Capricorn, a study.

Said to be "cursed" to live tragic lives, Capricorns tend to suffer a great loss early on in life. The reasoning behind that is to teach them the value of consequences, a loss significant enough that it permanently affects their lives' direction.

You see, they are considered the formidable father of the star signs, and to be formidable, a good base of character must be built first.

Why do they need to learn to value consequences anyways? Capricorn is ruled by Saturn- the planet that will make you part of its ring collection if you get too close. Saturn is a symbol for Trials, Discipline, Karma, and- as the 10th House -Social Status. Their patron deity is Cronus, the Titan of Chaos and Time.

This Earth sign is both stubborn like a Taurus, but creative like a Virgo; Capricorns will only accept change if it's an improvement, they are never the type to settle for less (or settle at all).

Capricorns, opposing Cancer, are equally in touch with their emotions, and are therefore great sympathizers. They know exactly how to relate to what you're feeling (and how to take advantage of that).

Unlike Scorpio who symbolizes Death, Capricorn symbolizes the Devil. Scorpios mean to bring an end to something in order to make way for some new thing. But Capricorns, on the other hand, are the Devil here to bring whatever karma you brought onto yourself- be it good or bad.

-Alex recommends two books I enjoy a lot- Human Croquet by Kate Atkinson and Night Strangers by Chris Bohjalian. Human Croquet is one of my favorite books of all time, the first time I read it I immediately opened it up to read it again and pick up on all the things I’d missed the first time.

-Spencer needs therapy so bad oh my god

-NED AND CHARLIE NED AND CHARLIE NED AND CHARLIE. wow I love Ned and Charlie Blake so much. They’re literally based on Ned and Chuck from Pushing Daisies and I adore them. 

-James’s childhood nickname is Mini because his parents’ best friend Jeff saw him when he was hours old in the hospital and said “goddamn, Charlie, you just gave birth to a mini Ned.”

-I haven’t written Jeff into anything that I’ve posted yet, but he’s Ned’s college roommate turned business partner; he’s the other owner of the bakery. He was the best man in Ned and Charlie’s wedding and James’s godfather. Also his name isn’t actually Jeff, it’s Vincent, they just started calling him Jeff and he started answering to it.

-Gingercakes are my FAVORITE things to bake at Christmas, I might post the recipe at some point (along with my poppyseed chicken recipe).
