A Date With A Princess

A little Calianna/Jester drabble as requested by @fefemslash. This is gonna be wildly outside canon because I can't be bothered to go hunting for when the two of them might run into each other.

“A-Are you sure, Miss Jester? I know I don't exactly cut the most comforting figure for some folks to look at. And this get-up you've got me in, it sort of... highlights that.” Honestly, Calianna was much more comfortable when she was wearing a cloak or something that allowed her to hide all of her draconic features so that all the poor people around her didn't have to look on her awful visage.

But Jester had gone and given her something called a 'tea dress' and wasn't taking no for an answer. No doubt, she felt like a proper pretty lady in it. But surely the people they walked past were going to stare at her like she was a monster. Because she was.

She was snapped out of any further self-hate by Jester, who was dolled up in her own pretty dress. She just grabbed her hand, her scaly one, and looked at her with that big cheerful grin. “No way! This is Nicodranas! My mom basically runs this town. If anyone gives you any trouble, me and the Nein will deal with it!” Her face grew a little more serious as she walked closer to her. “Also, how many times have I told you, it's Jester. No 'Miss'. We're friends! Okay?? Now come, the place is just around the corner here!”

It was a bit like being attached to a speeding carriage. The only thing you could hope to do was try and keep up. Sure enough, after rounding a corner, they came face to face with a little bakery. “Oh, what a cute name. Why is it called Sapphire's Choice?”

That grin of hers could light up an entire dark night. “Well, it used to be called Ruby's Glow. But I started eating there more than mom, and they changed the name in my honor!” It was like... hitting the town with a princess. Marion Lavorre may not have been in charge of Nicodranas, but seemingly nothing happened here without her say-so. “Now, you just make yourself comfy and I'll go get us some stuff.” She motioned to a nearby table that sat outside the establishment.

There were definitely other people around. They were definitely staring. But there was something about being with Jester Lavorre that made them all a little bit less eager to stare at her. Sitting there in her seat, she swung her legs in a bit of childlike giddiness.

With surprising speed, the tiefling was back with a big tray laden with goodies. “Okay okay okay okay, a glass of milk for each of us, and a whole plethora of delicious snacks!”

Calianna took the cup from her and eyed it suspiciously. “And... milk is...?”

Jester gave a dramatic gasp. “You've never had milk?? You poor thing...” She swiftly slid into the other chair, unconsciously mimicking the leg-swinging. “There's so many things we have to work on.”

As the two of them sat there, splitting this mysterious drink and all these wonderful treats, they chatted excitedly and giggled. Occasionally their legs would brush together, or their hands would meet as they both reached for the same food. When Jester looked at her, she obviously didn't look at a monster. She just saw a friend. And that meant more than she could ever explain.

“Just, er, just hang on, alright?” Cali called, and winced as a small section of the rocky outcropping crumbled out from below Jester’s feet.

“I am hanging on, Cali,” came the tiefling’s voice, spiraling upward from her precarious perch thirty feet down in the ravine. “Though there is not too much I can hang on to, so you might have to hurry up a bit. Do you have a levitate for me, or something?”

Cali rummaged through her pockets desperately, and groaned when her fingers failed to close around the proper components.

“I’m so sorry, Jester, I don’t! Oh, oh gods, I can’t be prepared the one time someone needs me—”

“Concentrate, please!” Jester called. “Please, if you can’t make me fly then what else is there?”

“Can…can you climb up, or something?”

“This cliff is too sheer, I can’t without something to make handholds or a pick or a rope, or something. Sorry.”

“No, no, don’t be sorry,” said Cali quickly, “I’m sorry that I don’t have any spells that—”

She went silent.

“Cali?” Jester said. Her voice was tinged with worry. “Cali, is everything okay?”

“…yes. I think…I think have an idea.”

“Oh, good,” came the reply, and even Jester’s trademark optimism was beginning to falter. “Would you like to tell me what it is?”

“Yes,” said Cali. 

“…o-kay, can you tell me now?”

Cali nodded decisively. “I’m going to hit you with acid.”

There was a moment of silence.

“Is there, er, there a reason why you are going to hit me with acid?”

“What? Oh, oh, right, of course. Listen carefully, because I think this could work really well if we’re careful…”

“Ready?” Cali yelled.

“Ready!” Jester shouted back, and there was a strange exhale from above and then suddenly, a rain of caustic, dark green liquid rained down from above. Jester managed to keep her eyes locked on Cali despite the impending acid splash, and the second a stray drop of burning goo hit her skin, she gnashed her teeth together and from the back of her throat came a guttural cry of angry, hellish Infernal.

For a second, nothing.

And then a cold flash of blue erupted out from Jester’s form and careened up the smooth rock walls, a pillar of ice rocketing towards the sky and directly for Cali, who just managed to duck away from the terrible frozen spikes now jutting out of the mouth of the gorge.

Jester breathed a sigh of relief. The chilly air emanating from the narrow glacier beside her felt like safety.

She took a deep breath, inched closer, and put a foot against a thick, icy protrusion. Maybe it was the strength of her magic, or the nature of her blood, but it held her weight. She did not slip.

She began to climb.

“You are a genius!” Jester cried as she crested the top of the cliff and threw herself into Cali’s arms.

“You’re amazing!” Cali grinned back, and pressed a kiss to Jester’s delighted smile. “That was so cool.”

“Yes,” Jester giggled, hugging Cali in closer. “Very ‘cool’ indeed.”

When the Mighty Nein wander into town in the middle of the local Ioun's Spring Festival, it is the perfect opportunity to unwind and relax.  And the perfect time for Beau to play a surprisingly subtle cupid to Jester and Fjord.  But she's about to get help from an unusual (and powerful) source that creates unexpected, but not entirely unwelcome, consequences.  Reading Time: abt 17 mins.

Sarenrae Needs Dick! (Pike & Jester)

Caught alone by a roadside ambush, Jester is saved by a gnomish stranger, Pike Trickfoot.  Traveling with Pike, Jester comes up with a great idea: they should set up Sarenrae and the Traveler on a date!  Reading Time: abt 10 mins.

Living for the Past (Caleb & Gilmore)

Sex is just an itch that Yasha sometimes needs to scratch.   Like when she's angry or frustrated.  And when she needs a helping hand, Molly has been there.  This time, however, Jester walks in and Yasha discovers that sex can be so much more than just an itch to scratch.   Jester, Yasha, and Molly have a threesome. favorite male character: Caleb!! He is just so fun and compelling to me. I love his archetype and the way Liam plays him so much. And also Fjord tbh. They're pretty much tied for me.

favorite female character: Beau 💕 She's got such amazing development and her relationships with literally every single character are so good.

least favorite character: Calianna and Twiggy (excluding villains). I don't hate them, they're just my least favorite out of all the PCs, is all.

prettiest character: Jester!

funniest character: Nott & Jester lol

favorite season: The Pirate Arc, so far. I haven't finished the whole show yet though.

favorite episode: Commerce & Chaos, and Dockside Diplomacy

favorite romantic ship: Polynein. Plus just all of them?? I adore every ship in this show tbh, especially the poly ones!

favorite family ship: The Mighty Nein! plus Jester & Marion 💕

favorite friend ship: Molly & Yasha! I would kill for them I would die for them. By far one of my favorite relationships.

worst ship: None, really. Except for shipping the lesbians with the guys or Caduceus in anything romantic or ridiculous stuff like that. But that's a given, I imagine.

   WORRY takes over her face -- glancing at their NEW companion, ice PLACED on her leg. She glances forward -- Nott was at the back, following alongside Caleb, but now she was trailing behind, further from Caleb; from the TEAM. Sure, she -- did not TRUST her, much -- but she was nothing but nice to them, and so there was really only KINDNESS to offer.

   “Well, HEY, you signed the contract,” she jokes, crooked smile on her face, “if YOU abandoned us, we’d have rights to KILL you -- and, well -- we wouldn’t want YOU to kill us, if we leave you behind, right ??”

   She bends down, gently picks up her arm and wraps it around HER shoulder, to stand up when Calianna accepts her offer. She raises an eyebrow, nudges her head towards the group.

jesterrr, as much as i love vex, jester is the heart of the m9, i relate so much to her inner sadness and no episode is the same without her chaotic energy. 

zahra or calianna?

uh this one is hard , i choose zahra, i looooove her voice and badassery, also from all the guest characters she and kashaw felt the most natural, almost like a member of the party, plus all the vex x zahra interactions were gold
