Polar Fracking has some unforseen consequences for Centerville, Zombies. I really liked this one, even with the slightly dry humor and slowish pacing, it reminded me of Bubba Ho-Tep, Little Miss Sunshine and like Mars Attacks..., but with more meta references (“Why does this sound so familiar?” “It’s the theme tune.”/ “I read the script, Jim gave me to the whole script.”) Repitition of dialogue, #AdamDriver in a Smart Car, Hermit Bob, the Wu-PS with #RZA, Ronnie having the Star Destroyer keychain all added to the humor, but someone said there should’ve been even more references and easter eggs, I think there were enough as I found more when I saw it a second time so there’s a rewatch value. Almost everyone turned in wel done performances, especially #CalebLandryJones as Bobby (I wana go to Bobby’s Gas and Stuff, and that line where he kind of whispers his last name after someone asks if it’s Baggins.) and #TildaSwinton as Zelda Winston, that whole intro conversation about her between Fern and Lily, and then actually seeing her, and that surprise with her at the end, smh, of course. Overall I liked it, but a few groups and storylines could’ve been cut as it didn’t seem like they add much to the story, like the kids at the detention center, or the group with #SelenaGomez. Wow. That’s all I can say about @charmcitykings. Here is a quick spoiler free review. The main character in this story is a young kid from #Baltimore named Mouse. He looks up to his older brother named Stro who is know for riding dirt bikes with a crew named The Midnight Clique. The leader of this crew is a man named Blax. Blax meets Mouse and then Mouse has a summer that he will never forget. I don’t want to go any deeper because this movie needs to be seen with anyone spoiling anything about it. It is a coming of age story and the messages throughout this movie are so powerful. Shout out to the performances by #Mouse played by @jahiwinston and #Blax played by @meekmill. I don’t know what took me so long to watch this film but I am glad I got around to it. I have been complaining about not having good hood movies to watch. This is DEFINITELY added to the list of hood movies I would recommend. There were some very questionable moments in Public Enemy’s 15th studio album. Chuck D’s lyrics and Flava Flav‘s involvement in this album are pretty much the most questionable. Hopefully, you guys remember that Flava Flav left Public Enemy because of the group’s endorsement of presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. The production in lyrics are also the most interesting in this album. I just wish this album brought back prime Chuck D and I didn’t really want it to be about a “what if”scenario. Meek Mill Shows His Acting Chops In ‘Charm City Kings’ Trailer [Video]

As we all know Philadelphia has a history of breeding of great lyricists. The City of Brotherly Love might also be proficient in producing star thespians.

Billboard is reporting that Meek Mill is showing much promise as a supporting actor. The “Going Bad” rapper has joined the cast of Charm City Kings. This project revolves around Baltimore’s popular bicycle scene making Rihmeek an ideal candidate for the role. On Wednesday, January 15 a trailer was shared with the public that makes it clear the MC is no slouch when it comes acting.

In the one minute clip we are brought closer into the dirt bike culture through the day to day of Mouse (Jahi Di’Allo Winston) as he pursues a life of riding. He is faced with not only push back from his family but also has to face police and street rivals. Meek plays Blax, an older figure in Mouse’s life trying to keep him out of danger.

According to article the film is based on the cult classic documentary 12 O’Clock Boys which followed the life of then 13-year-old Pug who seeks the join the dirt bike crew 12 O’Clock Boys. The project was filmed over a three-year period and also spotlighted the social issues in the city of Baltimore.

Charm City Kings will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival Thursday, January 27. It will officially open in select cities on April 10 with a wider release to the rest of the country on April 17. It is produced by Will and Jada Smith.
