mean streets; streets paved with red blood. We gather here on these mean streets; streets paved with black gold. We gather here on these mean streets, streets paved with dis-ease. We gather here on these mean streets, to combat racism. We gather here on these mean streets, to acknowledge Black joy. We gather here on these mean streets, to celebrate BLACK LIFE! Our ancestors decree it. Our spiritual guides anoint it. With winds, rain, and thunder. Mojuba Ori, Mojuba Egun, Mojuba Esu, Mojuba Oya! Heku Oya Iyansa Epa Omo Oya! Mojuba Sango! Kabeyesi Sango! Epa! We thank you for your blessings. We thank you for acknowledging the injustices we have endured and the cleansing winds and waters that you bring. We recognize that creation and destruction are a never-ending dance that allows for growth and alignment with our real purpose in life. We acknowledge when you come to tear us down; you are lifting us to greater heights and awareness. When Oya rides to battle, she comes with the fierceness of a conviction to dismantle what Sango has weighed and measured inside truth and justice. There will be those who will attempt to negate and destroy you from within and from without, ride powerfully, stand powerfully on these mean streets and make them your own. Let your love guide you, allowing the waters to strip away the negativity that wishes to latch onto your soul. We will rise, our words will reverberate as loud as thunder, our energy will intensify like lightning, guiding those to truth and compassion. Please and blessings. ( I’d rather watch my KINGDOM FALL ) - A Captive Prince fanmade soundtrack
01. Main Theme (Kingdom Fall - Claire Wyndham) 02. A million miles from home I met a cast-iron frigid bitch (Iron - Woodkid) 03. Coupling fires & Damen decided he liked the hakesh (Iyansa - Faun) 04. Rooftops (Follow - Crystal Fighters) 05. The first spark of a new feeling / You can call me by my given name (Nothing else to do - Nadine Shah) 06. My uncle boykiller / “I’m sorry, Jord” (Light of the Seven [Piano Cover] - Akmigone) 07. Nightfall at Marlas, a slender figure in the grass (Uninvited - Alanis Morissette) 08. Don’t think (Navigate - Band of Skulls) 09. There is a palace in Ios (The Loved Ones - Sanders Bohlke) 10. First time entertaining a lover (Black Mambo - Glass Animals) 11. A final exchange / “Please” (Leave my body - Florence+The Machine) 12. Bells (Young & Beautiful Hotel Sayre Vers. - Lana Del Rey)
I tried to put some tracks together which are always stuck in my head when reading certain scenes, like a soundtrack for a book instead of a regular fanmix. So, some songs will only make sense in combination with the scene! What scenes? You can probably guess them by the titles (they’re chronological)! Best to be enjoyed in the flickering candle-light.

Today I celebrate my momma 👑 #Oya 🎉. Today, I allow her #spirit to flow thru this shell and live as if she still walks this plane. Today, I shall lay some of her favorite foods down and give praise to she that walks with me. Today, her & I are one as is everyday... but today, today is special. . Maferefun Oya , thank you for walking with me in this 🌎 . Oya is the ruler of storms and the winds, the protector of cemeteries and the patroness of the marketplace. This fierce warrior can summon a gentle breeze or a devastating hurricane, depending on her mood. She is a lover of nature and is the goddess of the Niger River in Africa. The tornado is her weapon of choice, but she can also be found wielding a machete next to her husband, Shango. Oya is a force to be reckoned with, as she has the ability to summon armies of the dead to protect her in battle. She watches over cemeteries, guarding the dead with one foot in the world of the living and one in the world of the deceased. Oya is deeply connected to those who have passed over and she is said to guide those who have died through the cemetery gates to their eternal resting place. While she is known for her passion and strength, she exudes unwavering compassion for all of our ancestors. A shrewd businesswoman, Oya oversees the transactions that take place in the markets looking out for swindlers and con artists. Her eye is keen and she is not one to be fooled. Honesty and integrity are of great importance to Oya and she will punish those who betray her. Oya is linked to the Catholic saint, St. Theresa. Her feast day is February 2nd and her number is 9. The symbols associated with Oya are the lightning bolt, the machete, masks and gravestones. The animals connected to Oya are deer, bats, birds, insects and water buffalo. . We give honor to Oya, the Mother of Nine. May the winds of earth and the winds of heaven Bring me blessings and long life. Queen #Solange
There is power in expressing our truths. Getting them off our chests. And shaking our all intense energies through our natural rhythms.
The mother of 9, Iyansa, teaches us to give thanks for the winds as they are agents of change, and are the very breath that we breathe...
Flow is freedom. Freedom is #UnbridledBlackJoy

It’s time we learn the power of our mother in her dances. We spent just a few hours with our fabulous friend Cynthia @ladylorenew who has studied Orisha dance, singing, drums, music everythang. She’s just a fabulous multidisciplinary artist who videotaped us. In the few hours we spent together we really got a lot o information to mull over. Like how does a Queen enter into the room/space? What does it feel like to embody that? Oya is far seeing, how would she gaze at you? How would she stand? The angle of her head? What does power feel like from your feet to the top of your head? Whew, And the intricacies of each movement that are not difficult just a matter of practice. We are so grateful we had this movement date and we are so excited to further develop our Orisha dancing and singing. More importantly we can’t wait to dance for Oya. "Like most poor people in the United States, I have no voice. The Black press and the progressive media, as well as Black civil rights organizations, have historically played an essential role in the struggle for social justice. We should continue and expand that tradition. We should create media outlets that help to educate our people and our children, and not annihilate their minds. I am only one woman. I own no TV stations or radio stations or newspapers. But I believe that people need to be educated as to what is going on and to understand the connection between the news media and the instruments of repression in America. All I have are my voice, my spirit and the will to tell the truth. But I sincerely ask those of you in the Black media, t hose of you in the progressive media and those of you who believe in truth and freedom to publish my story.' -Assata Shakur
the eyes of the rainbow | ASSATA SHAKUR and OYA  An English language documentary  by the independent video group Imagines del Caribe Gloria Rolando, Director: Havana, Cuba Video, color, 47 min, 1997 Director of Photography: Raul Rodriguez, Jose M. Riera Script and Director: Gloria Rolando Assistant Director: Tony Romero "Eyes of the Rainbow" deals with the life of Assata Shakur, the Black Panther and Black Liberation Army leader who escaped from prison and was given political asylum in Cuba, where she has lived for close to 15 years. In it we visit with Assata in Havana and she tells us about her history and her life in Cuba. This film is also about Assata's AfroCuban context, including the Yoruba Orisha Oya, goddess of the ancestors, of war, of the cemetery and of the rainbow.
Gloria Rolando on "Eyes of the Rainbow":  "In the struggle of the African American people, many women's voices in the past and the present have always called for social justice, women who throughout the years have shown integrity and firmness in their principles. For this reason, "The Eyes of the Rainbow" is dedicated to all women who struggle for a better world.  One of those voices that already forms a part of the history of the African American people is that of Assata Shakur. In the documentary "The Eyes of the Rainbow," she recounts aspects of her path as relentless warrior. We are able to create a meeting with Assata Shakur through the symbols of AfroCuban culture, which offer us beautiful songs evoking the ancestors.  Representations of the Yoruba warrior orishas such as Oya and Ochosi support the discourse of this story, which also has its moments of poetry and tenderness as in the dance of Oshun, through which is illustrated Assata's decision to become mother while still in prison.  The blues interpreted by Junius Williams and his "Magic Harp," the songs of Sweet Honey in the Rocks, and the Cuban group "Vocal Baobab" give a special stamp to this valiant testimony which defines the spirit of struggle in the African American woman."
Special performances:
* Grupo Vocal Baobab * Sweet Honey in the Rock * Danza Nacional de Cuba * Junius Williams and the Magic Harp
