Pistanthrophobia, Shawn Hunter
I just wanted the title to sound fancy. This is part one<3
Reader is a black girl, 17 years old as this takes place in season five.

“Okay, what are we starting with?” Shawn asked, propping down next to Dana on the couch in the empty apartment.
“I thought we should start from the last chapter and move on from there.”
“Sounds good.”
Dana had offered to help him study for an upcoming history quiz Feeny had assigned. They had gotten over their little past relationships and had moved on to that mature stage where they could befriend one another.
“Why does he even have us going over the progressive era? Didn’t we already do this?”
“Hm. I don’t know Shawn. Maybe because you and Cory decided that Boss Tweed looked like humpty dumpty and interrupted class.”
“He does!”
Dana chuckled and moved a bit closer to Shawn on the couch. He didn’t really think much of it as they began to go over small chapters from textbooks and take notes.
It seemed to be a while, maybe 25 minutes of conversation and small jokes that Dana seemed to change the topic a bit.
“Do you ever wonder what might’ve happened?” She asked, slightly looking over to Shawn who scribbled messily in a notebook.
“What do you mean?”
“You know,” She continued, “If Mr. Turner hadn’t hit on my mom and aunt. Like would we be different. Do you ever think about it?”
Shawn slowly shrugged. ‘Well it was a really long time ago.. I don’t think about it too much. Especially now that I’m with someone.”
“Her name is Y/N, right?”
He nodded, “Yeah.”
‘Well she’s a really lucky girl.”
Shawn laughed a bit awkwardly and cleared his throat, now sitting up on the couch. They had broken up nearly two years ago so why would she choose until now to mention it. No way she would still be thinking about them after all this time.
Maybe she needed closure? He knew it had been a long time but still.
“And that wasn’t the only thing Dana.”
Now it was her turn to ask, “What do you mean?”
Shawn sighed deeply. “I’ve been with a lot of girls and I made a lot of promises because I wanted to mean them. I really did. I wanted to have what Cory had with Topanga and I though I never would. And then I met Y/N. And she made me feel these things I had never felt and those promises weren’t empty anymore, I felt the need to keep them, you know?”
“What so I wasn’t good enough for you?” She said with a raised tone and got a bit defensive.
“No! That’s not what I meant. Dana, I liked you, a lot. But I love her.”
She only nodded and moved a bit closer, Shawn raised an eyebrow. “What are you doing?”
“Trying to see if there’s still a spark.”
Dana cupped Shawn’s face with one hand, pulling him into a soft kiss. His mind went blank for a bit and time slowed. He felt nothing. It was gone. It had been gone for a while.
Meanwhile you stood in the elevator of the apartment complex with Eric and Jack, laughing at a stupid joke the pair had made after coming back from a meal at Chubbie’s.
“I’m serious!” Eric said, looking to you both.
“Eric- please. Just be lucky you’re pretty.”
He did that little giggle he does when he gets fake shy. “Thank youu~”
Jack shook his head and walked over to the apartment door, you next to him as he stuck his key in and unlocked it. Both of you froze, only him audibly gasping.
“Go in already I gotta pee!” Eric whined, pushing him way to the front. He took a second to register what they had seen and when he did he let out the most overdramatic gasp. “Wait a minute.. that’s not Y/N!”
Shawn and Dana hopped off the couch immediately and he did the cliche. “It’s not what it looks like.”
“Save it.” You muttered, dropping the bag of food on the floor before turning around to the elevator. Shawn followed quickly behind you, calling your name the whole way.
You turned around angerly, pulling your arm back before he could try and grab you.
“Don’t touch me.”
“But I-”
“Shawn, go away.”
“Please.” He sighed, stepping closer. “Please Y/N babe it’s not what it looks like I swear to god.”
“Would you have told me?” You asked, folding your arms.
“What?”
“You told Cory not to tell Topanga when Lauren kissed him so would you have kept this from me?”
He stayed quiet for a second, a second too long.
“Okay then. Goodnight.” You said with a scoff as you moved into the elevator and pressed lobby.
“But you didn’t even give me a chance to-”
The doors closed.
“-Explain...”
Dana rushed out the apartment to him, “Shawn I’m so sorry I-”
“Get out.”
“I’m sorry-”
“Get your shit and get out. Now”
She had never seen him this angry. Dana rushed back in to grab her things quickly then ran out, muttering useless apologies for ruining his relationship.
“What.. happened?” Jack asked, closing the door behind the three of them. They watched Shawn pace up and down the living room.
“She kissed me. She fucking kissed me and I didn’t kiss back because I don’t like her but now Y/N thinks I do and she hates me. Jack I messed up bad man, I should’ve pushed her off.. I should’ve never invited her-” He was unable to finish his sentence as her broke into tears.
Jack pulled his younger brother into a tight hug, patting his back. “It’s gonna be okay man. We’re gonna make sure she knows the truth. Right, Eric?”
Eric hesitated. “I mean.. Y/N’s kinda hot and like she might break up with him so..”
“Eric!”
“Fine!” He scoffed, stomping over to hug Shawn too.
