please stop posting all the tint J2 theories in the actors tags. can you pleas use the #J2 and #J2tinhat tags, not supernatural are the actors tags. thank you
With all the love in my heart, I must decline.
J2 means Jared and Jensen, which means the most logical thing to do is post my thoughts ON THE ACTORS under their tags.
Why would I post things ABOUT THE ACTORS under anything else? If anything, why wouldn't I use the tags?
I think it would be weird if I posted something about Jensen and Jared under #ChrisEvans.
Anyway, happy new year!

CHICON 2007 - "Enhanced Edition" of Jensen's Solo Panel
youtube
Direct link.
Here’s my next “Enhanced Edition” video from the CHICON 2007 event. This was Jensen’s solo panel, so it’s mostly just Jensen, but I included Jared and J2 in the tags because Jared shows up at the end to give Jensen some shoulder squeezes and kick him off the stage, plus there’s a funny and sweet moment in the middle where Jensen talks about his relationship with Jared.
Just like with the J2 Breakfast video I posted a couple weeks ago, the original source videos aren’t my own. Credit and links to the originals are provided in the YouTube video description. However, I spent hours (and hours and hours) adding enhancements: 1. Slight upscaling of original videos to make them easier on the eyes.
2. Additional content to clarify or refresh people's memory about references so people can better appreciate what they’re talking about. It’s mostly displayed to the side, so my hope is that it's easy to ignore if it isn’t of interest.
3. Good, color-coded English subtitles that can be turned on through YouTube’s CC button to aid in understanding the sometimes chaotic audio.
4. For this panel, the source videos had some missing sections and I couldn’t find any other videos to fill those gaps. I personally hate it when there’s a gap and I don’t know what I’ve missed, so I added some still images at those points with text to explain a little bit about what was missed.  The video description has a link to my source for that info.
If you think this is worth sharing with other people, I’d be hugely grateful if you shared it wherever you think it might be appreciated. I don’t have much of a social media presence, so not many people will see it on my own blog.
Let me know if you catch any errors in the subtitles. They’re a separate file from the video, so I can upload a corrected file pretty easily. I changed Jensen’s subtitle color to a lighter blue that I think is easier to read, and I also updated the Breakfast video subtitles to use the same color.  The next video I post will be the solo Jared panel, followed by the J2 panel to complete the CHICON 2007 set. (I'm focusing primarily on Jared and Jensen for now.)

Since the discourse came up repeatedly in different ways and regarding different tags lately, let me say this:
I tag explicit J2 tinhat content as J2 tinhat and nothing else. I tag J2 shenanigans that could be seen tinhatty or not as J2 and J2 tinhat.
Alas, I tag explicit wincest as #wincest and wincest fic or wincest art or whatever applies but nothing else.
I do not tag general, non-explicit brother content as wincest. Especially not gifs from the show. And I appreciate everyone who doesn't either. Because otherwise people who have wincest blocked will never see most of the Sam and Dean posts. (My tag for canon brotherly love, btw.)
For years and years people have complained about hellers spamming the supernatural tag with destiel. Let's not do the same. Not only to not be annoying, but also to keep canon content visible for everyone.
Also, PLEASE, if you are not the creator of some fanwork, don't add a ship tag with your reblog that wasn't put there originally (when it's not explicit). That post is then forevermore hidden for people who have that tag blocked. You're literally diminishing the creators exposure.
Lastly, with rpf shipping, it's just as disrespectful to put tinhat content under an actors name as it is to put hate under an actors name, IMHO. Both to that actor and other fans.
Please don't clog tags. Thank you.

Bonus points for making heller and AAs heads explode with rage. Lol. Feel free not to post. I just wanted to share my appreciation for that fact.
Side note, if you want to answer: Do you think J2 would have good full-on romantic chemistry? Rather than brothers toeing the line between being obsessive but platonic and something more.
Why not, making hellers and AAs go ka-boom is half the reason this blog exist.
Tumblr media
.
Sure I think J2 can take it up a notch and have that romantic chemistry vibe, especially Jensen, his natural habitat is being all Wincesty. Sam was the only thing that made demon!Dean even remotely interesting by the third episode, which was directed by Jensen so all those Wincesty gaze were all from Jensen.  Jared does conflicted pining pretty well and have that push pull thing going.

Best Underrated Anime Group J Round 2: #J1 vs #J2
#J1: Two high school girls overcome mommy issues with the power of YURI!
#J2: Two girls wander the post-apocalyptic world
Details and poll under the cut!
Tumblr media
#J1: Flip Flappers
youtube
Summary:
Cocona is an average middle schooler living with her grandmother. And she, who has yet to decide a goal to strive for, soon met a strange girl named Papika who invites her to an organization called Flip Flap.
Dragged along by the energetic stranger, Cocona finds herself in the world of Pure Illusion—a bizarre alternate dimension—helping Papika look for crystal shards. Upon completing their mission, Papika and Cocona are sent to yet another world in Pure Illusion. As a dangerous creature besets them, the girls use their crystals to transform into magical girls: Cocona into Pure Blade, and Papika into Pure Barrier. But as they try to defeat the creature before them, three others with powers from a rival organization enter the fray and slay the creature, taking with them a fragment left behind from its body. Afterward, the girls realize that to stand a chance against their rivals and the creatures in Pure Illusion, they must learn to work together and synchronize their feelings in order to transform more effectively.
Propaganda 1:
Flip Flappers is a magical girl show that brings its own unique twist to the genre, while still being reminiscent of older classics. It has incredibly creative visuals, good characters, and an absolute banger soundtrack! The deeper messages of the show are about finding the courage to start making your own decisions and living your life the way you want it, growing up, and the struggle against controlling authority figures that entails. While it is a fun show, the emotional moments it has hit hard! It also has a yuri narrative (seriously, they even get taken to an all-girls Catholic school yuri setting one time), which I’m sure the himejoshis on this webbed site would appreciate if they saw the show!
Propaganda 2:
Look, sometimes Magical Girl Shows have fights that are just kinda… ehh. You ever wanted to see magical girls beat the SNOT out of monsters in amazingly animated, incredibly physical fight scenes? Give Flip Flappers a shot! And if you don’t, that’s fine too, because the shows genre changes every other episode anyways.
Flip Flappers has a little something for everyone. It has amazing characters. It has slick transformation sequences. It has stunning fight scenes. It has horror. It has yuri. It has mommy issues. It’s fun for the whole family!
While one would think the constant tone-shifts would leave the series feeling kinda all over the place, Flip Flappers keeps itself grounded with its amazing character work. The main two characters, Cocona and Papika, bounce off of each other incredibly well. They have so much chemistry, and it’s refreshing to see a show that actually does something romantic with its two main leads instead of just kinda dangling it in front of your face and then chickening out at the last second.
In conclusion, this show is the embodiment what having ADHD and being sapphic feels like. Give it a shot!
Trigger Warnings:
Flashing Lights/Flickering Images, Gender Identity/Sexuality Discrimination, Guns, Kidnapping, Nudity.
Depictions of child and emotional abuse, both at a side character and a main character. Control over children is a common theme in the show.
Tumblr media
#J2: Girls’ Last Tour (Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou)
youtube
Summary:
Amid the desolate remains of a once-thriving city, only the rumbling of a motorbike breaks the cold winter silence. Its riders, Chito and Yuuri, are the last survivors in the war-torn city. Scavenging old military sites for food and parts, the two girls explore the wastelands and speculate about the old world to pass the time. Chito and Yuuri each occasionally struggle with the looming solitude, but when they have each other, sharing the weight of being two of the last humans becomes a bit more bearable. Between Yuuri’s clumsy excitement and Chito’s calm composure, their dark days get a little brighter with shooting practice, new books, and snowball fights on the frozen battlefield.
Propaganda:
Above everything else, this is a show about how human life and curiosity will continue to exist even in terrible circumstances. The two main characters are super charming, so following them around is fun, but even beyond that it’s just a gorgeous show. The scenery is often awe-inspiring and beautiful, as is the soundtrack. Despite the show taking place after the end of the world, it can be surprisingly uplifting as the girls (and the audience!) find wonder and joy in the world around them. Definitely a show more people should watch!
Trigger Warnings: There are some flashbacks that depict the war that ended the world, but they are not graphic. Some blood is shown, but not much else. Main characters own guns, though they don’t use them on other people.

Tag List Updates: I’m scrubbing my tag list in three days!!!
Disclaimer: This post will be a lengthy one. (Also this post as NOTHING to do with series tag list, just my Forever tags, and Jensen and Dean’s Babes tag list:)
Also, if you want to remain on my tag list, read the rules below! Thanks for reading guys! Your support means the world to me!
As most of you know, I’ve been having a time with my tag list. The bottom line is, there are simply to many people on it. Some have probably changed their handle without notifying people they have tagging them in fics, some may have even just gone dormant, and due to real life stuff, they’re just not able to be active anymore. Either way, it’s time to clean it up a bit.
That being said, I’m going to start being picky about who I allow on my tag list from now on. Not trying to be mean in any way, I love each and every one of my readers, but tagging people in post take time, and they don’t always work. I’m not going to tag people in any longer that are silent followers. If you are a silent follower, and like to read my work, I don’t appreciate you any less, don’t get me wrong, but If I don’t know you’re getting your tags, or if they’re working for you, I’m not going to take up space tagging blank blogs.
1.So, here are some rules for being on my tag list.
2.You must be an ACTIVE follower: (No blank blogs.)
3.You must be 18 years of age at least! (This is a no minor zone! If you are following me under the age of 18, and I find out, you will be blocked)
4.You must be a responsive follower, (Meaning, you must at least like the fic you are tagged in, or reblog it so that I know you are getting your tag. I don’t feel like this is too much to ask as a creator, seeing as we’re taking the time to tag you guys in these fics we create, you guys could at the very least let us know you’re getting your tags. Tumblr tags aren’t always reliable ones, and sometimes take a few days to appear in notifications if at all, so it would be nice to know that you’re getting the work, and this is the fastest way to do that.)
5.Most importantly, YOUR BLOG MUST BE TAGGABLE!!! IF I TRY TO TAG YOU MORE THAN TWICE, AND YOUR BLOG DOES NOT RECIEVE TAGS, I’M REMOVING YOU FROM THE TAG LIST!!
6. If you want to be on any tag list below, YOU MUST SEND THE REQUEST IN THE FORM OF AN ASK!! Do not request to be on a tag list in the comments of a fic, and or a reblog, it’s easier for me to keep up with request in ask form!
There are going to be two tag list, seeing as I only really write for Jensen and Dean anyway. (Also whatever character Jensen might play is up for a fic too, you just never know with me.) If you do not find yourself in this tag list, after reading all of the above, and want to be on the tag list, send an ask stating which one you want to be on, and if you are taggable, then I will add you to the tag list.
These tag list are my

Hey I'm new to J2 tinhatting and looked on your blog and noticed you're fairly new to it too. I'm like really new to it like a week lol. Do you ever have doubts about them and say to yourself this is just wishful thinking? I only say this because I've RPF before and it never ends well but I can say their relationship is quite unique to others. Like I'm also trying to look at it in a logical way, and maybe they are just like brothers, the existence of their kids also complicates things too, etc. What are you thoughts?
Hello Anon!
First off, welcome to the SPN and J2 Tinhatter Community! I think it's super cool that you found my blog and are interested in some of my thoughts :)) so, thank you for your question!
You know, this is such a good question and I completely understand where you are coming from. As a blogger, who is only 4 months into being in this community, your question is something I have asked myself constantly.
In the beginning, I struggled with constantly needing solid proof to quench the doubts in my mind of J2's relationship. Even to this day there are times where I find myself questioning my solid belief in J2's romantic relationship. I think this is because I come from a family that is so demanding of "solid" proof. My mother is an opinionated attorney and my father is a man who doesn't believe in things until he sees it with his own eyes. So, for you anon, and anyone out there who wants to believe in J2 but struggles with doubt, I understand. I have done it too.
During this past summer, when I first entered the tinhatter community, I was consumed by the need to search high-and-low for blogs that did deep analysis on J2's relationship or did Proofs of their romantic connection. I did this because, even though I believed in them, a part of me was so used to needing to have proof to believe in something. I also received a lot of hate from a certain part of SPN's fandom as well. A lot of those people tried to tell me I was "stupid" or that I was "delusional" for believing in something that wasn't real because there was no actual "proof".
In simpler terms, a lot of people around me wanted me to be doubtful. So I was.
Nevertheless, it is my strong belief that someone is drawn to the tinhatter community for a specific reason: you see the connection between Jared and Jensen.
It is true, to some extent, that one reads J2 content or is drawn to tinhatter content because you have noticed things about J2. You notice the looks. The touches. The chemistry and connection.
This idea alone is what kept me believing, because even though so many people wanted me to doubt J2, I knew I was drawn to tinhatter content/the community because I saw something and felt something about J2 that went beyond brotherhood.
As these past four months as a tinhatter has progressed, one of my favorite bloggers has constantly encouraged and supported me in my journey with J2. @brookesallow is such a wonderful writer and person. Their content is always insightful, accurate, and encouraging. Anon, or for anyone interested, I always recommend looking at @brookesallow because their content has kept me believing in J2. This blogger always posts proofs, theories, and beliefs. They are kind and very welcoming, so definitely check them out! I feel that their blog posts do a great job of explaining J2's situation with their wives, kids, and their own romantic connection.
In the beginning, I doubted J2 a lot (even though I really wanted to believe). However, @brookesallow and so many other amazing bloggers have done an amazing job of showing me that I can believe in J2's love and not feel shame for it.
Bearding is such a big thing in Hollywood. So many actors and actresses are pressured by the industry to hide the fact that they are apart of the LGBTQIA+ community. This is beyond tragic and sad. Can you imagine how many actors and actresses we love and adore are forced to be away from the people they love?
As I've done more research, it's clear that there have been plenty of famous actors who have been married + with kids who were actually gay. But because of the movie industry and PR, they were forced to pretend they were heterosexual.
This fact has made me believe in J2 a lot more.
But I want to reiterate my previous idea that those who are drawn to J2 tinhatter content are here for a reason: they believe in something.
In the beginning, I knew I saw something about J2 that went beyond more than brotherhood/friendship. There was just something about their relationship that was infinite and beautiful. And even though I doubted them at first, what kept me believing (and continuing to believe) is the fact that I can see there is just such a powerful and timeless connection between them.
Jared and Jensen are soulmates. You can see it in the way they look at each other; act around each other; touch each other; and love each other. Jensen's first choice will always be Jared. And Jared's first choice will always be Jensen.
So, even though J2 have wives (beards) + kids, it is clear (to me) that they are together. That they love each other, more than just as friends.
I think it is natural to doubt J2 at times. We live a society that demands "proof" but as the famous movie Scarface said:
"The eyes, chico, they never lie."
Looking at the photos below, the way J2 looks at each other is enough for me to believe. In these past four months, as I've grown as a blogger and tinhatter, I know I believe in J2's relationship. There is something about them that is deeper. Something about their relationship that doesn't feel like simple "brotherhood friendship".
Jensen once said that he'd take a bullet for Jared in an interview.
Jensen once went down fighting in a bar brawl for Jared.
J2 would do anything for each other, and I don't think there is anyone I've ever met that would do that for a mere friend. Unconditional love like that stems from a type of love that goes so much deeper than friendship. To say that you would "take a bullet" for someone is serious. It would mean that you feel that, if that person were threatened, that your life (and anything you value in continuing to live) wouldn't matter in that second---you would give that all up for that person, regardless of your own happiness, because that's how much that other person means to you.
That kind of love is special.
But there are so many instances I can think of between J2 that have convinced me of their love. So many that there isn't a enough space here for me to share, but I definitely recommend @brookesallow. Their blog is amazing and so informative!
Anyway, I'm sorry I went on a rant.
Anon, I just want to say that I understand the way you feel. I have been there. The point of this post isn't to force you to believe me or anything. I think discovering your own confidence and belief in J2 (without anyone forcing you) is what makes the tinhatter journey beautiful. As these past four months as a blogger have progressed, I have found so much joy in finding my own confidence in J2 myself. By doing this, I have opened my heart to the fact that I don't need a "confession" to believe in them. I can believe in their love because I can see it. I can feel it.
I believe in it because I believe in J2.
It is my hope, anon, that you have a wonderful and welcoming experience into the tinhatter community! I hope you have a wonderful journey and please ask me if you have anymore questions!
Farewell! AND THANK YOU AGAIN for your question. I'm really honored and grateful for your curiosity.
ENJOY THESE PHOTOS BELOW OF J2 IN LOVE :))

I'll maintain this index in a pinned post for easy reference. Click the links to go to the YouTube videos, or click here for a more readable Google Docs table which includes these links plus a tab noting which events I skipped, temporarily or permanently, and why.
2007-11-11, Chicago - J2 Breakfast (00:23:42)
2007-11-11, Chicago - Jensen Solo (00:21:55)
2007-11-11, Chicago - Jared Solo (00:29:44)
2007-11-11, Chicago - J2 Main (00:38:24)
2008-07-27, San Diego Comic Con - SPN Panel (00:50:52)
2008-11-16, Chicago - J2 Breakfast (00:26:16)
2008-11-16, Chicago - Jared Solo (00:26:20)
The main panels from CHICON 2008 are up next. They'll have better video quality (for the most part) than the Breakfast panel from that event.
Thank you to everyone who has shown an interest in these videos. The reblogs and likes all made me very happy, and I especially appreciated the kind comments some of you left in your reblog text and tags. I'm unsure of the proper Tumblr way to respond directly to that in a way that won't annoy people, but I've definitely noticed and appreciated it!
An explanation of this project and my tentative plans for it are listed below the break. A lot of it will be familiar if you've read my earlier posts, but it's more detailed -- and excessively long! There's also some info on how you can help, especially if you have any old videos or audio files that you'd be willing to contribute.
Why Do You Call These "Enhanced Editions"?
The videos I'm using are not my own, but I've spent many hours adding enhancements to them. Credit and links to the original videos are in the video descriptions. These are the typical enhancements you'll see:
I'm upscaling the videos as best I can. It isn't remotely perfect, but it's a little more watchable than the originals. I'm not experienced with this and the videos I'm working with are very low quality by today's standards. They were also recorded under difficult circumstances. Video taking wasn't permitted at most of the earlier cons, so the people who took them did so at the risk of getting kicked out. They couldn't exactly come waltzing in with a tripod, so the videos are shaky, they don't always have a clear view of the stage, and sometimes they cut off at unfortunate moments. They can be frustrating to watch, but we owe these people a debt of gratitude for capturing this footage because otherwise it would have been lost altogether.
The original videos are usually in multiple parts, but I'm editing them together into a single video as cohesively as possible. I may use videos from multiple sources to provide the most complete video possible, and I'll select the ones with the highest video quality available. Sometimes there just aren't a lot out there, though.
I'm adding extra content to help clarify references people make during the panels. The videos I've worked with so far don't take up the full width of a modern video frame, so I've taken advantage of that extra space to display the extra content to the side where it's less obtrusive. There are explanations for obscure references that are way funnier when you understand what they mean, plus episode references to help jog the memory for those of us who haven't rewatched the show a million times. In rare cases where I think it will enhance understanding, I'll insert brief episode clips that highlight what they're talking about.
I'm putting a LOT of time into adding good, color-coded English subtitles that can be turned on and off with YouTube's CC button. These videos can be frustrating to understand because the audience often drowns them out and Jared and Jensen tend to talk at the same time when they're together. I can't always figure everything out, but it's far better than the crazy, auto-generated nonsense that many videos have. The color-coding helps with telling who's saying what: red for Jared, blue for Jensen, green for the general audience, yellow for the current fan at the microphone, and white for other people such as staff.
If there's missing footage that I can't find anywhere, then if I can find a source that seems to have reliable details about what was discussed, I'll add still images with a brief summary and a link to my source in the video description.
What Conventions Do You Plan to Enhance?
I don't want to make grand promises that I'll enhance videos for every old convention, although I definitely love the idea of doing so. How far I go with this will depend on how much sustained interest there is from other people and how much spare time I have myself. My output speed will probably be erratic depending on what's going on in my life at the time.
My general plan was to start with the oldest conventions and work my way forward. For now, I only plan to enhance the panels with Jared and/or Jensen since they're my main interest. I may temporarily skip over conventions that they didn't both attend, but with the intent to go back and fill those in later.
One big constraint will be whether I can find enough videos to work with for a convention, and just how bad the quality is. I've found that some videos are too poor of a quality to upscale, at least with my limited skill. Since these videos are painful to watch in their raw form, I suspect people will be less interested in watching "enhanced" videos that don't include at least some noticeable improvement in visual quality, but please do let me know if I'm wrong. For that reason, I'll probably skip past cons if I can't upscale the videos, at least for now.
As I work through the old conventions, I'll make a good attempt to upscale the available videos. If I don't have much success, then I'll skip over that convention with the hope that someday either the technology or my skills will improve, or maybe a more skilled fan will be able to accomplish more with it. If I make it through all the low-hanging fruit, I might come back to those problematic conventions and just create a cohesive edit with special content and subtitles even if I can't substantially improve the video quality.
These are just my general thoughts right now but the project is young, so my strategy may change.
Can I Help?
If you have any old convention videos or audio files that you're willing to contribute, please message me! For now, let's limit it to content from 2010 or older. Maybe I can use them, maybe I can't, but the more I have to work with, the better chance I have of creating something more complete. If I do use your material, I'll credit you in whatever manner you prefer.
My main source of videos has been the Supernatural Wiki convention pages and the playlists that sil9800 has put together on YouTube. If your videos can be found there, and if the links to them still work, then I've probably found them already. There are a lot of dead or private video links on the Wiki though, and also dead links on various LiveJournal pages linked to from the Wiki, so there were more videos out there at one point. (If you have any videos you don't want me to use for this project, let me know and I'll respect your wishes.) I also run keyword searches on YouTube, but I rarely find anything that I hadn't already found from those other sources.
Even if your video looks terrible, you might just have a missing piece of footage that I couldn't find anywhere else, or your video might upscale more easily than another. If nothing else, I might be able to hear something in the audio that will help me fill in a subtitle I couldn't figure out.
Likewise, audio files can be helpful even without video. If nothing else, they may help me fill in some subtitles. If the audio file is consistently easier to understand than the audio on the videos I'm using, I can also substitute the audio from your file in place of the video's audio. If you have audio of sections of the panels for which no known videos exist, that could also help me fill in those gaps.
If you're watching my enhanced videos with the subtitles turned on, please do let me know if you catch any errors or if you can clearly understand something I marked as [inaudible]. I can't change the videos themselves on YouTube, not without breaking the links and causing confusion, but it's pretty easy to update the subtitles because they're a separate file. It's important to me to try not to put words in their mouths that they might not have said, so I'm trying not to guess based on context. However, there were times when I felt like I should have been able to understand what they said but I just couldn't manage it, and I'm sure someone with different ears may be able to figure out some of the parts I couldn't.

This is me and thanks a lot for your detailed assessment of my ask. I genuinely appreciate it. Like you said, I do still like Gen very much along with all her limitations in my opinion.
I connected with her videos and the things that she has spoken about in the past quiet a bit. There is a certain honesty and vulnerability to her especially in the SPN fandom context where most extras seem toxic. I also think she is a great mom who really prioritizes her kids.
However, I do find her lacking towards Jared and feel that she could do more to offer support to him like you very much mentioned in your post. I know it isn't easy being in a relationship with someone who suffers with depression, anxiety and has had struggles with suicide ideation. It must take alot but I feel she could do that public support a bit more instead of trying to act aloof at those moments. Like I really appreciated the note that Sandy (it's heartfelt) put out for Jared even after their breakup but I've never seen anything like that from Gen.
Jared is a very supportive husband who constantly props her up so even if everything is not about money, I would understand why she wants to be with Jared even when she may not be that fully in love with him anymore. That's the kind of partner every women wants and very few men are like that.
For eg, I wouldn't consider Jensen making Danneel the EP on TW being supportive as that was just him sort of using her in his agenda of taking over SPN.
If Gen and Jared are not the ones for each other I would still wish them both well individually.
Welcome back Anon. So there are some good points you make here but also some I can't agree with which I'm going to explain why. Know that I'm speaking from a point of view where I look at things more objectively and am not going about things from a petty stance. "Oh what is she wearing here" or "she looks terrible" kind of thing. Instead, I'm going to talk about things more or less that come straight out of their mouths and will do my best to elaborate on the context of things as well.
As far as the parenting thing goes, I'm not 💯 sure I can say she's a great mom. Yes, being a parent is challenging. It's the hardest job to do but it's the easiest one to have an opinion on. I think however she gives into this "woke culture" a bit too much and it is alarming at times. For one, she talks about the kids' problems too openly and why on Earth she decided to openly say on a podcast from 2020 that her kids are all in therapy along with her and Jared and calling it "brain exercise" is questionable at best. First of all, why would you talk about the kids being in therapy under the age of 10? Outside of the whole HIPAA stuff going on there where therapists can't talk about their patients especially when someone doesn't need to know as part of their treatment plan, why would you air your dirty laundry about your kids being in therapy? A lot of the grown world is aware that people don't go to therapy and PAY for it just for shits and giggles or as she puts it "brain exercise". This is what puzzles, books, etc. Are for, not therapy.
Therapy is to address some kind of trauma, emotional disorder, treat a psychological condition, etc. Calling it brain exercise and generally trying to normalize something like therapy, sure lots of us go to therapy and there's nothing wrong with it. Heck, I do too for depression/anxiety reasons because of a lot of things that I went through as a child pertaining to how I was treated by the school system in elementary school and other things (thanks to being neurodivergent). But for Gen to talk about it casually as if everyone is going to view it the same twisted way she does IS a problem. Don't talk about your kids' issues, let alone use it in your affiliate marketing crap as, I'll dive into below. I took the below screenshot on April 16, 2024, around 11:27am EST and from the time stamp given being 53m (indicating 53 min Instagram style), this makes it so she posted this around 10:34am EST (or 9:34am CST since that's her time zone). I'm going to touch onto some of the stuff these books tap into based on Google searches, as I sadly don't have the time to read as much as I'd like. Going based on the covers here, it seems to me she have some insight as to what kinda issues her kids have, what her flaws as a parent are, etc. "Raising Good Humans" talking about breaking the cycle of reactive parenting.
The Anxious Generation, I didn't read this book but I did watch a documentary called The Social Dilemma tapping into how social media websites are designed to keep people interacting as much as possible. It also talked about how AI behind sites like Facebook can know things about your personality, interests, people who are likely to get into a relationship based on their interactions, if you're struggling with mental illness, etc. The answer to this problem? Don't let your kids be glued to electronic devices or even have social media for a long time. I mean hell my 8 year old son has a friend in his class who already has a Facebook. Like really, why just why?
As for The Explosive Child, based on some comments she's made, general vibes their kids give off in how they react to certain things and behave, etc. It is not difficult to guess which child this is. There are also plenty of easy solutions to this problem, like teaching your child what the word no means. But we're not there to see or hear everything, I'm going based off of what had been observed from publicly available videos, posts, etc.
Tumblr media
To define Reactive Parenting as a synopsis from this site here,
"Reactive parenting is a parenting style where the parent’s reactions are primarily driven by their strong emotions toward a child’s behaviors rather than a thoughtful understanding of the situation. Reactive parenting is characterized by the following.
* Emotions such as anger, frustration, and fear drive impulsive responses.
* Over-reactive, punitive, aggressive, and explosive reactions.
* Yelling, threats, punishment, or bribes.
* Lack of self-control.
* Inconsistency in reactive discipline is confusing for the child.
* Focus on immediate control rather than teaching the child or the long-term results.
Then here are 10 examples also from the same website as to what reactive parenting is:
* Yelling or screaming at the child
* Punishing out of anger
* Reacting physically, such as spanking or grabbing a child in anger
* Using shaming or name-calling
* Resorting to threats or ultimatums
* Getting easily frustrated and snapping at the child over small issues
* Caving in to whining or giving in to tantrums
* Making fake promises
* Feeling personally attacked or insulted by a child’s misbehavior
* Making sarcastic or hurtful comments in response to a child’s behavior
Now, I'm not gonna sit here and say that any parent is perfect. Everyone had moments where they don't react the best to situations and we all have our boiling points. Based on other clips like from the FanX or Atlanta con or maybe even Scotland in a panel Gen and Jared did together, it is clear both Jared and Gen probably have issues disciplining their kids at times. One of the comments made was sobering to the effect of "this is what it's like trying to discipline our kids at home" in a joking manner. I can't for the life of me recall which panel it was but I know it was a more recent one.
Also, if we want to talk about how the boys don't seem to really like being filmed especially Tom, that bizarre vampire cake Odette got for her birthday that doesn't look child appropriate in my personal opinion or even how Gen admitted she lets Odette be mean to Shep from being a sensitive oddball, it's clear to me Gen is permissive yet also strangely territorial against Jared to the point where it seems he doesn't even fit in at home. Just like everyone else, I do have my opinions on raising kids even if they're not mine because guess what? All kids grow up and are meant to be productive members of society, I'd like to see as many of them grow up to be healthy, well rounded individuals who contribute to society as possible. Isn't that what we all want?
Good for Gen on admitting to her flaws as a parent on multiple occasions, seeing something is wrong with what you're doing and admitting to it is the first step to addressing a problem. But seriously, I say she needs to stop airing her dirty laundry and frankly, not everything is meant to be some monetizing opportunity.
youtube
Now onto your comments about being with someone with depression and/or anxiety and suicidal ideation. I know I know, it's all just a chemical imbalance right? (Sarcasm to be duly noted here). Gen admitted to having some issues with anxiety in the Rise Together podcast she did in Nov 2020 with Dave Hollis I've mentioned several times lately ha ha. I am going to say no it really isn't that hard, especially if she supposedly has anxiety like he does. She should have some better grasp on his issues as his wife than she does, let alone more than the average person. She made it pretty clear she's very tone deaf when it comes to Jared. Don't get me started on her yellow sticky note talking about "the empaths" and whatnot from this post she made below. It honestly isn't THAT hard to be with someone who has depression or suicidal ideation at times. I think with suicidal ideation people get very uncomfortable when they hear someone thinking about it. I understand why as this is something a professional should deal with but in all honesty, sometimes what these people need is a listening ear.
It's ironic you mentioned the letter Sandy wrote about their breakup as I'm aware she ended up getting her Masters degree in Psychology per her Etsy page. She also sells some sensory kits which seems to stem back to her interests in psychology. It is slightly ironic she is Jared's ex fiancé, got her masters in Psychology and we're talking now about how hard it apparently must be for Gen to be with Jared given his history with mental illness. Ironic given the black magic stuff, how him and Gen met merely within 2 months after he and Sandy broke up, etc. and the educational background she now has. Hmmmm... did Gen's black magic result in this "surprise in the bag" (referring to what that psychic guy I mentioned before said about sorcerers, black magic, and how higher powers always throw in these surprises for them "be careful what you wish for") because Gen's black magic actually "took" Jared away from someone who was maybe a little more better suited for Jared than she is? And now the struggles she must have marrying into these problems. By the way, I was told on a side note Jared and Sandy aren't true love soulmates either but that Sandy would've still been a better fit for him. It could however in a way be said that maybe Sandy's life is more simple and seems overall at least somewhat happy from what I've seen on her posts, where she's at in life and whatnot. I think things with Jared may have ended up less tumultuous if he were with Sandy instead but at the same time we always have a choice in how we behave. We may not always be in control of what emotions arise from things but we all can 100% control HOW we react to things, which I think is a lesson both Gen and Jared have yet to learn (and was implied in the reactive parenting book choice she chose to picture in her story and is trying to monetize off of).
Now with the most recent book post I provided screenshots of below funnily enough, this wasn't something she underlined but it is relevant to the black magic stuff I was talking about. In one of the screenshots from the post she made the other day from the book it says: "This shame is wrapped up with the morality of the sins and baked into our culture, invisible to our eyes. I believe envy is at the crux of woman-on-woman conflict, the unleashing that pulls us back from expression. It may seem unyielding but it's a spell we can break: we need to examine the instinct then unbuckle the col-..." and stops there. It's a spell we can break. Hmmm... funny page to post given the timing of my making these posts about her black magic. Of course this isn't the context from the book but I just found the timing to be rather funny and how she picked that page to take a photo of and post. As for what she sacrifices and whatnot, she lives a very comfy lifestyle and has nannies to help with the kids. Only thing she sacrifices is freedom due to having kids. See Gen, isn't the idea of having more kids just silly at this point? Sure it would be nice to have that kind of lifestyle (oh no ENVY on my part) but I do not see what else I would have to ENVY her about lol.
I remember one conversation I had with my grandmother years ago before she passed away when I was having some issues with my own mom. She talked to me some about how when she came to America from India after marrying my grandfather, she knew next to nothing about sewing, cooking, raising kids, etc. She had to learn real quick after she started having kids and said that my oldest aunt helped her with the rest of the kids (my mom is the youngest of 10 along with her twin sister, my aunt!). Now THIS is sacrifice to me on my grandmother's part and my aunts. She was trying to convey the point that parenting is hard and to try giving my mom some slack on things.
For a bit of some backstory, She grew up in India back when it was taken over by Great Britain and the British families were given Indian servants. Now, families like my grandmother's hid their Indian ancestry or didn't talk about it because of this lifestyle they were given. Point is, my grandmother lived a relatively comfortable lifestyle prior to coming to the USA and had to sacrifice her lifestyle in India to move to the USA with my grandfather and start a family. I'm aware Gen comes from a wealthy family and has a more parallel movement socially if not upward. I'm not sure what she sacrificed as it seems she enjoyed being pregnant and talks a lot about how her source of strength is in being a mother and such. Hmm...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With Jared and Gen, true love soulmates/divine matches my ass, they definitely aren't. You don't need to be a psychic or have any intuitive gifts to see that if you look closely enough. I laugh when people say they clearly have a rock solid marriage because of you know enough about them, it starts to become clear as day that's not the case. Jared definitely is a very good man, even if he comes with a lot of baggage. I think even though he has many great qualities (very kind, affectionate, supportive, wealthy come on I had to lol, handsome), he also is flawed like anyone else. I think the mental health issues he has however serve as a deterrent for a lot of people. We also can't forget how he has in the past doxxed customer service people online and has said some rather mean stuff about others, which maybe why Charlie and such takes over his page at times.
I am curious about your comment regarding Jensen using Danneel in his agenda to take over the SPN brand. I will say a lot of people blame Danneel for how things with The Winchesters went down and for announcing it publicly when it was announced. They also blame her for starting off Prequelgate. The reality is, it was going to be announced at some point no matter what day they picked. Jensen should've talked to Jared about his plans from the get go and not later, but what do I know? It's debatable as to whether Jared really knew nothing about the show prior to it being announced or not, and also how much of this was Jensen or Danneel's fault. I personally think Jared should've talked to Jensen behind closed doors about it instead of taking it to Twitter but hey I guess he needed to rant, right? Can't blame him for feeling at least left out of this one but then again, I find it interesting Jared came up with the idea for Walker first before Jensen ever came up with the idea for The Winchesters. Jared already had a deal to do Walker before Jensen did for The Winchesters, let alone before Chaos Machine Productions ever came into existence. I say things do not add up publicly as to who is to blame here honestly but I think it boils down to bad communication on all parts. It's also up for debate about Jensen taking over the SPN brand as there's things he's done that suggest this is true. For example, getting the FBBC LLC registered and trademarked back in about 2014 or 2015 before they opened doors on 2018. Also doing The Winchesters could be another one but then again Jared had his Walker deal first and was hoping Jensen would play Cordell. I can't seem to find a source for this but some peeps told me Jensen told Jared he isn't interested because he didn't care for the script, but he did show up for a cameo and ended up directing an episode of Walker. Then there is the whole YANA versus AFK stuff that went on back in 2016 which was at the very least questionable.
I do love your sentiment Anon that even if they aren't soulmates you wish them well anyways as individuals (no sarcasm here, I promise). I can never condone the idea of parents staying together for the sake of the children. Happily married, yes unhappily no. If there are fundamental differences that are leading a married couple to be unhappy, it isn't gonna work. Kids do eventually figure out mom and dad aren't good together if they aren't. It always trickles down to the kids when parents aren't happily married. I think there are definitely worse people out there and far worse parents who do horrific things to their kids. However, I can't say Gen is a great parent but maybe a more average parent or so coming from an objective point of view.
Thank you for the wonderful thoughts and having this conversation with me Anon. And also thank you for taking the time to read my long response ha ha. I hope this post gives some more insights as well, even though we don't entirely agree on everything.

supernatural s15e20 carry on (w. andrew dabb)
well. i started watching this show last year around end of february. more or less since maybe a bit through s1, i've been watching one episode a day. sometimes it takes me a few days to get through one episode, other times i need a break because of some bad stuff in the episode prior. i've been posting a recap thing for every episode since about midway through s4.
297 posts under my spnwatch tag, which has some doubles because of reblogs when i split up the watch etc. so yeah, only a year of my life, but i've spent so many hours writing about the show now that it's like i'm wrapping up some large project by finishing it. that said, because i didn't write up those first few seasons (only when i recognized someone and did a hey i know you), i do think i might go back and write those up when i start a rewatch. so i have a project extension waiting in the wings 🤪
i made a fanvid, i've made spn gifs and even some j2 gifs
i've also painted a good amount of things from the show now
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so i guess this is all to say, this show has been so creatively inspiring and i'm thankful for that - despite all my regular complaining, i do care so much for these two characters and the relationship they forged and shared on screen over all these years. i'm late to the party but i'm glad i got here nonetheless
i'm nervous to watch this episode. i know the main moments but not how it plays out. and i've been upset about and complained about dean's ending for many a season knowing it was coming down the pike
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i gather there's no official time on when this takes place, but that jared has said 5 years later and the script linked from the wiki said 6 months but however long it was apparently sam has learned to use a towel with a hot pan handle in this little domestic slice of life montage
Tumblr media
DEAN What? What's wrong? SAM Nothing. I'm fine. DEAN No, come on. I know that face. That's, uh... That Sad Sam face. SAM I'm not Sad Sam. I'm just... I'm thinking about Cass, you know? Jack. If they could be here. DEAN Yeah, no. I think about 'em, too. You know what? That pain's not gonna go away. Right? But if we don't keep living, then all that sacrifice is gonna be for nothing. So, quit being a friggin' Eeyore, huh? Come on.
get busy living or get busy dying
Tumblr media
can't complain about going out on a monster of the week episode vs the any of the prior ridiculous mainplots
Tumblr media
is it happening already? there's a barn. and vampires. i mean, that's kind of funny that they brought back some very minor evil side character and immediately killed her off. ok well and they showed us dean once narrowly missing the rebar so i guess so.
i knew i wasn't going to handle dean dying well, and i'm not handling it well. he's so young and they went through so much misery for basically his entire life. and insult to injury is sam having to live without him for so long.
DEAN I must have stood outside your dorm for hours... because I didn't... I didn't know what... What you would say. I thought you'd tell me to... to get lost or get dead. And I don't know what I would've done... if I didn't have you. 'Cause I was so scared. I was scared, 'cause when it all came down to it, it was always you and me. It's always been you... and me. SAM Then don't leave me. Don't leave me. I can't do this alone.
i really hate everything about him dying like this but i can appreciate the words they gave us for their love for each other.
i really would like to finish this in one go because i don't want to be crying for two days.
not a fan of the licensed music choices jay gruska (ofc) made. lyrics fit but music itself, pass. maybe for the best, if there was something better in this collection of sam grieving i might not be able to handle it. not really handling now either tbf
DEAN So, Jack did all that? BOBBY Well... Cass helped.
that mean cas is out of the empty then? i'd think i would know that, and with jack fixing everything that would make sense
DEAN It's almost perfect. BOBBY He'll be along. Time up here, it's... it's different.
but it isn't for sammy... but i guess he's happy with his kid and blurry wife and all that, so.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
if they were gonna do the gray wig on jared, the least they could have done was some aging makeup as well
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
counted i think 3 variations of the mushy music theme between dean dying, something else i don't wanna backtrack for, and on the bridge
i know this is a happy ending but just like i considered a fic where the mains die in the last moments when they're old still mcd, this falls under the same kind of thing for me personally. some things make me cry, and it's cathartic. i cry easily, obviously. this is engineered to make me sob and i don't like the premise of him dying early, or that we had to follow the story through them dying to reunite in heaven. it surely adds to the romance of the story, but i also find it incredibly upsetting and i don't particularly like feeling this way. so this is why i'd been dreading this episode for months.
so, that's that, i guess.
Eric Kripke revealed in an interview with EW, that after learning of the show's planned ending, he had attempted to think of different ones to pitch back to Andrew Dabb and Bob Singer, but ultimately came to the conclusion that their planned ending was the right one. Saying of his proposed alternate ending: "There's only one scene that I haven't done that I would've done for the end of the show and I'm certainly not going to give it away, maybe one day I will. But I can assure the fans that my ending was so much darker than the ending they're going with, so anyone who's like, 'Kripke should've ended it,' I'm like, 'You would've hated my ending!' Because it was a horror movie and it was going to have a horror movie ending, so I can promise you the ending [they went with] you'll love much more than if you had let me end the show."
i can only imagine and yes i'm sure i would have hated it too
Dean II: Dad. It's okay. You can go now.
As he described at the November StageIt panel, it was Jared's idea to mirror Dean's death with Sam's. The line "You can go now" was inspired by what director Bob Singer related he had said to his own father.
yeah yeah. my mom made me tell my dad this too when he was dying from cancer when I was 16.

They actually w- I took them to the vet the other day. Um, my-my shepherd, Sadie, uhm, she had a wart growing on her mouth. So, I took ‘em the vet and there was one of those old school, fat vet cats that kind of hangs out in the lobby. It probably ran into a, you know, thousand dogs and.. vicious dogs and nice dogs.
And Sadie, just being the shepherd, goes up to the cat and kind of, like, smells and do a little rumble. And the cat just goes like (mimics rapid swatting) (audience laughs) maybe five or six shots. And, I think that Sam and Sarah did have something (audience: Yeah) kind of going on, and we never- (audience woo’s) And, nothing ever happened, so I’m curious to see if she comes back.
And it seemed like, at least at that point in time, it seemed like, um- it seemed like it was setting her up to come back, because she worked.. at antique shop where there might be more, uh, (audience member: Yeah.) more.. (shrugs) paintings or.. more stuff. (nods and points at the crowd) I borrowed that word. (audience chuckles) More stuff that comes in that she need help with. So, I wonder if we’ll see her come back. (nods) But, that’ll probably be.. the most realistic.. for my opinion. (nods)
Fan: Thank you.
Jared: Sure. (turns to his left)
•(3:36 JF)- Chicon07JP;Q3- living, dead, or fictional dinner; 2x17 love scene
Fan: Hi. (Jared smiles) I have two questions. (Jared: Okay!) Uh, a friend of mine would like to know, if you could have dinner with any person living, dead, or fictional who would it be? And I would like to know (Jared: Oh, wow.) who chor- I would like to know who choreographed the love scene in Heart. (audience laughs and squeals. Jared laughs)
Jared: That was, uh- the first- the second question easier to answer. That was Kim Manners. (audience laughs) Inevitably- inevitably it’s, uh, it’s- I’m mean kissing on screen is awkward enough, because.. I wanna look cool (swipes his bangs bang) (audience giggles) I wanna be- I wanna be, like, hot and sexy. And I wanna, like, get (wiggles) that (a few audience catcalls) right motion.

And then, you know, (sits up straight and ridged) the light’s there and they’re going, “You’re blocking your light.” (audience laughs) (mimics stiffly backing up) And so you back up. (audience laughs)
(?“Like that?”?) “Okay, Yeah. Now lean in.” (leans forward) “Turn your head more.” (nods and turns head) “Okay. Yeah. Still look good? Still look good?” “Yeah. Yeah.” (audience is laughing the entire time)
(sits back and relaxes his body) And so, that’s odd enough. And so, now take a lot of clothes off. (a few audience catcalls) And then you’re like, (slightly turns) “Where can you see? Can you see.. my forearm?” (gestures to his forearm) “No. So, I don’t need to flex my forearm? Just the top? Okay.” (audience laughs) “My back?” (turns slightly in the chair and gestures to his torso) “Can you- Can you s- Did you get any abs? Shannon!” My makeup artist, Shannon. “Give me some paint.” (audience laughs) (points around his side torso) “Some- Pour- Pour some paint around here.”
And so, it’s- it’s- Though it looks- it looks… fine on screen. It’s inevitable very awkward. And it’s always, like- She was a very sweet girl. Uh.. but it’s like, you know, “I’m sorry. Nice to meet you. Okay, uh.” (mimics taking off clothes and then shrugs) (audience laughs) So, it’s- it’s odd and awkward. So, they have to be very choreographic. Kim Manners did that.
And the living, dead, or… You know what? This is just, uh, this is just something out of my own curiosity. And I’m- I’m.. I love my family and I never got to meet my dad’s dad. And so I’d like to go back and (audience aw’s) see, yeah. (nods) My mom’s parents, uh, I knew them both. My- my dad’s mom, but I never got to meet.. my father’s father.
Fan: Good answer.
Jared: So, if I could go back and meet him, I- I’d love to.

Fan: But, um- You can if you want to. But, I was wondering what your favorite practical joke was.. that you played.. on t-
Jared: My favorite practical joke was that I played, um- You know what? I-I still say Kim Manners once- (points off to his left) To go back to Kim, we always have a lot of fun with him on set. And last year, we threw him into- When we were doing “No Exit,” which is the one where they were in the walls, Jo and Dean. Uh, there was a tube that they built on set that had water all through it.

And so, we had to crawl through it. We’re all getting wet and our knees are getting all scuffed up and- and Manners is like laughing. So, Jensen and myself and two of my buddies, my buddy Jordan and Logan who were in town visiting, uh, picked up Kim. Who as it is, is already, you know, 5’6” and much smaller than any of us. (audience giggles) So, he’s like a hundred and ten pounds or something. (audience laughs) So, we just grab him.
And he’s like, (mimics struggling) “I’ll kill yah. I’ll kill you all.” (audience laughs) He’s just struggling back and forth and finally we just overpower him because there’s like four of us. And we shove him into the, uh- into this.. tube full of water and kind of.. gunk and all this crazy stuff that they put in there to make it look like a sewer. And, so- He got us back though. (nods) He got us back. It’s actually on the gag reel, him getting us back. (audience: Yeah!) (nods) Yeah. So, uh- So, he had the last laugh and, we still have to get him back for that.
We’re biding our time. (nods) (audience giggles) Yeah.

Jared: Hi, Maria. I’m Jared. (audience laughs)
Fan: My question is that- Um, my question for you is, what is the most rememberable moment you’ve had in the process of filming “Supernatural?”
Jared: …Wow, uhm.. that’s a- that’s a.. very good question. (audience giggles) Uh… You know what? The- It’s not really been one moment. But it’s been, maybe, a series of moments.
◘Jared's q&a by augustfading 1:03◘
This is what’s pops in my head.. of.. when you kind of realize what you’re doing.. such as right now this very second, when you realize what you’re doing is reaching people. And, people are actually watching and enjoying your work and- and getting along with those stories. And, you read this.. letter, o-or hear from this.. fan.. or this person that says, “You know, listen, um.. it’s something that I can watch with my brother. We used to not get along.” “Something I can watch with my father.” “Something I can watch with my sister.” Or something like, “We’ll turn the phones off.” And you know, “We’ll- We’ll lock our doors and no one knows- Everybody knows not to call us.” (audience giggles)
And so, hearing stuff like that, (nods) it really gets you through the long hours. And, you know, we’re living in Vancouver. We’re waking up and going to work, going home and going to sleep. Waking up, going to work, and going home, going to sleep. On the weekends, we do grocery shopping, you know? (audience laughs) Like, and then go back to sleep, and then we’re waking up and going to work again.
And so, these moments help you realize the last two in a half years has not been for naught. (nods) So.. (nods)
Fan: (?Well, you make-?)
Jared: Thank you again.
Fan: (?grand takes.?)
Jared: (nods and smiles.) Thank you. (The audience claps and cheers.) (turns to his right.) Hi.
•(8:32 JF, 2:33 SA)- Chicon07JP;Q6- Acting with Sandy; 3x05 “Bedtime Stories” crossroad demon scene

Jared: I’m Jared. (audience laughs) Sarah. That was, uh, Taylor in.. “Provenance.” (looks down) (Fan: First of all-) (looks up and points at his head) My mind is always working, guys. (audience laughs) Always working. (leans back, grimaces, and then chuckles)
Fan: First of all, I just have to say, Hi, Sandy. I- I think your fabulous.
Jared: (hand on chest) I’m Jared. (audience laughs) (looks around then swipes his hair) I can bring Sandy in here. (audience laughs, cat-calls, cheers, and claps) (laughs) Thank you. She was- she was absolutely fabulous. She is. Thank you.
Fan: Second of all, I have to say my birthday is on Thursday. And I just have to say thank you so much for coming out here, you and Jensen both. This is the best birthday present ever.
Jared: Oh. Well, happy birthday. And thank you so much.
Fan: And third of all, my question.. (audience laughs. Jared smiles) is, was it difficult in the episode Sandy was in, (Jared: mhm) acting that scene out because, I don’t know about anyone else, but that was disturbing for me to watch you shoot her.
Jared: It was- (audience laughs) Well I’ve always wanted to.. you know, (smiles) (audience laughs and aw’s) (laughs) I actually called and asked. I was like- a-Originally I just walk away, but I called Eric, “Can I shoot her or something?” (audience laughs)
Um, it-it was- it was difficult in that.. you.. when.. you’re in a relationship and- and you know somebody so well and you fall in love with a person for many, many years.. (points back and forth to his eyes) you- you- there’s something different that happens when you look at them and you don’t- you don’t see- even what they say, you kind of- Like-like they could not talk and say anything and you’re.. reading? You’re buying what they’re selling (laughs and shakes his head and mouths “I don’t know”) (audience laughs)
◘Jared and Jensen Q&A (1) by LauraTX1◘
So- so, it was weird to act with her in that sense. And-But it was kind of- It was a great.. kind of way to come full circle, because we met on Cry Wolf (nods) ..and acted (**Fan: **acted) together. (nods) And so it was interesting to- to go back and act and- and I was very proud of her and very happy with.. the work.
And it was fun. It was a lot of fun.. And our director was very.. (swipes hand) obviously.. conscious of what was going on. And-and it was fun. But, the only thing is, is that when I watched the ep- when I watched the scene, it looks like I’m smirking (audience laughs) at a point in time. And I’m like, “I know I’m not smirking. I know I’m smirking as Sam, but I hope it doesn’t look like I’m laughing.. because I know” (audience laughs) “Sandy.” Because I remember, I was trying to smirk to-to- to help Sam blow up the crossroad’s- (swipes hand through air) Anyways, (audience laughs) it was awesome and I loved it. Fan: Hi Jared. (Jared: Hi.) I’m Amanda. (Jared: I’m Jared.) (audience laughs) Um, my question is about the third episode of season 3, “Bad Day at Black Rock”
Jared: Yeah. I got it. (audience woo’s)
◘Jared_cc3 by _sin_attract◘ ◘Jensen and Jared at Creation Con 11 by sarahmonious◘
Fan: I absolutely loved that episode. (Jared: I did too) And in.. the last scene between Sam and Dean where.. Dean is yelling out, “Son of a bitch,” (audience and Jared laugh) you can see you cracking up on film. (audience laughs) I was wondering- (Jared: [points] That’s- that’s actually-) I was wondering how many takes did it take for you to just give up and have that one on film.
◘Jared's q&a by augustfading 1:51◘
Jared: We, um.. Well he improvised that line. He- he’s thrown in a few- He’s said, “Son of a bitch,” a few times on “Supernatural” for those who- for those who know the history of “Supernatural.” A lot of times he’s just, uh.. improvising it.
And, so the shot- as I had known the shot was over, and it was- it was a great shot- it was a steady cam shot, that starts- And that was all- that whole scene was one shot. And it was sort of a way to cleverly tie in us leaving with catching her in the background, and then coming back and ending on us. And it was just- it was a great shot, a really tough shot. We have a great steady cam operator.
◘Jared in Chicago: The laugh in BDABR…Jared or Sam? By BabyBlueSteel◘
And, um.. we had to do that.. probably three or four times. You know, there’s a light.. that goes off. Or I fall. (audience laughs) Or one of those things like that. Or the car is not, um, is not queued on time. Or it’s queued on time, but she goes too fast. There was- there was so many elements that work, especially those long steady cam shots. Everything has to be perfect.
And, he.. comes around. So the people who are (mics people) running behind us holding mics have to like run (audience laughs) and then run back, and then get-hunk down, and like.. run into grave stones. And we try to ignore everything (laughs).
But, um.. that one I couldn’t help but laugh (nods). (audience laughs) It was one of those ones that I was like, “I don’t know if they’re still rolling, but if they are I better hid my face." (turns head) (audience laughs)
Fan: (?I was about to?) say, I watched it and I went- I was watching, um, Jensen’s reaction (Jared: Yep.) and I went, “Hang on, Jared. What’s that?
Jared: Yeah. My favorite part of that episode is actually (mimics holding the check) just the look on Jensen’s face when we win the- when we have the check from Biggerson’s. (audience laughs) He looks like he’s six years old. (mimics Jensen’s face) (audience laughs and claps) There’s something about… there’s something about- because he’s- he’s a l- he’s a few years older than I am. But there’s something about when he gets this goofy look on his face, he could be five. (audience laughs) He could be my son, like, on my shoulders. (mimics Jensen on shoulders and handing him food) “Want some chicken nuggets?” (audience laughs)
But, yeah. That was- Every time I watch that I crack up. But.. yeah. That was a fun shot.
Fan: Okay, thank you.
Jared: Thank you. (turns to his right)
•(13:11 JF, 2:08 SA)- Chicon07JP;Q8- Fav pastime
Fan: Hi, Jared. I’m Tina. I want-
Jared: Hi, Tina. I’m.. Jared. (flustered smirk) (audience laughs) (laughs)
Fan: I wanted to ask what your favorite pastime while filming “Supernatural” is. What-
Jared: Um, my favorite pastime while I’m filming “Supernatural..” Uh.. I guess during the day.. um- It’s weird because.. when you’re filming a TV show or a movie or anything, it’s true what they say, you know, in a fourteen hour day only be working three of those hours? Four of those hours? Maybe on a hard day, half of that time? But, your off time, you can’t necessarily just go, (looks at watch) “Okay, I have five minutes between shots. I’m gonna go, uh, you know, like.. read a book or write-” Because you get totally out of the scenes. It’s, you know, you go from doing a crazy emotional scene to like, “Hey, let’s go play like.. you know, jumpin’ jacks or something.” (audience laughs)
And so, whatev- what I tried to do during the day is just try to set my head straight. You know, my dogs are usually with me (a few audience aw’s) and I-I’ll just kind of sit down with them and pet them, or I’ll call Sandy. Or, uh, turn on.. the news, just sort of have in the background.
But, even sometimes watching the news, you know, you’ll- you’ll sit there and go, “Oh, wait.” And they’ll call you, they’ll- “Where are you on set?” (mimics talking to someone behind him) “I just wanted to see if.. this person’s alright.” (audience laughs) You know and so, it’s tough.
And-and it’s sort of this weird limbo where you can’t- you can’t… stay on set, because you’ll just go crazy. But, you can’t.. completely.. let your mind leave.. the job at hand, because then you’ll get out of the scene. So, it’s kind of- you kind of just.. zone out. But, I guess, just relaxing. (nods)
Fan: Okay. Thank you. (audience laughs)
Jared: Thank you. (turns to his left) Hi, I’m Jared.

Fan: Love him more now. But, um.. (Jared laughs) question can be towards you. (Jared: Okay.) In the episode-
Jared: I’ll-I’ll take it. (audience laughs)
Fan: Well, it involves you, but um, his answer would have probably been a lot better. (giggles)
Jared: It probably would hav- (audience groans and oo’s) (curls up and then sits up) Will someone come wipe my tears. (audience is a mix of laughter and groans)
Fan: In Bedtime-
Jared: I’ll-I’ll take no offense. (audience laughs) In Bedtime. (nods to fan)
Fan: In “Bedtime Stories,” the episode, there is a scene that, um, Sam and Dean are walking together in con- (Jared: Right) in mid conversation. And you, like, look like you forget your, um, your- no. ur- you know, your lyri- lyrics- (audience yells out lyrics and lines) your lines. (Jared: Right) (laughs) And, um.. And Dean has to, like, step in. In the- in.. offset there- not offset, but you can see, uh um, an extra- a female extra walk by and you kind of, like, follow her and Dean has to jump in.. and finish, like, your line or whatever.. and save you, I thought.
Jared: Which one was it? A lot of times that’s, uh, a lot of times he and I work out that. Do you remember which scene that was? Because, I could probably.. answer very specifically. (fan sighs) It was in “Bedtime Stories?”
Fan: It was in “Bedtime Stories.”
Jared: Were we in a hospital?
Fan: No, you’re not in the hospital. You’re outside.. in the park- (a few in the audience start talking) Yeah, you’re talking about what happened in the morgue.
Audience member: You said, “I got nothing!”
Fan: Yeah I- Yeah, you got nothing- you kind of, like, paused and (Jared: [mumbles] I got nothing) Dean had to jump in and, like,-
Jared: Oh, You know what that was! (nods) Okay, I know what you mean. We’re walking up a hill. We’re walking up the hill of the streets. (Fan: Because it’s-) What that was, is that was another long shot. The-the longer the shot the more you kind of have to rush things. And what it is, is that we had to finish the shot by the time we came exactly even with the street, because that’s where we had.. our cameraman. We had, uh, ‘cause we had another angle- We had an angle going down the street. And we had an angle that was sort of following us like this. (moves his hand horizontally to his left)
And so we had to time out that whole walk, trying to start it at the bottom of the block and finish it by the time we exited frame. (Fan: mhm) Um, and so it’s just this weird timing issue to where.. you sort of- Either you’re going too fast and then you have to really slow down and, like, dramatic pause (flips hair) (audience giggles) towards the end of the scene. Or you have to take your pauses through the scene and then you sort of, uh, rush it at the end.
So, I think that was sort of.. we both might have rushed it a bit at the end to- to make sure it got out.
Fan: Get- Because it.. It kind of looked like you were checking the chick out, which is so out of character for Sam. (audience and Jared laugh)
Jared: Well (laughs and throws a hand up)
Fan: It’s usually Dean. (laughs) It’s usually Dean who’s really like, “woo.” You know?
Jared: Man.. I think- I think it’s actually- If-if-if I was trying- (laughs) (audience laughs) (stands up and mimics stumbling back) back pedal (mimics digging) If I was- I’ve actually tried to make a conscious effort this year- for no reason I haven’t (?talked?) with any writers. But, there’s a- there’s a line that Fred Lehne says to Jensen at the end of last year which is, “Are you sure what you brought back is 100% Sam.” (audience agreement)
Fan: Right.
Jared: And though we haven’t- So- So, we started to- I’ve started to sort of.. bring out the Dean in Sam. (nods)
Fan: Right. And that’s what I was wondering if that’s where (Jared: Right. [nods] Which is- [laughs]) the storyline was going. (Jared: Um-) Because it really- re- (laughs)
Jared: Not- not s- not tech- not specifically, but just as an actor (nods) some choices.. I make.. to deliver lines would be how I think maybe Jensen would’ve done it. (Fan: Right) Or with just a check out here and there.
There’s also another part in “Sin City,” where they- you didn’t see it too much, but where, uh-um, Martin Papazian, I forget his character’s name, where, (Brooklyn accent) “Forget about it,” that guy. (Fan: Yeah) Where he comes out he’s like, (Brooklyn accent) “My sister, Cheryl.” And she walks away. And we both (leans) kind of check her out. (Fan: right) (nods) And that was another thing that I decided, you know, like, throw Sam’s face out there and- (nods)
Fan: You guys are great. Thanks so much.

Fan: I have two questions. (Jared: Okay.) First one is, are you in contact with anyone still from “Gilmore Girls?”
Jared: I’m not. I-I’m- I’m not in contact with anyone still from “Gilmore Girls,” but I have, uh.. When I see people here or there, like Scott Patterson is up in Vancouver right now shooting, Gil-“Aliens in America.” (an audience woo) And so I’ll see them- Yeah, he’s great. But I’ll see them at, um.. Warner Brothers events or CW events. And.. the latest people I’ve really seen have been Scott, and I saw Milo, like, a year and a half ago. Fan: Hi. I’m actually an actor from New York.
Jared: Awesome! (pats his leg) (Fan: Yeah) Well, nice to meet you.
Fan: Um, I so connect with the show and I’m not really a TV person at all. (Jared: Right) But um, I really wish that, you know, the darkness and evil in the world came from the supernatural, (laughs) you know. (Jared: [shrugs and nods] Right.) But, it doesn’t. (Jared: Right.) And um, I still connected with the show, because, um, well coincidently my mom died the same week that the father died on the thing. And I- I look after my sisters and they’re (?so?) dark and angry and terrible stuff. And, um, these conversations that you have about faith and all these things, I just so connected. It has such an impact on me. You just- You know, the writers do it, but you really bring the unbelievable to be believable. Which I think is such a skill. So.
Jared: Thank you so much. (audience claps and cheers) I’m very proud, but thank you very much. And that’s- and that’s one of the things actually- (points at fan) You voiced one of the reasons that Jensen and I are so excited to be apart of this show. And Eric has voiced it before. And it’s.. in this guise of supernatural we get to.. tackle a lot of real-life issues dead on. Like y- like.. the vampires you kill them and sort of tackling racism. Or like you’re saying faith, you know, you’re talking about faith healers are real or not, you sort of talk about beliefs and that. So, it’s-it’s been a good- it’s been a good way to get away with talking about real-life issues, but not throwing it in your face like.. (shrugs) real-life issues. You know? (nods) (audience laughs)
Fan: Dean- Dean had this one line where he says- In, “My Time of Dying” he says um, I went, um, you know, “You always have a choice. You could roll over and die or keep on fighting no matter what.” (Jared: Right [nods]) And that stayed with me, through so many things.
Jared: Awesome. Well, thank you so much. (audience claps) (turns to his left and smiles)

Fan: Uh, my question is, um, since you guys obviously film out of sequence, uh eh, whenever actors are available or whatever. (Jared: sure) What do you think of the final.. program once it’s put together?
Jared: It’s so bizarre. Because not just the out of sequence filming but.. um, with the visual effects, and the special effects, and the color timing that’s gone to changing the- the darkening of, uh, a lot of the shots, and just everything getting put together. It’s- it’s great to watch.
It’s-it’s not- it’s not just like- and I love Gilmore Girls. I love my five years on Gilmore Girls, but when you film it, you know what you’re going to see. You know, you look around and you’re in.. uh, Luke’s Diner and you’re like, “Oh, okay. Looks like Luke’s Diner.”
Whereas, you know you’re here and we’re out in the field somewhere and we’re yelling, there’re rain towers, and I’m reading Latin book, (audience giggles) and looking at absolutely nothing. And then you see, uh, what our visual effects guy’s done and our special effect guys have done. And you’re going, “Wow, like tha-that’s good for them.” (audience giggles)
It-It’s just feels like a really collaborative effort because um- on all sides. So, not just the out of sequence filming. But.. every aspect t-that goes into “Supernatural” really. Um, makes it.. a fun production and fun to watch.
It’s easier t-to detach myself.. when I watch it. Because inevitably actors are very.. um, critical of themselves. And so, since it’s such a fun, kind of crazy-kooky show you can sort of get caught up in it as opposed to watching it going, “Oh, I suck there. I suck.” (audience giggles) “Well, I was better than Jensen there, but I-” (audience laughs) (laughs)
Fan: Do you get to watch it every week?
Jared: No, we don’t get to watch it every week. But- because we’re usually working. Actually, I think.. we work most every Thursday at that time. But-but, they give us a copy. (fist pumps) And I have the I-Tunes season pass. (audience woo’s, cheers, and claps)
I watch it on my I-pod. Whenever I want to get recognized I go, “Sorry let me pause “Supernatural” on my I-pod.” (mimics pausing a device) (audience laughs) (mimics showing off the device) “It’s a great show. This guy is” (fist pumps) “hot.” (nods to fan)
Fan: Thank you.
Jared: Thank you. (turns to his right) Hi!
•(24:48 JF, 13:40 SA)- Chicon07JP;14- Fan gift; Thank you plaques
Fan: Hi, Jared. I’m sorry. I lost my voice.
Jared: It happens. It happens. (audience laughs) (throws up hand) I have that affect. (audience laughs) (holds up hand and shakes his head) I’m just kidding. (facepalms) (audience woo’s, cheers, and claps) Okay. No! No! (makes a cut motion) Don’t take me seriously. Don’t take me serious- (swipes at the audience) Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. (audience laughs) (laughs)
Fan: (?blending the tar binding thing right?) No I just- I don’t have any com- questions, because I think I know more about you than probably your mom I guess.
Jared: (reels back and nods) Good to know. I’ll-I’ll have to call you and ask you stuff sometime. (mimics phone) “I was wondering!” (audience laughs)
Fan: Um, I just wanted, um, to say you’re doing a great job. (Jared: Thank you) I appreciate you guys getting up early in the morning. I know it’s hard. It.. takes a lot you out of you guys physically and mentally. (Jared nods) I’m also the one that sent you the thank you plaque. (Jared: Yeah! Okay. [nods]) And I got one here for your mom and dad.
Jared: Oh wow. Well, thank you.
Fan: For bring you into the world, because if wasn’t for you and Jensen, I wouldn’t be here today.
Jared: Well, thank you so much. (some audience aw’s)
Fan: (?The more I say?) the more I appreciate it. (audience claps)
Jared: Thank you… Thank you very much. I- I don’t know how to.. get- (looks back and forth) (audience laughs) I can leave- Can I? (gets up to hug the fan) Thank you very much. (hugs) (audience aw’s and claps) (talks to fan off mic nodding)
Audience member: You dropped the card.
Jared: (laughs) I got it thank you. Thank you (?) (picks up card that dropped on the floor) Alright, Thank you. (goes back on stage) Awesome. Thank you so much. (on mic) That’s my favorite question yet. (audience laughs) Free stuff. Free stuff. (laughs sits down and puts down the gift) Put that down. Okay, I go back to this side. (points and turns to his left) Hi!
•(26:31 JF, 15:23 SA)- Chicon07JP;Q15- On Set Happenings; funny
Fan: Hi, I’m Carly.
Jared: Hi, Carly.
Fan: Okay. Um, (audience laughs) I was watching the Ellen.. DeGeneres episode where (**Jared: **Right.) you were talking about that experience you had where thought you were dead.
Jared: That’s right. (audience and fan laugh) Yep. (nods while looking down)
Fan: I was wondering if anything like that has ever happened again on set or anything funny like that?
Jared: That was during “Flight of the Phoenix.” (laughs) That was kind of.. (fan giggles) Um, I’m starting to wish I didn’t admit that. (laughs) (audience laughs) It’ll follow me.
Um, it’s, uh- Every now and again some- some kooky stuff’ll happen on “Supernatural.” Ah, I don’t know if it’s because we’re filming or because it’s kind of where you put your head for the sake of trying to act.. more gooder. (audience laughs) So- But um, I remember there’s this episode- I re- I keep on telling this story of when we were shooting “Skin” which was the.. one- of season one where we had the brother-brother fight scene.
We were in this house- It was this big gorgeous house. And, you know, there grips putting up their grips’ stuff and electrician putting up their gas stuff. And everybody is kind of doing their own thing. And then all of a sudden, on this opposite wall, where nobody was, was a wall that, um- Outside of that wall was outside of the house. Like, it wasn’t an interior wall. It was a… (Audience: Exterior!) (smiles) exterior wall. It was the interior but exterior wall. (audience laughs) But, all of a sudden this clock just goes, (mimics clock falling) “blunk,” and falls off.
And a couple of us sort of looked over and we were like, (tilts head) “Who did that?” (audience laughs) “And why did that do that?” And then somebody, I don’t remember who it was. But, somebody just sort of walked over and.. (mimics picking up clock) picked it up and put it back on. And we all just sort of scattered. (laughs) (audience laughs)
But, every now and again there’s some- there’s some crazy things. (nods)
Fan: Well, Thank you. (Jared: Thank you) I still- I’ll agree with that person. This is the best birthday present ever. (audience aw’s)
Jared: Oh, well, Happy Birthday. Thank you.

Jensen: I’ve never felt more comfortable than I do right now. (audience screams and laughs)
Jared: (sits down) I’ve never been more attracted to your torso. (audience laughs)
Jensen: It’s a funny thing isn’t? (sits down)
Jared: I don’t know what it is. Something about the whooole.. half- (circle gestures at Jensen)
Jensen: (sits down and scoots back in his seat) Ah.
Jared: I answered two questions better than you would have. (brushes back bangs and looks around) (audience laughs)
