New Goth Household: Chapter 2, Part 3

Alexander was sick the day before Halloween. It's not often just one person in the household gets sick… The house hosts a Halloween party and Keira is ready to let Marta know how she feels.

Before the party everyone finishes off their projects to excellent standard, ready to present later. Harvey has stopped by to make sure James won't let Keira's younger teen brother Reece and his friends in. James assures him he has no intention of letting minors in when juice is served.

Keira comes from a premade family and it took me forever to spell her name right. That's why I'm happy that for Halloween this geek can dress up as Qi'ra from Solo. Another woman whose name is pronounced the same but spelled completely differently. Kiera, Kira, Kyra, Keera the variants never stop.

Household picture before the party starts. I must say, the party, not what I envisioned. You'll see but it's an example of "Man plans, god laughs". To equate it "watcher plans, game code laughs".

James had a headache so I sent him for a nap before dinner.

Alexander: What are you dressed as

Joey: Rich lord, ladies love them

Keira: News to me

Joey: You're a lesbian, you don't count

Alexander: It just seems very conservative for you

Joey: Skinny doesn't lend itself to topless costumes

Keira: Ah

Joey: Yo James, you feeling better

James: A little bit

Alexander: Tell me if you need to lie down, please

James: I will. What are you doing Keira

Keira: Me? Just making sure Marta has the address

Joey: I take from your smile she's not straight

Keira: Could be bi, could be pan, but I have a chance

Alexander: Will you be okay with the crowd

Keira: Isn't it just high school friends

Joey: I may have flicked a few extra ladies the invite

Keira: How many are we talking

Alexander: Don't worry about them. Focus on Marta. Let her know how you feel

Keira: I'll try, really I will, just crowds

Joey: Soz

Alexander and the juice keg meet again. Last time didn't go so well, but this is the reward keg from their last party. It'll be... okay, no, it's gone everywhere. Bouncing back from the failure Alexander tries again. Success! We have a working keg. But we also hired a bartender to be safe.

James: Hey love, is everything- woah!

Alexander: Ready for a brilliant night? Yes it is. Come here

Keira meanwhile has had her nerves take a turn. She's now seeing a few stars here and there. Deciding to do her best to ignore this emerging headache she gets started on the juice.

The party begins and the guests start arriving. Most of the buddies from high school got the costume memo but other young adults have just shown up in party outfits, ready for a good time. The mixologist showed up so that's a positive for a sims event.

Keira: Hey Mar- Ah

Marta: Ay dios mio, are you okay Keira

Keira: Yes, I'm fine, I'm fine. Your costume-

Marta: Have you met Dolores?

The two share a laugh.

Marta: Who are you

Keira: Qi'ra

Marta: Huh?

Keira: It's a Star Wars pun. It's pronounced the same but spelled different

Keira: Maybe sometime we can watch the films

Marta: That sounds fun. Are you sure you're all right?

Keira: It's just a headache, shouldn't be contagious or anything

Marta: You know what I've HEARD makes you feel better

Keira: An arepa?

Marta: *laughs* comforting hugs

Keira: Thanks Marta

Marta: I also brought you a gift

Keira: You did

Marta produces a rose.

Keira: A rose? Oh it's beautiful

Marta: A beautiful rose for a beautiful carino

Keira: I don't know that word

Marta: Maybe I'll teach it to you someday

Keira: I'd like that. Very much

Marta's smile lifts Keira's courage.

Keira: Care to duet with me

Marta: I thought you didn't like crowds

Keira: What crowd? I only see you

The two flick through the catalogue and pick Meant To Be by Marta's favourite singer Bebe Rexha. The two begin and Keira feels her worries begin to float away.

Alexander: James, are you okay

James: My head is pounding

Alexander: Lets go to bed

James: No love, we've not danced together yet

Alexander: Fine. One dance then we're going right to bed

James: Does that make us bad hosts

Alexander: I don't care, I just care about you

James: How did I get so lucky

Keira starts to realise it's not just that her worries are floating away, she's getting light headed. She figures it's just the juice and carries on.

Joey meanwhile is noticing some lingering glances from one of the guests he's invited. She's an unattached blonde and he wonders if she might like to take things upstairs. He puts on his best fake English accent and goes for it.

The girls finish to scattered applause that rings in Keira's ears as she goes from light headed to somewhat delirious.

Keira: You sounded lovely

Marta: Ay dios mio, you're covered in swirls

Keira: I do feel pretty swirly, and stary

Marta: You need rest

Keira: No, tonight is meant to be fun

Marta: It has been

Keira: But I don't want you to leave

Marta: I won't but the rest of your roommates have disappeared. You don't mind if I kick everyone else out

Keira: Kick, kick, I kick a soccer ball very well

Marta: Go upstairs and change, I'll make some tea

Keira: T is a letter

Marta: It is, now go

Keira: You're so sweet, like sweet tea

Marta: Go on

Keira: I am no longer Qi'ra, I'm Keira, ta da

Marta: *chuckles* so I see, the tea will just be a minute

Keira: I didn't know we even had a tea kettle

Marta: I dug through the cupboards

Keira: Huh. This place is so massive

Marta: It is very large

Keira: Guys and their sizes pfft

Marta: Sit down before you fall over, I'll bring the tea

Keira: Thank you. How do you say that in Spanish

Marta: Gracias

Keira: Gra-ci-as. Gracias Marta

Marta: Drink up, the tea will help

Keira: Then what

Marta: Then you sleep

Keira: No! Why? We're having fun

Marta: When we have some real fun you'll want to remember it

Keira: Do I sound drunk or is that just in my head? I'm sure I only had 1 cup of juice

Marta: Get in bed carino

Keira: Thank you, gracias, for looking after me

Marta: No problem, now sleep

Keira: But I want to talk

Marta: We'll talk when you're feeling like you and I'm not looking like Dolores

Keira: Promise

Marta: Promise carino

Marta settles at the computer while she waits for Keira to fall asleep. When she's sure Keira is sleeping restfully, she leaves, but places the rose in a vase first. That way Keira can have her memory jogged in the morning.

Side Characters

I was about to start on my backlog of stories then remembered there's some sims outside the households that you'll need to know.

First is Olive Grimm. She exists between my regular save and my timeless save (afterlife/forever save). She is married to the Grim Reaper and looks after Captain Whittaker who is in ghost form since he can be in so many saves at once.

James Ryan aka Alexander's fiance James was unhappily married to Ophelia before he met Alexander. The two dated before James proposed despite autonomous proposals being disabled. Ophelia succumbed to cardiac explosion over James leaving her. She is not missed. He owns a large mansion.

Paris is Deanna's girlfriend. Being spawned into the world as a teen she is technically alone but in my head she lives in a foster home with all the other parent-less sims. She and Deanna both still have crushes on each other which I think is the most adorable thing.

Rounding out Deanna and Reece's friend group are step siblings Noe and Tamika. They live on the same street as Deanna. The four have been friends since childhood and remain close in their teenage years.

New Goth Household: Chapter 2, Part 6

Part of what I love about rotational play is my sims being able to visit family that I'm not having to control. Keira is close with her family, Joey's sister Devin is one of his best friends and with Alexander's parents gone he has to make new family. Since I couldn't keep to my normal limit I decided to throw caution to the wind and let families catch up.

Keira: How was your shift

Marta: People always need coffee, how was class

Keira: So so. Are you ready for a challenge

Marta: What kind of challenge

Keira: Mum text me to come visit and I thought you might like to come

Marta: To meet your parents

Keira: Parents, siblings, sister-in-law

Marta: Why not

Sulani, the place where autumn and winter are relative.

Keira: Anyone home? I brought cookies

Carson: Cookies?

Reece: They smell good

Kayleigh: Are you going to introduce us to this wonderful lady you've brought with you

Marta: Gracias

Keira: Right well... Mum, dad, everyone... This is Marta, my girlfriend

Kayleigh: How long have you been seeing each other

Keira: I wasn't keeping her secret or anything, I've just been busy with university

Kayleigh: Remember, university is not the most important thing you can do in life

Keira: I know mum, I know

Marta: I asked her to be my girlfriend recently

Harvey: A woman who takes the initiative, we can always use more of those

Keira: But we actually met back when I started university, or close to that

Marta: Just before your first exams

Keira: So it's not as if we've just met

Reece: Why would we care if you just met

Keira: We're actually living together

Charlie: No kidding. Congratulations Marta, you landed a good one with my sister

Reece: Some sims have all the luck

Marta: You would not want a girl though, no

Reece: Not in a million years, gay as a maypole here

Marta: What is a maypole

Reece: I actually have no idea

Charlie: Some genius you are

Marta: I am lucky, Keira is romantic

Carson: Gross

Harvey: One day you may not think romance is gross

Carson: Never

Kaori: So what keeps you busy Marta

Marta: I'm a barista

Kaori: Serving coffee all day? Sounds like tough work. Customers can be such a pain

Reece: Plus memorising all those orders

Marta: You're not disappointed in my job

Kaori: I don't even have a job so you're already ahead of me

Harvey: We tried to teach our kids that there are many options in life

Kayleigh: University is just one path, not everybody travels it

Harvey: Finding things that make you happy, that's important

Charlie: How about your parents

Marta: They have both passed to the forever save

Kayleigh: You're so young for that loss, I'm sorry

Harvey: Please visit whenever you need substitute parent hugs or advice

Marta: Gracias

Keira is delighted at how well things go, no one hates the cookies either.

Before long however the sun is setting and it's time to head back home.

Harvey: Good to see you kiddo

Keira: And you dad

Harvey: That Marta is a keeper

Keira: She's pretty great

Harvey: Just remember you're only 21, it's fine to take your time with things

Keira: I know dad, I love you loads

Keira: I don't think that could have gone better

Marta: Si. Your family is so friendly

Keira: We're all very close. Thank you for coming with me

Marta: Sulani reminds me of the beaches back in Cuba

Keira: Really

Marta: We weren't there long but I have good memories. Now I get to make more with you

Joey has been working hard on his mobile app so his sister Devin wanted to treat him to dinner. Joey is also creeped out at Caleb vampire running to the table. Come on dude, humans cannot keep up. Joining them is Devin's wife Luna and both of Joey's parents, Calista and Aaron.

Aaron: Most of this looks pretty adventurous

Joey: Watcher can't be bothered sorting out another in game restaurant right now

Calista: Sure son

Luna: OMW they have pasta

Devin: Lu I make you pasta all the time

Luna: But this one comes with a boatload of sauce

Calista: You are eating for three

Devin: Hi, could I please have a simsmapolitan. Just water for my wife, she's pregnant

Luna: Like she couldn't tell from looking at me

Devin: And I'm paying for everyone so we'll just need the one cheque at the end

Joey: Are you sure?

Devin: You may dream of being a tech guru but you're not there yet

Joey: Any updates on the Goth case pa

Aaron: I really should keep that between me and my clients

Joey: You know whatever you tell Alexander he's just going to tell me anyway

Devin: He's right

Aaron: We got the footage of Milton walking unattended up the drive to the courts, but a judge has to review

Joey: Do you think they'll be able to get Milton back

Aaron: I think so, the finances will take longer

Joey: Sis did you hear Dina called Alexander a golddigger

Devin: OMW she did not! What a hypocrite

Joey: Right! She's so ridiculous

Devin: What about Alexander's half siblings

Joey: Yeah, they exist

Devin: But will- Oh! Our food

Aaron: How do you suppose I'm meant to eat this

Joey: With your mouth

Aaron: Well thank you Joey

Luna: I cannot wait to dig into this

Callista: It looks nice but Yorks do pasta best

Luna: I'll let you know when I'm finished

Callista: Fill up those bambinos

Luna: Yes Ma'am

Devin: Seriously, they're Alexanders half siblings though, he must have some opinion

Joey: He's pretty focused on Milton

Calista: They tie Dina into his family forever

Luna: Calling the boy after his dead father, ghoulish

Devin: Seems nice to me

Luna: Because you're a cheerful sim schatz

Luna: Eve is a nice enough name for the girl but- oh dear

Devin: You okay Lu

Luna: Just some nausea it'll pass

Calista: I told you, those bambinos prefer York pasta

Aaron: Italians do it better

Joey: I've been told that

Calista: *laughs*

Aaron: Watcher save us from bro humour

Joey: Sorry pa, I'll keep my manners

Devin: This food really isn't too bad

Joey: I'm guessing you don't have the refined palate quirk yet

Devin: Wait- no I do

Joey: So how can you eat normal quality food without being sick

Devin: You should see some of what is on offer on set, the vegetables barely remember they're vegetables

Joey: Glamour of acting

Devin: I'm not sure how much time I'll get on set when the boys arrive though, I want to support Luna

Luna: Aww *blows kiss*

Devin: *grins*

Aaron: Remember if you need help we're just a phone call away

Joey: And me. I'm almost finished my degree so I can lend a hand

Luna: You're welcome anytime Joey

Joey: I'll be the cool uncle

Devin: Seriously though. When you've finished studying, if you need a place we have a spare room

Joey: You sure

Luna: We know how hard it is to establish yourself in Del Sol Valley

Devin: If you want to move in, just ask

The meal ends and goodbyes begin.

Joey: Bye you two, don't beat each other up too much in there

Calista: Luna seems to be coping well

Devin: I know she feels like a beached whale

Calista: Your bambinos will be here before you know it

Devin: I'm still worried about juggling twins

Calista: Remember help is a phone call away

James: Shall I compare thee to a summers day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate

Alexander: Aw sweets. You don't have to read me poetry to impress me

James: I know love but it makes you smile, and I love to see you smile

Alexander: I can't believe the wedding is tomorrow, it feels like-

Alexander: -we've been waiting forever

James: I know I've waited my whole life for you

Alexander: Aww sweets-

James: I mean it. You're the high point of my life

Alexander: Promise you'll stick around

James: I'll dodge the reaper as long as I can love

Alexander: Until then, be with me

James: Every night

New Goth Household: Chapter 2, Part 5

The bizarre sims code decided to have Marta propose living together 3 interactions after she asked Keira to be her girlfriend. For storylines I made it the other way around. I didn't want them taking a relationship hit so they're living together but still taking some time with their relationship since Keira doesn't have lots of experience and Marta's last relationship was a whirlwind emotionally abusive one.

In this part the household adjusts to the fluffy and human additions, Joey checks out Geekcon and we see Alexander's younger brother Milton.

Keira: I didn't expect you to have absolutely nothing

Marta: But it's a lot

Keira: When we put it away I'm sure it will be fine. We may just have a few boxes around, but I'll take stuff out so we can both share the dresser

Marta: And the bed?

Keira: Yeah... I've been thinking about that

Keira: I'm happy you moved in and I get to see you more but-

Marta: You're worried I'll get memories of my last whirlwind romance

Keira: I'm not going to place blame on you for a me issue. Living together is a big step, I want to savour it. Not run up the whole staircase at once. Don't mistake me-

Keira: I absolutely dream of woohooing you

Marta: *laughs*

Keira: But I'd like to keep the bed for sleep for now. Are you worried about your bad memories?

Marta: A little. He was the only partner I've lived with before you. But I like your plan. Can we still cuddle in bed

Keira: Just try and stop me

So Keira and Marta fall asleep. It's been a day of changes, becoming girlfriends, having their first kiss, moving in together, they don't want to rush anything else just this second. Sleep is all they do, at least until something bizarre happens. Gertrude wakes them up, despite being locked out.

I deliberately locked the cats out of Keira and Joey's rooms. But Gertrude (seen in birds eye view on the left side, between the seat and stairs) manages to yowl awake the women. Yep, you read right. Through a planter box and wall her wails rouse them from slumber. Darn mischievous cat.

Marta: It's 4am, why are we awake

Keira: Cats defy physics. I really need to be rested for class

Marta: Don't worry, I'll go tell her off, back in a minute

Gertrude: *yowls*

Marta: Ay dios mio, quiet! You have dads you can wake up

Gertrude: *yowls*

Marta: It's not polite to wake up people in the middle of the night

Marta: I think she'll stop for a while. Hey you okay, you looked spooked

Keira: I just had a bad dream

Marta: Tell me, that's what I'm here for no

Keira: I was crushed by a murphy bed

Marta: Eek. Sounds awful, but it's over now carino. No murphy beds here

Keira: You're right, let's go back to sleep

They slept for a bit before Marta had to get up for her barista shift. Keira would have slept in but this little scamp, Hamlet, copied Gertrude. Yep, he woke her up from the other side of the wall and planter box. James slept in, it's not like they couldn't wake him up.

Me being me though, I can't stay mad at cats. Hamlet is just so adorable. Marta heads off early to work and I spend most of the day following the cats while the humans juggle classes and homework.

Poor Joey. He dislikes fitness but I still force him to workout now and then to keep him healthy. He's probably going to keep his beanpole physique for a while yet. I'm not a completely terrible watcher and give him a trip to Geekcon. Joey enters the hack-a-thon, but gets a pretty low score despite his level 10 skill.

He takes some time to play around with the tech on offer. Then he checks out the sparklers. Having never tried them in game before I'm entranced! I wait for the hack-a-thon results... and wait... and wait... and the festival is over with no results. You win in my heart Joey!

Joey: Hey pa

Aaron: You were going to be here for dinner

Joey: Sorry, there was a glitch with the festival

Aaron: Well come in, I have some case work to file but let's talk before you leave

Joey: Any update on getting Milton for Alexander

Aaron: Nothing new at the moment

Kelly: Ew it's you

Joey: I'm also thrilled to be in your presence

Kelly: Get up to any chaos lately

Joey: Sure. The watcher has been perusing new mods

Kelly: You're so weird and loony

Joey: There's this one all about dreams that's being trialed

Kelly: Sure there is

Joey: Just wait. You think you'll have a good day then wham! Nightmare!

Kelly: But that won't be a kid problem

Joey: Who knows, the watcher can't remember if kids will have nightmares but I think they will

Kelly: You're lying

Joey: Anyway you'll be a teen soon. So many things to have nightmares about

Kelly: Shut up

Joey: Acne! Social mortification! Puberty!

Kelly: MA! Joey's being a turnip!

Calista: Let your brother be

Kelly & Joey: He started it!

Calista: Go to bed Kelly, it's getting late

Kelly: Whatever

Joey: Good to see you ma

Calista: Did you come just to wind up Kelly

Joey: No. I'm taking this knitting course-

Calista: You are! Sweet

Joey: Can you give me some help

Calista: Of course I can, I practically knit in my sleep

The two sit down and talk yarns, hooks and needles. Joey is still learning but Calista gives him some good starter tips for his projects.

Calista: Thanks for coming by, you're a good son

Joey: I try ma

Calista: I love you

Joey: Me to ma

Joey: What did you want to talk about

Aaron: Are you being safe

Joey: Of course. Besides the watcher doesn't include the WTD part of RPO

Aaron: I mean with pregnancy son

Joey: Oh yeah, of course I am

Aaron: Because if you end up fathering a kid, you need to look after them

Joey: Pa, I'm being safe, promise

Aaron: I'm not against you having kids-

Joey: I know, you're always championing our Italian genes. I want kids someday, but not yet

Aaron: You do?

Joey: Yeah, I'd love a mini me. I just don't want a wife to raise them with

Aaron: And you're making sure the ladies know that

Joey: OMW yes pa

Back home Joey gets stuck in making a mobile app. Gertrude wakes up James from a nap but he teaches her not to wake up sims. Hopefully no cat alarm now. But a mischievous cat will not be contained. The next day Gertrude kicks trash out of the bin and encourages Hamlet to try eat it. EWW

Unable to avoid it any longer, Keira has to do some baking. I mean she's doing a baking paper after all. She still gets a tense moodlet from not liking cooking (but girl this is baking). She makes some oatmeal cookies with raisins. Joey gets my inside jokes.

What is that small speck? Let me zoom in. It's Milton! Having gotten bored with Dina and Nina fawning over newborns he has decided to break out and come see big brother Alexander. Yes it's a different neighbourhood but after crossing the road to see Cassandra, no distance can stop waddling Milton!

When Alexander knocks on the door to his old house Nina answers with mild surprise.

Nina: Oh Milton, we've been looking everywhere

Alexander: You look frantic. Dina, delivery

Dina: What were you doing with him

Alexander: Excuse me

Dina: Did you kidnap my son

Alexander: My brother knocked on my door

Dina: Surprised you heard it over the sound of your golddigging

Alexander: You're one to talk

Dina: Get out of my house you spoiled brat, you're never getting Milton

But arriving home Alexander has an idea.

Keira and Marta meet up, grow closer, and Keira extends an invitation to the halloween party. Alexander and James enjoy some time alone. What remains of the Goth family (excluding Dina's newborns) meet up to usher in Halloween.

So alone Keira head to Pepper's Downtown Strip where she gives Marta a call.

Marta: Hola

Keira: Hey, it's Keira

Marta: Si, I saw your name

Keira: Oh, right

Marta: Everything okay

Keira: If you're not busy I thought we could have a catch up at Pepper's

Marta: Si, give me a few minutes

Keira: Sure

Marta: I hope I'm not late

Keira: Can't be late if we never set a time

Marta: Gracias

Keira: How have you been, I haven't seen you in the music suite lately

Marta: My idiot ex finally realised I was using his ID to access campus and took it back

Keira: Oh. He did...

Marta: Sorry, let's not talk of him

Keira: I mean, I wouldn't like you thinking you couldn't talk to me about something

Marta: He really wasn't that interesting. But maybe there are some things you should know

Keira: Come on, tell me

While Keira tried to put on a happy face, her heart sank. It seemed like Marta was straight.

If Keira couldn't romance her she could at least be a good friend and listen, right?

Marta: He seemed really nice. We had a, a whirlwind romance. Before I knew what was happening, we were living together

Keira: Sounds nice

Marta: It may have seemed like it, but it was not

Keira: What do you mean

Marta: It was not much at first, just a joke here and there at my expense, I thought with Simlish as my second language I was being over sensitive

Keira: But you weren't

Marta: I was not. Everyday it was little things, chipping away at my confidence, spooking my friends, laughing when I hurt myself

Marta: Finally enough was enough and I left

Keira: He hurt you

Marta: Only on the inside, I am stronger now because of it

Keira: That's why you're always telling me not to talk myself down

Marta: Si

Keira: Has he tried getting you back

Marta: Sometimes

Keira: So, got any guys in your sights now

Marta: *laughs* No, no. I think I'll stick to girls for a while, like you

Marta: You like girls, no

Keira: I... do. Yes... mm hmm

Marta: Good, a body like yours should not be wasted on a man

Keira could feel herself blushing at Marta's words.

This conversation was suddenly going in a direction Keira had not expected and she tried to regain herself.

Keira: Are you always so forward

Marta: Do you not like compliments

Keira: No, I like compliments as much as the next girl

Marta: I apologise if I made you uncomfortable

Keira: I'm not uncomfortable

Keira: But since we're on the subject you have to know you're a knockout

Marta: Gracias but you are changing the subject from you

Keira: What about me

Marta: You really do not like to talk yourself up, do you

Keira: I know ex's are bad conversation but since you told me about yours... mine cheated on me because I wouldn't woohoo her back in high school

Marta: She was loca

Keira: You know her?

Marta: I do not have to. Cheating on you would be loca

Keira: I... Thanks

Marta: Right answer

Keira: *laughs* So, um, tomorrow is Halloween

Marta: Si

Keira: My roommates are throwing a party, and there'll be a karaoke machine. Will you come to it?

Marta: You want me to sing in front of people

Keira: Half of them will be too wasted to notice, but yeah, I like hearing your voice

Marta: If you want me there, I'll be there

Keira: Oh, it's dress up, so you'll need a costume

Marta: I'm sure I can think of something by then

Keira: So tomorrow then

Marta: Tomorrow

Keira: I'll text you the address

Marta: Adios

As Marta pulled Keira in for an embrace she felt a weight lift from her chest. She had tried to convince herself she didn't care if Marta was interested in her, but holding her close she knew that this was exactly what she wanted.

Keira: You feeling any better

Alexander: Yes. James gave me some tea and sent me to nap, now I'm all good

While James made some pumpkin stew the students sat and finished off the homework they had left. Finishing it today would mean they could properly enjoy Halloween and their party.

Joey was the first to finish his coursework. Satisfied he'd done enough work today he opened the Mix & Mingle app and checked which women nearby were cool for a casual hook up. After finding one he went outside to let her in, worried she'd think the mansion address was him catfishing her.

Nala: You really live here

Joey: It's technically my friends house but yes

Nala: And you're so young, normally when people say 20 on the app they're actually 30

Joey: Don't mistake my youth for inexperience though, I have some skill

Nala: Is that so

Joey: Come upstairs and see

As normal, Joey checked before getting intimate that Nala understood he wouldn't develop romantic feelings. He had no interest in woohooing someone who wanted to prove differently. Luckily she felt the same. They got to it and Joey's count raised to four. Again, like normal, he took a quick photo.

After being sick Alexander had a lot of coursework left so sent James upstairs to nap, promising to join him when he could. Technically he didn't have to get a degree, he'd get enough money in inheritance and marriage, but he knew is mother would want him to get one. Eventually he climbed upstairs.

He didn't like waking James up but his fiancé insisted that he always wake him when he got to bed.

Alexander: Wake up sweets

James: Hmm

Alexander: I'm here

James: Did you get your homework done

Alexander: Yes Mr Ryan. Can I give you a massage to boost my grade

James: I'll have you know I'm immune

Alexander: Immune to my charms

James: Never, just immune to grade tampering

Alexander: I know, I'm not my father

James: Thank the watcher for that

Alexander: Now are you sure you're okay with hosting a wild college party

James: This is our home, I want you happy here

Alexander: I'm happy with you

James: As I am with you, but I don't want you cheated of the college experience because you're tethered to me

Alexander: I want to be tethered to you

James: The wedding is this week, think of the Halloween party as a bachelor party love

Alexander: Promise me if you get tired you'll rest, okay

James: Yes

Alexander: Because I want as much time with you as possible

James: What for exactly

Alexander: Accompany me to bed and find out

Alexander needs to be careful not to let James overexert himself, but they still manage to have a good time.

Dina: Are you here to see your siblings

Alexander: I don't care about your suspicious offspring, what are you wearing?

Dina: I'm dressed as a zombie. Your brother loved doing the make up

Alexander: Whatever, can I take him to Cassandra's for Halloween

Dina: Today only, you bring him right back after or so help me

Halloween time! I almost lost my mind when I found toddler costumes for Savannah and Mercedes that matched their honeybee and little ladybug nicknames. Of course we had to make sure each toddler got a copy of the photo for their futures. And couldn't visit without seeing Savannah throw a fuss.

James chatted to Rahul and Cassandra while Alexander said hi to his nieces. He gave each of them a family kiss. In response they autonomously gave him a loving hug. Little cuties!

New Goth Household: Chapter 2, Part 1

Black Widow aspiring Alexander is engaged to elder James. He and his two best friends have moved into the mansion owned by James while they finish university.

In this part the household catch up over breakfast. Later they head to the library where the main trio gossip more than study.

Photo is not from this rotation but it's my favourite pic of the three best mates.

Staying in Willow Creek but moving up from Courtyard Lane to the Sage Estates. Here lies a mansion which has been in the Ryan family for several hundred years. Rather than end his days alone, James has moved in his young fiancé Alexander who is accompanied by his two best friends, Joey and Keira.

James has had a rough life. Despite growing up cushioned by his wealth and white privilege his strict father envisioned a specific life, one that did not allow his son being gay. At his fathers behest he married wealthy debutante Ophelia and endured decades of marriage by her side.

Alexander met James and despite their age difference fell hard for the man who kept things close to his chest. James grappled with his feelings but in the end could not resist the Goth. Finding strength in love he announced his feelings to Ophelia. Yeah, she had a cardiac explosion in response.

With the disappearance of his mother, and the death of his father, Alexander Goth is looking forward to the stability marriage can provide. He would have liked to have his younger brother Milton with him, but Dina Caliente is not budging after wrangling control of the Goth fortune and guardianship.

Joey York may be a tech genius, graduating high school early and already having maxed his programming skill, but can't fight his inherited bro trait. Boy loves to party and his life aspiration is to woohoo 30 different sims. Being aromantic he has no desire for romantic sentiment anyway.

Keira Foster dreams of finding her soulmate. She's left her broken teenage romance behind and has thrown herself into her studies. Despite dreaming of finding the one, she is a loner and prefers spending time with her friends and family that she is close to.

The household is up early for breakfast. A new university term has begun for the young adults.

Joey: Sweet, pancakes

Alexander: I'm impressed they survived the move to be honest

James: You can certainly cook Joey

Joey: You know it bro

Keira: Is this where you thank your Italian heritage

Joey: Si donna *laughs*. Although Deanna's skill seems to be limited like yours

Keira: Hey

Joey: I'm sorry, did you suddenly learn to cook and not tell us? Am I inaccurate?

Alexander: *chuckles*

Keira: I did a terrible grand breakfast one time, one time

Joey: It was so bad the watcher had to save it

James: The watcher can do that

Alexander: Sweets, don't encourage his paranoia

Joey: I may be paranoid but that doesn't mean I'm wrong. The watcher is watching us

Keira: Sure, BRO, sure

Joey: Don't be salty

James: Have you all made plans for tomorrow

Keira: Tomorrow?

Alexander: HALLOWEEN my favourite

Joey: Let's have a party

Keira: Your solution to everything

Alexander: I don't know

James: Well don't worry about me, I'm old but not dead

Alexander: Are you sure

James: Love, if you want to party, have a party

Joey: *cheers*

James: Besides, you love dress up

Alexander: Sweets, you'll offend Keira

Joey: *chuckles*

Keira: OMW stop! You like to act as if my not having had woohoo makes me a prude

James: Me and Ophelia didn't have our first woohoo for years

Joey: But bro- you're gay

Alexander: *snorts*

James: My point is that everyone is ready at different times

Joey: She knows I don't judge her

Joey: You know I don't judge you right

Keira: I know you two make fun, but I also know you were both telling me not to woohoo Morgan if I wasn't ready, and I'm glad I didn't

James: When you find your person Keria, the woohoo will be worth waiting for

Alexander: I'm going to take that as a compliment

Joey: When the time comes I can tell you moves that will drive the ladies wild

James: This is my cue to leave

Alexander: I gotta start on my presentation

Keira: Ugh, same

Joey: I'm only doing two papers and I still have to do one as well

Alexander: Excuse me while I cry

Joey: Thanks bro

Alexander is working on a distinguished degree in language and literature. His core papers this semester are To Thrill & Talk Absurd (charisma) and Chronicling and Memoir (research & debate). For his elective he's doing Intro to Comedy: Life or Art (comedy).

Joey is doing a distinguished degree in computer science. He wants to be a tech guru and entrepreneur. His core class is Breaking Bad Botnets (mischief) while he's chosen Get Knit (knitting) for his elective. Since he started university as a teen he only needs those two to graduate.

Keira is studying a distinguished degree in biology. Her core classes are The Sunlight Cycle (gardening) and The Mathematics of Biology (logic). For her elective she's challenging herself with Baking Macarons and Macaroons (baking). She's not too sure what her plans after university are yet.

When everyone has made an acceptable start they have a late lunch and head to the university library.

Joey: Why are we here, your mansion has a library

Alexander: So I can study where my fiance's wife died, no thanks

Keira: Plus it's nice and quiet here, no distractions

Joey: Except for one

Keira: No idea what you mean

Joey: The cute latina who sings in the music room down below

Alexander: She's got a great voice

Joey: And a great ass

Alexander: Conveniently seen from your favourite spot

Keira: She's not even here, why are we talking about her

Joey: Are you saying you don't call dibs

Keira: I- I don't even know if she's queer okay

Joey: But you agree she's hot

Keira: Of course, I'm not blind you moron

Joey: I thought she flirted with you that time at Pepper's though

Keira: Maybe but she's mentioned her ex since and I get the feeling it was a guy

Alexander: Wait you're texting

Keira: Yeah

Alexander: Since when

Joey: Bro this is what you miss when you're busy with family drama

Alexander: Good to know Dina has also ruined my gossip intake

Joey: Even if her ex is a he, the percentage of bisexuals in this save is way higher than average, so there's a good chance she's bi

Keira: If you say so

Joey: Watcher says so

Alexander: Dude, we're trying to have a serious conversation

Joey: I am serious. Point is, you won't know if she's into chicks unless you ask so don't just assume Keira: Alexander, how did you know James was gay. Like how did you know he'd be receptive

Alexander: I didn't. I just knew he had a fortune and figured it was worth a shot

Joey: I love how you don't even hide you were interested in his money as well

Alexander: He knows and doesn't care so why should anyone else

Keira: That seems like a healthy attitude

Joey: I'm thinking, karaoke machine

Keira: What

Joey: We hire a karaoke machine for the party

Alexander: Because drunken singing is always great

Joey: Because she likes to sing and Keira can use that to get her to come to the party without having to make it a date date

Keira: I guess that could work

Joey: Who's the best genius around

Alexander: You know, I don't feel so good, I think I'm coming down with something

Joey: Perfect

Alexander: What?

Joey: I just meant we'll head back and Keira can stay around here and meet up with Marta

Keira: Maybe I will

Joey: Come on, be brave

Keira: Fine, I'll ask her, doesn't mean she'll say yes

Goth Household: Chapter 7, Part 5

Final part is up for the Goths. Things are rockier than I had anticipated. The Caliente sisters have started working in the Goth mansion and Bella has disappeared. Mortimer reflects and Dina delivers some uncomfortable news to the Goth children.

TW: This part contains sim death and afterlife depictions

Mortimer is busy raising his logic skill outside when he spots something. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope. It's a physics defying meteor heading right towards him! Doesn't even make a hole in the house.

Turns out fate overrides my story plans and the meteorite lands with a cloud of dust on top of Mortimer. Alas the meteorite is not worth any simoleons. Here comes Grimm to seal the deal. Unless someone can convince him otherwise...

Looks like Grimm is waiting for Milton to descend the steps before going over to Mortimer, how polite of him. Dina comes outside and is immediately struck by how lovely and clean the air is. Eventually she realises Mortimer has been killed and grief and panic set in.

Since she is feeling flirty Dina goes and attempts to seduce Grimm into spearing Mortimer. He just laughs at her. Milton may have disliked his father but witnessing his death is scary, especially as no one knows where him mummy is. He has a cry and even Grimm feels horrified at the situation.

Mortimer: Oh that was close, better post about it

Olive: Really

Mortimer: My followers will love it, wait, no signal

Olive: Can't get signal in a place that doesn't exist physically

Mortimer: Huh

Olive: You died

Mortimer: Take me back, I'm a global superstar, I'm not finished

Olive: It doesn't work that way, strap in superstar

Mortimer: Strap in? What is going on

Olive: Can you tell me what was happening here

Mortimer: Bella was complaining

Olive: About what

Mortimer: I don't remember

Olive: Why not

Mortimer: I guess... I just stopped listening to her

Olive: Why? You were in love

Mortimer: We were, for half a minute

Olive: I don't think a couple of decades of marriage is half a minute

Mortimer: What do you know? You hang out on a beach, you probably don't even have a degree

Olive: I do not

Mortimer: Has she... you know

Olive: Travelled on my ferry? Oh dude I'm not telling you either way, spoilers!

Olive: What's this

Mortimer: Milton was being rude so I told him off

Olive: Was he being rude, or was he learning to talk

Mortimer: He should learn manners no matter how young

Olive: And what about here? Should he be learning manners here

Mortimer: I was mad at him for drawing attention so...

Olive: So...

Mortimer: I crushed his dreams alright!

Olive: Did he deserve that

Mortimer: He needed to learn that the world is a tough place. He cries for his mummy with every problem. He needs to harden up, and grow up.

Olive: Should he learn that lesson from his father

Mortimer: Who are you, the parenting police? Do you have children

Olive: I have Captain

Mortimer: Dogs don't count

Olive: Excuse you but fur babies absolutely count

Mortimer: This memory isn't relevant

Olive: Watcher says it is

Mortimer: Fine. I'm telling James if he doesn't cancel his engagement to Alexander I'll tell the school board he seduced his student

Olive: How'd that go

Mortimer: He told me Alexander would never forgive me, and he would love him still. What kind of idiot isn't afraid of criminal charges?

Mortimer: This exercise is ridiculous! Don't even start showing me how I supposedly failed Cassandra

Olive: Actually we don't have film to roll of that

Mortimer: You seem to have everything else

Olive: Turns out you hadn't spent enough time talking to her or her daughters, you know you're granddaughters, for you to have deep memories

Mortimer: That- that can't be right

Olive: It is

Mortimer: Dina. Why am I seeing her

Olive: Looks like she made an impression on you

Mortimer: She did. I only knew her a day but I could see myself happy with her

Olive: I'm sorry when any love is cut short

Mortimer: I knew things were over with Bella, they have been for longer than I'd wanted to admit. Dina was there, absolutely perfect for me

Olive: Despite appearances this isn't meant to be a guilt trip. I don't care how good or bad you were. I care about you being ready to move on

Mortimer: To the timeless save

Olive: Yes. All sims deserve to rest, no matter what they have or have not done

Mortimer: I did what I thought was right

Olive: Then, deep breath, and let it all go

Mortimer: Hold on, am I a teen again

Gunther: Greetings son

Mortimer: Father? Mother?

Cornelia: It's good to see you again

Mortimer: I missed you both, a lot

Gunther: We know son, we know

And with that Mortimer is at peace in the timeless save

Dina: We had such a short time together

Milton: Father is dead

Nina: Yeah kiddo he is

Milton: I miss my mummy. I want my mummy!

Alexander: What is going on?

Dina: What are you doing here

Cassandra: James saw the meteorite and I saw Grimm hanging around across the street. What have you done to father? Is he dead?

Nina: We did nothing! No one can control meteorites

The Calientes continue to sob while the Goth children are in shock at the loss so soon after their mother has been declared missing.

Alexander: I know this isn't how we imagined being engaged would look like but could we...

James: Absolutely love, he's family

Dina: What are you talking about?

Alexander: We'll adopt Milton

Dina: You can't do that! It is a violation of the contract!

Alexander: Weird joke. We need to gather his things

Dina: You're not taking him anywhere

James: Who put you in charge

Nina: Our contract stated if anything were to happen to Bella and Mortimer we would be Milton's guardians and control the estate

Cassandra: You two? Look after my brother and our money? You're strangers!

Dina: You wouldn't want to upset your fathers last wishes now would you dear

Cassandra: I don't care what he wished, that isn't right

Dina: Calm down, I don't care for your tone

Cassandra: I will not calm down. You are not family. You have no right to him or our money

Dina: Tell that to the lawyers

Alexander: Can we visit

Nina: Maybe you could-

Dina: Not until you accept the situation

Milton: *confused and sad*

Dina: Come son, we're going home

With that Dina scoops Milton up and she and Nina walk away from the rest of the family who are reeling from the shock

Nina: Did we really have to announce it like that

Dina: They would have found out about the contract sooner or later

Nina: And if they discover it's fake

Dina: It is not fake. He may have signed it after a particularly long woohoo session but he signed it

Nina: And I'm meant to say I saw this

Dina: Yes

Dina: It needs to have had two witnesses so that's our story

Nina: But what now? What do we do with this estate

Dina: We're going to run this estate and gleam every penny we can before Milton comes of age, by then he has to love us enough to support us financially

Nina: Turn on the charm, got it

So the sisters become invested in Milton's happiness. If they look after him then, when the estate is no longer theirs, he may look after them. For now, Nina plays the doting aunt and Dina takes over the bedtime reading to her "son". Okay this rotation is finished for real now.

Goth Household: Chapter 6, Part 3

The end of this chapter for the Goths.

Most weekdays pass in the some pattern for a while. Milton is read to sleep but inevitably gets up despite being exhausted, meaning he sleeps in a lot. He mostly goes to daycare while his parents are working but looks at books when he gets home since he can't read just yet.

Mortimer and Bella continue sleeping in separate rooms but when they both have a day off she finally gets him to cross the road.

Mortimer: It's snowing pretty hard

Bella: A little snow never killed anyone

Mortimer: Except everyone who has ever frozen to death

Bella: Just go knock

Knock, and the door will open!

Mortimer: Anyone here?

Cassandra: Of course father

Mortimer: Are my granddaughters...

Rahul: In the main bedroom

Mortimer goes in and coos at both of the twins. This unfortunately wakes them up and the girls get upset.

Mortimer: Shush, calm down

Cassandra: Father I've got this

Mortimer: I'll talk to Rahul *leaves*

Cassandra: There there, did you just need a comfort bottle?

Bella: You're so good with them

Cassandra: I learned from you remember. What I don't know, Rahul and I puzzle out together, as a team

Bella also gets Mortimer to go visit James when Alexander is in the neighbourhood.

Mortimer: This place is huge

Alexander: It's been in his family for generations apparently

Bella: You'll need a map when you move in

Alexander: Tell me about it, there's so many rooms

Mortimer: How's teaching

James: It's fine but I'll probably stop once Alexander moves in

Milton: ander! ander!

Alexander: Yes Milton

Milton: Car, Car! Vroom!

Bella: It's his favourite toy right now, he'll probably name it soon

Alexander: It looks very... red?

Milton: *giggles*

James: He's so good with kids

Bella: I was afraid when I got pregnant that he and his sister would struggle but they love Milton

James: Families should love each other

Bella: In an ideal world, yes

James: If things with Mortimer ever get more difficult, you're welcome here

Bella: I would never give up my home without a fight but thank you

Alexander: What are you two discussing

James: The wedding of course

Bella: Are you thinking big do, small affair, tell me your plans

James: We're still brainstorming

Bella: Whatever it is, I'll be there

Happy to report that Milton can now talk. For the moment it's the end of the Goth round. Mortimer and Bella are still in their rough patch and are no longer soulmates. Will Milton reaching toddlerhood make things better or worse in the coming weeks? I do not know.
