Danger verse characters and their favorite super bowl show.
Firstly, our titular bitchular himself, Henry Hart:
Henry would say Bruno mars, but couldn't tell you anything about the performance other than "it's cool". He could be talking about the Coldplay show which both Beyoncé and Bruno mars were in, but he could also just really like the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
(Note: credit for titular bitchular goes to Athena P. Thanks for the notable quotable queen)
Next up, and needing financial compensation for This bullshit, Charlotte Page:
Charlotte's favorite performance is Prince, and she shouldn't have to explain herself on that, as it is one of of not the best halftime show ever. Beyoncé is a close second, as it is one of the only other ones she believes comes close.
Third, our lovable buckethead, Jasper Dunlop:
Jasper knows most all of the halftime shows, and it's a tie between Lady Gaga and Madonna for him, which somehow surprised some people thinking he'd say Katy Perry). He responds to those allegations with "fair, but she didn't impress me. Madonna and Lady Gaga impressed me. In both spectacle and singing."
Up next, Wait are you causing daddy issues? You're not even a father, Ray Manchester:
So I was thinking *NSYNC and Aerosmith, but then I remembered, and the answer is obvious. Ray's favorite halftime is Janet Jackson, and it's not just for the controversial part, surprisingly. But it does help it be the favorite. It definitely helps.
(Note: listen if you have no clue what I'm talking about, that's fair. The performer had a wardrobe malfunction and the nfl basically tore down her career after. Look it up.)
Next, sorry, you did fuckin what now?, Schwoz:
So unlike canon, I will be kind-ish to schwoz, and say his favorite is The blues brothers(and he likes the movie too), and he likes the aged rockers era. Source: schwoz's outfit in the bttf ripoff.
Behold, our iconic queen: Piper Hart
Beyoncé, easy. No one may speak to her when Beyoncé's performance at the super dome is playing. And I'd be remiss not to mention that Piper was foaming at the mouth over Rihanna's performance. But it doesn't beat Beyoncé.
Disclaimer: I've watched 5 episodes of danger force max. I love the four kids' vibes but can't find the episodes anywhere. So with that said,Its time to go into unknown territory:
Wow this girl's more scrambled than my scrambled fucking eggs, Mika Macklin:
Shakira & J. Lo. I feel like Mika's really likes Spanish music(I dunno she just gives me that vibe), and the vibes of the shakira & j lo show is just a bunch of fun and I think that's what draws her to it.
Ah yes the boy, Bose o'Brian. I have no other way to describe him:
Listen, Left Shark who forgot their choreography resonates with Bose. Also the amount of brightly colored spectacle and "I forgot Katy Perry did that in the show." seems very Bose to me.
Up next, the one I feel like I know the least about, Miles Macklin:
so miles feels like he'd take the easiest answer that takes little to no explanation. So I think it'd be the hip-hop medley with dr. Dre & co, bc all you really need to know is that it was about damn time.
Wait, this isn't my snarky lesbian bff? Fr?, Chapa de Silva:
I was tempted to say that Chapa doesn't care about super bowl halftimes, but that's quitter talk. Her favorite is Bruce Springsteen, and she will sometimes quote it when fighting or after a fight and no one knows why bolt is talking about guacamole. but if it's 3am and she wants to watch something stupid, Chapa would watch the Indiana Jones show(yes that exists and it's as bad as you think it is).

For many years, it was thought that the name "Worm Moon" referred to the earthworms that appear as the soil warms in spring. This invites robins and other birds to feed—a true sign of spring.
However, more research revealed another explanation. In the 1760s, Captain Jonathan Carver visited the Naudowessie (Dakota) and other Native American tribes and wrote that the name Worm Moon refers to a different sort of “worm”—beetle larvae—which begin to emerge from the thawing bark of trees and other winter hideouts at this time.
March’s full Moon often plays a role in religion, specifically in Christianity, this Moon is known as the Lenten Moon if it is the last full Moon of the winter season (i.e., if it occurs before the spring equinox) or as the Paschal Full Moon if it is the first full Moon of spring (i.e., if it occurs after the spring equinox).

This holiday marks the Spring Equinox, which happens before March 19-22. It is the second of three spring celebrations (the midpoint between Imbolc and Beltane) during which light & darkness are again in balance, with light on the rise. It is a time of new beginnings & of life emerging further from the grips of winter.
There is much debate regarding the origins of Ostara due to the lack of primary sources about this sabbat. One theory is the name of Ostara came from the Anglo-Saxon goddess Eostre. Another theory is that Eostre is more of a localized goddess in Kent County, England. Despite the questions of her origins, Eostre is associated with modern-day Pagan traditions of Ostara.
There is no evidence that the ancient Greeks or Romans celebrated Ostara, although they did celebrate their own spring festivals, such as the Roman festival of Floralia & the Greek festival of Anthesteria. It was a time to honor the returning sun, fertility & rebirth.

Easter traditions vary across the Christian world & include sunrise services or late-night vigils, exclamations & exchanges of Paschal greetings, flowering the cross & the decoration and the communal breaking of Easter eggs (a symbol of the empty tomb) among many others. The Easter lily is a symbol of the resurrection in Western Christianity traditionally decorates the chancel area of churches on this day & for the rest of Eastertide. Additional customs that have become associated with Easter & are observed by both Christians & some non-Christians include Easter parades, communal dancing, the Easter Bunny & egg hunting.
Other Celebrations:
• Festival of Luna- March 31st
Is a feast day honoring the Goddess Luna who is seen as the divine embodiment of the Moon.
The Temple of Luna was a temple on the Aventine Hill in Rome, dedicated to Luna, the moon goddess. Its dedication was celebrated on March 31st, thus the celebration.
According to Tacitus, it was built by king Servius Tullius. However, the first confirmed reference to a temple to Luna dates to 182 BC & refers to one of its doors being knocked off its posts by a miraculous blast of air & shot into the back of the Temple of Ceres. That account probably places the temple at the north end of the hill, just above porta Trigemina. The temple was struck by lightning around the time of the death of Cinna, as was the temple of Ceres. After the destruction of Corinth, Lucius Mummius Achaicus dedicated some of his spoils from the city to this temple. It was destroyed in the Great Fire of Rome in 64 AD & not rebuilt.

The Subtle British Pop Culture/Timeline In CHICKEN RUN
On occasion, I've pointed out when the original CHICKEN RUN is set.
It's often been written that CHICKEN RUN was "set in the '50s", a sort of vague descriptor of its rather dreary post-war England setting. One could assume that from the technology present in the movie, and the homages to 1950s prisoner-of-war films. The obvious ones being STALAG 17 (the number 17 is on the main hut that the chickens all plot in) and THE GREAT ESCAPE. The character Fowler was of the mascot division of the Royal Air Force during World War II. All that talk about his medals. Chocks away!
The easiest way to pinpoint when CHICKEN RUN is set, at the earliest, is knowing what the songs are.
The chickens, in a hut, dance to a cover of Joe Turner's 'Flip, Flop and Fly', Turner's original was released in 1955, an early example of a rock n' roll song. Britain certainly had rock n' roll in a pre-Beatles era, but it doesn't seem as well-known to the average American as American rockers - you know, Elvis, Little Richard, etc. - are to Brits.
Later in the film, Rocky the rooster is jamming out to 'The Wanderer' by Dion.
youtube
The song first appeared in North America in November of 1961 - both as a single and as an album track on RUNAROUND SUE (the title track another big hit for him), and if you look in the opening credits sequence, Mrs. Tweedy works with a calendar that says "November"... However, 'The Wanderer' was first released in the UK in January of 1962. And it doesn't seem like much time has passed since the opening credits and the end of the movie...
'The Wanderer' reached #10 in the UK, which was great for an American rock/pop song over there... If anything, the movie is likely set in November/December 1962, so that was plenty of time for 'The Wanderer' to climb the charts, and then be played on the radio every once in a while. Things took a little while in a pre-streaming age, ya know? *waves cane* *I'm actually not that old, nowhere near lol I just love this kinda pop culture history*
So CHICKEN RUN is still kind of a post-war/pre-Beatles England, and it's set in a secluded location inhabited by a middle-aged couple who likely wouldn't have had any idea what was going in the teen beat scene. The Beatles' 'Love Me Do', the single that really put them on the map in the UK, was released in early October of 1962. Being their first true single (not the 'My Bonnie' recording they did in Germany with Tony Sheridan), it charted at a great #17 in the UK... Which of course was nothing compared to what was to come, the strings of #1s, or at least close to that. 'Please Please Me' was the second single, released in January 1963, it hit #2 in the UK. Beatlemania pretty much becomes a thing in the UK by the middle of 1963... It would take a little while for us yanks to catch the fever...
Anyways, CHICKEN RUN is set in November/December 1962. Or maybe it's 1963, who knows, but I think it's pre-Beatlemania rural England. Yorkshire to be exact.
It's kinda funny how the Disney animated ONE HUNDRED AND ONE DALMATIANS shares some similarities in this regard. That film was released in January 1961, and is set in both London and rural England. Its second half during the late fall/early winter no less. The puppies arrive in October, as stated in the film, and the film ends during Christmastime. Snow everywhere, dreary atmosphere, etc.... And then you have the Tweedys in CHICKEN RUN. Mrs. Tweedy is kind of a combination of Cruella de Vil *and* Jasper. She's got the contempt for animals like Cruella, and is taller and the brains like Jasper. Horace, the shorter, pudgier one in the equation - who is onto what the animals are doing but isn't believed, is totally Mr. Tweedy.
That brings us to the recently-released CHICKEN RUN: DAWN OF THE NUGGET... The sequel swaps prisoner-of-war movies and World War II imagery for James Bond and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE. Spy movies in general.
One look at Mrs. Tweedy's high-tech new factory shows that in *spades*. But the folks at Aardman Animations did their homework, a lot of the details and background design and such, it legitimately looks like the lair of a supervillain in a '60s spy movie. Much like how Nomanisan Island does in THE INCREDIBLES, another very midcentury modern-inspired movie and franchise. There's also that charming UPA-esque cartoon on how the chickens are processed into nuggets, great stuff there. I also kind of get a bit of a Gerry Anderson vibe here, too. He was known for marionette shows - done in a process called "Supermarionation" - like THUNDERBIRDS and CAPTAIN SCARLET AND THE MYSTERONS. I assume most of the crew behind these movies grew up watching those shows.
And of course, a big indicator... Towards the end of the film, all the chickens - brainwashed by mind-control collars that make them all happy-go-lucky - are being forced up an escalator to a popcorn chicken death. In this pretty creepy sequence, they're all doing this while Cliff Richard's 'Summer Holiday' plays in the background. The bright, pastel-colored set adorned with simplistic countryside-looking hills that these chickens are brainwashed in before they are to be ground into fast food is reminiscent of vintage British and European children's programs. I was thinking of stuff like THE MAGIC ROUNDABOUT and such, which was also a stop-motion production.
youtube
Oh yeah, 'Summer Holiday'. That song came out in January 1963, it was the title song for a movie that was *huge* in England when it first came out. Cliff Richard is the prime example of a pre-Beatles British pop/rock star, I feel he's almost synonymous with that period of British pop music before John, Paul, George, and Ringo showed up. So, CHICKEN RUN 2 is set *after* January 1963. Plus, Ginger and Rocky's daughter Molly needed some time to grow up a bit.
Either this was intentional or not, but it strangely adds up. It's pretty chronological, either by accident or they made sure they didn't have too many anachronisms... Other than the cartoonishly high tech of Mrs. Tweedy's Fun-Land Farms, but then again, the pie machine in the original CHICKEN RUN was kind of improbable too. But that's the fun of the CHICKEN RUN movies, so it's a staple.
And even in other Aardman works, there are fun nods to British pop culture and media. For example, in WALLACE & GROMIT: THE CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT, Art Garfunkel's 'Bright Eyes' can be heard on the car radio in one scene. Garfunkel is American, yes, but 'Bright Eyes' was composed and recorded for the soundtrack of the British animated classic WATERSHIP DOWN. Just in case you've never seen or even heard of that movie. WATERSHIP DOWN is about rabbits, and in the WALLACE & GROMIT movie, they're dealing with rabbits! Quite clever.
Another favorite of mine is in FARMAGEDDON: A SHAUN THE SHEEP MOVIE. Of course, Shaun the Sheep is spun off from WALLACE & GROMIT, he appeared in the short film A CLOSE SHAVE. The second SHAUN THE SHEEP movie brings in science fiction and aliens, a real 180 from the small-scale first film. At the end of the film, the Farmer accidentally gets onto the UFO and is not on Earth anymore! Before they get him back, a song called 'Forever Autumn' can be heard playing on a radio.
'Forever Autumn' is a rewrite of a Lego commercial jingle composed by Jeff Wayne in 1969, with lyrics by Gary Osborne and Paul Vigrass. The two lyricists recorded the first version of that song in 1972 for an album called QUEUES. A couple years later, Jeff Wayne got the idea to do a musical version of H. G. Wells' THE WAR OF THE WORLDS. A musical album, bringing in several mostly British talents to retell - through story and song - the British sci-fi staple. 'Forever Autumn' was covered for the album, with lead vocals sung by Justin Hayward of The Moody Blues. Of course, another British group... all for the section of the album in which the protagonist - a journalist - fears his wife had been killed in the Martian invasion. "'Cause you're not here." Which is the lyric heard in FARMAGEDDON when they realize that the Farmer went to outer space!
(It takes a special kind of skill to take such a depressing song and make it FUNNY in any context.)
Anyways, those are just a couple examples off the top of my head. Aardman's work is distinctly British, to the core. And the CHICKEN RUN movies give me a fascinating idea of when they are set, a very cartoon British '60s.

OOC Timeline: Members will have from February 1st through February 8th to post their initial starters around the snowstorm. After 2/8, no new starters can be posted, but writers are free to continue their event thread until it's conclusion. An announcement will be made on both days when the event has started and ended.
EVENT DETAILS
Now that the pairings are announced, members are encouraged to reach out to the mun of their paired partner to plan out what will occur between the characters. Members are free to take liberties with the snowstorm backdrop to create whatever situational atmosphere they'd like - they can be as comedic, lowkey, absurd, mundane, adrenaline-seeking, or subtle as you'd like! If you're interested in more concrete details prior to the weather report on Tuesday, the 2014 Gulf Coast Winter Storm serves as a reference point!
Pairing Threads:
The primary reason behind the event is to encourage character interaction between characters who may not have engaged with each other before. As such, character threads are highly encouraged between the assigned pairing. Members can choose if they'd prefer to have their threads set during the action of the snowstorm (ex. thread of two character chatting while stuck in an ATM vestibule together until the power comes back on) or after the snowstorm (ex. first thread are characters running into each other two days after being stuck together in the ATM vestibule during the snowstorm).
Threads have no set length, neither in writing nor in IC time. The encounter between characters can be as brief as twenty minutes or as long as an overnighter, while threads can be full on multi-paras or simple gif conversations.
Additional Threads:
Members are also free to take advantage of the setting to engage in other snowstorm related threads during this time period, and are not limited to only engaging with their assigned partner. Other plotted threads and open starters are welcome! (ex. after being freed from the ATM vestibule, your character briefly seeks warmth at a nearby grocery store with other patrons, where an open starter may be set - or they return home to their roommate for a closed starter!)
Additionally, members are free to continue non-event threads!
Please be sure to tag all event threads as bhqevent001 for differentiation purposes.
Happy plotting everyone! An official post will be made once the event has begun on 2/1. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send them to the main!
Considering that Alastair would have been about the right age and had just undergone absolutely massive and miserable life changes I think he was an emo/scene young adult in the 2000s and like completely hardcore about it
That's not what this post is about though! This post is about his total normie child Call inheriting his ultra rare, one run only band shirts, getting ranch dressing on them, and having No Clue whilst actual canon emo Jasper de Winter gnashes his teeth and cries about justice and the lack thereof
This was commissioned by @automatuck9! If you'd like to commission a book, well, keep your eyes peeled! It's a thing that comes up every so often.
I have no idea how to make a spoiler free review of this book, to be quite honest with you. You can tread the back of the book and I suppose that’s not a lie about what you’re getting, but it’s also not an accurate representation of it. I mean all that in a positive way! I think this book is an immense amount of fun, it twists and turns and you can see the beats of later books being modeled after patterns set out in this extremely famous book that I suppose we could call a gothic romance, but also melds in aspects of the crime novel. It’s great, I think you should read it.
Spoilers follow!
This is like reading Gone Girl, but written in the 1930s. I’ve read this book multiple times, I damn well know what happens in the book, and yet still every time I read it, I am open-mouthed again at this crazy bitch. Du Maurier has such a fun way of writing bad women, and you really never know until the end whether or not Rebecca is guilty of anything. The first time I picked up this book, I had no idea what I was in for, and it was my first novel by du Maurier, so I didn’t know her general beats. It was not at all the novel I expected; I just recommended it to my mother because she loves crime novels, and I told her I couldn’t explain to her what she would like about it because to do that would ruin the entire book. It starts so much as an almost Cinderella romance, and then, these trappings of that idea are picked away at, one by one, and it almost asks this question of, ‘could Cinderella ever really take command, or does the evil stepsister always win in the end?’
Our narrator is never named. She is only ever the second Mrs. De Winter. The most we are ever told about her name is only that Maxim finds it interesting, and then it is never mentioned again, because her identity is unimportant. Unimportant even to her, in as she is telling us the story in flashback, she never thinks to mention it, even in the mouth of another person. From the moment we meet her, her identity is given to us, and to her,k in her association with other people. She is the timid little companion for Mrs. Van Hopper, she is the innocent and bashful little wife of Maxim, she is the inferior of Rebecca.
And Maxim wants this of her! I surprised myself, since I’ve read this multiple times, about how annoyed and angry I was that she didn’t have the full wedding, she didn’t get a trousseau for her marriage, and he’s so happy that ‘she doesn’t want all that’ but she doesn’t get a chance to want all that. He’s congratulating her before she gets to think about it. A wedding is one thing I guess, though if I’m marrying whatever level of moneyed and connected Maxim is supposed to be, you can be sure I am getting a large white wedding. But no trosseau? No new clothes and undergarments and linens and housewares that are meant to be truly hers, picked for her tastes? And she does want it, she asks sadly if there won’t be any any white dress or bridesmaids, and he shrugs it all off saying he had that before. It’s not about her, and she takes it. She wears her sad, worn clothes despite having more than enough money for new clothes, despite being through London where she could have gotten a few nice things.
His favorite thing about her is that she seems both unspoiled and unknowing. He even says that he doesn’t want her to have knowledge, and wherever she has a knowing expression, whenever she is canny to a situation, he doesn’t like it. He talks about her as if she were a child, even likening his desire for her not to have certain information as being similar to a father keeping ‘certain books under lock-and-key’. The narrator herself even seems aware of this, saying that he likes her in the same way that he likes Jasper (a dog) and people like dogs for this reason: They are servile, they will always love you, they bound about excited at your every move, but they never ask anything of you. It’s the same reason Mrs. Van Hopper liked her, that she seemed to have nothing of her own behind it, that she was something that could be projected upon.
She is a work of art in that way, isn’t she? People can make her into what they need and want her to be, in a way they never could Rebecca. Both of them played at being what people wanted them to be, but it was in two different ways: Rebecca was the manipulator, and every role she played was to her own ends, while our narrator is a little toy being batted around by cats for all of her life.
Going back to what I was saying about her having no identity, throughout the book she refuses to take ownership of being the new lady of the house, gently demurring to Mrs. Danvers, letting the housemaids make fun of her. Couldn’t be me, I could walk right in there and establish that however Rebecca did something isan’t relevant to me unless I ask, so don’t bring it up,but this is part and parcel of her whole issue. Other people have to project identity upon her.
I also want to talk about the fact that Mrs. Danver is clearly hung up on Rebecca (more on that later) but part of Mrs. Danvers feeling she has the freedom to directly oppose the narrator is the narrator’s own fault. In the beginning, Mrs. Danvers seems to be begging her to take the house in hand, even the first time the narrator is called about the menu, an she says that she’s sure it’s fine just as it is, Mrs. Danvers tells her if it would be better if she read the list. That if she wanted anything changed, she needs to tell her. There is a space to mark her sauce preferences. Mrs. Danvers is like a young German Shepherd, begging for a heavy hand like Rebecca’s to tell her what fucking color the sky is this morning--and such people exist--and our narrator cannot do it. She can’t be the mistress of the house. And so, like a young German Shepherd, Mrs. Danvers takes that incredible weakness of will and turns to destruction and defiance.
It is only after Maxim tells her that he never loved Rebecca, that of course he didn’t miss her, and in fact he killed her, that our narrator can begin to run the house like the mistress she is. This is her great triumph, the time that she can rise above what she has been and move into what she might be. It’s almost comical, when you read the book, there is this huge reveal, that Maxim killed Rebecca, that it wasn’t an accident, and instead of being rightly horrified, as the audience is, our narrator is immediately happy. Because it means that she had always won, that Rebecca was not the ghost that her husband truly loved while she was only an entertainment. It is an absolutely deranged response to this reveal, their life is a fucking shambles and her body returns, and her boat says that she will yet come back. And yet, because of the way our narrator is established for us, it feels completely correct to the character. In a sense, we even cheer for her. I know I was fucking delighted when she told Mrs. Danvers she didn’t care how Rebecca did something.
Some of the symbolism is so incredibly on the nose, but I didn’t find it offputting in any way. The title of Rebecca’s boat “I return.” the way the rhododendrons mimic the flames that will eventually consume the house, overpowering it, blood red. The flowers are intersting particularly, because they, in addition to being a tip of the hand about what’s going to happen to the house, are also Rebecca. The narrator mentions that she thinks of rhododendrons as a homey, domestic thing, in little pinks and mauves, and here these ones are, overpowering and blood red and refusing to be tamed, taking over the house.
I wonder if it’s not for nothing that de Winter is used as the last name, because of course it puts me in mind of Milady from The Three Musketeers, that cunning and ruthless woman who was also steps ahead of everyone else. Also note that in The Three Musketeers, Milady marries Lord de Winter as a means to an end, though somewhat more violent than our Rebecca. I don’t know if it’s connected or not, or if that only connection is du Maurier thought of that name and knew the vibes coming off of it would be immaculate.
I’ve seen readings of Rebecca where Mrs. Danvers and she were lovers, and Rebecca was a lesbian, and when I was reading this, I specifically was looking through this lens. I absolutely see where people are coming from on this one, and I don’t even oppose it: Mrs. Danvers intense devotion to Rebecca, the way Mrs. Danvers claims she despised men--Mrs. Danvers certainly treats the memory of her as a lost lover. I am extremely comfortable with a reading of Rebecca where Mrs. Danvers has romantic feelings for her.
But not mutually. I think Rebecca is not a lesbian, I think Rebecca is not anything like that, I think Rebecca does not have any attachment to sex or affection that is uncoupled from her ability to toy with other’s feelings and manipulate them into doing the thing that she wants. Did she despise men, or did she tell that to Mrs. Danvers because she knew what Mrs. Danvers wanted? She absolutely dwells and thrives in the shame and the hatred of it all, she enacts her violence on the house and on Maxim, wrapped in and aided by this exceptional amount of charm she possesses, because I think that’s the most fun thing about her being so mustache-twirling, is how desperately loved she was, how clever she is with people, how she manages it all so beautifully and effortlessly.
Do we think of Rebecca as a hero? I don’t know that I’d go so far as to call her a hero, in fact I don’t think that at all, as i reflect on it, but there is something about her that I cannot bring myself to hate. She’s a monster, she’s horrible person, she seeks power and destruction above everything else, but she’s also a society woman in Cornwall in the 30s, and there is something so transgressive about the way she bucks convention in a way that is not safe. We are not asked to think her “cool” the way we would a woman who wears pants or drives cars or whatever those minor transgressions are. She is literally going to set years of tradition and history aflame, and she refuses to die safe in her bed, because that would require her to rely on someone. Again, I am not saying this super laudable, and it certainly is not something that’s easy to live with. But I find it terribly compelling that she chooses to die on her feet. That she will destroy Manderley, even, at the end, and there was nothing a single person could have done to tame her.
I absolutely love the end. I love that, after it all, after Rebecca’s great trick is revealed and it seems that life will go back to normal, it’s only ever a joke, a brief reprieve from everything, because not only did Rebecca have cancer, but she was the cancer for Manderley, and even in death she reclaims Manderley. It was never even Maxim’s, from the moment they were married.

Perhaps Contraption - Nearly Human - “Avant-Rock / Art - Pop / Post-Classical / Marching Band / Something or other” present their theatre show soundtrack
"Send me hope we are akin,
Distant parts of one machine"
Nearly Human is the soundtrack to our gig theatre experience of the same name. We performed this show between 2018 - 2020. It describes the life-cycle of one extraordinary atom, and how this tiny, ancient, unfathomable thing travels through various lives and experiences on its journey through the aeons. Partly inspired by cosmologist Carl Sagan, the piece contemplates how our baffling, unlikely existence is intertwined with the stars. Touching upon biology, spirituality and cosmology, Nearly Human is an epic and euphoric celebration of life and the universe.
For more information on the performance, please go to: perhapscontraption.co.uk/nearlyhuman/

Aloha! He decidido hacer este FC Masterlist en lugar de una muse page porque durante 10 años de rol tuve más niños que una guardería. A continuación encontrarán faceclaims que he roleado/roleo/me gustaría rolear. Los escritos en negrita son personajes ya creados y el icono de estrella señala a mis musas principales, pero siéntanse libre de pedirme a quién sea que tengan como wanted opposite porque me abundan las ganas de rolearlos a todos.
Okay but one of the things that hurt me the most in Mrs de Winter is how Ich sees a dog and inmediatly goes "I want Jasper back :(" like STOP I'M ALREADY CRYING
Jasper loooooves soft fluffy surfaces. If I want kitty biscuits, I put on my fluffy robe. He's purring like an engine right now.
My mom bought this for my husband because he naps in his room when his feet are too sore to stand in a shower. His room has no heat, but when we do renovations and remodeling in a few years, we're gonna install a ductless heater and a/c.
I need to make a cat bed with minky fabric and stuff it with fluff. Jasper will be 16 in a couple weeks (Cacoa turns 18 in March); a soft warm bed is a must. First I need to find a pattern and figure out how to make it. He de-fluffed his last be. What he does is lay down with his back against the wall of the bed and makes biscuits with all four feet. Over time he weakens the fabric and ends up pulling the stuffing out. His last bed was trashed in the move because the fabric was a wreck, and we haven't gotten around to buying another one. I do wanna get a heated bed for them seeing as they're elderly and winter can be cruel with arthritis (no x-rays needed; cats typically develop arthritis by the time they're 10).
Didi. No contest. It's not so much because she's my oldest muse (Jasper came right after her and to this day I find some difficulty writing him!) but because in some weird way, Didi and I have a lot of overlap in initial approach to things. I, am normal though, and would not actually act on many of the initial reactions I would have because I have self control. Didi, on the other hand, has zero self control. Didi is very much my lizard brain so it's just a matter of following what my first thought is and just...max out the dial.
TWO. Which muse is most likely to go to jail?
Many of my muses deserve to be caught for their crimes, however, only a few of them have actually ever been to jail and may go again because of their nature. Firstly is Dude, who is specifically a convenience store robber and repeat offender. He's even gone back to steal from previous places he's hit and is relatively well known throughout his area. He gets picked up a lot.
Buck is also one who will most likely end up back in jail as he refuses to stop conning and while he's a relatively good conman, anything can happen on a job. Sometimes he's recognized from past cons, his fake identity is put into question, or someone is just a little too savvy to fall for a con.
Viola is currently incarcerated, but in a state-run psychiatric hospital. Were she ever to be released into the public, even after rehabilitation, she would most likely end up right back; Viola's PTSD and very naive view on society and human connection has actually made it very unlikely for her to be able to integrate safely with the public. She'd be set off too easily.
Anton is also going to jail in his canon. He's very aware of the fact that he cannot continue killing undetected forever— that being said, it's also in his canon to escape. So there's that.
All other muses with highly illegal tendencies are either too smart to get caught (Deacon, Missy, Esme, The Columbary, and 85), their crimes are completely unknown/unlinked to law enforcement (Yasmin, Sister Sable, Philo, Mikail, The Peck siblings, Roy De Winter, and The Delvecchio Twins), are too rich and/or influential to make a move on (Lawrence), or would never allow themselves to be captured without doing something drastic (Truman, Lyssa, Angus, and Corbin).
FOURTEEN. What sort of YouTube channel would your muses have?
Out of all my muses that would actually take the time to make and create content for a YouTube channel, here are the stats:
Whip - Book reviews to market his true crime book store. He's long-winded, not especially flashy, but his regular customers are big fans.
Vicente - A lot of celebrity stuff. He's a well know model and new time music producer, so there's a breadth of genres touched upon, such as behind the scenes shorts at the recording studio, promotional clips of concerts of artists he's helped produce, sneak peaks of modeling shoots he's working on, a lot of Q&A's, work out videos, etc. He has tons of followers.
Sister Sable - She's now a famous musician so obviously there are her songs, music videos, promotional videos for merchandise, a few videos of her announcing upcoming shows and projects, etc. Also has tons of followers, many strange and obsessive.
Philo - Literally him talking about anything and everything, tends to lean towards reviews for tools, rants about movies, similar to his video diary but obviously not focused on him. They're almost always shot from his phone. Yes, he's still in the mask. He has about ten followers that he cherishes.
Michi - Short paint process videos, her talking about upcoming shows and projects, astral projection how-to's, random, homemade music videos, choreography for her interpretive dance numbers, a few actually professional interviews she's done for local publications. Has a good amount of followers but as she'll tell you, the numbers don't matter to her.
Harrison - He doesn't have a lot of videos nor a lot of followers but his students convinced him to do it. It's mainly cooking and baking videos, seeing as he makes them mostly because his students asked him to prove that he was really the one making all the treats he brought in.
Hank - Gaming videos. Lots of them. He's got a great setup and a pretty good personality for it, he can be charismatic behind the screen. Tries not to curse because his mom watches the videos sometimes.
