love the fact that in the film Jamie is working on lemon curd for the meringue when the whole scene with Emily happens and then in the series his dessert in ep 2 is the same lemon meringue!! Such nice continuity

TW:slight blood/sh/suicide/spoilers
there's something about this scene that's so mwah yk? like obviously i don't promote SH/suicide but the acting is just PERFECT the emotion emily had when she walked in on jamie's barley alive body, and the scene with holly crying after cleaning up the blood in the bathroom while johnnie was comforting her as a person who's actually had suicide attempts with razor blades JESUS FUCK this whole scene
then the part where jamie wakes up in hospital apologizing to emily as if it's his fault😭
then he says "you're my mum"😭💗
PLS i'm crying i can't stop thinking about the mother-son relationship these 2 have and how they aren't making a season 2 yet (from what i know)😭

tw: self-harm
I just have to say, the scene with Jamie and Emily in Boiling Point (2021) where she sees his cuts was so beautiful and, to me, perfectly executed. Although we do not get to see their conversation, we get to see the clear support and love that Emily feels for Jamie, and the seriousness that she feels about the situation.
As someone who has unfortunately had that conversation and had it go very poorly with little-to-no mention of it afterwards, this scene was so amazing. The overwhelming emotion and the reassurance and the support was just perfect. It was such a short moment in the film but hit so hard because of how realistic (yet idealistic) it was. I just can't stop thinking about that scene because it really did reflect everything I wanted my mother to embody when she found out about my self-harm. This is one of the reasons why I think tv (and media in general) is so powerful. Although Jamie and Emily are fake people with fake interactions and fake feelings, they are so much more than that. They reflect real-life experiences and they do it so well.
What was shown in the 2023 series version of Boiling Point was just as beautiful. I have seen multiple showings of self-harm/suicide in tv and movies but this depiction of it was no doubt the most captivating and touching.
(disclaimer: I am not saying self-harm itself is beautiful/amazing/captivating/touching or anything good)
