Lost Loves #3:
(11) The King 2 Hearts:
Tumblr media
Just as Shi-Kyung and the princess began to care for each other, he was murdered.
Tumblr media
After her attack, he was the one that motivated her to accept her fate. He was extremely loyal to the Royal family and in love with Jae-Shin.
(12) Vagabond:
Tumblr media
Cha Dal-Gun did his own personal investigation on why the airplane blew up, killing his nephew and many other children. He met Go Hae-Ri, an undercover agent for the NIS, and a cute romance begins. They discovered the ones that did the act, but were only able to catch the government officials that were covering everything up. The series ends with her becoming a minister and on her way back to Morocco. Dal-Gun had made his way into the group of mercenaries responsible for his nephew’s murder. Their next mission was to kill the minister. They shot out a tire so everyone got out of the automobile and thru his scope he saw it was Hae-Ri and he turned toward the other men and shot them saving her life. And then he cried. I know Dal-Gun is not dead but he’s out of contact with Hae-Ri so there’s no chance of romance. 😥
(13) Blood:
Tumblr media
Why did Hyun-Woo (Jung Hae-In) have to die?? I loved this man!!
Tumblr media
He was the saving grace of this series/he’s the only reason I was able to finish it. Hyun-Woo was a genius, extremely loyal to his Vampire friend and had a laid-back, endearing personality and was always smiling. I was so sad when he was murdered.
(14) Hotel Del Luna:
Tumblr media
I was sad that in the past the Captain of the Guard had to be killed. He was handsome and kind and definitely in love with Jang Man-Wol. But he betrayed her and many of her people were killed. She enacted the revenge herself, not only killing the Captain but the Queen and everyone in the small village. As a punishment she became the CEO of Hotel Del Luna who caters only to ghosts. I so wanted the Captain to show up and explain why he had betrayed her and then their romance could begin again. He did show up but only as a butterfly. After 1000 years her punishment ended and she was able to go to heaven (hopefully to be with the Captain).
(15) Uncontrollably Fond:
Tumblr media
I had a love/hate relationship with this series. I loved Joon-Young, but because of how he was treating Eul, I just wanted to knock him in his head. I loved that he went after the driver of the car that had killed her father (hit and run) but his method made me so angry! Once it was all solved, he takes Eul to the home that he had built for her and himself, and he dies soon after from his brain tumor. Oh, how I wanted them to have time together.

‘Moving’ Episode 18: Jo In Sung and Han Hyo Joo’s Past Revealed
Tumblr media
The hit Disney+ series ‘Moving’ is nearing its end, and the latest episode revealed the backstory of the main characters played by Jo In Sung and Han Hyo Joo. The show is based on the webtoon by Kang Full, and tells the story of three high school students who inherited superpowers from their parents, who are former secret agents.
‘Moving’: The Secret Mission That Changed Everything
Tumblr media
(Photo : Disney+) In episode 18, viewers learned more about the secret mission that Kim Doo Shik (Jo In Sung) and Lee Mi Hyun (Han Hyo Joo) were involved in years ago, when they were still working for the National Intelligence Service (NIS). Doo Shik, who has the ability to fly, was assigned to assassinate the North Korean leader as his last task before retiring from the NIS. Mi Hyun, who has enhanced senses, was his partner and intelligence analyst. However, things went wrong when Doo Shik encountered a team of North Korean soldiers guarding the leader’s office. He managed to take them down, but not before one of them, Kim Deok Yoon (Kim Sung Oh), recognized him as Kim Doo Shik, a former North Korean defector. Deok Yoon begged Doo Shik not to kill the leader, but Doo Shik had no choice but to follow his orders. The assassination triggered a series of events that led to the current conflict between the NIS and the North Korean agents. Deok Yoon survived the attack, but lost his comrades and his position. He was spared by the North Korean government, but only on the condition that he would stop the South Korean plan to create a new breed of superpowered agents. He also vowed to avenge his leader and his friends by killing Doo Shik.
The Connection Between Doo Shik and Deok Yoon
Tumblr media
(Photo : Disney+ Korea) The episode also revealed that Doo Shik and Deok Yoon have a deeper connection than they thought. They were both part of a secret experiment conducted by the NIS and the CIA to enhance human abilities using a mysterious substance called LK-99. The experiment was led by Mr. Min (Lee Kyung Young), Doo Shik’s mentor and handler in the NIS.
Tumblr media
(Photo : Disney+ Korea) Doo Shik was one of the first subjects of the experiment, along with Frank (Ryoo Seung Bum), an American-raised assassin who also has healing powers. They were injected with LK-99, which gave them their abilities, but also caused them side effects such as memory loss and emotional instability.
Tumblr media
(Photo : Disney+ Korea) Deok Yoon was also exposed to LK-99, but in a different way. He was one of the North Korean soldiers who captured Doo Shik when he tried to defect from North Korea as a teenager. During the interrogation, Doo Shik’s blood spilled on Deok Yoon’s wound, transferring some of his power to him. Deok Yoon developed super strength and speed, but also suffered from headaches and nightmares.
The Final Battle Begins
Tumblr media
(Photo : Disney+ Korea) The episode ended with a cliffhanger, as Deok Yoon unleashed his secret weapon: a mysterious man with extreme powers who can manipulate matter and energy. He attacked Lee Mi Hyun and Jang Ju Won (Ryu Seung Ryong), who were at the school for a meeting with Choi Il Hwan (Kim Young Jae), the NIS agent who is in charge of finding and protecting the gifted individuals. Meanwhile, Kim Bong Seok (Lee Jung Ha) and Jang Hui Soo (Go Youn Jung), the children of Doo Shik and Mi Hyun, and Ju Won respectively, faced off against Jung Joon Hwa (Kim Min Jae), another North Korean agent who can fly. Joon Hwa was sent by Deok Yoon to capture Bong Seok and Hui Soo, who also have flying abilities and enhanced senses. Will Mi Hyun and Ju Won survive the attack? Will Bong Seok and Hui Soo escape from Joon Hwa? Will Doo Shik be able to confront Deok Yoon and end their feud? Fans will have to wait for the next episodes to find out. ‘Moving’ is streaming on Disney+, with new episodes every Monday.
Netizens React
Tumblr media
(Photo : Disney+ Korea) The episode received mixed reactions from netizens, who commented on various online platforms. Some praised the acting skills of Jo In Sung and Han Hyo Joo, while others criticized the plot holes and inconsistencies in the story. Here are some of their comments: “Jo In Sung is amazing as always. He can portray any character with such depth and emotion. Han Hyo Joo is also very good as his partner. They have great chemistry.” “I’m confused about the timeline of this show. How old are Doo Shik and Mi Hyun supposed to be? How long ago was the assassination? How did they get married and have a son? How did they escape from the NIS?” “This show is getting more ridiculous by the episode. How can a man with superpowers just walk into the school and attack people? Where are the security guards? Where are the other students and teachers? Where are the police?” “I’m enjoying this show for what it is: a fun and thrilling action drama with a touch of fantasy. I don’t care about the logic or the realism. I just want to see the actors do their best and entertain me.” Subscribe to IDOLS KPOP for exclusive updates and captivating content. Read the full article

But what happens when Hana meets Takane is an unexpected pairing of utter opposites! Although it seemed a little rushed at the end it was a nice tv show!

Nightmare High (2016)
Dir. Hyun Moon-Sub
⚠️ Spoilers !! ⚠️
Tumblr media
i started watching this because i keep seeing this on Netflix and my curiosity got the best of me hehe. also because i’m quite impressed with Kim So-Hyun’s acting skills and she’s also one of my favorite Korean actors, because of her performance in Love Alarm (2019).
Tumblr media
lmao so i finished this show a couple of days ago and i was supposed to post this after but i decided to collect my thoughts first so i could make this post work haha. i tend to forget what i just watched five minutes after watching it sometimes (its not a quirky thing ;-; i tend to get surprised that i just finished another show that i forget what just happened lol).
anyways, i kinda liked this drama, though i felt like it was a bit of a slow-burn, it showed what the characters were like if they were given the chance to play god, which led to them abusing it then wanting it to stop when they get overwhelmed by it. here’s a list of my thoughts on each characters’ stories :v
1. Kim Seul-Gi
Tumblr media
the name reminds me so much of Seulgi (Kang Seulgi) from Red Velvet lmaoo. Kim Seulgi (Seo Shin-ae) was considered as their class’ “outcast”, with her classmates going out of their way to talk about how she’s invisible and that she’s worthless before proceeding to mess with her stuff. being fed up with her bullies, she decides to go to the counseling office and talk to Mr. Han/Han Bong-Gu (Uhm Ki-Joon) who gives her the layout of their classroom and a red pen, telling her to connect her name with a classmates name with a red line if she wants to be friends with them. after trying this, her classmates start acting nice to her, which eventually led to her not being given the time to be alone and to be with the people that she wants to be with, which then led to her asking Mr. Han if he could reverse the whole thing and go back to normal.
Seul-Gi’s story was honestly a bit sad and frustrating with me. this is why you shouldn’t give people the chance to play god or the chance to control their fate and their surroundings, it just won’t end well. the girl just wanted to have friends that genuinely care for her. the solution that Mr. Han gave her was addicting at first but when it all backfired on her, she decided that maybe it wasn’t for her at all. sadly, she had no other choice but to be trapped in that mirror.
Seul-Gi deserved better :<
2. Oh Ki-Chul
Tumblr media
Oh Ki-Chul (Baek Sung-Do) is a student that participates in wrestling/boxing/fighting matches. (??) after a while of not participating, he stumbles upon two students that are fighting and decides to break it up. he was then met with what looks like a student who was also the group’s ‘leader’ telling him that one of the rules of fighting was to never butt-in on someone else’s fight. he was then dared to participate in a fight but turned down the offer as he planned not to do it until he graduates.
after a series of provoking and starting to participate again in other fights. Oh Ki-Chul and Mr. Han spoke about him joining fights, before Mr. Han puts Ki-Chul in a trance to help him see if he’ll win or not. he decides to use this to his advantage, memorizing what he has to do in order to win his fights in the future. eventually, he too had to sign a contract with his blood- like every victim of Mr. Han’s to continue receiving this kind of privilege which eventually led him to being trapped in a mirror too.
my main takeaway from Ki-Chul’s story was that it was kinda weird that Mr. Han just watched from the sidelines instead of holding Ki-Chul back and try to change his mind into not participating in the fight. sadly, he’s not like other Homeroom teachers. for others, they’d probably say that he’s provoking these students into wanting more.. but i think that he’s actually giving them the taste of their own medicine if they decide to abuse their desires if it were given to them. but i still think that Mr. Han’s a bad guy lmao duh.
3. Ahn Si-Yeon
Tumblr media
first of all, i think that Ahn Si-Yeon (Kim Da-Ye) is so adorable !! her character gives me fangirl vibes ✨ sadly, she had to fall for Mr. Han’s trap too. it first started when her classmates accused her of lying to them about her having a boyfriend who lives in Boston, with them purposely making her “overhear” their conversations about someone they know that lies about their personal life. i didn’t really get why she had to lie though, i’m quite convinced that she did that to gain more friends. sadly, they had to pry and pry to the point that she had to find a solution to their nosiness, she started it anyway. Si-Yeon went to the counseling room to talk to Mr. Han, where she was given a notebook to write down her desires. now this part gave me Death Note (2006) vibes.. but with less people dying from heart attacks lmao.
after writing down on the ✨ magical ✨ notebook, her ‘boyfriend’ from Boston suddenly appears out of nowhere, apologizing for taking so long to arrive and be there with her. surprised with her wishes being granted by the notebook, Mr. Han gives her the option to sign a contract with her blood or everything goes back to the way it was.
Si-Yeon then continues making ‘things’ happen through her notebook, until she decided that she didn’t want to continue using the notebook anymore and that she wanted everything to go back to normal. unfortunately, burning the notebook didn’t do anything which eventually caused her to be trapped in the mirror as well.
4. Chun Jae-Soo
Tumblr media
duuuude, my fujoshi side is jumping out i hate myself lmao anywayss i can’t help but ship Jae-Soo (Jang Kyoung-Up) to Ko Ki-Tae (Ji Eun-Sung), they all so give me Kaneki and Hide vibes from Tokyo Ghoul (2014) !!
anyways, Jae-Soo’s story was pretty sad for me but it was kind of a slow burn? idk, maybe i wasn’t paying much attention or time went by slowly for me that day.. but he got so dependent on the drinks that Mr. Han was giving him that he eventually forgot everyone, even his bestfriend! which made him resort to writing the important details of his life on his arms and on the chair of his desk. i was so sad when Ki-Tae saw Jae-Soo’s arms :< he definitely knew what was wrong with his best friend but couldn’t think of a way to help him without the other thinking that he’s prying. ngl though, i honestly thought that Ki-Tae was using Jae-Soo at first but was then convinced that they were actually best friends.
Jae-Soo’s dependence on the drink eventually made him forget his name, even where he was and where his classroom was. which gave Mr. Han the advantage to trap him inside the mirror as well.
5. Do Do-Hee
Tumblr media
Do-Hee (Kim Ji-An) is considered as the queen in her class and was even in their school, Yosan High’s advertisement poster. unfortunately, her boyfriend, Lee Jong-Suk (Kwon Young-Min) cheated on her with a student from the lower level. she was then replaced on the poster with the same girl, which fueled her anger and jealousy towards the new couple. thinking that her beauty is disappearing and she’s being replaced as the prettiest girl in their class, Do-Hee stumbles upon an app that gives her the look she wants with one click. unfortunately, it doesn’t last long and she’ll have to sign a contract with Mr. Han so she could continue using it.
Do-Hee’s features start to get more enhanced, with female students in their school asking her how she got and maintained the far from natural look.. which eventually caused her and Jong-Suk to get back together. after a few weeks of dating, Do-Hee catches Jong-Suk talking to the same girl and retaliated by pouring water all over the two.
unfortunately, her beauty also disappears when her phone’s battery dies and she’ll have to constantly find a way to get an updated phone. the app eventually sent her into a mental breakdown, making her more obsessed with her looks, which gave Mr. Han.. again, an advantage to trap her in the mirror too.
Tumblr media
overall, i think the show was pretty good !! Kim So-Hyun and Lee Min-Hyuk have great chemistry and i ship them a lot ;-; though i kinda think this show was a slow burn and there were parts that were kinda boring for me.
it was also kinda creepy and sad for me since these students clearly have problems but their homeroom teacher that should be mediating this situation and guiding them to the right path is the person who’s actually leading them to his trap, which was so frustrating to watch since Ye-Rim (Kim So-Hyun) and Sang-Woo (Lee Min-Hyuk) were so close to finding out what was actually happening. sadly, Mr. Han is waaaay too ahead of them. kinda surprised of the plot twist too where the camera Sang-Woo was using was supposed to tell about people’s lies, kinda reminds me of that TikTok POV i saw the other day.

Come and Hug Me: Thoughts
Okay, so I recently just finished Come and Hug Me and I have thoughts so please bear (bare?) with me as I try my best to organize them.
The Good Stuff:
The Romance. Obviously, this couple is beautiful and wonderful and adorable. But what makes this romance really special for me was that nothing about it ever felt over-the-top. There were lots of emotions and plenty of drama, but the premise of this one is so intense and melodramatic that none of that ever felt ridiculous. Na Moo expressed a lot guilt and hesitation, but that made sense. It wasn’t frustrating to watch him try and hold himself back from Nak Won because it was understandable. And she was such a good character in the way she was able to reassure him and express herself so openly. She never blamed Na Moo, not even when she was 16 and freshly traumatized. She always treated him like he was separate from his father and gave him all the love she had. Which brings me to my next point...
Nak Won. This is one great leading lady. Strong, confident, brave, loyal. Nak Won knew exactly who she was and she wasn’t ashamed of anything. The way she handled the bad press was so mature and calm. She was collected and graceful and a pleasure to spend time with on screen. I also think her trauma was handled really well. It didn’t become her entire character and they didn’t rely on it as her only source of interest. It was part of her life, but it didn’t define her.
Na Moo’s Psycho Smile. Okay, this one’s pretty small, but every time Na Moo went all “don’t mess with her” and put on that insane smile, my enjoyment of the scene increased about 75%. It was just so creepy and unnerving yet attractive. Well done, Jang Ki Young. Well done.
The Plot. So, for the first half of this show, I wasn’t sure how I felt about the actual plot. It seemed like the writers couldn’t decide who the villain was. Then episode 20 happened. And, granted, that’s over halfway through, so it took a while for the plot to really figure itself out, but once it did I thought it was pretty intriguing and exciting. Especially all the layers of manipulation Hui Jae had going by the end.
Na Moo’s entire family. His mom was sweet and loving, So Jin was adorable in both little-girl and young-woman form, and Hyun Moo had a fantastic redemption arc that should not have worked but absolutely did. By the end of the series, I genuinely loved Hyun Moo.
A Few Complaints
Gil Moo Won. So, for the majority of this series, it was abundantly clear that Moo Won had a thing for his sister. I guess this wasn’t intentional because it’s never addressed and it dies down a lot by the final episodes, but boy was it uncomfortable for a long time. He has a framed picture of his sister on his bookshelf. A PICTURE HE ISN’T EVEN IN. He lovingly places headphones on her ears, he holds her hand, he loses his mind when he isn’t sure where she is, and the way he looks at her just screams incest. I’m sorry, but it was creepy and weird and I hated every second of it. I don’t care if they’re not blood, that’s his sister. And it made it seem like his hatred for Na Moo was jealousy rather than brotherly concern. Also, even in the second half of the show when he was less of a perv, he just got way too much screen time. He had nothing interesting to do but he just kept showing up.
The Hammer. Okay, I gotta ask. How many murder hammers are there? It’s like everyone in the show had their very own. And I actually thought it was all the same hammer until like the last few episodes where it shows that on the night Nak Won’s parents died, Yoon Hui Jae and Na Moo both have hammers at the same time, which is when I got really confused by the continuity of these hammers. How many of these things did Hui Jae make? Surely the one he used for his original murders is in evidence somewhere. Plus he had to give one to Yeom Ji Hong. That just seems like a lot. Also, on that night (the one 12 years ago), why did Na Moo have that hammer with him? Did he just carry it around?
Young Nak Won. Okay so young Nak Won and older Nak Won look nothing alike. That’s a stupid complaint because obviously they’re different actors so they won’t look identical, and I did actually like the actress they chose for young Nak Won, it just bothered how different they looked every time they did a flashback to show some kind of parallel. Young Na Moo and older Na Moo were actually pretty close. Close enough, at least.
So, overall, this was a great show and I really enjoyed myself, particularly in the second half. If you’re looking for a good melodrama with some interesting characters and a great romance, this is a good one. And thank you so much @thingskateknows for recommending it to me.

An innocent and soft story that is very similar to Extraordinary You, with a little extra cheese
Legend Of The Blue Sea-
The television series centers on the love story of Heo Joon-jae (Lee Min-ho), the son of a rich businessman who becomes a clever con-man after his parents' divorce, and a mermaid named Shim Cheong (Jun Ji-hyun). Focusing on rebirth, fate, and unrequited love, their tale is juxtaposed with the parallel story of their Joseon era incarnations, town head Kim Dam-ryeong and the mermaid Se-hwa.
Personal review: 9/10
A little bit of magic and a whole lot of comedy. Our main herione carries this drama on her amazingly strong shoulder

One day on campus, Kim Bok-Joo bumps into Jung Joon-Hyung while he is riding his bicycle. Her face looks familiar to Jung Joon-Hyung. After he leaves, Kim Bok-Joo picks up a handkerchief left behind by Jung Joon-Hyung. The handkerchief is very important to him and he begins looking for it.
Personal review: 100/10
Not your usual herione of you average, but Bok Joo is someone that captures your heart immediately. Also the main couple has the best chemistry together
School 2017-
The plot follows a class of high school students attempting to overcome the stress of being ranked by their exam grades, and facing the difficulties of being a teenager in a high-pressure, corrupt system. Its central protagonist is Ra Eun-ho (Kim Se-jeong), a cheerful and kind-hearted 18-year-old who dreams of being a webtoon artist but is caught up in the search for a mysterious troublemaker in the school, known as 'Student X'. While reading something left behind by her father, a hand from the monitor pulled her in. She found herself on the rooftop of a building, next to a man lying down in blood. She manages to save him and realizes that the person she saved was Kang Cheol. She later discovers she can only enter and leave the webtoon depending on Kang Cheol's feelings.
Personal review: 9/10
A different perspective of the webtoon world with the perspective of the author taken in. Also who doesnt love Lee Jong Suk
Cheese in the trap-
The drama focuses on the life and relationships of a group of university students, particularly the difficult relationship between Hong Seol (Kim Go-eun) and her sunbae, or her senior, Yoo Jung (Park Hae-jin).

When she returns through a scholarship that was intended for Jung, he is unexpectedly nice to her and asks her on a date. They begin an awkward relationship which is further complicated by the arrival of Baek In-ho and his sister In-ha, childhood friends of Jung and her finding out he is wealthy.

WHY PEOPLE ARE BUZZING ABOUT STRANGER S2 : INTENSE INTRIGUE + EVERYONE IS A SUSPECT
Can you find the culprit?
Tumblr media
All the puzzle pieces in the crime series Stranger S2 are coming together as our favorite crime-solving duo team up to find missing Prosecutor Seo Dong-jae (Lee Joon-hyuk). While Prosecutor Hwang Si-mok (Cho Seung-woo) and Police Inspector Han Yeo-jin (Bae Doo-na) retrace Dong-jae’s steps, they discover that cases brought up earlier appear to be related to his disappearance. What makes the series so interesting is the brain-racking mystery and how suspicious all the characters are. Enjoy sleuthing alongside the duo and check out the possible culprits here.
Choi Bit
Tumblr media
Most of the primary suspects are new characters in the second season, including Chief Choi (Jeon Hye-jin). Choi Bit has no qualms about bending the truth for the good of the police. She can be hot-headed and calculative. Prior to Seo Dong-jae’s disappearance, Choi Bit was concerned about him prying into the case of Police Sergeant Song Gi-hyeon (Lee Ga-sub)’s death. Now she’s worried about the public thinking that a police officer might be behind Dong-jae’s kidnapping. She’s clearly nervous and has something to hide, but could she be responsible for Dong-jae?
Woo Tae-ha
Tumblr media
Both Choi Bit and Chief Prosecutor Woo Tae-ha (Choi Moo-sung) seem bothered about the fact that Seo Dong-jae was looking into the death of prosecutor turned lawyer Park Gwang-su (Seo Jin-won) before his abduction. However, Woo Tae-ha might be experiencing more difficulty in trying to appear nonchalant. He’s on edge and doesn’t want Hwang Si-mok to dig too deep. Tae-ha already lied about the other file Dong-jae gave him and spoke to Park Gwang-su’s wife secretly. Could he be involved in Dong-jae’s abduction?
Lee Yeon-jae
Tumblr media
Lee Yeon-jae (Yoon Se-a) is now in charge of Hanjo and embroiled in a power struggle with her brother Lee Sung-jae. She’s determined to keep her position and continue rebuilding Hanjo’s reputation. Could she be entangled in some dirty dealings though? When Dong-jae brought up Park Gwang-su’s death she jokingly asked if she had killed him. Furthermore, before Dong-jae’s disappearance Yeon-jae cryptically says, “There was one more,” after receiving a supportive text message from Dong-jae. However, Yeon-jae may not be directly involved in his disappearance because she does appear to be worried about him.
Kim Sa-hyun
Tumblr media
Prosecutor Kim Sa-hyun (Kim Young-jae) joined Woo Tae-ha and Hwang Si-mok to represent the prosecution for the Prosecution-Police Council Meeting. He comes off a bit arrogant and annoying at first, but he seems different after Dong-jae’s disappearance. Sa-hyun has a bit of a heart-to-heart with Si-mok when he talks about having known the late Lee Chang-jun (Yu Jae-myeong) and being affected by his passing even though he had not seen him for 13 years. He also notes that if a police officer is responsible for Dong-jae’s kidnapping then the investigative authority fight between the police and the prosecution is over. Sa-hyun seems harmless, but you never know what could happen in this series.
Kang Won-chul
Tumblr media
Chief Prosecutor Kang Won-chul (Park Seong-keun) quickly signed off on the ruling for the Tongyeong drowning case which wrapped it up in a short amount of time. While Si-mok didn’t disagree with the ruling, there are some signs that show Won-chul might have changed since the first season. He’s in a higher position of power than before, and his meeting with prosecutor turned lawyer Oh Ju-seon (Kim Hak-sun) reveals that Won-chul might be considering what to do with his career after leaving the prosecution someday. Is Kang Won-chul still trustworthy?
Lee Sung-jae
Tumblr media
We have yet to see Lee Yeon-jae’s brother Lee Sung-jae. We do know that he’s ambitious and eager to take over control of Hanjo. Seo Dong-jae got involved when Yeon-jae asked him to speak to her father on her behalf. Although he wasn’t able to get inside her father’s residence, he did succeed with investigating and discovering some medication in the trash. This information helped Yeon-jae realize her father’s current state. What if Lee Sung-jae found out about Dong-jae sneaking around and reporting to Yeon-jae? Would he have played a hand in his disappearance?
Jeon Seung-pyo
Tumblr media
Former Dongducheon Chief Jeon Seung-pyo (Moon Jong-won) is a favorite potential suspect amongst many viewers. He’s got anger issues and is implicated in two of the three cases Dong-jae was looking into. The first case centers around his demotion after assaulting his driver. This was the case that Woo Tae-ha pretended to have forgotten in front of Hwang Si-mok. He was also questioned for whether or not he was involved in Song Gi-hyeon getting transferred to the precinct where Jeon Seung-pyo’s nephew works. Yeo-jin and Si-mok observed that Seung-pyo could have overpowered Dong-jae, but is he guilty of attacking him?
Kim Su-hang
Tumblr media
Kim Su-hang (Kim Beom-su) is Jeon Seung-pyo’s nephew and finished serving his sentence for receiving bribes. We know he had an antagonistic relationship with the deceased Song Gi-hyeon, but he claims to have repented upon being questioned by Yeo-jin. Su-hang’s employer described him as a hardworking person and well-liked by the elders. Is he truly a changed person, or is he just putting on an act? While he has an alibi, is it possible that there’s an accomplice?
Baek Jung-gi
Tumblr media
Police team leader Baek Jung-gi (Jung Seung-gil) seemed pretty guilty earlier on. It appeared as though he was receiving bribes and potentially guilty of killing Song Gi-hyeon. When questioned after a witness comes forward, Jung-gi appears more innocent. He does seem genuinely remorseful about leading his team to accept bribes in order for Lee Dae-seong (Park Sung-il) to afford his ill mother’s medication. However, when the Segok officers are walking to the room to be identified by the witness, Jung-gi is the only officer who knows that there is a witness. Did he just hear it from colleagues or is he more involved than he lets on?
Prosecutor Seo Dong-jae’s Wife
Tumblr media
Seo Dong-jae’s wife (Choi Hee-seo) reacts atypically at the news of her husband’s disappearance. When the police check the DNA of the blood stain at the scene against her child’s cheek swab, she appears more worried about her children than her missing husband. However, she does film a video pleading for any witnesses to come forward. When Jang Geon (Choi Jae-woong) shows her the photo of Dong-jae’s bloody tie, she cries and pleads for help. However, when she watches the news with her son later, she looks oddly detached as she reassures her son that the news is not about his father. Is she hiding something?
The Father of One of the Drowning Victims
Tumblr media
The Tongyeong drowning case was the very first case we saw in the second season. There’s got to be more to the case than what we’ve seen thus far. The father of one of the drowning victims was visited by Choi Bit, Seo Dong-jae, and Han Yeo-jin separately. While he initially believed it was a simple drowning accident, the case became scrutinized for potential mishandling. Yeo-jin remembered the older, wooden flooring at the father’s home but has kept the information to herself. Is it just a coincidence or is the father involved with Dong-jae’s disappearance?
Tumblr media
Aside from the characters mentioned already, there are plenty more suspicious people to consider. Some that come to mind include Prosecutor Jeong Min-ha (Park Ji-yeon) who might harbor feelings for Dong-jae, and Lee Yeon-jae’s right-hand man Director Park (Jung Sung-il), who seems a bit shady. The culprit could even be someone not mentioned on this list at all. However, it’s clear that most of these people are hiding secrets. Only time will tell as Si-mok and Yeo-jin work together to expose the secrets. In the meantime, hang in there Dong-jae!
Don’t forget to tune in and watch Stranger S2, only on Netflix. Catch the culprit yourself!
Synopsis: In the midst of a power clash between prosecutors and police, Hwang Si-mok (Cho Seung-woo) and Han Yeo-jin (Bae Doo-na) reunite to uncover murky secrets as they pursue a labyrinth of intertwined cases.

My 2 cents worth on Kdramas
So, earlier this year (2018) my 12-year-old granddaughter turned me on to Kdramas.
Started out with 'Boys over Flowers' in January and we're still arguing about which one of the guys Jan-Di should have ended up with....Gu Jun-Pyo or Yoon Ji-Hoo. Since I'm a sucker for the whole Soul Mate thing (been married to my own soul mate for over 30 years) and Ji-Hoo became my favorite right from the start, I actually wasn't too happy with the way things turned out in the end.
Tumblr media
But that's all beside the point and the only thing that matters is that it only took this one series to get me completely and absolutely "hooked" on Kdramas.
Since Kim Hyun Joong became my first favorite as Ji-Hoo, I started looking up other parts he starred in and came across 'Inspiring Generation'. Wow! What a difference! The character of Shin Jung-Tae is just about as opposite of Ji-Hoo as it can possibly get. But I guess that's what makes a truly great actor, and Kim Hyun Joong was simply amazing playing the part....even though it bothered me to see that handsome face getting beat up way too much.
Tumblr media
But then it was also 'Inspiring Generation' where I found what would become my next favorite...Song Jae Rim, in the character of Mo Il-Hwa.
Tumblr media
I can't quite pinpoint what it was that endeared me to that part, but of course I had to once again look for other Kdramas, featuring Song Jae Rim. And that's when I came across 'Moon embracing the Sun' with Song Jae Rim as the King's swordsman, Woon.
Tumblr media
Absolutely loved Jae Rim in that part and still do, even after having watched the entire series about a dozen times by now. I also liked Song Jae Rim in 'Goodbye Mr. Black', even though his wasn't a main character role, but didn't care much for the part of a hitman/killer Mr. Kim he played in 'Two Weeks' since I really don't like my favs playing "bad guys". Of course, watching 'Two Weeks' made me find another new favorite...Lee Joon Gi
Okay, so I just said I don't like my favs playing "bad guys", but the main character, Jang Tae-San, isn't really a bad "bad guy" and if that story doesn't tear up your heart, then you better check if you still have one.
Tumblr media
I actually had to do something I usually NEVER do...about half-way through the series I had to watch the final episode to see how it turns out, just so my old nerves could take watching the rest of the story. Yeah, I know...terrible, isn't it? Don't worry, I got more than an earful about it from my granddaughter, and I promise to never do it again! ;)
But while I thought that it could not possibly get any better than Lee Joon Gi's performance in 'Two Weeks', I quickly found out that I was wrong when I watched 'Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo' next. OH, MY...!!! Not only is Joon Gi with long hair pure eye-candy (to me at least), but he absolutely nailed the part of Prince Wang So.
Tumblr media
Ladies, how many of you were ready to strangle Wang So's mother with your bare hands. I definitely was! And what's the big deal about that scar? I guess it's because Princes had to be "perfect", but come on...  Scars are just proof that you were stronger than whatever or whoever it was that tried to kill you. And apparently back then the phrase "chicks dig scars" was unheard of. And also apparently I'm not the only one who wasn't happy at all with the way the story ended, considering there are numerous fan videos on YouTube with different, happier endings. I got more than just a little upset with Hae Soo for leaving Wang So. How could she not see that he was trying his best to NOT become some blood-thirsty tyrant??
Anyway, after only about 3 days of some serious editing work, the final episode in my own DVD collection of 'Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo' has a much happier ending now...many thanks to Daria Zyuzina who created the wonderful fan video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oj0r9zE5Le8) where Wang So finds Hae Soo in the future. And like so many other fans, I'm also still hoping for a Season 2 with this kind of scenario.
On another note to 'Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo'... aside from the despicable character of Queen Yoo (Prince Wang So's mother, who treats him like s**t), my other least-favorite character is Prince Wang Yo (Wang So's biological brother, and also a son of Queen Yoo). However, while I hated the character, actor Hong Jong Hyun did an excellent job portraying the mean, spiteful, conniving 3rd Prince. But if you're like me, you would much more enjoy seeing Hong Jong Hyun in the role of Wang Rin in 'The King in Love'
Tumblr media
or, even better, as Seo Chan Hwi, the vice-commander of the Royal Guard in 'Jeon Woo Chi'
Tumblr media
(that is, if you can get into things like wizards and magic and tolerate some occasionally slightly over-done special effects of people flying through the air and such...BUT at least in 'Jeon Woo Chi' ONLY the wizards have that ability, unlike in some of the Chinese dramas where seemingly anybody can have such super-human abilities...if you ever watched 'General and I', you might understand what I'm talking about... I couldn't make it past a trailer that had a fight scene between Chu Beijie and He Xia, but that's just me, I guess).
As far as wizards and magic are concerned, however, I did very much enjoy the ones in 'Mirror of the Witch' aka 'Secret Healer' and my favorite character there ended up being the Taoist Yo Gwang, played by Lee Yi Kyung.
Tumblr media
Don't ask me why, I just found him adorable (maybe because he was so awkward, dealing with the girl  Soon Deuk who clearly has a crush on him). SPOILER ALERT -- 'Mirror of the Witch' has a rather bitter-sweet ending!
I want to get back to Lee Joon Gi for a moment since I just finished the 'Lawless Lawyer' series....which is an excellent nail-biter and I had to seriously restrain myself NOT TO watch the final episode first again. If you've seen it, tell me is it just me or did you think too that Joon Gi looked too skinny in that series? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying at all that he looked "bad" in any way and his performance was awesome as usual...I just felt that he looked like he'd lost a whole bunch of weight and "celebrity life" was taking its toll on him. Kind of worries me, because I would definitely like to see him in many more future performances.
I still have some Lee Joon Gi binge-watching left over for now, since the only other movies and series I made it through so far were 'Iljimae', 'Arang and the Magistrate', 'Gunman in Joseon' and of course 'The King and the Clown' (which was way too sad for my taste). But most likely 'Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo' will always be my absolute favorite and I'll keep hoping for a 2nd season...even though that will probably just remain wishful thinking for myself and many others, but we can always hope, right?
Some of my other favs I’d like to mention would be Kwak Dong Yeon as swordsman Kim Byung-Yeon in 'Moonlight drawn by Clouds' aka 'Love in the Moonlight'
Tumblr media
and he also played an excellent part as young Shin Jung-Tae in 'Inspiring Generation'.
Then there is Seo In Guk for his outstanding performances as Prince Gwang-Hae in 'The King's Face'
Tumblr media
and also as Lee Hyun / David Lee in 'I Remember You' aka 'Hello Monster'.
Tumblr media
An excellent yet unfortunately somewhat overlooked performance of Kim Jae Young as Moo-Yeon in ‘100 Days my Prince’
Tumblr media
And last (for now) but certainly not least is Jung Il Woo whose sad role as Prince Yang-Myung in 'Moon embracing the Sun' cost me plenty of tissues,
Tumblr media
but required even more of them in 'The Return of Iljimae' (even though it has a happier ending for Jung Il Woo’s character)
Tumblr media
I'll probably get "yelled at" for saying this, but I honestly have a hard time deciding whom I liked better...Lee Joon Gi as Iljimae in 'Iljimae: The Phantom Thief', or Jung Il Woo as Iljimae in 'The Return of Iljimae'. (Sorry, Joon Gi, but be assured that you'll still always be my #1 fav).
So, thanks to my granddaughter, back to some more binge-watching...hey, I got to blame someone else for things not getting done around the house, right? ;)

I'm the kind of person who doesn't write a thing about what I'm watching, but, I have to say I love Money Flower, and I love every post you make about it. You're not alone (?) ;) As a spoiler but something I have to say, I'm dying with Boo Cheon going badly, and it hurts that what finally crack him was Pil Joo's betrayal. Jang Hyuk's final face was too much :v
Thanks for dropping by to throw some gasoline onto the fires of my own personal hell, anon. I think I spent 3 hours ranting to my BFF about this exact subject yesterday. I was trying to organize my thoughts to write a post about it but I couldn’t. I feel ya. Oh yea, you and I are in the same boat.
In all seriousness, I love it when I get anonymous message that give me an excuse to write about something I was already privately ranty about. So thank you, lol.
[Fair warning…I went HAM on my reply. Sorry?? Huge spoilers for the show past this point, y’all.]
It was hard watching my three crazy kids fall apart this week. Especially Boo. The turn his character took this week broke my damn heart. Full disclosure: Boo Cheon is my favorite character in this garbage fire of a show. Has been for weeks now. I feel like I’m pretty much alone in that opinion. My mind twin, agaggleoffandoms (for whatever reason tumblr is refusing to let me @ her) and I are on the same page, but for the most part people seem to really hate Boo. I don’t get it. I can’t wrap my head around how you could love and root for Pil Joo in this whole thing, and yet have no sympathy for Boo Cheon whatsoever. Like, I get it, but I really don’t get it.
Okay, so, I think Kang Pil Joo is actually Satan himself and this is why…
First, let me disclaim and say that I like Pil Joo as a character. I like him a lot. I like the way Jang Hyuk is playing him. I like his scenes. I like him because he’s twisted and terrifying. I like what a manipulative monster he is. I went into the drama expecting it and I was not disappointed at all. He’s every bit the sociopathic puppet master the poster promised me. I watch this show because it’s a crazy-sauce makjang mess. I enjoy the characters because of how insurmountably dysfunctional they are.
Additionally, this isn’t supposed to be a post to justify Boo’s actions, or claims that he’s done nothing wrong. Clearly that’s not the case. I’m just trying to understand the audience’s reaction to him. Why I find myself rooting for him so much, and other people have no time for him at all.
The first thing Boo Cheon does at the beginning of episode 17 is threaten the mother of his child making it clear in no uncertain terms that if she goes through with the press conference and torpedo’s his chances to be chairman she’s as good as dead. That’s monstrous. I make no bones about that. I would just argue that Boo is merely the monster that Pil Joo has made of him.
If we’re going to completely jettison the possibility of Boo’s redemption arc based on that scene, Pil Joo shouldn’t be getting a pass. In the moral landscape of the show, Pil Joo has done everything Boo has done, but three shades darker.
Pil Joo has personally laid hands on Seo Won not once…
Tumblr media
But two separate times….
Tumblr media
He has also directly threatened her life on multiple occasions. He’s the Jang family fixer. We know how dirty his hands can get. The show has shown us. And we can argue all day long that Pil Joo never would have actually harmed her. That he was trying to put the fear of god into her because he was also a victim of Jang family violence toward mistresses and their unacknowledged children…but does that justify it? Boo has also on multiple occasions attempted to remove her from the situation, and taken steps to protect her from his family by bringing their son to Mooshimwon. Seo Won is either too foolhardy or too determined to take the hint. She revealed herself to Mo Hyun with malicious intent and became indirectly responsible for the loss of his unborn child.
He goes to the hotel room to meet Seo Won because Pil Joo sent him there. He threatens her with a knife–Pil Joo’s knife interestingly enough–making good on his promise not to let anyone stand between him and the chairman position. Why does he even want the chairman position? Because that’s what Pil Joo groomed him to want:
Tumblr media
Sure, Boo has said that he wanted to become chairman for his own reasons now. He is motivated to succeed so that Mo Hyun will praise him and feel proud of him. He’s motivated to do it because he’s developed a real affection for his wife. He loves her enough to feel jealous over the prospect of losing her, to go head to head with his mother over her, and even to put his own life at risk for her. Why is he even married to Mo Hyun? Because of Pil Joo’s manipulations.
Everyone is in the position they’re in because of Pil Joo’s manipulations. Look at what he’s done to Mo Hyun! He lied repeatedly, fed Boo lines, write apology letters for him, engineered situations to further the seduction plot for his own personal benefit. He has continually withheld crucial information from her in order to control her actions. Because it all forwards his revenge plot.
Furthermore, he resents Mo Hyun for falling in love with Boo according to his own plot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a pattern we have seen repeatedly. Since as early as episode 4:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pil Joo blames other people for falling into his traps. He doesn’t take responsibility himself. He is “unable to stop himself” so they have to be the ones to resist him. He merely writes the scripts, he sets up the pieces, but if you fall for his tricks then it’s your own fault. That’s the attitude we’ve seen again and again.
And sure, he’s in denial. He obviously still has feelings for Mo Hyun. But those feelings have always been subordinate to his need for revenge, and continue to be sacrificed in the name of his goals. Along with the people around him, their lives and their happiness. Whether they deserve it or not. Everyone is expendable in the name of revenge.
He sets Mo Hyun up to hear the ugly truth about their deception and her arranged marriage as though he’s about to tell her everything, but then he only tells her enough to break her and drive her away from Mooshimwon. He didn’t even tell her why he, the real Jang Eun Cheon, is hiding his identity and staying in that family. He didn’t tell her why he was doing what he was doing. He didn’t explain why he became the Jang family dog. He only told her enough to devastate her and driver her away. Let me repeat that: he didn’t even tell her the whole truth. His whole “confession” was just another one of his manipulations!

This has nothing to do with making a clean breast of it with Mo Hyun, and everything to do with the revenge plot. Pil Joo isn’t a martyr. He’s a monster.
Immediately after the confession, where is he? Planning his take over of Cheong A. He doesn’t even take a breath to recover. He immediately asks Yong Goo to go over the final leg of the plan with him:

After intentionally breaking Mo Hyun’s spirit and wrecking his supposed “friend’s” sham marriage of his own design, Pil Joo is right back on his slash and burn war path toward the utter destruction of Cheong A. We may want to attribute all these suppressed emotions and noble feelings to Pil Joo to try to mollify his guilt in some way. His mysterious friend/helper Yong Goo sure seems to want to. But you know what kind of person consistently suppresses their better feelings in the name of goal oriented, ends-justify-the-means pragmatism?
A cold blooded, sociopath. Which is what Pil Joo is.
By contrast, where do we find Boo after he threatens to kill the mother of his child in the name of his goals? Sobbing like a child in his car:

Where is he after his wife’s very understandable mental breakdown upon find out that the last five years of her life have been one long series of lies and manipulations orchestrated by and large by the man she loves? Watching over her as she sleeps.

Of the two of them, Boo is the one most visibly shaken and horrified by his actions. And it’s honestly a wonder that Boo isn’t more messed up than he is, morally speaking. Considering that he’s been physically and emotionally abused by his terrifying mother and manipulative friend for the past 20 years.
Oh yeah, remember how Pil Joo frequently uses violence with him when Boo doesn’t do what he’s supposed to do?
Tumblr media
Boo still has a soul and is capable of feeling things like remorse and betrayal. Like the desire to protect his son.
While I feel terrible for Mo Hyun, because her life has been utterly and undeservedly wrecked by these people, I think she’s capable of recovery. After all, she already suspected what kind of people lived a Mooshimwon. She has had multiple indications of what kind of situation she is willingly placing herself in. Boo is coping with the shock that everything he believed about his life for almost 20 years is a lie. His sense of identity has been shaken–everything he’s wanted, everything he’s ever attained is part of this lie. He was forced into an arranged marriage that he didn’t even want at the time and now that he truly loves his wife, she’s calling out Pil Joo’s name in her sleep! He just found out that his only friend has never been sincere with him. Rather, he approached him maliciously with the intention of ruining his family and taking his place. Not only that, he’s found out that he’s not even the biological son of the father that he idolizes. Pil Joo is the true heir, here to take everything away he’s ever taught Boo to want.
Anybody would crack up in these circumstances. And he can’t even talk to anyone about it. He can’t tell his mother or confide in wife or the person who was supposed to be his best friend. He ends up going to his unacknowledged father (I think he knows, or at least strongly suspects who Driver Oh is) to vent some of his grief.

He talks about the truth of Pil Joo’s deception being enough to kill Mal Ran if she was to ever find out. But I think the same scene can be taken a different way. He doesn’t want his mom to find out the truth, because he doesn’t want her to feel the way he feels right now. Like he might die from it. Because Boo really loved Pil Joo, damn it! If we can say nothing else about Boo Cheon, we have to at least give him that.
Even if they intend to make Boo the antagonist from this point until the end of the drama, I just can’t bring myself to hate him. He’s too pitiful. Sure, he’s weak and selfish and entitled. But he is what he was conditioned to be from a very young age. His mother has treated him like an incompetent disappointment and Pil Joo has turned him into a puppet. If things had played out different, who knows where he would be right now? If not for Pil Joo’s interference, who knows what kind of person he could have become?
One big thing that the shooting range scene demonstrates (besides the fact that Boo has officially been driven around the bend) is that when he isn’t comparing himself to or being hopelessly dependent on Pil Joo, he can actually perform very well.
As much as I despise his cousin, I think Yeo Cheon was right about something:

Anyway…that’s why I can’t help but root for and feel sorry for Boo. I hope that he’s not past the point of no return. And I’m still waiting for Pil Joo to recognize the fact that a) Boo is a victim of this corrupt family as much as he is himself and b) he doesn’t have the right to manipulate and destroy other people’s lives like some kind of vengeful god. Even when the deserve it.
If it’s not evident from what I’ve written above: I really, really like this show. It’s mad entertaining, and the character arcs are as complex as they are tragic. I am still hoping for Pil Joo’s redemption, I think the man is utterly fascinating. I don’t see this train wreck having a happy ending. But I’m still waiting for Pil Joo and Boo to actually have it out about Pil Joo’s lies before someone gets shot or stabbed. I want to believe, even at this point, that Pil Joo really did come to care for Boo. Even if he started out hating him, I can’t believe all he feels for Boo is hate, anymore than I believe he really put a stop to his feelings for Mo Hyun. Forgiveness might not be possible at this point, but at the very least I’m hoping for closure. A lot can happen in 6 hours, so lets keep our fingers crossed.
Anyway, those are my TL;DR feelings about Money Flower. Raw and  unabridged. Thanks for your patience while I worked on your ask, and thanks for sticking with me if you read this far. Goodnight, my lovely followers. You’re all so beautiful.
