“See you tonight, Jacob?” Brad asked his friend in the locker room, about to leave after practice.

“For sure, bro. I just gotta shower real quick and I’ll be there.” After their big win, the team had planned to celebrate with a bar crawl.

“Awesome, don't take too long, bro!” joked Brad. 

Jacob was always the last person in the locker room after games. He was the star of the team—talented, big, handsome—which meant he was highly complimented. Jacob loved nothing more than to walk around the locker room to the adoration of his teammates, flexing and showing off his godlike stature to earn their praise and remarks. 

With Brad out the door, Jacob finally went to take his shower. He stopped in front of the mirrors in front of the sinks lining the outside wall and began to put on a show for himself—he rarely passed up such an opportunity.

“I think I’ll join you,” added Brad. “I was going to shower at home, but might as well do it here.”

The right suitor could indeed wisp her away from this place, taking her with him off to one of his estates in the ocean or cloud cities. Then she scoffs. Sylla being courted by one of the Brahmins? She hasn’t even ascended yet, and her only benefaction seems to be invisibility to boys. Sylla gets up, meaning to go tell her parents that she has no intention of attending the Debut. “But the possibilities if she’s selected!” her father speaks. She opens her desk drawer and locates a pair of long-neglected scissors. She picks up the same piece of broken and glass and begins clipping away at wild and weyward strands of hair. She can do this. All she has to do is win the heart of a Brahmin and blow up the system from the inside. One way or the other, Sylla promises herself that she’ll never spend another night in these tunnels.

The Blind Date // Elsa and Jake

Elsa tapped the steering wheel of her car nervously as she waited at a red light on the way to the restaurant. Why she had let one of her teammates get her into this situation, she couldn’t for the life of her fathom. It was just a date on a dare, no big deal she told herself. Though her teammates certainly hadn’t been shy about trying to get her to actually commit to someone for a period longer than a few weeks, preferably showing her face to another person during daylight hours in addition to night time ones. It was that kind of meddling that made her wish she played an individual sport for a living. Sighing, she found street parking near the restaurant after a few minutes of searching, paid the meter and approached the dinner spot, a casual gastro pub and microbrewery with 50 local beers on tap. If all else fails, she thought, I can just get hammered. Nervously, Elsa glanced around the restaurant. No sign of her date yet, and she was five minutes late due to parking. He’s cute! You’ll love him, I promise! echoed through her head, taunting her over and over again. Yeah, he’s also almost 10 minutes late... screw it. Elsa took a seat at the bar, ordering some British Columbian IPA she’d never heard of. If she was getting stood up, you better believe she’d be coping by taking advantage of the said 50 beers on tap. It was then that she felt a tap on her shoulder. Swallowing awkwardly, she turned around. “Um, hi, I’m Elsa.”

omg rach i'm so sorry this has been sitting in my inbox for god knows how long 😭 jake is still a blank slate, so have some rough kieorah lore!

being a cycle of the night sylvari, kieorah enjoys figuring out how the world works and exploring. it's why she was drawn so inexplicably to the durmond priory - the world is so large and brilliant and she wants to figure out what makes it tick.

it's also why she was so drawn to necromancy. being a sylvari, she has an intrinsic connection to nature and the living world, but she's always had a somewhat morbid fascination with death and rebirth and the undead. sometimes she's not sure if it's an actual interest of hers, or just her wyld hunt controlling her feelings on the subject.

she gives off an impression that she's naive to some outsiders, particularly non sylvari (and it's not that, not really - she's just so young). she values honour and morality a lot, especially at first, although those kind of ideals slowly bleed away as she sees more of the world and is roughened by it. also it takes a while for her to really figure out what the humans mean by 'sarcasm'.

favours a staff or scythe for the longest time, but she eventually hones her skills enough that she can wield a greatsword as well.

her luminescence glows a sickly lime green. combined with her poison or necrotic based magic, she can give the appearance of being acidic in particularly dark lighting.

kieorah's favourite types of plants are carniverous ones!!! she has whole windowsills full of them in her home at the grove.

she goes by the nickname 'kie', but only between close friends.

also she names her little freaky minions silly little names, and will let them roam around her house freely (much to her neighbour's disgrace). she's particularly fond of her little bone minions - they may as well be dogs, for how she treats them.
