For some reason I’ve seen that, when saying what they’ve learned from dungeon meshi for their actual lives, people always overlook what you can learn from Izutsumi so they can make the izutsumi: izutsumi joke. But honestly I think she’s the one I’ve learned the most from.

I really like her message of “to accomplish things in life, sometimes you have to do things that you would rather avoid”. And she’s also helped me be less of a picky eater and get out of my comfort zone more lol I think it’s a nice message

Like for example I really like this thing Marcille says to her:

Its weird that Izutsumi is, by the rules of the world she lives in, an adult. Tall-men become adults at 16, and she is 17.

BUT it highlights that tall-men mature at the the same rate as humans irl because Izutsumi is so painfully, clearly, a teenager and is treated as a kid by the rest of the party.

This is extra interesting because it seems that all races reach adulthood at their equivalent of 16... and if they're the same maturity as 16 year olds irl, that has implications...

Chilchuck was getting married, and having babies at what we can assume was 15 year old irl maturity. He mentions that he's worried about Puckpatti not taking life seriously... sir, she is 14, aka 16 year old maturity, OF COURSE SHE ISN'T!
