i think that at least at one point julian and jadzia were smoking when a red alert sounded and they had to scramble to ops and pretend like they werent high out of their minds on like evil romulan weed and jadzia is fine shes always pretty calm when shes high but julian is freaking OUT shaking like a wet little dog SWEATING like he thinks hes about to be court martialed and maybe hes even crying a little bit. everyone is fully aware of what is happening and they do nothing about it.

There's an actual, Watsonian explanation for why most of the aliens on Star Trek look like humans in costumes, but I tend to view the rubber foreheads as being like masks in Greek theatre; it's a staging convention, it's not what they "really" look like.

i think there's something about the amount of attention jadzia gets and how many people want things from her in some way, they want to find fragments of her past hosts in her present self, they want to learn something from her accumulated knowledge or a lot of the time they want to sleep with her. and i don't think she necessarily dislikes it i think she kind of enjoys subverting people's expectations of her but it's like all these people are fascinated by aspects about her that aren't who she is, currently, as a person. even her closest friend on the station was friends with curzon first. the idea of jadzia pre-joining as someone a bit more shy and insecure is fascinating to me because it makes things like rejoined even more heartbreaking - if she still harbours these insecurities, here's proof in her eyes that when the fascination wears off, jadzia is not someone worth staying for

the exact moment i fell in love with ds9 was ten episodes in when jadzia is trapped in a cave trying to convince sisko to leave her so that he can survive, and he says "how could i live out that life knowing i left you behind, old man?" dax tells him, "if you were hurt, i'd leave you behind." and sisko just goes "then i'm glad i'm not the one who's hurt." and yes its just star trek and yes it was 2am in my dorm but... that is love to me. complete disregard of survival of the fittest.

Hello! Thanks so much for allowing fans to ask questions. It’s super cool to get insight from someone who wrote some of our favorite episodes.

I was wondering if, in “Let He Who Is Without Sin…” part of the plan was just to let Jadzia be unabashedly queer and completely free in her sexuality? Like in her interactions with Arandis, even though it’s clear it was Curzon who had intimate relations with her, Jadzia is still flirty and intimate in a way that just oozes sexual freedom. Speaking for myself, it’s one of the things I’ve always loved so much about the character, that’s she’s just completely unashamed with her sexuality.

Absolutely, at least as far as we could go in the 90s. As much as Worf claims he was triggered by Risa in general, his inability to handle Jadzia's omnisexuality and sexual freedom is what causes his freak out. He's jealous of Arandis and worried he's not enough to Jadzia.

Not our best episode by a long shot, but I'm glad you enjoyed Jadzia's part in it.
