I think Roy kind of has that residual trauma of childhood bullying where he kind of always feels like he's a cringe loser and Jamie is too cool for him
❥: barefoot, sleepy wanderings for jamie and a certain nightmare man? :-)
ah sure why not XD.
Prompt list from here
The wallpaper pulsed in time with their head as the The Author's shoulder met with the wall with a thud, their form buckling under the strain of illness. They pushed onward through the haze , to what end, they did not know.
A shakey hand reached out for support, as they forced themself upward and further through the room. The carpet was soft beneath their feet as they stumbled on, their slippers lonely and cold where they were forgotten by the bedside.
There was no worries of a chill in the room - even if they could feel beyond the fever, the hotel rarely let its guests grow cold. Not without reason, anyways.
They took a step forward.
And then another.
Further, and further yet - perhaps they would make it do the door after all.
Or perhaps not.
All at once, their support wavered, whatever rebuilt strength they had blowing away like a disregarded napkin on a windy day. They felt their knees buckle, and knew they were going to fall seconds before it happen. At least they would land somewhere soft.
They braced themself for the impact, and yet, it never came.
Instead of falling against the alluringly soft fabric of the floor, they found themself held up by the familiar feel of leather gloves.
"Now, where were you getting off to, hm?"
Jamie blinked up through their feverish gaze, The Manager's form seeming all the more blurry where he stood in front of them. The man chuckled as he moved them to a better standing position, taking the brunt of their weight as he did so, a strong arm wrapped around their waist.
"I-" It hurt their throat to speak, a fact so resented by one so attuned to words.
"Of course, heading right back to bed, weren't you? Seems you've gotten all turned around! But no matter, no matter, I am happy to help! That, i'm sure, you are familiar with."
That- that didn't seem right. They had been going somewhere else, hadn't they? They squinted up at him in confusion, their eyes meeting his. Returning to bed did seem rather appealing.
Of course, that had to be where they were intending to go. It felt like the most correct thing, to let themself be guided back to bed, a gentle hand pushing sweat slicked hair away from their forehead as they were settled back down. It must have been where they intended to go.
Where else was there to wander to, ill suited in the night?
Ted as Jamie's parental figure is out! (tbh since we discovered he had a Simon), Beard as Jamie's weird uncle is in!
YEAH. in my head the Beard and Jamie dynamic is forever weird and they never really quite learn how to talk to each other normally yet they come to LOVE co-existing in the same space. for instance, if Roy's caught up in press conferences and Jamie's waiting for him to go home, he'll pop into the coach's office and sit at Roy's desk and Beard will just nod at him amiably and then they'll both pull out their books and silently read them until Roy comes back in, and they both consider this a 10/10 way to pass the time. Beard takes to sliding books (mostly football strategy and history books, whatever he knows Jamie will like) Jamie's way once he's done with them. Beard also ends up bringing his baby son last minute to work a lot because Jane is Jane and Jamie is soooo wonderful with that kid and Beard buys him a baby Jamie Tartt kit to wear the matches (and when Henry hears he also gets SUPER excited)!!! yeah 😁
the thing is I don't want Donna's ending to be "fixed", sure its sad, its fucking heartbreaking, but thats what makes it good, if it gets fixed all the weight gets taken out of it. sure in the moment it'll be good, but if its fixed will you really be able to go back and watch journey's end in the same way, knowing it'll all get reversed eventually
some people will look at my current wip and say that malcolm running his hands through jamie's hair as he sleeps and singing him old scottish songs is out of character but to that i say a) no it's not just hear me out and b) suck my fat cock you can't stop me from making those old men experience Real Human Emotions
Am I the only one who doesn't think that 60s era Doctor Who's trend/themes of 'protect women' isnt sexist?
Most of the complaints I see about 60s Who sexism, and the male characters of that era is largely due to the men being like 'girls stay back.' But a) there is nothing inherently sexist about that imo? Men protecting women is the most healthy masculine thing possible. And b) when the women are like 'no lol' the men are like 'okay fine let's go' and respect their decisions on the whole.
Like that isn't sexism? That's just recognising men and women are different?
Jamie Campbell Bower causes mayhem at designer store in East London as hundreds of fans show up to see him... before the police turn up to shut it down
Just watched Fury from the Deep and I love Victoria's exit so much it breaks my heart. She's so worn down by their travels always ending up full of danger and death and her always being put in the position of damsel in distress. She really doesn't want to leave jamie and the doctor but she doesn't want that life and I love that it let's her make that choice. And I love that Jamie's concerned she won't be happy living in, what is to them, the future but she acknowledges she's changed too much to go back to Victorian England, and she's highly unlikely to get back there anyway, not without more death and danger. That the doctor changes his mind about slipping away in the night and agrees to stay another day so Victoria can think about her decision properly without feeling as pressured. The fact that she knows the doctor won't say a proper goodbye because that's his way. The way she stands on the beach watching them row out to the tardis, knowing she'll never see either of them again. The fact she doesn't go back to the tardis with them to collect her belongings. Jamie's "I don't care where we go next" because he's miserable that Victoria made that decision. The Doctor's "I was fond of her too, you know" which is the closest he'll get to admitting how much he cares about them all. I just love it
thinking so hard about coach “I hate losing” beard not wanting jamie (who is arguably the best athlete beard has met, and definitely the best on the team) back for the sole reason that he didn’t think it would be best for the team’s morale
thanks for the tag @three-drink-amy! i actually have something to share this week 😂 have some of the slightly happier sentences in this "damn-get-this-boy-some-therapy-how-are-you-so-traumatized-and-yet-still-alive" 5+1 jamie fic
Her hand is in his though, small and cold, and it is more than he could ever hope for over 20 years or the past few days. He had woken to her bustling into the room, eyes hard and voice sharp, scolding him and ignoring him in equal turns. The whisky had worn off, and the fever had set in, and he hadn’t been sure that what he was seeing wasn’t a vision of some sort. It wouldn’t have been the first time he had dreamed her.
But she had been quick and sharp and as commanding as any general in the field, in the way she only was when she was tending the people she loved.
She said that she would stay. And that is enough for now.
not sure who's already done this, but no-pressure tagging @theawkwardterrier, @flyinghome-againstthewind, @freneticfloetry, and @liminalmemories21, and anyone else who has a few sentences they would like to share!
