Once again thinking about how Various and Sundry Villians showed us exactly what Dean looks like when he's in love and not hiding it and how it's a recreation of how he acted in Tombstone.

have we talked yet about how 90% of what makes dean so fucking brain-rot inducing isn't even in who he is written to be, as a character, but rather in how this character was so powerful he literally possessed jensen ross ackles into doing a series of subtle jacting joices that gave dean a depth no CW network character should ever dream of having.

Dean's appeal isn't in jackles beautiful face or in the stories the writers gave him.

it's in the way his eyes are out of focus and he shakes his head when he says "and when dad got home... ". it's in the wink and the little smile he gives Cas when he says "I got laid". it's in how flustered he gets when aaron hits on him. it's in the way his shoulders tense the second John comes into frame after being all soft with Mary at the door. It's in his decision to pick up the trenchcoat from the floating water.

there's so much power in these little things Dean just does subconsciously. Dean is the only character I've ever seen who just is and as much of a wonderful actor as jensen is, I don't even think he is aware of it most of the time. and that's why it's so beautiful.

Dean just is. And Jensen just does the things Dean would do. But I just know he wasn't planning and practicing Dean's pose change when he saw John. He just did it. Because that's what Dean would do, subconsciously. But the key is in the fact that it's not intentional. It's not like he sat down with the writers and director of the episode to decide what was the best pose change for Dean in this moment. It's not planned or strategized like that. If it were, Dean would have been just another character. But he isn't. In several ways he feels real. Because Jensen isn't acting, he's just letting Dean live through him. And every thing he does adds another layer of meaning to his trauma and who he is.

Beau is allowing Jenny to hold onto him but he looks away as soon as she looks at him.

People can deny it all they want but it's right there.

jensen wasn't even playing dean as bi/into cas so imagine what we could've had if he did: would this ship have sailed to greater heights??

Going feral over the fact that Dean makes a huge deal about not telling Sam he’s going to kill himself because he thinks that Sam will be the only one who can stop him but literally does not and will not speak to Cas. Almost like he’s the one who might actually be able to talk him out of it

you know there's SO MUCH i can justify in my head about destiel related jacting joices. i have to try very very hard but i can write off almost all of them as products of non-destiel circumstances or just plain ol' things that acrue meaning through repeated gif-ing and usage in amvs. but. like. there is literally NOTHING i can think of to explain why he does that thing in My Bloody Valentine where he slyly checks cas out with a side glance, then makes the most exaggeratedly serious face that kind of exposes his inner horniness as he says, "of course we do." like i can't justify that. i can justify anything but not that. what was that.

to this day I cannot believe the jacting joices here, this man is rattled, not only is he actually getting mad at Sam razzing him about it and pulling out his Mom Voice, but he LOOKS AROUND nervously as if worried someone saw how affected he is by it, those are not the actions of a man secure in his feelings

we deserved to see the jacting joices that would have been made if cas came out as gay before the love confession

like we were so robbed of a scene where dean is once again telling a woman at a bar or something about how cas is just so devastatingly handsome or whatever and cas just goes “you would be a much more successful ‘wingman’ if you set me up with men, dean” and i would have killed to see what would happen next
